we didn't get to Waga's until about 22:00 as thought we wouldn't get a table but we where welcomed in and sat straight down, we ordered before the waitress left (we eat at waga's a lot so always know what we want) drinks came very fast and the bear was ice cold. Food came about ten mins later all in one go which we love so you get the best of your starter and main at the same time.

I really like the quality of food and ingredients at Wagama and love that its all over the city. Im vegetarian and they do have many options - I really like the warm chill yeas salad and the standard Miso soup. Iv always found the staff to be friendly. Though I wonder why most of the Wagamama's are underground/in the basement, would have been nice to have some openness.

I've always liked Wagamama and am old enough to remember when the queues were gargantuan and the restaurants packed solid. Thankfully it's easy to get in without any kind of wait these days. The menu is great with lots of choice. The staff are attentive and the food arrived quickly. The entrance to what is a basement restaurant is a little tight and in need of smartening up but the dining area itself is clean and tidy and is the usual refectory style.Would definitely recommend, particlarly the yasai ramen and the banana dessert.

We make a point of eating at Wagamama each time we go to London and in the past, have mostly eaten at the now closed branch at the Royal Festival Hall. This branch happened to be near our hotel so we decided to stop in for a quick bite. The restaurant is in a basement which contains the noise and makes the place exceptionally noisy. Service is slick and accomodating - one sits at long communal tables and because the turnover is high, one generally doesn't have to wait for a place. They are very accommodating of food allergies and intolerances, so do ask if you need help in that regard. What I did find this time, that while it remains a reliable chain, the food just lacked the edge and flavour I'm used to from Wagamama.

We visited the place with our baby and I must say we've never felt this unwelcome ever. On arrival there was noone around to offer us a table. We randomly chose one but when a waiter finally appeared he welcomed us with words "let me move you away from here" because "it gets busy here at lunchtime". He took us to the far end of the restaurant, near the kitchen - a place so dark, steamy and noisy that I refused to sit there (mind you we had a 4 month old with us!). Eventually they tucked us in behind one of the pillars. Hurray! We even got a menu to read! But when a waitress came to ask us to hide the pram deeper behind the table (even though there was noone else around) my patience ran out. We left the place without trying any food. Absolutely appalling service. They must hate families.

Just recently went back to this Wagamama that was my first many years ago. Went with my family for a simple dinner just after arrival and first couple of hours of shopping. I liked the fact that they have re-shuffled their menu a bit (okay, maybe I wasn't there for a while), and that they have a separate kids menu.My wife and I went for one of our old-time favourites, the Pad Thai. However, its taste was rather uninspiring, so we both had to add some soy sauce. That was not quite what we expected, so we reckoned that either we have further developed our tastes, or Wagamama has somehow changed the recipe, or the cook just had a bad day. Two days later, we couldn't resist and went to the Wagamama at Spitalfields Market over lunch, and our daughter's Pad Thai was just brilliant (while we went for a Ramen and a Curry). So we're happy that the chain didn't change the recipe. However, the overall experience was very good thanks to excellent service that evening. The atmosphere is quite all right for a downstairs place, and the long tables with benches make you feel at home after a couple of visits (which we had over the last 13 years). Continue the good work and don't take away the spices from your classics!

While visiting the UK, our London colleagues invited me to dine at this chain which is popular through Europe and Australia. I had never tried Wagamama, and I was surprised at how good the food was. We were seated at the long picnic/bench style tables for common seating. It is very crowded during the lunch hour, and you sit sometimes shoulder to shoulder with strangers. We had quick drink service, and we selected the pork gyoza starters. For entrees we enjoyed the chicken and duck ramen, along with cha han, which is a stir fried brown rice with chicken and prawns. Overall, very good service and food for the lunch hour.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The restaurant is stuck in the basement a of building on Fleet Street. The atmosphere is, well, there is no atmosphere. It was actually a depressing little place with no windows. I would have walked out but it was late, I had just gotten off a flight, this place was near my hotel and I was hungry! The service was very slow despite the fact the restaurant was at best 1/3 full. The food was a poor take on "asian style" food. The worst part was they must have used some type of food enhancer or additive as not long after I had eaten my dinner my heart was beating faster and I could not sleep as I was really restless (this is what happens to me when I eat MSG). I will not be going back.

We wanted to try one of the Wagamamas ever since we were told about it in Dublin. We chanced upon this one and went in for dinner. It has a cool Asian vibe--almost like a cafeteria: very clean, sharp lines; long tables and benches. The food was delicious. We had Pad Thai and a curry. We'd definitely go again. Total price with tea and service: about £20. A bargain in this part of town.

Just such a strange experience. Went on Saturday evening and was completely dead with only one lonely couple in the entire basement of a restaurant. Though the waiter was very attentive (due to boredom, I expect) the choice in food was lacking. Options on the menu appeared to have run out? & when questioned I was confused by the response of ‘low on stock/they ordered the last one’ Ended up paying for paying for the drinks and leaving to go somewhere else.

This chain can always be relied upon. This particular restaurant can be found below street level directly off Fleet Street, so only a door frontage to let you know it's there. Three of us called in for lunch (mind you, it's the same menu throughout the day) and with drinks our whole bill came to less that £30. The other strong recommendation for this restaurant is that it is well-appointed and clean.

Disappointingly recently the service has been quite slow and today we were about the third people in at lunchtime, ordered immediately, had our starters and 35 minutes later as people who had arrived significantly after us were happily munching noodles - and having asked where our food was - we were still waiting. Eventually we just asked for the bill (and waited another 5 mins for that) - still without our noodles. They offered us our juices free. Pretty disappointed.
