Love this place Food is fantastic, we wanted to share our main & they served it up as such As previous reviews show this place is magic & all staff both times have been attentive & lovely We will be back very soon !

Warren & his TEAM, Have made a great impression on this pub. Fine dining at affordable prices and great customer service throughout. Nothing is ever too much trouble. What more can I say, we have group lunches, family gatherings and lunches for the past 12 months, seems to get better every single time we visit. I have already booked for Christmas Day lunch!!!! It’s that good

We went for a Sunday lunch today and it was fabulous - us four adults had Steak Frittes with Berlonaise Sauce - steaks cooked perfectly and so tender and the sauce was to to die for - I didn't have dessert but those in the party that did really loved them and the kids loved their food too

Had the beer battered cod and chips again. It’s really really good. Ate in the garden with our dog Henry who enjoyed a few of the dog treats on offer. Lovely village pub great value and service.

Went with friends on a Friday evening and we had an excellent meal, food was well cooked with generous portions, service was efficient and friendly. Will definitely visit again

Had a great evening meal here with friends. It’s a cosy and friendly pub, with very friendly and attentive service. My vegan friends were asked for their opinion on the burgers they’d ordered, and the desserts they had were tailored to their own requirements, so they were very pleased. Reserving a table online was quick and easy, and helped to make the evening a relaxed and fun one. Will definitely visit again.

Really lovely meal, haven’t been here for a long time and it didn’t disappoint. Great menu choice, tasty food would definitely recommend

great food nice english pub shame about front of house manger who i found very sharp and no people skills first time we had sunday lunch we sat at table having a drink he came over and said do you want any thing else or the bill felt as though he wanted to get us out i let this go did not say anything paid bill and left second time i had paid bill moved to bar talking to fiends he interrupted and ask if i had paid my bill said yes to him and my wife showed him our receipt he did not apologize did not say anything third time on sunday the 3 / 12/2023 we had a very good dinner with my son and his wife paid bill went to gents returned to table and my sons wife said he ask if bill had been paid with that i must admit i was very angry and let him know i was it is a real shame because i enjoy the food and is local for me

This is our first visit. It’s a lovely traditional old English pub. I imagine the building is historic. It’s nicely appointed inside with refurbed loos. We both had the cod and chips which was excellent - best I can recall ever having in a pub. Nice fish cooked perfectly. Accompanied by a nice pint of local draught bitter. This pub was closed for 18 months but now new management. Jody is great on front of house & there’s a fully fledged Exec Chef in kitchen - which shows. They deserve to do well.

This is our second visit since this delightful pub reopened, and it was every good as the first time. The food is superb and obviously not microwaved. We recommend this pub unreservedly.

Party of 6 had dinner on Saturday evening. Attentive bar staff on arrival. Good choice on menu with a soup and fish of the day Portions were generous and well presented and cooked. Service was good. Restaurant was busy with diners. An enjoyable evening and good value for money.

Popped in today for a light lunch and couldn’t fault the food or the service. Lovely freshly cooked food, good sized portions and the chips were superb! We will definitely be back. The only criticism is that the garden could do with a tidy up.

Super Sunday roast! All you could wish for. And great value at £10 per person. A really great place. Super service in a quality pub restaurant.

First visit, 3 of us decided to pop in for lunch (without booking) as was recommended by someone who lives locally. We weren’t disappointed. Really pleasantly surprised at just how nice the food was and what a little gem of a place this is. Really delicious, fresh food with a good range and choice of different foods too. Service great and pub lovely. We were amazed it wasn’t busier as it was so nice. Also pretty good value. Definitely one to remember. Thank you Red Lion 😊

One of the best brunch’s I have been to the staff were really friendly and could not be any more helpful it was a well thought out drag brunch and everything ran smoothly the food was lovely and catered for everyone

Have been 3 times since it has reopened and had excellent food each time. The tapas is very good and the main courses are even better.
