The Red Hot Goodies in Newport

Worst in Newport, nothing special about anything, tasteless garbage, only used the place because the best was closed on a Tuesday, repo chicken, tough meat on top , the ingredients are shocking, hardly anything in the dishes, never use this crap again , surprised anyone uses the place.

Last time the food was excellent but rang through tonight and was told it would be an hour and cash . Last order bank holiday weekend August paid over the phone no problem nearly all things same ordered but £8 more expensive £38 last time £46 this not everybody keeps cash but good enough last time .

The food is superb here. I’ve been a customer for years and always delicious food. salt & chilli chicken, sweet & sour chicken balls, beef chow mein and chicken curry with Singapore rice some of my favourites. family run business which is lovely to see. great value for money

This used to be a go to place but after a while i returned and I was disappointed with the food, I usually use dragon palace but today I changed and I wish I never never again. Food was ready on arrival also we got some freebies always a nice touch but food wasn’t a delight

Wow just wow been ordering from here past few months and I speak as I find the food is always delicious.i preorderd for my food tonite and less than 40 mins after opening food was here the best sweet and sour chicken I've ever tasted and portions huge food pipping hot.keep up the good work and thanks for a delicious meal.

Used to be pretty good for what you pay but lately quality and time to receive food has been very poor I guess you get what you pay for now.

Waiting 2 hours for our food and it was very cold when delivered 😫 we always order from here but last few.times been late and cold

Would like to say I ordered food for me and my son while I was out got home to not all food not being delivered phoned red hot goodies to explain what was delivered and they brought it out within 15mins can’t fault them only place I use I use for Chinese food

Ordered egg fried rice and chips curry sauce chicken balls worst food I’ve ever teased chicken was so hard and tasted funny rice wae mashy ring up and tell them and they say it was cooked fresh noway was that fresh and didn't even offer a replacement of the food😠😤

Lastnight I ordered egg fried rice beef in black bean sauce it was so watery wen put on the plate made the rice all sogy the meat was sogy aswell always used to order from here never again will I be ordering again

Ordered food at 18.03 was told delivery would be an hour, so i rang them to check the wareabouts of my food to be told it will be another 20 minutes when i said this isn't acceptable waiting this length of time for food the gentleman on the phone told me that the delivery time is estimated! The food was hot but very tasteless. I will not order from here again 😒 awful customer service.

Order food ahead of time as have done before was told would be the first order at 5pm when delivery started waited 45 mins for nothing to arrive, contacted the take away to be told no order was taken asked if they could add something to order as was their mistake to be told no as no order was put in, total disregard to loyal customers 332

Ordered food from here last night two of the dishes were chicken in black bean sauce. When dishing the food and putting over the chicken in black bean sauce we discovered a huge king prawn which ruined the whole of the food as everything tasted of fish. We phoned the shop immediately and the man we spoke to was extremely rude he kept telling us that it was our mistake as we had ordered the special. We told him that we had ordered it under the chicken dishes not the chefs special but he insisted that it was our fault. He said that the chefs special contained 4 meats beef pork chicken and prawns so I asked why did the dish we received only contained chicken and 1 huge king prawn. I told him that if someone had an allergy to prawns it could of made them seriously ill and I was reporting him to the food standards agency. He was a very rude man and said go on then do it and put the phone down on me. The whole meal cost £34 and we were unable to eat any of it as it smelt of fish and looked disgusting, the spring rolls and chicken balls were soggy the chips were cold . Would not order anything off them again and I've reported them to environmental health with pictures of the food. If I had the option i wouldnt give them any stars. If we ordered the house special can you please tell us why there was no beef or pork in the dish and only 1 prawn....you need to be reported either way you are a shambles of a business and your attitude towards customers Is shocking. Why anyone would order from you I don't know your food is by far the worst and everyone I've spoken to says the same. How you are still open god only knows.

Ordered food Friday evening. It didn't take long but the delivery driver who name was apparently Rob was so rude, questioned us as to why we didn't answer the phone to him not sure why he was calling anyway then questioned where we ordered it from and when told red hot goodies literally threw the food at my partner before walking away and muttering something. I rang to complain but the person on other end just wasn't really bothered just said he new. Well that's the last of my money being spent with them. Food wasn't all that either rice was like mush and the noodles had no flavour 😕

I have been eating from Red Hot Goodies for a few years now and its always really nice with big portions... I have laugh with all the staff too. its always busy so I would go and pick it up. Best in Newport for me without a doubt .. Jamie

Ordered food special fried rice and egg fried rice's looked like mash potatoe and I mite aswell had plain rice no taste what so ever. Chef needs 2 perk up the cooking and take sum pride in the food they cook. Won't b ordering from here again sad 😞

Worst beef curry I've ever had. Beef was completely inedible, you couldn't even chew it! Awful curry.

Absolutely disgusting service. Ordered at mid day for 18.45 pm rang 3 times told lie after lie refunded at door by driver and meal taken back after being binnrd. Lol so someone is going to have a meal delivered that is over 2 hours old and remved from bin. Go red hot goodies customer service and food quality zero. Where is returned meal going ?????? No contact during delay but once meal delivered and refund given contacted immediately to return food Lol. Newport City Council perhaps a delivery food hygiene visit is required??

Went in here today for my first time and I expected it to be quite pricey, looking at the portions they looked quite small but boy I was wrong, i was barely able to finish it. Ordered Roasted Pork Chow mein and spring rolls all for £8 and the price to food ratio is very good. Lots of food, not too pricey, and the customer service was amazing, we even got to order 15mins before the shop opened. Very good food and always hot, would definetly come and eat here again!

I rang up at 5pm to order a meal to be delivered for 7.30pm....waited till 7.45pm rang them to be told my meal still in shop would be another 20mins.....I can't believe how late they are concerning I rang my order in at 5pm......if they don't turn up soon will go somewhere else as this is not the first time this as happened.....

Ordered food at 18:45 which stated would be 60-75 minutes.. After 60 minutes we called for a update which the lady said she would check now how it’s doing .. we then heard her stating to a colleague “have you seen this order I havnt either” in which she come back on the phone after a good 5 mins of waiting and hearing the above.. and stated “your food is still cooking” obviously I stated we heard you saying basically our order has been missed which she lied and said no it has been cookin, she said it will be with us 30 minutes after 30 minutes with apologies I called back which they stated it would be here very soon it’s out for delivery… 40 minutes later it then arrived!!!! 2 hours ten minutes and not even a bag of crackers for the utter S**T food and service! Never again Average food poor service I would rather be straight and not lie 😂

Poor delivery service. We placed a £35.50 order 1/10/2033 at 7.50pm. Our food eventually arrived 2hours later !!! At, 9.55pm. Pathetic! Wouldn’t recommend.

If I could put 0 stars I would!! Terrible service been waiting over 2 hours for a delivery, ordered 7:30pm now 9:45pm and still no delivery called them 3 times!! For an update and ETA told it’s on its way & Still no delivery, it’s only a 9 minute drive away don’t take an order you can’t deliver !! waste of time and money won’t be ordering from them again I don’t recommend using this Chinese, very poor service can’t comment about the food as didn’t arrive!!

Just had a meal delivered, delivery took 2 hours and the meal was stone cold!! Chips had to be scraped into the bin and not enough curry sauce so the rice was dry!! Wil definitely not be ordering from here again, total waste of £32!!!

We have used the takeaway many times in the past but won't use them again. We ordered food at 7.15 p.m and were told it would be an hour which we didn't mind as it was a Saturday. The food eventually arrived at 9.10 p.m, after 2 calls to them, it was cold and not what we ordered. We ordered chow mein and was given chop suey which had a strange taste. Not impressed at all

Excellent food but almost 2hrs for a delivery is becoming a regular issue even though the website stated 60-75 minutes. Response on the phone was simply, sorry we’ve been busy. Unless you’re close enough to pick it up yourself, don’t bother.

This was our first order from RHG as our usual was putting up prices way, way above the average. Based on a friend's recommendation we ordered a large birthday banquet. Everything was really nice, hot and competitively priced. Delivery was spot on. We even got a few extras which were much appreciated. Definitely ordering here again next time!

We have been ordering" Duck with pekin sauce" for years, we were always satisfied with this order and with the service, but when we decided to try a new dish" crispy shredded beef in chilli sauce" a terrible disappointment, it turned out that it was just lard and my companion and I could not believe what we got, we both tasted a few bites but it was impossible to eat it as, a result the whole dish ended up in the garbage and we felt terrible afterwards. I really don't recommend this dish at all!

Having tried various takeaways since moving to the area, we keep going back to Red Hot Goodies... Collection times are accurate, and they are always on time. Can't fault the quality of the food, the portion sizes are superior to takeaways in the area and excellent value for money..., and they give you a Free main ('freebie') when you spend over a certain amount. Highly recommended.

Ordered meals for six people on New Year’s Eve with home delivery. Despite what must have been an incredibly busy period for the business, our food arrived bang on time, was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Would certainly use this takeaway again and would highly recommend to others.

Quick delivery. Loved the food it was all very tasty. I would have given 5 stars but I gave 4 because our order came to £29.40 but we were charged £33.40 and it doesn't say anywhere on the website about a delivery charge which im guessing is why we paid and extra £4? Would recommend 👌

We have ordered from this place for years but ordered food last night we found 2 hairs, now 1 hair no big deal we just threw that bit of food away but then when we found the other hair we couldn’t eat any of it. We rang up, they wouldn’t refund us, they were rude as hell. The guy on the phone said *if you want to ring up Newport city council then you can* I said what?? Why would I ring them?? Anyway long story short I explained we found 2 hairs and that we have ordered from them for years and couldn’t eat any of the food and they were just rude and wouldn’t give a refund. And apparently you can ring up the city council over a Chinese 😂😂

Ordered food Saturday night, first time. The wrong order turned up. Then had to wait a further 1 hour 15 minutes for our food, it arrived. Chips looked reheated in a microwave chicken balls were over cooked batter was hard and chicken was tough, the rice also tasted reheated. Not fresh. Not happy and won't return. Both my brother and myself have had bad bellys since eating it.

Ordered food 6.10 was told it be an hour over 2 and half hrs later it arrived .phoned at 7.45 told it was just being cooked Phone again 8.12 was told its on the way phoned 8.35 was told its been sent out.so I said you said that half hour ago and if it comes now it will be cold was told rudely well that's not our fault cancel then .when It came 8.45 cold so I complained and they hung up on me .Great customer service

The first time we have been here on daughters recommendation, had a set meal with extra shredded crispy beef in chilli sauce, were told it would be 1hour 25mins. Meal arrived 15mins early,piping hot and masses of it,haven't had a Chinese meal like that before,fantastic,once my waistline goes down will definitely be going back for more,well done RHG beautiful.

Really disappointed, we ordered at 6.15pm online with a 1hr wait, we got our food at 8.50pm. After 2 hrs we even drove down there as they were not answering their phone. When we got there we were told it was on it's way, so we went back home and it still had not arrived. Phoned again and they did answer this time to tell us the driver had taken it back and it was on it's way to us again, it finally arrived cold and soggy and the crispy chilli beef had no chilli in it I'm sure. I appreciate it was a new years eve that everybody was ordering as we could not go out, but almost 3 hrs for food is ridiculous.

Food was standard not much flavour. Chow Meon was bland. However was told delivery would take 1.20 mins. Called after 1.30 mins and was told it will be there any minute. Called when it came to 2 hours called again to cancel and made me wait for 5 minutes, driver turned up no apology and the call. Was cut off. Would recommend at all

Great food. Hot fresh and tasty every time

I ordered one of my usual dishes, salt and chilli chicken, started to eat it and thought no taste, as if no flavourings or spices added. Phone them back, told me to bring the meal back, explained no flavour, could see no spices added, no colour to the onions. Took the meal off me came back, little bit of colour to the onions as if spices have been added, got back home tried it. Still hardly any flavour, this lack of flavour on this dish has happed twice. This meal was always hot and spicy, but no good now.

Ordered from there and had bloody chicken balls and pink chicken balls rang them up and they called me a lier not happy

Ordered 4 meals and repeated back by the operator. Collected the food and 2 meals missing but the accompaniments there. Phoned up and apparently order correct. No offer to sort this out whatsoever. Would have been nice if they offered to fast track the food....

Absolutely disgusting food. We Ordered for a birthday meal disappointing beyond words it was totally rubbish. I called and told them that the chow mein was like rubber the chicken tasted awful and the spare ribs were all fat. Their response was there was nothing they could do. Would never recommend this place it should be shut down. Not even a 0 star but have to click on 1 star or not able to post.
