Staff had difficulties communicating the menu, the overall service was absent, as far as I perceived it. The food had probably been sitting there for a few hours, resulting in it being overcooked, dry and bland. Many of the items on the menu were also unavailable. Pretty bad experience, to be honest.

I would say, on balance, this place isn't too bad. There's lots of things they could improve on but you've got to bear in mind it's incredibly cheap. They can't be offering you the cream of the crop in terms of food for under £6 when what you can eat is unlimited. The lemon chicken is reasonably nice, as is the Chinese chicken curry. Some of the meat can look a bit dry and if it has been out for hours. You can also have all you can drink soft drinks for under £3 so that is good value too. If you're looking for a lunchtime belly filler or probably dinner too this isn't a bad option. If you're looking for fine dining - go somewhere else ;-) My only gripe is that there is no prawn option (in the lunch menu anyway) and I love prawns but prawns are expensive so this is probably why they are excluded!

This is what you would call cheap and cheeful suitable for a quick lunch. Its proper cheap and not suitable for a anything but a quick fix. It is a buffet with limited choices, sometimes hot, sometimes cold, it really depends on what time you get there and how long the dishes have been sitting there. You get what you pay for and at less then £10 per person you can't really expect quality dishes. You do get unlimited soft drinks though for about £2 which I thought was good value for money. Included in the buffet is a small selection of desert items. For the price, I was well happy to fill my belly at lunch time. They are located in Whiteleys, so for the location I would say excellent value for money. In the West End where are you going to get a fulfiling plate of food for less than a tenner. The waitress service is pretty limited but the venue itself is actually quite nice with a seated area outside. If you require a budget meal whilst out shopping, go for it.

Food is not great. The meat is of very poor quality and most dishes do not even look appetising. It is safer to go for vegetables if you must eat here. Desserts are bought in and somewhat better. Service is also poor. Tables are left uncleared, which means you have to eat in someone else's mess. I called the service to the table but they didn't turn up. Came here last night, before going to watch the excellent 'Gone Girl', at the cinema next door. The place looked authentic from the outisde - as authentic as you can be stuck in a shopping centre that is!However, all notions of getting a taste of 'The Real China', were dashed once we started the buffet. The food was entirely bland, so tasteless they may aswell have not had the descriptions above each plate. Never have I been so consistently disappointed with each and every dish. Not only were most just about tasteless, but some were cold and some of the dishes were undercooked. Wide ranging Buffets have always been a slight concern for me, as the more dishes that are prepared, the higher likelihood that the chef will lose control of the overall quality. There was also a laughable attempt at Sushi there aswell, which was an insult to a wonderful cuisine. For drinks there was a paltry selection of beers and wine, served by a waitress singularly devoid of personality. The decor inside was also poor, with tables too close together and amateurish lighting. All in all, I would advise you to definately avoid this place. There are plenty of Chinese options outside of the shopping centre and the Chinese Embassy really should get onto these people for misrepresenting 'The Real China'!!!

We were looking for somewhere prior to a concert at the Hammersmith Apollo. Just by the exit opposite are a collection of pubs and cafes. This was a Chinese buffet and cheaply priced - £4.95 a head to eat in. That said there was a large selection of reasonably fresh dishes, as a result of the sheer volume of customers. Spring rolls, squid, two soups plus the usual staples for main courses. Its not fine dining but it did the job and at this price what do you expect?

I use Groupon to try new restaurants and so made the trip into Bayswater (with sister and son in tow) but it really wasn't worth the effort. There is zero atmosphere, indifferent service and while there is plenty of food, it is pretty bland (I resorted to adding the dried chillis in oil to everything. The strangest things were the 'dim sum' which looked like smooth semi spheres made of polystyrene - apparently they tasted as such. Deserts of ice cream, tinned fruit, haribos, crunchy melon or little cakes - no toffee apples! Drinks were reasonably priced at about £3.50 for a beer or glass of wine. Such a shame as they have everything in place so just need to make it somewhere that people enjoy visiting. Wow. Am stunned at how poor this place was. I went in with the expectations of a cheap all-you-can-eat buffet experience for lunch, and walked away regretting it. The location and atmosphere is fine; it's in the mall (Whiteleys), they've a decent set-up and should be convenient for visiting the movies, or if you're there shopping. The service is fine. Nothing spectacular. Staff basically ask if you want a drink, and then take your used plates away. Not much else. The challenge is the quality of the food. It's really bad. Even for the price (£6 lunch, £12 dinner). "RohanandSureet" have a pretty accurate description... it's not worth it for the money, unless you only want pure volume of food (e.g., need to put on 5lbs in 24hrs). One thing that is also not mentioned is that there is a limited buffet served for lunch (e.g., 50% smaller) - I literally almost had my hand slapped away when I reached for one of the desserts that was apparently "dinner only"Having lived in China for several months, I can safely say that this is the worst Chinese food I've had in living memory... and should be avoided.....There are much better Chinese options all the way along Queensway for a similar price, where the quality of the food is much higher. Go somewhere else.

With food, you generally get what you pay for. At £5.95 for eat-as-much-as-you-like lunch, it sounds too good to be true and it is. This is your typical bottom-end chinese where the food is either heavily coated in MSG or deep fried in thick batter. Think pile it up high, sell it cheap. The best dish here was the fresh melon, which I could not fault - it was ripe and tasty and not particularly chinese. The rest was not fit to feed to a dog.The food, however bad it was, was not the worst of our experience. On ending our meal, our 3 year old son had left half of his food, even at his tender age, he is able to discern between poor food and downright awful. We were told (quite rudely) by the waitress that we shouldn't pick up food if weren't going to eat it. It didn't stop there, she then said she would charge us next time if we left food on the plate. We told her there was no chance of us returning. Maybe its me, but the concept of eat-as-much-as-you like means you do do exactly that or not, as you choose. Whitely's needs to dump this restaurant double-fast !
