Beware!!! Only order the Sunday lunch if you haven't eaten for a week. It's massive😅 All joking apart, the food was lovely, as we're the staff, and with great company it was a great lunch.

Food is very good. Staff are very friendly. In the Summer the garden very nice. Pub atmosphere is very friendly, clientele are good people no rowdiness. The interior is redolent of a very old English Pub.

Great staff, delicious food, best beer garden in Witney!

If you want a fantastic Sunday roast you can't go wrong here. The minute you step in the bar you get the sense you will be looked after. And you do the food is outstanding the service is second to none.

Went for lunch on a Saturday and sat in the sun in the lovely garden. Staff so so friendly and welcoming and the food was both delicious and plentiful. Loved it and will be back soon for sure

We had a big Christmas meal for 18 of us here and it was such a brilliant experience. We had our own room and they had written us each our own place card. Our server, Mollie, was BRILLIANT even though it was only her second shift! Dietary requirements were all catered too carefully and thoughtfully. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was EXCELLENT. could not recommend enough, thank you for a lovely evening!

This place is great. Been frequenting here for years. Love the atmosphere and the garden is the best garden you'll find anywhere. Half price wine on Wednesdays, too!!!

As normal, the service was great, and the food was excellent.

My friend booked out the room for a party! The staff were lovely and so helpful! We could decorate how we wanted and were able to play music. The drinks weren’t too pricey and the downstairs is decorated so prettily! Definitely recommend.

Popped on for a quick lunch for one today and all was great. I had to change a few things around on my meal due to intolerances and the staff were really helpful. The place was spotlessly clean. The interior was really inviting and cosy. Brilliantly surprised by the garden and it’s beautiful river view. Will be back.

Wonderful pub. Great beer garden at the back. Food was awesome a year or so ago, then went with a really limited menu, but now happy to say the menu is back. Through all the menu changes though, the Sunday Roast is probably the best in Witney. TIP. Half price wine on Wednesday.

Poor bar management. Very small bar but organised by a queue. Took ages to be served. Should implement QR codes or recognise that people move around the bar.

Absolutely gorgeous garden area, one of the best I have seen in a while! Lots of space, lots of sunshine, lots of seating and available for hire. A bar outside as well. Very gorgeous and would love to come again!

Lovely food and specials on the menu with good service and atmosphere, We had a selection of starters to share including Burrata mozarella, homemade hummus and pitta and a baked camembert. For Main dishes , the Moules Frites special dish was out of this world good! Good value for money too considering food quality and menu. Would be nice to see more cocktail options although the ones we had were also amazing. Highly recommended

The food was incredible, the staff were so kind. They moved things around to fit us in, and even helped take care of my daughter so I could eat my food. Best roast I’ve had in a restaurant, but even if the food hadn’t been so great I’d have left smiling. Can’t recommend it enough.

We popped in to see if we could grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately the staff couldn't find any menus. They searched for a few minutes and then told us they'd print a copy and bring it to our table. Menu never arrived so we went and had a nice meal at the Blue Boar 👍🏻

Arrived for a quick lunch, no one eating in the pub and only 2 people before us waiting for food in the garden. Table next to us got their food which looked very over cooked, they weren’t given any cutlery and had to go and ask for it. Our cutlery arrived wrapped in what I can only describe as dirty tea towels! Waited forever for our cold meat order and in the end cancelled as couldn’t wait any longer. Beer was dreadful and very over priced. I had a bad experience here once before but decided to give them another go, It was so bad though I will not be giving them another chance!

Lovely location and a warren of little rooms and spaces to sit, bubbling river at the end of the beer garden. Henry the landlord and staff are friendly. Great cask ale on tap.

Lovely riverside garden and the food was great.

Food was good but expensive. Was disappointed that we weren't told by the staff serving us that they had a special offer of two for one on fish and chips which we would have had. Only spotted this when we went to the bar to sort out the wrong drink that had been brought out to us.

All members of staff were so polite and helpful! The Sunday roast with venisson was by far the best roast I've ever had, you have to try it if you go there! And the beer garden at the back is beautiful, very spacious, next to the river side, perfect for a nice lunch in the sun! A must go if you are around.

Great location for a drink and the staff are lovely however the food is not worth the price. We waited 2 hours for us to be served our main, they didn't realise we had finished our starter. They did rectify with free drinks! I do think they tried their best but I wouldn't eat food there again, defo would drink there tho!

Over 1 and a half hours wait for food tonight. Moody bar staff ignoring you at the bar and not serving people in order. Shame, as this is such a lovely place normally.

Such a shame. Good beer and wine. But 40 minutes sat there without anyone coming to take your order is not good enough. We've taken our cash elsewhere.

Patch & all the team helped me organise a birthday celebration last night at the Plough, catering and hosting for 20+ people is never an easy job. The Plough delivered on all fronts - the upstairs dining room looked Great and felt very cosy ( and such a good size ) we preordered from the main menu, everybody I’ve spoken too has said the food was very tasty! Thankyou so much for making my/our night so memorable! Keep up the Great work guys Gerry.

Menu changes all the time, always good. You might need to wait for a bit for your food but worth it.

Food ok, limited choice, slow service. Nothing extra done when told it was someone's birthday.

Lovely cosy village pub, friendly helpful staff, food would of been nice if it arrived hot, I would suggest investing in a hot plate to warm up the plates. Poor baby changing facilities as located in freezing cold outbuilding.

What a fabulous night at the Plough tonight. Food was amazing, we had a lovely Rib Eye Steak. great staff and to finish off the night a fantastic Expresso Martini with caramel. Great atmosphere and great music playing in the background.

Wonderful pub, warm atmosphere and amazing food

We had the Sunday roast it was lovely the home made Yorkshire puddings were amazing. Highly recommend this traditional pub serving fantastic food with a great atmosphere and excellent service.

No food on Tuesday evenings unfortunately (quiz nites usually the reason) but enjoyed a nice pint in this traditional Cotswold pub, the oldest in Witney. The beer garden abuts the River Windrush. A really friendly and helpful staff member; suggesting alternatives in the food department. Real cosy feel to the place.

Basic but good food ,beautifully cooked . Fantastic staff had to leave a tip .

Nice little pub with a surprisingly large garden. Unfortunately there weren't may beers on due to a lorry drivers strike but looking forward to going back again.

The food was quite good but the service was appalling there was a lack of staff and the food took 1hr 30mins to get to us.

Excellent food, attentive service, no wonder the garden was full at 7.30 on a Thursday evening. Simple but very tasty menu. Beautifully presented. Lamb kofta delicious. Best pub Garden in the centre of Witney backing on to the river. Well done to all the staff from those in the kitchen to front of house - all working very hard to keep customers happy and it paid off :-)

Lack of ability to cope with government guidelines... combined with the inadequacy to offer bar snacks led to a disappointing trip. All the plough, none of the horse. Sad.

A really chilled place to go. Great roast dinner. Nice vibe. Try and spot to kingfisher on the river at the end of the garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and will be back soon.

I've only been here once, but it was a great little pub. Friendly breakfast staff, warm fire and dog friendly! I have seen that it has a great garden which I'll be frequenting. Seemed to be a good selection of pints available and a reasonable selection of bottled cider. Really looking forward to trying the food one day soon! Only slight negative is that there was lots of low hanging lights, which was a little annoying, but easily forgotten.

Accomodated us as a table of 6 for a last minute sunday Lunch booking. The Log fire was on which made the place cosy and warm and the place was nicely decorated to get in the xmas spirit. Food was great with good portion sizes, will return.

One of my favourite pubs. Great food, great beer, great people. The best pub in witney in the summer (with the awesome river garden), and super cosy and snug in the winter.

Limited menu but what there was to choose from was really quite tasty. Wasn't obvious at first that food was available. Beer was a good selection. And the general feel was warm and welcoming.

The Plough is a hidden away gem but gets busy with events such as Pub Quiz Tuesdays, Half Price wines on Wednesdays and 2 for 1 fish and chips on Fridays. They have a very nice function room called the Loom Room that can host 25 people easily.

Very enjoyable homemade fishfinger sandwiches.

4 of us went for lunch and I had fish finger sandwich, the fish fingers were excellent and there was enough for a good lunch with a beverage.

Stunning. Food is excellent and the staff are better. Their Sunday roast is the best in Oxfordshire.

Missing Sam.... not the same since Massey left. Kitchen closes early, food is limited, missing normal bar snacks. Won’t be going back.

Changing review based on recent visit, since under new management. Maybe down to a bad day, but service and food in particular were way below previous standard. Waited over an hour for food with no apology at pre booked table. Food was dry chewy and overcooked, all seemed either microwaved or left in ovens all day to keep warm, shame as this was previously a 'go to' for a decent sunday roast.
