The Red House in Staffordshire Moorlands

Visited mid-week for lunch, spur of the moment, never been there before. The Guinness was a great pint and the mixed grill was absolutely faultless. Proper pub, Proper food, looking forward to going back.

A really pleasant surprise. Since it shut back in the early part of the year, we weren't sure if it would pick up again. It has. New chefs, excellent chicken schnitzel burger and not too expensive. We'll be visiting the red house again soon.

Lovely Sunday Lunches! We have had regular Sunday roast dinners here for 3 months or more and have never been disappointed! Beautifully cooked meat and vegetables and nice gravy. I had a large chicken breast and roast veggies and my partner had a vegetarian chicken fillet, vegetables and veggie gravy. The portions are generous and the plate the food comes on is large. We had CruzCampo lager which we like and is sadly not available in many places. The inside environment is pleasant, tables are not too close together and the atmosphere is good. I need to follow the chef and kitchen staff wherever they go (because the food is so fab), when the kitchen closes for good on Sunday 2nd June!!!!

This pub does not get enough credit as it deserves. Visited today for sunday dinner and oh my god, one of the best homemade dinner we had in Stoke. Think it would help massively if the pub would concentrate a bit more on the marketing side and social media to promote their delicious food. Not quite sure on the pub ownership, it looks independent more than a chain, which it should made it more flexible to promote it a lot more. We have also tried the normal evening menu on a different o as and this has not disappointed either. Very very good and competitive prices considering the market value, the food portion is just over the normal size as well. Desserts homemade too. I wish I could share this experience to more people and hopefully people will visit this place more, it truly deserves to be part of the food awards. The place has a huge carpark and it is easy to find, plus they have a very decent selection of drinks. If you want some good quality food, please give it a chance. This review is solely based on my experience and it is not an ad. The dinners were £11 each.

We had food here for the first time today, and oh my goodness it was amazing! Nothing on our plates was processed and the portion sizes was extremely generous. We were over the moon with the quality of our food and the excellent customer service. The childrens meals are incredible... proper battered chicken breast and fresh seasonal veg- very impressive! Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were so pleasant to our children. It truly was a fantastic experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this pub. We shall most definitely be back! Thank you.

Great little pub. Little garden for the children to play. Lovely in the sunshine as they have outside seating. I didn’t really enjoy the lettuce in the salads as it’s very bitter, a friend also said the same. The small plates are great! They have local beers and ciders too.

It’s been many years since I was at the Red House - but I highly recommend it. Portions were large and the home made creamy chicken pie was to die for. Great lunch or dinner spot in the area.

After a lot of research on the area.Wanted a pub near Jacksons Nursery.Chose the Red House and glad I did. Both had lovely meals.Recomend the fish and chips and sure to go again when we go to Jacksons.

Drove past this pub daily so thought I would give it a go I called up Wednesday to book table for family and was told no need to book just pop along got there at 5.30 and was told restaurant was full we even offered to sit outside so little one could play in the park then told no food today there was a hand full of people in what a waste of time and poor customer service

Just called on the off chance ,not booked a table but they fitted us in. The staff are so friendly, the food was great and service was brilliant. Didn't have to wait long either. Thank you red house ,will definitely call again.🙂👍👍

I can honestly say I've had one of the best meals I've had in recent years. The homemade chips are amazing and everything is delicious and extremely well presented. The menu is extensive, which includes light bites and smaller plates for those with smaller appetites. There's even plenty of choice for the children too. The desserts are amazing and great value for money. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very attentative, we will definitely be going back.

Went there Tuesday with the family couldn't fault it. The food was excellent quality and huge portions excellent service and the price matched everything else. All in all a very good experience we will definitely be back and would have no hesitation to recommend this place 10/10

Went the red house on friday with my wife for something to eat great pub food was amazing the owners and staff were amazing too deftinley will be going back.

The menu here is amazing, food all freshly cooked and home made. Portion size and value for money is spot on. The staff are all really friendly and it has a great atmosphere. It was a chilly day and the fire was lit. Highly recommended.

Went today Sunday 5th feb have been before 4 people in party had game pie Steak mince and potatoe pie Tai curry and cod meal Followed by deserts Al food exceptional home cooked taste gravy to die for real chips takes you back years when food had real depth of taste deserts delicious staff make you feel like a valued customer could not fault anything If you want a meal to remember use the red house

Friendly staff, didn’t have food but heard foods ok. This place hasn’t changed in 50 years . Decent car park at the back . Does require TLC but it’s an old pub and been here a lot longer than me .

Visited today tor lunch. First impression wasn't too good as everywhere seemed a bit tired. However, the food was absolutely lovely. Fresh home made dishes. Excellent produce..... Lots of choice.

Great to take the Grandkids. Don't go between 3pm & 4pm not able to park due to school pick ups. Good range of beer and plesent bar staff

Haven't been here for years. Read some reviews and looked at the menu...all good. Took my sister for lunch and was not disappointed. Staff friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely gorgeous. Couldn't finish my steak and Guinness pie, stuffed full of lovely tender meat, with beautiful homemade pastry, very tasty. Great value. Will definitely be going again.

My sister and her husband were back in Stoke for the weekend after traveling down from Northumberland so we went to the red house for a family get to gether , some great drought beers on pump and the food was fabulous, I had a rump steak served garlic and lemon butter, massive beer battered mushroom's home made chips and salad, I really can't say anything apart from I enjoyed the food and the beer .Ian

Got us in for dinner at short notice ,we'll kept ales and dinner was fab Thai currywasthe best I've had in ages and my partner had lasagne also great ,pub was well staffed and busy but very clean a great credit to the owner and staff
