Food was really tasty and friendly service

Our experience at The Real Greek was absolutely fantastic! We were served by Lina, who was not only attentive but truly lovely throughout our meal. Her warmth and genuine care made us feel welcomed and taken care of from start to finish. The food was incredible—we tried the lamb meatball, pork wrap, and Greek salad, and each dish was bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. For dessert, we indulged in the dark chocolate mousse cake and orange cake, both of which were the perfect sweet endings to a flawless meal. Lina's excellent service and the delicious food made for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended!

Had a brilliant experience at The Real Greek in Edinburgh. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday evening, but they were able to arrange us a table for 2. The food arrived quickly and was delicious! Extra special marks to the friendly waiter who, after learning it was my birthday, gave us a slice of cheesecake to takeaway. And he thought I was 7 years younger than I am haha.

Me and my friends had a wonderful dinner here, quick to sit down, our server Ben was lovely as well! Would totally recommend eating here. Really did remind us of our holiday earlier in the year :)

Food was incredibly well made, quite tasty- if you're going to have the hot mezze plates, 2 are more than enough plus some bread / side. We also had the greek orange cake, a favourite of mine and it was brill.

Staff are amazing but food isn't good for the prices they charge. Found a long black hair in my olives and was quite put off. My wrap had very little in it which was disappointing.

Lovley food, Service was a bit poor . Glasses were dirty. I asked for a clean one she took the glass and never brought a new one. Also seemed pissed off that I asked for a new glass. I then asked for another water glass to which she picked up several different ones to find a clean one. Also no water was brought to the table. Food was Lovley but somthing was missing off the order as they memorized it in there head instead of writing down the order. which never fills me with much confidance.

So so disappointed. Had been recommended but I would NOT recommend this Resturant !!! After been seated waited 10 mins before we had to ask to order drinks a food. When the food came it was on Luke warm plates and the plates we had to eat if were stone cold . When I had to ask for our plates to be heated it seems like a real inconvenience . The food was very average for the price. Not once during the meal did we get asked how things were. When the waitress came to take the plates away she asked then, my reply was the food could have been hotter , no response from her ???? We asked for extra hot coffee ….. again came Luke warm , another inconvenience for the staff to give us hot coffee. There was an optional service charge on the bill , did not pay due to the average food and extremely poor service . I myself am in the customer service industry as a Manager I would be appalled if my staff gave service like that .

Food was good but the service provided by Vanessa was exceptional! She was superb and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. We chose nearly 1 of each vegetarian option on the menu, the food was tasty - the plates provided to eat on were quite small, a medium sized would have been better in hindsight. All food items were explained helpfully by Vanessa, and was glad to see at least a vegan ice-cream (not just a sorbet!) available for vegans on the dessert menu. The atmosphere was nice with Greek music playing, spacious seating. Overall, very fun and enjoyable visit thanks to good food and Vanessa!

I came here right after my holidays in Greece and this place was above my expectations! I enjoyed it so much. Me and my partner had cold meze (tzatziki and pita bread) and mussaka and octopuss with fava. We finished with the portokallopita to share cause we were very full. We will definitely be back!

I would give 0 stars. We were seated and given menus. No-one came near our table for 25 minutes, not even to give us water. Many new diners were seated despite the restaurant's inability to serve anyone. We left. No-one even noticed us leave! Definitely won't return.

Pathetic. 2 waitresses, empty restaurant, only 2 tables. It took them 5 minutes to bring soft drinks. Food is terrible. “Grilled king prawns” from starter menu is just microwave defrosted prawn. Chicken wrap is tasteless. Service is slow and inattentive. After asking to take off the service charge, waitress rolled her eyes and ignore. Absolute miserable place.

The taste is very good and the service attitude is very good. The grilled naan and cod were delicious. Dana is such a nice person 🥳

A really well presented restaurant with genuine Greek food. The staff is friendly, polite and prompt. There is a huge selection of either regular and vegetarian options to satisfy everyone (haven't checked for vegan specifically) I definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area

This is a nice place to stop for lunch after shopping with a friend. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Nice vegan options as well, I took a felafel wrap, and hummus with flat bread. A shout out to our waitress Vanessa, very friendly and nice to talk to. Thanks again for your great service!

We wanted to try Greek cousin during our shopping at St. James Quarter today. Vanessa welcomed us in a great way making fellow us like at home. Nice atmosphere and tasty food, we will back soon!!

Arrived here a bit late as had just got the train from airport. Looked worth a try but wasn’t the busiest. Staff got us a table no problem. Staff were great. Ordered our food and had a few different dishes they were all really great. Didn’t think we had ordered enough but was very filling. The flatbread was especially good. You won’t be disappointed.

Came for dinner with my mum last night, although the restaurant was quiet there was a lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing. One of the nicest greek meals we've had in Edinburgh. We will definitely be back!

First time was excellent, couldn’t fault the food or staff. The waitress had excellent customer service & care. The restaurant was relaxed & welcoming. Unfortunately the second time we visited the same food was awful. It was Reheated but not fully heated properly so there was cold sections of the dish. Really off putting & worrying. The Chicken Greek wrap tasted terrible. It was old dry chicken & we couldn’t eat it. The octopus was also awful which is a shame as the first time we had it it was amazing and that’s why we went back. Both visits staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. It’s such a shame and disappointing that the food was terrible. I really liked the staff & would've visited often, however I won’t be back as every single dish on the second visit was of poor quality.

Well a couple of months ago it was a 5 star review - how things change. We dropped in for Lunch on a Tuesday afternoon - the place was nearly empty. We were informed they no longer do lunch deals - we ordered flat breads and dip - the breads arrived nearly cold, the two wraps were fine - the so called greek salad was pretty much a bowl of tomato - a couple of olives, hardly any onion or cucumber and a tiny bit of cheese - i gave feedback to the waitress ( who herself came from Athens) - she apologised - but worse said other customers had complained - so why nothing done? We got our coffees for free as an apology. So not great, clearly starting to apply strick portion control and it shows - and they can't stretch to some additional red onion or a few more olives. A rather 'mean' offering. Would think twice before returning or recommending. We did not pay the service charge. ---+------------------------------------------ We visited for lunch - our first experience of the restaurant which is located in the St James Quarter. We had not booked - we got table straight away. Large airy restaurant with floor to ceiling windows. Reasonable prices from comprehensive menu - fast friendly service - excellent quality food. Even better if - the serving staff had more confidence to challenge parents and carers of unruly children - pulling on the hanging lights on the floor to ceiling windows and being allowed ti run around the restaurant floor - sooner or later that 'restrained politeness' will be the cause of an accident. That aside an excellent experience we will be back.

Visit the place yesterday, the light was very low barely able to see around, stuff was quite friendly, I am Greek, I have been in a few Real greek, this one in Edinburgh shopping centre was by far ones of the most mediocre to boring dull and un-flawored food related places,I don't have high expectations as I am not in Greece, but paying those prices for that portion and quality of food is at least mockery.The place does not have a rotary for the fresh meat so it's been prepared pre baked and they reheat it, my gyros chicken was dry and looked like left overs from the previous day, all and all feel sad when I see mediocre to low quality food advertised as Greek Food, call it Greek style food like Lidl names it's products.Again nothing personal was just disappointed from quality portion and prices.

Excellent food, average service, casual atmosphere, clean restaurant, reasonably priced. The food was served hot and with good presentation. The taste and quality were excellent. The portion sizes were intentionality small to encourage sharing. Every dish was tasty and authentic. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. The octopus dish was one of the best I've ever had! The restaurant is located on the top floor of a shopping Mall. The tables were properly spaced, and they played soft jazz music in the background. Overall, a delightful meal. My wife and I agree that it was as good or even better than any restaurant weve been to in Greece. -- Tourist from the U.S.A.

A very nice restaurant to get lunch after walking around Edinburgh. They offer a broad variety of different greek dishes which are delicious.

The staff were amazing! everyone was very friendly and chatty and the service was great. Dana served us and she was absolutely wonderful. She even brought us a surprise cake as we were celebrating a birthday. Food was lovely and tasted just like we had in Greece. Cannot praise the place enough and cant wait to go back

Fantastic meal, very refreshing and absolutely delicious! My phone died so was unable to take photos, but no photos could do the food justice. We got seated right away without reservation and the food was served very quickly, staff were very amazing too.
