Literally the most friendly pub I’ve ever been in so we had an issue with the pool table and he fixed it straight away and then people had a massive party and there was food left over and he just let us have it literally the best pub I’ve ever been to would 100% recommend very kind man and tasty food 😎

Fantastic pub great food generous portions to . A few different rooms if you want a chill . And 2 great gardens .

We didn't have any food, as we were having an informal Committee Meeting but Joy & Godfrey were exceptionally welcoming hosts and had arranged to accommodate us at short notice. The pub layout now makes so much more sense and a huge effort is being made with all the events they now lay on. Superb job, Red Lion.

We recently stayed at the cart arms in Gloucester, upon arrival we found there was no pool table as advertised so we called the red lion to ask if they happened to have one and if we could eat there too. It was the best thing we ever did!! We were met by some of the loveliest people - joy and Godfrey were not only warm and welcoming but we left feeling like we’d made some lovely friends. They were so amazing with our children also and had so many things for us to occupy our time there, play park, darts, skittles and a pool table. The patrons also seemed so friendly and there were lots of regulars which made you feel it was the place to be. We would hope to maybe next time stay within their accommodation but will definitely return. Thank you so much - Pam & John xx

My wife loved her burger, my son loved his veggie curry but I thought the scampi & curry portions looked to be a bit on the mean side. Beer, ale & cider all well kept. Very welcoming landlady. Pizzas that went by looked very good.

The pub has had a chequered history, but current landlady and staff are really working hard to get it back to where it needs to be. 🍻

A lovely pub resurrected from closure. Had a lovely Valentines meal along with a couple of pints of Butty Bach, almost a perfect evening but had to wait a little longer for food than normal but was good when it came. I thoroughly recommend this place and will be back soon.

The food is a good standard and very good value for money. The landlady and landlord are very friendly and welcoming. All in all a good time was had by all. 👍

Showed up and waited 10 minutes at the bar, rang the pub twice with no answer and absolutely nobody around to serve. It was definitely open, totally disappointed.

If you love anything about uk, it must rank highly to be able to walk into a friendly pub, have some home cooked food (excellent), a beer or two, and chat with a stranger or two. I would like to see more people supporting these great pubs in rural areas.

Just had Sunday lunch 3 coarses for £16.00 came here with my elderly mum and young Grandaughter the food was lovely mum said the Prawn Coctail starter was the best she had ever eaten we were made to feel very welcome lovely atmosphere friendly staff I would Highley recommend eating here

Came away with the girls for the weekend and stumbled across this pub ,we had an amazing Friday afternoon here !! nothing was too much trouble we had our own Little function room complete with wood burning fire and amazing pizzas .. then came back again for sunday dinner and drinks and yet again they was so welcoming and friendly , food was delicious can’t fault it even with my friend who’s intolerant to most foods it wasn’t any trouble 5 stars xx

Had a very enjoyable meal here on the 3rd of August. The staff were really helpful and friendly. After ordering the food we chose from a good selection of beers and wines competitively priced. It was not long after that our food arrived and we were not disappointed it was lovely. There were desserts on offer, but we were unable to sample due to being too full. We will definitely be going back for another visit.

Really nice to have a good pub in the village again 😀. Landlady is lovely, bar staff very polite and friendly. home-made lasagne was delicious, as was the curry. Will be going again.

Lovely warm welcome and delicious home cooked food

Recently reopened, nice place. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, serving in nice clean glasses 😀 Quite a large car park, and plenty of choice of taps and spirits. Ales, ciders, lagers, wines... haven't eaten here yet, but the menu looks intriguing 👍

An excellent pub. Really friendly staff, children were welcome too. It's so nice to see a pub which isn't a cut and paste chain. The food was yummy and there was a good selection of vegetarian/vegan. There is a well maintained play area in the garden too. My only criticism was the ladies toilet was in need of TLC. The sanitary products machine was out of order, one of the locks was broken to the toilet door and the loo roll holders where broken. Otherwise it is an excellent pub I would highly recommend

Called in for a drink and decided to have food. Menu is traditionall pub grub👍 We both had 8oz steak and they were cooked to our liking. Possibly the best rump I've ever had. Very pleasant pub serving food. NOT a restaurant serving beer! Well done, keep it up🍺🥩👍

Lovely food and very hospitable staff. Only one criticism is that you don't do proper Coke or Pepsi, only the horrible, Aspartame laden diet rubbish.

Had a meal with friends last night (Saturday) - food was excellent, good quality and value for money, service was good and the 3 real ales on were varied and well kept. May not look the most appealing from the outside, but well worth a visit - the owners are trying hard and deserve success.

Very cordial welcome great service and the staff were excellent every respect. Log burners lit and very pleasantly warm and made it all the more welcoming.

There are new people here (about 3 months) and they are fab people! The food is wonderful and while we were there we ate every night! Couldn't complain at all! Clare is fab, and very cheeky but a typical brilliant landlady....thanks hun!!

Had a pint in here with a couple of friends yesterday dinner time. Beer very well looked after. Good range with a Wye Valley ale tinged with a chocolate flavour. Warm and cosy bar area with wood panelling. Its a lovely pub and the disappointment was we were the only ones there. Locals, support your local pub! Or lose it. But we will look forward to returning and solving Brexit over another pint. Oh yeh?

The absolute worst Sunday roast dinner we have ever had . When they brought out the dinner with 2 roast potatoes which were covered in some kind of metal residue still attached next to the 2 slices of roast beef which looked grey and unappealing a overheated premade Yorkshire pudding which was so hard even when covered in the bisto granules lumpy gravy we were still unable to cut through it. The chicken breast was obviously an just reheated frozen lump. The carrots were not prepared or cleaned in anyway . Lamb shank again frozen and reheated very very salty . A very unpleasant experience . The lady behind the bar kindly did not charge full price for the uneaten lamb shank and did not charge us for the drinks we had ordered. I would not recommend the red lion for any food at all

Expensive place to eat and drink, to many steps if in a wheel chair but the staff are very friendly and service is very quick clean and tidy place I give it 8 out 10
