Lovely pub, lots of games and things to do. Charming village atmosphere and friendly people, with laid back and welcoming bartenders.

A typical local village pub at the front hiding a big garden at the rear. Run by the lovely Jan and crew.

Just been in the Red Lion for a couple of pints. What a lovely, proper English pub. Locals and owners really friendly and welcoming. Just wish such pubs were not diminishing in the way they seem to be in UK. Brilliant.

Walked in, half 8. Dogs barked as they do, and was said you’ll need to leave if they bark I have kids up stairs asleep. Well don’t own a pub then on a Friday night then. Walked straight back out. Would it recommend the awful experience to anyone who not looking for a 9-5 pub and walks in with the bar staff so rude.

Lovely old country pub. Nice relaxing drink in the pub garden. Staff were very friendly. We didn't eat but menu looked great.

We have had the back room for several family get togethers. Jan runs a great pub, home of bike night.

Popped in for a pint and lunch on a Sunday cycle ride but they don't do cooked food, just nuts and crisps etc. Good pint of Doombar Amber, plenty of space in the old cottage bar and a big garden with picnic tables and play equipment for the kids.

My trip was for the Monday motorbike evening. A free event every Monday as a ride in to look at the various bikes.

Nice village pub with a lovely garden and very pleasant clientele we did not eat here, but the range of beer and drinks available are very good. A good place to meet up with families as it has a very good children's area and plenty of seating

A superb quaintasentualy English village pub, especially for the conesuers of such gems. There isn't anything better.

Called in for a drink with a few old school mates. Saturday night. Pub empty when we got in. Filled up about an hour later we got told off for talking by some woman because it was a quiz night. Not really a friendly place

The woman behind the bar was rude. No greeting at all and just looked at us like we were scum. I asked if we could have some hot drinks as it was -2 her response was " don't do hot drinks!" She made us feel like we weren't welcome There was a german couple in here at the same time and she kept referring to them as "the foreigners" it was shocking and really backward. I get the impression the positive reviews here are from the locals. But sadly my review is that this place is very unwelcoming and a bit racist and the heavy set woman is ... A bit of a tw at

Made the mistake of going to this pub at lunch time for a meal with my wife. We were visiting Oxfordshire for her 30th birthday. Walked into a claustrophobic den and was confronted by an old heavy set woman who I figured out after a few moments was the land lady. She didn't greet us, she just stood immediately in front of us staring with the room of patrons and the silence was very unwelcoming. I wasn't sure if she was the land lady so I said 'Hi, how's it going?' I asked if they were doing still doing food but was told bluntly 'We don't do food'. I thought it was a joke at first and laughed uncomfortably. I told her we were visiting the area and found the pub through good reviews on the internet and she repeated 'we don't do food'. At this point the silence and staring was getting seriously uncomfortable. I apologised gave her a wave and walked out. As the land lady in a small crowded room she should have said hello at least, not wait for us to figure out who she was. A sign on the front stating that food is not served would have been good as well. Also, I don't want to say it but from the way she and the other patrons stared I would say they hadn't seen non-white people before. As a Londoner I don't get that kind of look very often but I definitely got it yesterday. If you're white, and you just want a drink you'll probably be treated a bit better than we were!

Very welcoming and friendly place. A proper village pub and nothing like the one in emmerdale 😉. Pleased I found it.
