We’ve used the Red Lion for years. It’s a proper pub with a good selection of beers in a building with real character. They have developed the outside area, and recently refurbished the inside, including the Gents facilities! All this has been done whilst retaining the cozy friendly atmosphere.

Great Pub, wonderful beer, great service and people. Need to sort out Gents Toilets though as there was no hot water and they are absolutely filthy. Other than that - spot on.

Visited yesterday afternoon, for the first time after seeing they have live music on Sundays. Lovely atmosphere, helped by the fabulous weather. Really enjoyed the experience. Staff very pleasant.

We love visiting the london bridge. It is our regular go to pub. I love how organised the staff are with the covid regulations. I love how friendly the staff were especially our waitress alex. She was quick, friendly and happy! Thankyou so so much for a continued friendly and approachable atmosphere.

Where do you start....I thought I had gone back in time when I walked through the door, Not the best welcome and the locals just looked at us and reminded me of the American Werewolf in London bar scene. ordered 2 drinks and drank up as quick as possible. I have honestly never felt more happy to leave a pub. If this pub survives post Covid it will be like the 2nd coming. Should be closed down and rebuilt at least Much better choices around the area

A friendly, busy, canalside pub. Reasonable menu, good service. Music not too loud - you can hear your companions!

Poorly Refurbished couple of years ago. Ok in summer but it’s then that you realise that the gents urinals leak and you are peeing on your own feet if wearing sandals. You don’t notice this in winter. Mentioned this to the management several times but we always get an excuse that the Brewery are not interested. The results of this is that we go elsewhere in the village now where the ladies and gents do not stink. Complacency could be the ruin of a once great pub. We have even contacted Theaites but never had a response. Desperate measures now employed by the pub to bring in the punters such as cheap and tacky billboards outside advertising football games.

We called into the Red Lion on our way to Liverpool for the long weekend! We were hoping to catch the England v Ireland game (union) and initially we didn’t realized that there was an important match with Warrington team playing in the final. We went into bar and the helpful staff shows us where it was on (one TV as of course the final of the League was on all the others). Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, and the local patrons also friendly and helpful, giving us lots of ideas on what to do around the area and England. Very cheap (from London) beers and well worth a visit if you are calling through (there is cheap parking around the back for the shopping Centre, we paid £2 for all day).

Came in to watch the football a few weeks ago. Waited patiently for the match to arrive on screen. A few minutes before kick off, it did. Realised during the pre match build up that we couldn't hear the commentary. My husband went to the bar to ask for the volume to be turned up. Young girl behind the bar said that the volume was as high as it could go. Clearly untrue as we watch the match in the Lion on a regular basis in that very room, and can usually hear the commentary no problem with a similar number of folk present. Another party in the room made the same representations regarding the volume and was told the same by the same person. Eventually a chap close to the screen took on the task of turning up the volume manually and got it to a level where at least it could be heard. Whilst we were discussing the poor service in the pub, another chap behind us said that he had asked the same barmaid for wifi code as he had a child with him, only to be abruptly told "not working". This is a pub largely frequented by middle aged folk like us. This is not the first occasion that we have had "chippy" service by young females behind the bar, some of whom clearly CBA to shift themselves. We have since watched the last couple of matches in the Mull, as have others we normally see over the road. The Lion management need to have a word with their staff before their revenue source on match days declines still further. Also - when did the pub stop doing food? We came in on another date to eat but food provision had disappeared. Hard to contemplate a pub in Stockton Heath these days that doesn't provide at least some food options!

Haven't been in here for about a year. The beer was always nothing special and expensive, which is why I stopped coming. But last night the only pint that was ever half decent(Lancaster Bomber) was shocking. No reason to drink in here again.

The place stinks of old age and is full of pensioners, the was us and one other young couple who quickly drank their drinks. It is dated and needs a revamp.

Had to do some grocery shopping and as looking after my daughter’s dog and my partner hasn’t been well parked them in the beer garden at the back of the pub . It’s well established now the bar is a fully stocked bar and there is live music now every Friday night. The landlord came out to chat and there’s a friendly feel to the place. There are plenty of dog water bowls and they are welcome. Plenty of choice of lager on draught . It was quite quiet and we enjoyed the sun .

Called in on Sunday evening early evening. Pleasant friendly atmosphere . Various specialties of beers on offer coffee machine offered liqueur coffees. TVs dotted around but not that big or visible . Very quiet but that was fine . Had a few drinks and went for a take away . It's handily placed for waiting till they're ready !! The new outside area is perfect for sitting in the sun and is dog friendly.

The Red Lion is an old fashioned boozer. Lots of small rooms and full of locals. Crucially it serves brilliant beer - Thwaites and guest beers are well kept. Never had a bad pint. Not trendy and no food or entertainment apart from some sport on TV a n some rooms.

This place has recently been done up a bit. When i say "done up" I mean they have converted an old brick building into an outside bar and upgraded the outside seating area. I called in on Saturday evening. It was busy and noisy. The new seating area was full of people smoking and, obviously. the nice new stone flags were covered in fag ends. There were kids running all over the bowling green, with their parents, obviously, taking no notice of them whatsoever. The pint I had was perfectly fine but expensive. I'd probably have a quiet midweek drink here again but would avoid at the weekend.

Very lovely little boozer that hasn't been modernised like all of the others. Has little cozy rooms and a fire - perfect ! The staff are friendly and the place is cozy. The only thing I will say is that the lock on the ladies needs fitting but apart from that A great boozer

Good selection of beers, especially Guinness. Fair selection of food during the day, paninis, chebatas, sandwiches, soup etc. Don't think they do same selection at weekends. Good beer selection.

An excellent well kept pub with good beer, the Nutty Black was great, bar snacks a bit over priced for what you got but good standard.

I frequent the Red Lion a lot.It is one of the deminishing old drinkers pubs. But quite a bit of money has been spent on it in the last few years and it is very full at weekends and reasonably full in the week. They do nice food, not a big menu but enough if you want to call in at lunchtime & have a quick bite..There is also a Bowling Green at the back which is sheltered by a wall all the way round.Anyone can join either the A team or the B team & enjoy a practice anytime during the day with friends & also play in local pub competitions..The only reason I have not given it 5 stars is that the men's toilets need some alteration & making bigger as presently they are small & cramped..The Landlord & his wife & staff do a great job,are very amiable & you are never waiting too long to be served..Well done to all the staff. Also occasionally you will see one or two of the Warrington Wolves Rugby League team players calling in.

A good pub for the boys but not for couples. The gents toilets are ouside and not heated. It is a very dated pub that is not couple friendly and certainly not for kids or familes. Give it a miss

Fantastic breakfast. Unfortunately the Roast beef dinner was cold, poor quality and exceptionally disappointing. I did try to explain to a staff member but just got "oh" as a response.

Service in the cafe was quite bad, I think it's because we didn't want to sit on the high chairs (due to mobility issues) so waitress had to clean another table and then totally ignored us and served others that came in afterwards, had to go and ask someone to take our order and they didn't seem very pleasant throughout, food was OK when we finally received it but we'll overpriced.

Went to this subway today, staff are so rude. Threw my salad into the box and rushed my husband when he was ordering his sub, when we asked if the bottles are in the meal deal we got a massive sigh and a response of “yes it always has been nothing has changed” food was a mess and wrapped like a child did it. Will not be returning appealing service
