Absolutely amazing portions! Chips were very chunky and tasty. Fish tasted amazing. Excellent menu with plenty to choose.

Ordered obviously due to current situ, called and collected within 15 mins even though super busy. Large portion sizes, very good value for money not to mention the quality. Would 100% recommend if you’re in the area or visiting.

Popped in as it was raining The old red hut when it was down seafront had the best name. The daughter had chicken burger n chips. She really enjoyed it. The boy had cod bites and chips. He enjoyed I had cod n chips. You also get peas and cuppa and slice of bread n butter which was very nice The only small issue ( if) any the peas were drying at the bottom of the ramekin. Due to over heating or microwave use Apart from that very nice food. Place clean. Friendly

Popped in to The Red Hut chippy while on a day out in South Shields. Sat indoors as it was a tad chilly. The fish and chips were the nicest I've had in a long time; tasty, 'home cooked' chips and beautifully flaky, tasty cod in a light, tasty batter. Came with a drink and a round of bread and butter for £7.70. It was such a good sized portion that my wife and I shared it and both felt like we'd had a good lunch afterwards. (The owner even offered us an extra plate when he saw we were sharing.) The service was courteous but unobtrusive. The fish was cooked to order so there was a wait - but it was worth it. I would highly recommend this place and would happily go again.

Popped in on my lunch break. I had not pre-ordered, so I opted to get a chicken burger. Service was rather quick, I only waited just under 10 minutes. Food was okay, fries weren't great but still edible and the burger was tasty but I feel it lacked a bit of seasoning. Paid £6 for the meal which I think was pretty good. I will return to order one of their specials soon, because from all accounts they are great.

Wolfmann’s is a pretty unique place in South Shields. Great healthy food, lovely surroundings and very nice staff. Our favourites are the Korean Fried Chicken and anything from the sea! There’s a distinctly Asian vibe with lots of the food but they also do great breakfasts, burgers and a fantastic Sunday lunch. There is also a lovely selection of cakes in the cabinet if you fancy something sweet. We need to make sure that good quality neighbourhood eateries like this stay the distance, so if you are looking for somewhere in South Shields that won’t disappoint, definitely try Wolfmann’s!

Let’s be honest, the food is what matters, and in this case it’s beautiful. However, as a reviewer, I need to paint the whole picture. The restaurant is a small, shabby eatery with no proper bar and it’s quite run down. The toilet is directly off the dining room so not ideal. The service is good and the food is tasty and well priced, but if you’re going for a special occasion like a birthday, I’d have to recommend you go somewhere more upmarket. This was a curry place for years and they haven’t spent money on it since. I hope they do well, and I’ll continue to go, but it feels like half a job. Dining out is a treat for most of us and we want the entire experience.
