Akash Indian Cuisine - Restaurant - Takeaways in Forest of Dean

I ordered a takeaway. It's the first time I've used this restaurant. The man was very friendly on the phone. The food was ready at the time he asked me to pick up. The food was excellent. The Chicken Saag was one of the best I have tssted. Only criticism, the chicken Tikka Masala was delicious but very little chicken in there ... mostly sauce. Also it felt very void in the restaurant so not sure I would eat in. However, all in all I would definitely recommend

Had the dinner for 2, and it was amazing. Full of flavor with a nice mixture of chicken dishes, vegetables, and all the toppings! Will definitely be back!

Take away. Food was excellent. There was about a 20 minute delay from when the food was supposed to be ready to when it actually was. But they were extremely busy. Probably wouldn't eat there but food was stand out good.

Probably my favourite Indian to eat out from when I'm in Cinderford, always fast service and good food never once had a problem with it the entire three years I've been coming here.

It was really great food and absolutely lovely customer service! We should support local business like this business because they deserve it. Rubbish! Chips were cold. Food that doesn’t contain meat was in the same containers as meat ones. Vegetarians should stay away. Other foods were mixed in with the chips. Totally disgusting.

Do not eat in, they forget your there and they can't count when comes to money or using a card machine, but the food s ok.

Best Indian takeaway in Cinderford

My new favourite Indian restaurant. Food is of good quality and we'll packaged for take out. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Always polite and great food everytime

Normally this place is great but tonight they got it wrong. Leaving customers to wait up to 2 hrs past the time that they were told to come and collect their food. There were no updates or apologies. I hope the normal great service returns for the next time but this evening it was a complete shambles.

First time we have had food from here and i was very very tasty, lovely flavours well rounded with fresh ingredients. Graet staff and also got a free calendar we will be getting our Indian form here from now on welldone for getting a new customer.

Well what can I say.... We had a collection tonight after we normally go to a different curry house and after a disappointing experience last time we thought we would try the Akash. It was most definitely worth the switch. Our meals were deliciously tasty everything was perfectly cook and very flavoursom. Will definitely be trying this curry house again. Thanks Akash

Came here for a takeaway on the weekend. We had the usual Chicken Tikka Masala, however, this time it was INEDIBLE. We had to throw it away. It was far too sweet and texture was like full on ground coconut. Disappointing this time guys! Sort it out.

We usually find Akash really good but tonight was our first treat since Xmas and we were really disappointed. Very salty popadums salty onion bhajis, very little flavour in the curry dishes and overall just very disappointing. Let's hope they can get back to their best soon. 😔

Always really friendly service, with lots of helpful suggestions about the menu and consistently good food at a really reasonable price. My favourite place for a curry with out doubt!

Absolutely beautiful Indian restaurant/takeaway. Very friendly staff, who will Go out of there way to help you. Some amazing curry’s with rise to suite. Gorgeous Peshawary nan(I think that’s what you spell it!?) lol lots of other dishes besides curry’s and have a big selection of all kinds of different dishes.havee been going here for many many years and never had a bad meal. A must try place ! Gotta try it ! All the best with your order lol

I have to agree with most other review's the food here is excellent. Flavours are great. The Tandoori chicken starter is something else. If you're visiting the Forest of Dean and fancy an Indian meal forget the others visit this establishment.

disappointed.... The food is not authentic indian/pakistani cuisine - its more (how do i put this :/) very westernised curry tailored to the english palate to the next level!!! much more than i could ever have expected. i am not indian but i know my spice.. Firstly I ordered paneer karahi - only to find it arrive with chicken in it, luckily i am not fully veggi! so still tried it. But not only that extra cheese had been added to the dish on top of the paneer cubes??so it was melted in, almost like a cheap makhani?? cheese - In a karahi - melted cheap cheese? It was not nice - also hardly any consistency to the tomato base- it was almost as if they had added cream to it - karahi should be a rich reduction with flavours of ginger, with peppers and tomato, onions. and fiery... no cream should be near it at all - this was very mild with no flavour, no spice and melted cheese as well as the paneer cubes.... too much thanks - couldnt eat it... Secondly i opened lid to my channa masala - wow - how much food colouring?? it was neon red - very offputting when i see curry houses doing this (if it cooked properly it doesn't need food colouring) and literally no channa in it it? Just sauce practically, sauce tasted ok but it was very sweet and tasted of coconut - a masala>??. thirdly - the mutter paneer/... the sauce was a snotty yellow colour, its supposed to be tomato based again..?? it was just a gloopy pile of melted cheese with i really dunno cream??. an a few chickpeas scattered in and a few paneer cubes awful i couldnt eat it. thats saying something as i hate waste... And literally just cheese .. not AT ALL how a mutter paneer should be . it should be peas and paneer in a tomato reduction... i hardly ever leave reviews however i so really disappointed in this curry - if it wasn't on expenses id be driving back for a refund as spent enough. i guess that with it being one of the only only indians around locals have to just deal with it and have no other choice or judging by the reviews they havent eaten proper curry! but this isnt authentic indian/pakistani food at all. I did get a mushroom pathia - it was not bad but pathia is supposed to be a dry curry not saucy, its supposed to be almost like a chutney, sour and sweet. But it tasted ok - the saag bhaji was nice. thats it - chicken was nice it wasnt rubbery. thats all have to say on the matter. very disappointed. sorry for poor spelling - i am in a rush.

If you're visiting be sure you go with a small party. No more than 6 as the restaurant is small. Don't let that put you off though. The food is excellent. A popular location for a take away and probably the go to place in Cinderford for a curry. Prices are good as well and the staff are always friendly.
