I'd passed this place many times, but this was my first visit. I'd dropped my car off at a local garage, and thought i'd try the brekkie here. It was around 8.30am. It's a typical Wethies, nicely laid out, and it was scrupulously clean. Seated I perused the menu, and ordered the large English breakfast at the bar. Service was good, and the staff friendly. Brekkie consisted of: 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, 3 hash brown's, beans, and a mushroom. First impression, I didn't think it looked that large, on arrival, maybe a large plate :) But it was more than enough, nicely cooked and decent ingredients. To drink, the tea and coffee is bottomless, and so I helped myself to a number of cups. All in all, a pleasant first visit. I'd have no qualms going again if I had business up that way in the future.

Toilets are full of coke heads. Bar tenders are always looking for bother, but actually full on weasels, rude and ignorant to customers, whilst handing out free drinks to their mates! Daytime isn’t too bad, breakfast and lunch is nice and not full of riff raff but avoid at all costs in the evening especially when the Paul weller looking barman is working or the short dumpy one

A big group of work mates met up in this pub to celebrate a friends birthday and what a great time we had. I like the look of this Wetherspoon pub ,a great looking serving bar ,typical Wetherspon decor and furnishings ,paintings and prints of Edger Allen Poe adorn the walls ,it's just a great pub to chill out in . Our group enjoyed a wide range of drinks in here ,I stayed on bottles of Birra Moretti which were served freezing cold ,this pub was packed ,staff were on the ball ,kept the drinks flowing ,couldn't fault anything about our visit here ,stayed here till chucking out time. The Raven Pub is easy to locate along Walton Vale. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday ,open from 8am. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

As one of my regular haunts, I've had a few drinks here. On the whole the staff and service is very good. But if you annoy one of them, you annoy them all, so beware. Call it a community pub, try to notice the locals queueing down the bar and don't push in. Special mention for Gina, as she always works hard for the customers and always has a smiling face. Rhian is ok, when she actually does a full shift.

On a bitterly cold January night my twin brother Stephen and I dropped into The Raven Pub ,a fantastic Wetherspoon pub I always look forward to visiting whenever I'm in this area of Liverpool. I love the look of this Wetherspoon pub ,it's not massive ,main room dominated by an eye catching serving bar ,big screens showing the news ,lovely decor and furnishings including painting and items relating to the American Poet and writer Edger Allen Poe ,the pub is actually named after his most famous poem namely The a Raven,it's just a great Wetherspoon pub to chill out in. We walked in and the pub was packed but we very luckily managed to grab an alcove ,I went up the serving bar and ordered a large mixed grill each served with a guinness each ,guinness was superb ,poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle ,our meals arrived shortly after and what a treat ,a mix of eggs, gammon ,steak ,sausage ,bacon ,onion rings ,a meal that's just so tasty and filling ,it was just what we needed to set us up for the night ahead as we planned to have a bit of a session here enjoying the great choice of real ale's and continental beers on offer . After our meal we tried some real ale's ,these were served in pristine condition ,we sampled some great pale ale's and as members of C.A.M.R.A we had beer tokens that gave us 50p off the price of a pint making an already great value for money pint even better value for money . The Raven on Walton Vale is without doubt my favourite Wetherspoon pub and is in an area were there are many interesting pub's and bars and restaurants. This brilliant Wetherspoon pub is housed in a building once occupied by a cinema and takes it's name from a poem by the famous American author Edgar Allen Poe.This pub has a fantastic open-plan interior with lot's of interesting fixtures relating to it's former use as a cinema and excellent fixtures and features relating to Edgar Allen Poe's short poem The Raven. We have been visiting the Raven pub since this fantastic pub first opened many years ago and it's as good now as it was all them years ago.We went to here on a really cold Wednesday night and it was very busy and it took us a while to get one of the fantastic booth seating.tanles. I came to this place and ordered food for table number 37 on 8th November 2022 at 11.45 I ordered a boneless combination meal ( main ) along with 3 ounce American burger. I was served by an extremely rude obnoxious female member of staff. Before ordering my food I observed and heard her having a conversation with someone who she knew across the other side of bar standing next to me, foul verbal language was exchanged between both people and I found this totally unacceptable. Not only was I shocked to hear here her use this language, I wouldn't of thought that Wetherspoons would employ somebody that uses foul language while on duty the lady in question also confronted me and asked me what meal I wanted, I pointed to the poster that is advertised that stated ( NEW ) 3oz American burger £4.69 or £599 with a drink she shook her head and had some issues with a dreadful attitude as if I should know what food this is. Her mannerism was completely not acceptable. I also asked who was the manager and this lady manager looked very young comparable to the rude behaviour and staff member. Please understand that it is of paramount importance to have a good attitude and a nice approach when dealing with paying customers. I can honestly say the food was very good value for money at the service is won't let this place down.

After visiting most of the pubs and bars on Walton Vale on a day out in this area of Liverpool my twin brother Stephen and I arrived in this pub on a rainy Thursday late evening ,we got here about 6 pm and as full as this pub was we luckily managed to get an alcove area at the back of the pub so we made the decision to stay here till closing time as it's such a cosy and welcoming Wetherspoon pub. It's not the biggest Wetherspoon pub but it's cool ,a single roomed pub ,nice wall art mostly pertaining to writer Edgar Allan Poe and his famous ode to The Raven which gives this pub it's name, there's lots of seating options ,it's a great pub to chill out in. Our six to seven hours here were superb ,we had a really hot curry meal and sampled some great drinks from real ale's ,had four different real ale's each here to guinness ,bottles of Birra Moretti ,the fine Italian beer and some great gin & Tonics ,had a wonderful time in here till kicking out time well after midnight ,all in all couldn't fault anything about our visit here. The pub itself is superb, a long serving bar dominates the main room, typical Wetherspoon decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside, outback in their courtyard. We were here on a Thursday afternoon, a hot afternoon, we track and traced and sanitised our hands and we were allocated a table outback in the courtyard, a very pleasant member of the bar team took our order of a chicken curry meal each and for drinks we opted to have a guinness, guinness was poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great pub we were in while sipping our guinness. My guinness was absolutely superb, a thick, creamy and most importantly iced cold guinness bursting with taste and very easy to drink, while sipping our guinness our meals arrived and what a treat, lean chicken, light rice ,crispy poppadoms and tasty naam bread 🍞 just a really tasty meal which we enjoyed sitting in the sun . I have to mention the manager (think his name was paul) was amazing given the rules coming into place. He could not do enough for everyone, unfortunately this was not matched with his co workers who took over that afternoon. 2 ladys working on the front where very aggressive with there approach to the new rules. I understand masks need to be worn but as a sufferer of asthma I am exempt. One lady got right in my face telling me if I didnt wear my mask going the toilet she would not serve me and we would have to leave. Her attitude was absolutely disgusting and very aggressive. I will not be returning and am considering speaking to the local press about this. Vile attitude from the staff

Anyway, quite a few different dishes were ordered including lamb shank/salmon baguel/2 different curries/hotdog/burger and chicken burger and all meaks included a free drink which is great! No one complained about their food and plates left empty. I do find Wethies is good value..its just a shame the regulars think they have priority over food orders.

People should remember the old axiom that you get what you pay for - I have seen some reviews of Wetherspoons pubs that criticise the food but to be fair I have never had a complaint that wasn't quickly rectified at The Raven - the staff are without exception courteous and efficient and the food is good at the price point it is set at - I have had far worst and paid a lot more - I think this establishment and the staff deserve a full 5 stars - I have been to other Wetherspoons pubs and this is by far my favourite.

Have been here many many times. Have very happy memories of going with my dad. We always used to stop on our way home from town and have a few drinks and something to eat. The food is typical Wetherspoons fare, just good homecooked food, very good variety and a good range of beers and ales. It's always busy so it can sometimes be a little difficult to find a table, but it is worth the wait. It is nearly always bustling with local people and there is a good atmosphere. It's clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Just visited the Raven with my wife for a meal and a few drinks. What can I say the service from all the staff was exceptional nothing was to much trouble. The meal arrived well presented and cooked to perfection. The array of different alcohol was amazing (for a smaller Wetherspoons) and all at moderate prices. The menus tell you everything about cost.Overall it is a nice cosy pub and I hope to be visiting again with my family.

Having read mostly good reviews for The Raven, we attempted to go there for a meal while visiting family in nearby Aintree. However, our hotel was not within walking distance and so we had to drive down, only to find that nowhere in the vicinity is there any parking available. So, after driving around the local streets trying, unsuccessfully, to find somewhere to park, we gave up and went to a local tandoori restaurant that had it's own car park. We like Wetherspoons pubs and when travelling usually stop off in the nearest one to wherever we happen to be. Very disappointed that we were prevented from visiting The Raven due to lack of parking.

My personal thanks to Adele, Simon, Eddie and all concerned behind the bar and behind the scenes regarding my visit on Thursday night, 6th October.I worked out that it is 15 years since I first started arranging get togethers in the Raven. The location is handy for commuters. Bus route literally outside and over the road plus Orrell Park Station within easy walking distance for most.Thursday's visit was planned and nine of us (though on this occasion eight plus one!!) enjoyed the various meals including the curry (being Curry Night).Drinks were plentiful and on this occasion, we were literally last out!In short, all was well and once more, much appreciation to all concerned (past and present managers, shift leaders, staff, etc.) for looking after my friends and I.Catch up soon.

Food was good-cant fault that, and when one family member asked if she could have chips instead of hash browns the barmaid (brown hair) explained they were short staffed and couldnt do it. Ok no problem. We paid for refillable coffees and we were told at 11.40 that the coffee had ran out?? Me, my partner and his mother went here for lunch today. My partners mother is new to being coeliac so i asked the gentlemen behind the bar for a gluten free menu but because they had ran out of guides he then showed me how you recognise what is gluten free on the main menu which was very helpful. The dish she had chosen (gammon, salad and peas) was brought to the table. We double checked with the sever that it was gluten free the lady had gone away and then the man who helped me in the first place came over to the table with a gluten free folder and let us know that it wasn't gluten free so the kind gentlemen offered to swop her dish to something she can eat. It was thoughtful the fact the original server had gone to the manager with concern to check that the gammon was ok to eat and then for the guy to offer her a new dish to eat with no extra charges!. Just before we left the guy had even come over with a piece of paper with gluten free dishes which he had wrote down for her. Being a server myself i know that the man and lady had gone out their way to do this for us! Unfortunately i didn't catch their names, it was a lady with blonde hair and i presume a man who was manager with brown hair very tall. They really do deserve some credit.

Named after a poem by the American writer and poet Edgar Allen Poe The Raven is a great place that serves cheap, yet great quality, food, and a massive selection of ales. Each day, starting at noon they serve a particular range such as Curry Range on Tuesdays or the Fish dishes on Fridays as well as the set menus each day, with last orders taken at 11.00pm. There's a snooty view of Wetherspoon in general, particularly further south, which I think is more about the clientèle than the chain itself.I see the chain as being an excellent improvement on the 'local' of old. It showed up that the ordinary working man wanted variety. The Raven is my local and I just love being in there. I see myself as somewhat of a snob when it comes to quality of food and drink, but I can confidently recommend a visit to The Raven. The staff are excellent in the fact that they stop to chat to the customers whilst getting the job done. It's a great environment.

My girlfriend asked for a medium strawberry acai with lemonade but no ice and the drink cost £5.60 already for this price you could expect them to fill the cup, instead served a small cup half full, i asked if they could fill it up with lemonade as every other starbucks has done. I had to ask for a refund as i wasnt paying £5.60 for a half drink, we sat down to enjoy some time together and we overheard us them attempt to whisper about me asking for a refund by one staff member to the other and i found this to rude, when all i asked was a simple request. Any other starbucks or even staff have been much more accommodating. Wont be returning and ask people to go to the other starbucks in town centre.

We ordered a giant cookie on the second of feb to be collected on the 17th feb giving plenty time for it to be made. The day before pick up I ran the branch and asked about the cookie to which the lady rudely replied she hadn’t got an order and that there was lots of staff so it had gone missing, she didn’t even think to ask what was my order and instead told me to ring back at 4:30pm as she was extremely busy. As this cookie was for an event I didn’t want to risk not getting it and with the employee not really listening and being rude on the phone I went down to speak to her to my Surprise (not) she was not busy instead on her phone with her headphones in I spoke about the issue with the missing order and showed her my receipt to which she replied (I believe you) well I’m glad she did as she took my order on the 2nd. She never apologised or even acknowledges her mistake instead was extremely rude. I’m sure this isn’t the time of person Millie’s wants as the front for there business because I will not be going back and I’m sure others will feel the same if they have to deal with the same rudeness and inconvenience.
