Stunningly decorated pub both internally and externally. Decent selection of real ales and craft beers. Ground floor was very busy but the upper floor was quiet when we visited and was able to get a table. Worth visiting just to see the pubs interior.

Didn't eat here but a great pub! Quick service, helpful staff, great drinks and lots of history. I wish we had a pub like this near us.

Amazing gig tonight. Billy Thompson was brilliant on the violin and created a great atmosphere. Paul attracts some great talent for his Wednesday night sessions, I can’t believe they’re FREE !!

as a student the red lion is one of my favourite places for a more relaxed night especially during the week- the staff are all absolute angels, i don’t know what it is but the energy & vibe is just amazing !! arguably my favourite spot in liverpool 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Absolutely fantastic pub. From the minute you walk in you feel a good atmosphere. Doesn't look big but is with tons of seating and space. Good selection of drinks served by warm friendly staff, this a characteristic of the city's people. A must visit pub.

Lovely place to nip in for a drink. Pleasant staff and friendly atmosphere . My only complaint really would be that the litter set of stairs to the toilets is quite dark. (To me) I have problems with my vision in dimly lit areas. Perhaps a little light could be installed on the stairs? Other than that a lovely place to go.

This is becoming one of most favourite pubs in Liverpool. It feels cosy inside and although it's quite busy, it's never too loud that you can't have a chat with friends. They have a great selection of ales, and there's usually a decent cider or stout on tap.

Love this place it has a very warm cozy atmosphere really good outdoor area and a good selection of real ales.

Nice little pub with the most common name ever Red Lion, friendly staff, good beer and not too pricy, love the tables out in the front as I smoke, also has a beer garden, haven’t been yet, I’m sure it’s nice. Haven tried the food as well. I just go there for drinks, not too busy as well.

Over a 3 night stay in Egham, visited the Red Lion twice. Enjoyed our time spent in this bar. Service was good, atmosphere was friendly. Choose the Red Lion over The Crown, far superior. 👍

Great pub, great atmosphere, lovely staff. A must visit if you're in the area.

It is just lovely to drop in. The selection of beer is very good, there are two excellent beer gardens, and two floors of inside. The service is polite and helpful. While some food is on offer I have never tried them but there are good restaurants in a few steps. It is just very pleasant to sit down with a beer and look at the pictures on the walls or just at the sky.

The Red Lion is an absolute gem in Liverpool. I have to mention the Guinness here is particularly great, served up in an authentic tulip glass. Always seems busy due to being popular amongst locals and tourists alike. Ask for one of Thier pies or sausage rolls as a snack. Highly Recommend

One of my favourite pubs in the city.

A great pub, with a greati vibe. Bar staff are friendly and there are always a good selection of beers on. There’s a variety of areas to sit in, inside and the courtyard is also a nice place to sit and chill out. They also show sport in certain areas of the pub.

A very unusual place goes over two floors in a townhouse. Two bars, one in the old living room downstairs and one upstairs in what would've been the matter bedroom, as I said unusual. Staff were friendly and didn't have to wait to be served even though the bar was busy. A great selection of beers and some different craft ales.

This is a traditional pub with some really quirky decor but that all adds to the atmosphere which is fantastic. It is a bustling pub with a really mixed clientèle serving a good selection of drinks with several traditional cask ales. The staff are fun and friendly giving good service and actually have an interest in what they're doing. Great venue if you want a proper pub with good beer and cocktails

Cosy pub, which is good for watching live sport. It's usually really busy, so it can be a little tricky to find a seat. The atmosphere is super chilled, staff are friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced for the centre of town

An accidental find in the Ropewalks area of Liverpool as we made our way up to the city centre from behind the Baltic Triangle through the side streets. Nice place, helpful guy behind the bar downstairs who told us to go up to the other bar upstairs. Fabulous place, nice atmosphere and a good place to chat with the local people who frequent it.

We we're a party of 20 celebrating my 50th birthday. When we got to the red lion, it was already very busy and would have struggled for room downstairs, so the staff kindly opened the upstairs room for us. We had a great time. Very accommodating. Will definitely revisit next time I'm in Liverpool.

Nice pub with a good selection of real ales. Has Victorian style but is only a few years old. It looks like a small pub from the front but goes back quite a long way and has an open courtyard if you want to get some fresh air with your pint.

This pub was coverted from an office into a pub in 2022 and won the Liverpool CAMRA Best Pub Conversion in 2023. Good selection of four real ales. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely love this pub usually it’s a great pint at an even better price, but had a really strange interaction there recently. My friend and I arrived in the early evening and ordered some pints of estrella, after happily providing ID the man behind the bar stood there glazed over. After a few seconds of nothing he asked us if we were okay to which we replied yes, then he claimed we were being confrontational and refused to serve us. I don’t really know what happened here and neither did his colleague but we left with no complaints. We were just really confused and downtrodden after this, kinda ruined our night.

This is a quirky old fashioned pub that, despite being tiny, is clearly loved locally. The pub was heaving! The bar staff were excellent and made lovely cocktails. The decor is fascinating. A cracking find!

The Red Lion is quite a new pub but you'd never know as it feels like it's been there for decades. Bar staff are always friendly and professional.... serving a great selection of changing Real Ales. Cocktails aplenty also 👍🍻

I love this bar, and just had a lovely couple of beers here. We went upstairs, a little less busy. In fact the bar upstairs was dead, albeit with less choice. I noticed the young barman, asked for a cask beer. Unfortunately they were downstairs only... other good bars I go to, they would have told me to sit down and sorted the beers... Sort the service out and I will be there every weekend

Current favourite pub in Liverpool. Designed to look like an 'old' pub but very much new. Heaven knows what it cost to fit it out with the stunning array of posters, pictures and things hanging off the ceiling but it was worth it. Customers are all ages which to me is a sign of a place that is welcoming to all. All the usual drinks including very good cocktails. No food though other than bar snacks. Outside seating areas. I believe the owners are responsible for the newly revamped Vines on Lime Street too which is very definitely worth a visit whether you are local or a visitor to the city.

Really loved this pub but had a horrible experience recently. Partner kicked out for no reason (even bouncers agreed there was nothing wrong with him) and when I asked to speak to the manager to ask why he told me I was “wasting his time” and he “didn’t want to speak to me” (dark curly haired fella behind the bar). Disgusting customer service and really let’s your pub down having him as your “manager”.
