Today i been there with my fam but worst experience whn i place order nobody told m kitchn will close early today. The guy come with starter told us i need to serve all food kitchen will b close quickly. If happens like this why u took the order. Nd u need to tell us before not after earning more than £70 .just we start to eat our starter. He comes with roti as well. Like we are stupid need to finish all quickly if we need to eat like this without break nothing we can easily eat @ home. We lived in oldbury all the time prefer to go in red cow but this time worst experience . They hv zero sense the guy giv us plate once. No sense we need new plates affter starter. Thn my brother go to kitchen nd ask for new plates. No tissue no fresh salad. Like today we went over there not for celebration . Even to insult overselves. Decided to never ever go there. I went to kitchen to ask guy why u dont tell us before he just continues laugh no sense .. i suggest to do nt go ovr tgere

Saw my chicken was pink rang for a refund to be greeted by a man that hardly spoke English passed on 3 times to other members if staff that clearly knew English they just knew they was in the wrong and didn’t want to communicate with me completely unacceptable.

Always good to pop in. The food is great and it's good to see locals in there.

Went for a party in their function room upstairs. Was surprisingly well decorated and the food and service excellent.

If you’re looking for food poisoning this is the place to go! Absolutely vile, pink and grey chicken full of veins 🤮🤮 wouldn’t even give the scraps to my dogs.

Was not impressed with taste of food delivered. I expect a Indian to taste like it . Not to get a dish that tasted like English gravy . Never have I tasted the dish I was sent like that before. Won't be using here again . Used to be really nice from here . Unfortunately this was not to my taste buds I'm afraid . Others may like this but not for me

We went to the wedding of my friend Narinder's son Sandeep at the Heritage Banqueting Suite at the Red Cow 🐄 The food and service were excellent 👌 with the waiters and bar staff being very attentive and catering for our every need. I'd would certainly recommend the Heritage Banqueting Suite for anyone wishing to hold a wedding as the service, food and atmosphere were excellent

First time ordering from here and never again! I noticed the restaurant has quite a lot of positives reviews and a few negative ones stating the meat being off or raw. I thought I would give them the benefit of doubt. And now I wish I hadn’t! The chicken was slimy and smelt off and they try to cover it with a lot of sauce and spice so you will not notice the smell. It honestly made me sick! As I have worked in catering before for many years and I know for a fact they are selling out of date meat which I have informed Enviromental Health to investigate! This is disgusting how they are taking advantage of their customers! Please if you decide to ignore my complaint that is entirely up to you but please for your own safety and wellbeing when ordering any meat from here smell it carefully and check throughly before eating. Best of luck.

Not happy with the mix grill. Definitely not cooked fresh and has been precooked. Tikka dry. Wings dry. Sheekh Kebab Definitely cooked frozen and reheated. Lamb chops dry. Lolli pop was ok. Chilli chicken was nice. Definitely won't be ordering a mix grill again.

Went to an engagement party. Food was really nice, service was good but they did try and keep taking away the food before we had finished eating. Apart from that it was really good.

Been twice, both times the chap that took my order and payment was sarcastic.. I ordered two grilled mains and was only given one salad, I asked for an extra one (little lettuce onion bag) and he charged me 😳 bit of a joke really. That being said the food is decent, but would rather spend my money elsewhere.

We have been visiting this place since 2018. The place to go for mixed grills. But what has happened recently with the quality? Our last visit (01/01/2024), there was definitely something wrong with the normal quality. The food was unfortunately both bland and tasted off. This is not normal for this establishment. My dining guests who consumed this complained of upset stomach issues (red meat and poultry). The seafood which I ate was definitely not good and tasted bad/off. Very disappointing, possibly we had a bad batch or dare we say re-heated food? Don’t think we will return which is a great shame.

Been here a few times for a few different functions and has always been good. Decent venue and easy to get to for locals.

This place was beyond incredible!!! We ordered the Red cow Mixed Grill and the selection of food was phenomenal. The flavours of each of the foods was distinct and delicious. The service was extremely friendly and everyone who worked there was brilliant. I highly suggest booking a table beforehand on the weekend because we went the night before and it was packed. Overall, I highly suggest this restaurant for a an incredible meal and a fun time!!!

Ordered online and had to complaint the order was not right and they put the phone down on me. I had to order rest of meal elsewhere.

Most of the grill places in the Midlands are ok, it's more of a case of " pile'm high, sell'm cheap". Sometimes to much food colouring, I've seen purple kebabs. The foods ok at Red Cow but I haven't found one that compares to grill places in the south, my current favourite is Punjabi Dhaba in Hounslow.

Went on a Thursday evening to the Red cow. Thought the worst as there was 1 table occupied by diners. How wrong we were! We went for the ‘fat cow’ chilli chips, masala chips, lollipop chicken, chilli lollipops and 3 naans. We asked for the chips and naans to be upgraded on the fat cow as it only comes with plain but it was lost in translation so we got 3 plain naans and 2 chips additional to what we wanted. The fat cow grill itself was sensational. Lamb chops - great taste, perfect amount of charring. All the chicken was juicy and full of flavour. Fish pakora - nice light batter, lots of meaty fish. The chilli chips were unreal, so so good! Definitely recommend them with the chilli lollipops. Certainly no scrimping on the portions! The only slight criticism is the grill wasn’t sizzling when it came out but it was on a oven tray as it was so big! It says on the menu it serves 8-10, there was 5 of us and we were all stuffed. Would definitely go back, be great to go when it’s busy. One of the best mixed grills we’ve all had, up there with Champys, new hen and chickens etc. Update… we went back for our Xmas mixy, again quiet inside in the dining area but the mixy was first class. Had the £42 fat cow again. Was 6 of us, with 2 cobras to top it off we were all stuffed. The chilli chips and chilli lollipop are a must. Chips are battered and covered in chilli sauce…. Unbeatable! Football was on prime too! Thanks red cow for rounding off this year with a class mixy!

This was the second time visiting the Red Cow as part of our 'lads group' monthly tour of desi pubs around the West Midlands. On our first visit, this place came out on top for its food, and the second visit did not disappoint. Between the six of us we ordered a 'fat cow' mixed grill, chicken lollipops, chilli chicken lollipops (x2), chilli king prawns (x2), Keema naan (x3), chilli chips (x3) as well as a Massala sauce and a Madras sauce for a bit of lubrication! Everything served was freshly cooked to perfection, and taste is just exquisite! The only negatives I would add are that the mixed grill is served in a baking tray rather than a traditional serving grill platter, lighting is too bright, and decor drab...but that is not a concern when the food is so good! Currently salivating over the thought of the chilli chips...so good!

Hello, Been customer since long. Yesterday ordered Mix grill, Fish pakora, Naans for collection around 5ish. Having reached home , found mix grill was not fresh and no fried onions which normally you would when eat in. Didn't taste nice at all. Naans too hard and not crispy/thin. Fish pakora look didn't sound fresh either. We know our food well. Not good on this occasion. It takes an hr to come and collect/be back and disappointing. Didn't have time to drive all the way back in person. Normally Tony in kitchen and quite good with food. Thanks Mr P Singh

Not impressed . Usually food is lovely but today the food was tasteless and Bland ! Do disappointing! Not sure if someone else cooked the food / seasoned it but they let the food down today .

The guys really enjoyed their mixed grill. I had the veg biryani and some chilli gobi. Food was ok for vegetarians. Masala chips were great!!

I shared a curry with my parents here. Was a lovely curry we even shared the curry, rice and a plate of chips as it was enough for 3 people and it was delicious definitely will go again for a meal here.

Food was nice had fat cow mixed grill £42 said it feeds 8-10 people only took 4 of us to finish it and payed for chicken pakora never got that and only got 1 chips when it says u get two so not happy and I travelled from sheldon 40 minutes drive to get there

Not a bad word to say at all about the red cow. The dishes are spot on and delicious every time, and the service is excellent too. Definitely our go to curry house, and we always look forward to eating from here. ☺️

Nice place for events. friendly and helpful staff with full knowledge of menu. Easily locate take 87 from city hospital birmingham and get off on Smethwick local council bus stop. One min walk from there. Food was average. But services and atmosphere was great.

Been twice now for a takeaway, first time I had the “big cow” and last night I had the “baby cow” mixed grill.. both very good the baby cow grill is enough for two people if you have sides… tasty meats, soft lamb and my mrs liked the prawns 👍🏻 balti sauce was also full of flavour.. will deffo return

Red has always been a pleasant vist even when I go there to buy mix grill for family but didn't like how the bar guy came in kitchen and took a sheesh kebab and started to eat it in front of me as a customer not impressed also could have cleaned pub a bit at rear seen mice there

This was our second visit to the Red Cow, we were not disappointed, those who wanted hot curry enjoyed their spicy meal, I enjoyed my chicken tikka masala and my pint of IPA. Everyone went home well fed and we will revisit as next time we need to have the Red Cow sharing platter, the fish pakora is legendary.

Amazing venue with stunning food

Nice place, full experienced staff and the Owner is responsible and carefully person,help all staff, customers feel relaxed, getting order on time and wonderful things is you see all area near and clean.

Called in here on the off chance & will definitely call in again when in the area. It appears that the restaurant is run as a separate business in the pub but that made no difference at all. We ordered a different curry each & they were served up in about 15 mins. The presentation was very nice but the curries themselves were superb & in our opinion were worthy of being served up in a stand alone restaurant & far better than what we had had 2 days earlier in Birmingham in an Indian restaurant, almost half the price & more generous portions. Top class lads. Thank you.

I ordered my food which was 5 items which come up to £30+, they claim someone in my property took the food , yet I ordered that food with my very last money just so I could take my mental health pills and they kept debating and nothing was resolved unfortunately so now a hungry mental patient has to starve all night until she can find a food parcel to eat then take her medication I am really sorry for those viewing this that are interested in eating there , it was my first time ordering as I was told to order by my friend saying they are really reliable however unfortunately this has just proved delivery service is poorly adequate but hopefully they can send me a compensation refund to show that are a reasonable bar and restaurant pub

Absolutely disgraceful phone manner, I had Covid, no respect, I was willing to spend over £50 on one order then another, they said they would deliver, I went to the entire effort of doing the order then the guy on the phone whose English was so poor, said he could not be bothered to look up the price of wine. No wonder businesses are losing money. Disgusting and I would rather make my own!

We went here on a Saturday night and it wasn’t that busy so getting seated wasn’t a problem and our order came quite quick There was plenty of good choices on the menu We ordered the fat cow mixed grill between four of us blokes along with a couple of currys and that was plenty The food was lush, mixed grill cooked to perfection, lamb saag was tasty and the meat so juicy, chicken jalfrazi was nice but the chilli chips were out of this world Will definitely be back

The delivery was supposed to be at half-past. I phoned when it had not arrived at quarter to. Told out for delivery. Phoned again at around quarter past. Told out for delivery. Delivery arrives over an hour late. Driver told us the delivery had been "lost" so they had to do it again. So on top of the late delivery, we had been lied to twice. Mistakes I can take, but lies? No compensation offered.

Myself and my daughter ate here last week and really enjoyed our meals we tried both the chicken and lamb dishes and both were excellent. I would highly recommend trying this place. The premises itself are quite tired. It is a pub. But the food more than compensates for it. My daughter who lives in the area also tried the takeaway service and wasn’t disappointed. I personally can’t wait to travel to the West Midlands again and explore the rest of the menu. Delicious.

We had a work function here, which was catered (lunch) I wasn’t expecting much to be honest, but was very pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent & there was plenty of it, it was buffet style but they catered for all dietary requirements with what was offered & everyone was very happy with it. I’d definitely consider going back with family for a meal.

We held our Football Teams Presentation Night here on 17th May 2019. It was a lovely room - laid out banqueting style with its own bar, plenty of staff, stage, speakers. The staff were so helpful and friendly. They even loaned us a microphone, set up an entrance table, set up a raffle table for us. We had chicken curry rice and salad and it was excellent quality. Our function room held 80 but there is a much larger room upstairs, We had our own entrance to the function suite and security was provided on the door. We had a great night at an amazing venue. We did not apply for a late licence so bar closed at 11pm. A good night was had by all.

Really enjoyed our meal the other night. Well cooked and plenty of it. Will definitely be back. Friendly staff too. Highly recommended.

Descent pint poor quality curry but ok grill .Its the sort of place my son liked as a student not mine.

Hemos tenido comida para llevar de Red Cow un par de veces y la última visita fue un poco decepcionante, ya que la comida no era demasiado buena. Debo decir que hoy se han redimido, ya que la comida era absolutamente deliciosa. Pedimos la vaca gorda y el rotis, a las gambas, pollo chillie, alas, pescado e incluso ser chuletas fueron cocinados a la perfección. No estoy seguro de lo que cambió hoy, podría ser un nuevo cocinero o el viejo cocinero simplemente pone un poco de amor extra en toda la cocina. . Lo que sea que sea mantenerlo hasta Red Cow.

Went with my mate Micky, a Scottish born Indian, for one of our regular Indian meals in Birmingham. This was our first meal at the Red Cow and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food for the price. We shared a mixed grill, fish pakora, chicken jalfrezi and a couple of nan breads. Luckily we left plenty of room to eat most of it, but our eyes were bigger than our bellies so we had some left. Luckily our leftovers were packed into a plastic container for lunch tomorrow. The service was fast and friendly. OK, this is a pub which sells Indian food, so the surroundings are fairly basic, but friendly and comfortable. Our meal for two would have cost us the same per person in the city centre, so we were well impressed with the value for money.

Always eat food from here and is always hot and tasty, can’t fault anything. Would definitely recommend!

El primo hermano reserva este lugar. El lugar era bueno PERO el propietario de la vaca roja hizo una doble reserva el sábado, luego canceló mi prima Booka una semana después. Todos reservamos hoteles que cuestan más de 350 más tiempo libre. El servicio muy pobre del propietario de la vaca roja estaba destinado a tener cordero, pero no se le dio a la ráfaga, ¡no se acerque a la vaca roja!

We ordered a Big cow mixed grill for £16 and were very disappointed there was NO LAMB CHOPS and NO TANDOORI PRAWNS! Not worth the money at all very poor. Have been to other Indian grill places and had much beþer food.

Ordered food from Red cow yesterday. Came on time. Food was nice my only problem was paneer curry was bit too sweet. Other things were really nice.

Have been here a few times in the past for food, and has always been good, so was delighted to find that they deliver to me on Just Eat (as I am quite far from them). I ordered as soon as I found out!

Placed an order via just eat. Food was ready within 20 mins of ordering and was as I expected. I've eaten here before a while ago. Food is consistent each time. Happily go here again and would recommend as has a good choice of food.

Visited with some friends to play a bit of pool, ordered one of the mixed grills and it was absolutely delicious. Service was fast and the place felt clean. Great value for money highly recommended 👍🏼

This was one of the few Smethwick pubs serving black/Asian people back in the bad old days of the local MP Peter Griffiths - so respect to them.

The reviews would have us believe that this is one of the best Desi pubs in the Midlands but, in reality, it really isn’t that great.

Comfortable and nice environment. Relaxed and good food. Very reasonably priced and something for everyone.

We have a mixed meal between us that said serves 2-3 with a couple of Nan breads. It was more that enought food for the 3 of us. You really cannot fault the quality or the quantity, especially for the price.

The food has always been great, not the best compared to some other desi pubs. What lets down most desi pubs including the red cow is the attention to detail and customer service.

The 1st time I tried this food in a party and since then I loved it. I normally do take away I just love the way their food taste. It’s soooo good 😋

I've been meaning to eat here for a while. I placed an order by phone and order extra food when I got there. I must say the chef prepared the food quickly. I ordered vegetarian food being a vegetarian and being honest I was very happy with the quality of the food. It tasted good and was not oily. I would certainly go here again.

Fuimos un domingo almuerzo de comida. Ambiente muy cutre. Los jóvenes sentados alrededor de la gente, pero nadie tenía un bar de copas. Camarera demasiado ocupados por teléfono para responder consultas. Coches sentimos inseguros en aparcamiento donde pandillas quedábamos. Ambiente muy incómodo, así que hicimos una salida rápida. Nunca volvería.

Qué lugar, me encantó la comida. No puedo creer la cantidad y calidad de la comida en este lugar. Algunas buenas opciones para elegir. Orientado a la familia, gente, buenas opciones de mezcla de bebidas, cervezas, licores, etc.. El personal era muy servicial. Nos sentimos como en casa. Gustos comida genial. Ubicación ideas. Abierto hasta tarde. Si hecho una bebida y curry que probar este restaurante. Buen entretenimiento.

Mi marido y yo este pub para un curry cada semana. La comida es estupenda, que también es de marmol simple buena relación calidad-precio todo el personal es amable, es un poco deteriorado y es un buen pub donde se puede disfrutar de una partida de billar o dardos. todos los habitantes son también muy agradable y tiene una mezcla de culturas de los clientes. siempre un gran lugar para conocer amigos.

La primera y única, lo que nos hizo los comensales un poco de miedo. Gran espacio, con mucho espacio. Pedimos parrilla y Red Cow mixta de pollo biryani, patatas fritas, etc.; naans La comida es buenísima, la única queja era sin aderezos en los chips aunque destacó cuando ordene. Comida deliciosa en una zona cómoda.

Pasado un par de veces conducido así un salto en la cena. Fuimos para la Gran Vaca parrilla mixta, además de la mantequilla, pollo al curry, naan sencilla y peshwari roti. Mixed Grill, pescados, shish tenía alas de pollo, chuletas de cordero, gambas, pollo Tikka, todo sobre una cama de cebollas fritas. Deliciosamente condimentadas. Incluso mi hijo de 10 años he probado algunos.

Visité el Red Cow para una bebida y comida con amigos en una noche de viernes. La comida era espectacular que pidió la nueva parrilla punjabi mezcla especial por 15 libras. Es el mejor grill mezcla que he tenido en años. No puedo esperar a volver.

Este pub, en el corazón de Midlands es sin duda uno que debería probar. Hay un buen ambiente aquí, como la multitud en el pub es mayormente familias y amigos, lo que le da una sensación como si es un restaurante. La comida es de muy buena calidad con una buena relación calidad-precio. El servicio aquí es mucho mejor que te dan en los restaurantes. Para mí, creo que comida de pub es mucho mejor no sólo por dinero, pero de calidad; ya que muchos restaurantes sirven comida basura estos días. Los precios de las bebidas son bastante baratas en comparación con otros lugares. El personal de este pub es muy amable y acogedor. Cada vez que he estado aquí, siempre he tenido una buena experiencia. Los propietarios de este pub de Bera y Gamy, son muy acogedores, como individuos, la última vez que fui con unos colegas, acabamos teniendo una foto con Bera y Sardara Gill (que es un conocido celebrity) de Apna Sangeet.
