We went for lunch. Food and drinks are OK, nothing exciting and not actually bistro food. Service was very friendly. However, the place wasn't clean. Tables unclean, old chips and other food on the floor. Dog-friendly is fine, but allowing dogs on the seats licking the benches etc is disgusting.

The whole vibe of the restaurant is amazing!! The food was great, service was great, staff were unreal! Absolutely no complaints. Went here for a coffee with friends and asked the lady for a cortado and she knew exactly what I meant (and it was delicious!!!) Very nice place and friendly staff. 🤩

Lovely meal service was fantastic and the girl who served us was so friendly think her name was Amelia chef out done himself and James was very friendly they both worked well together and made our little trip out memorable x

My mum and I travelled to UK from New Zealand to visit family in Liverpool and a highlight of our stay was the wonderful James who served us at 52 Lane!. (in fact I've jumped on Tripadvisor after nearly a decade just to write this review!)...After a bumpy start to our trip we stumbled across this cafe and were immediately greeted by James with his warm, vivacious personality. He promptly took our order and made a great coffee for us both (extra hot and not burned). My mum is blind and often staff in hospitality do not know how to assist someone who is not able bodied - he was attentive and understood how to make mum comfortable. The chef (I've forgotten his name) made us a wonderful cooked breakfast. If we're ever back we'll be sure to pop in again. It seemed that there were also regulars to the cafe who James was just as lovely with. If Jame's boss reads this - please give that man a raise :) xx

I absolutely love this place. The food is just gorgeous, can’t fault any of it and the atmosphere is so chilled out. The staff there are possibly the loveliest and most helpful staff I’ve ever met in a restaurant especially James. Nothing is a problem and he truly makes you feel special. He really looked after us. I would totally recommend a visit to anyone. We took our dogs there and they also got the VIP treatment. Both got a little sausage which they loved. 😍

We went to 52 Rose Lane the morning after our son's graduation the food was excellent, but the service really set it apart, James could not have been nicer and is a credit to the place. Would highly recommend.

We went here the morning after our son’s graduation in Liverpool. The food was excellent and I thought really good value for a city, we both had breakfast/brunch. Customer Service was second to none with James, he was just so lovely. If he is not the owner, I hope he is being paid well! Ambience was also lovely and Rose Lane has lots of independent shops to check out if you fancy a stroll afterwards.

I have been here a few times now and had a great experience every time. James especially is so lovely when looking after our table. He is so friendly, bubbly and helpful! Thank you

Came in for brunch on Tuesday and had to return again today because it was so good! Very welcoming and friendly, the food was absolutely incredible and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Cannot beat this place! Been a few times i would say its the best little bistro in liverpool Food is beautiful, top quality product but James our waiter was outstanding, so lovely, made us feel more than welcome, went above an beyond for us. We will be making sure we return especially when James is working 🥰 we just love him he's fab! Need more people like him in the world 100percent. 💋💕☕️

We are regulars to 52 and the staff are always nice, but this morn we were served by James , wow above and beyond what a total gem... had us in hysterics , service was impeccable would 100% recommend to all when James is front of house ... Very poor service,un attentive staff that looked as if they didn’t want to be there waited ages for food it was average and they add a service charge on every bill!

Hadn’t been here for quite a while and was very impressed with everything ! Had the Keto breakfast , cooked to perfection, and a cappuccino. Lovely ambience and the staff are so friendly and welcoming - this is going to become our “go to place” for brunch/ lunch. Next visit is for afternoon tea - can’t wait 👌

We had a really superb Sunday brunch. Freshly cooked, excellent portions and great staff. Before I write I always read the poor ones, to see what the problem was. Loved the one who gave them a low score as the delivery driver ate their breakfast! And the one who moaned that the delivery driver dropped it! Seriously though, great brunch (and a table, knife and fork etc etc)

Chef needs to have a word with himself serving bacon that’s been cremated! You wouldn’t serve it on the restaurant so why give it to a takeaway order! Unfortunately won’t be going there ever again

Spent a fortune here today on Deliveroo,arrived timely, but without my drinks order,churros were like bricks,bagel tasted stale,toast was rock solid, eggs tasted funny. Totally disgusting

Ordered 2 club sandwiches. One came with chicken on one side of the sandwich and a single lettuce leaf on the other. Requested a refund but was told that restaurants have their on individual style. £9 for £4 worth of satisfaction. Should have just attached a fiver to a pigeon and watched it fly off because both would have satisfied my hunger in the same way.

Very polite professional people give a warm reception. Nice cosy place to enjoy a quiet, enjoyable meal.

Lovely spot for lunch, wish I had taken a picture of my wrap which was presented nicely with a lovely side salad. The staff were friendly and, as it wasn't busy, they seemed happy for us to sit and chat over another cup of tea. Really pleasant, I think if they did the odd evening as a supper club people would go for it!

Beware, they now added a service charge when you get the bill. Without consent. Also the chef was rude when taking the plates away. Made a comment ‘ if you don’t want tomatoes next time just say’

The food here is truly stunning. I ordered breakfast twice for me and my lads on site from here through UberEats but I had to call in, in person to try the same what I had delivered. Safe to say I gave it a 10 when it was delivered but without doubt now this unreal and probably one of the best 3 breakfasts I've ever had. Quality ingredients that are cooked to perfection and presented to the highest standards possible. Thank you. Get here and support a small local business. We need each other!

For £7 for a slice I was expecting a bigger slice of cake. When I open the box I thought I slice might of fell out without me knowing 🫣 nice cake but the 3 bites worth didn’t last very long. I wouldn’t say I would buy it again unless the piece is twice the size.

Everything is good about this place. Service was smoothly friendly, accommodating and thoughtful. Food was really good. I had the Keto breakfast which felt healthy and light. Not sure what they did with the spinach but it was delightful. Perfectly cooked and flavoured. Also dog friendly which made us stop inside instead of getting a takeaway. Great place. Will definitely be back.

This is going to be hard to explain but I'll try. The food was nice. I could tell that if I'd had each of the individual elements of the breakfast, I would've enjoyed it. However, for reasons that escape me, the hollandaise sauce tasted..... soapy, perfumery, a bit like washing up liquid. That's probably the only way I can describe it. Not coming down on the whole meal but I would definitely look for either a replacement sauce or a different way to prepare it. Otherwise, I enjoyed it.

Not impressed this time, sadly. Ordered 4 sausages, received 3. Paid for 2 x sachets of sauce, received none. Including delivery paid over £13 for 2 slices of bread with 3 sausages. It's not rocket science - read the order, get it right. Disappointed, to say the least.

Went for a birthday breakfast here, 1st time and it was absolutely delicious, staff were friendly and welcoming and very attentive. Our order was out quick and everything was was hot and fresh. I has the chocolate waffles and my god they were lovely! My sister and her partner had the full english breakfast each both with different kinds of eggs which they swapped no problem. They really enjoyed it and said everything was of excellent quality especially the sausages. We will definitely be returning!

Breakfast was like something from a 1980s Australian prison. Sorry. Couldn’t even make the bacon fresh. Hate to do it but at that price it’s shocking.

Have always loved it here but unfortunately will never be returning. They didn't have any bottles of red so went next door to tesco for some. Great! Received the bill and was charged £28 for a bottle of barefoot red which is on offer for £6. So dissapointed. Was also charged a service fee. A number of other customers left dissapointed today. Such a shame as this was a lovely little bistro with great food xx

I have eaten here twice with my wife a 2 girls. We all love it. The full breakfast is great, even with a fussy eater (me) who likes scrambled agg and no black pudding. My oldest girl (14) loves the eggs royale and my wife loved the vegie options. We will be back

Got a breakfast, was really salty, so when they asked how it was I said it had been madly over-salted by the chef. All they said was ok. Didn’t offer another one even though I had only ate the tomatoes. Later they took the breakfast away which had been barely touched and they didn’t say anything, which felt a bit awkward. Charged full whack for everything, not that I wanted anything off, I just wanted a normal breakfast 😭. It wasn’t so much the breakfast that was a problem rather than the staff. Really put me on edge and made me feel uncomfortable. Anywhere else would have replaced the breakfast with a far less salty version. Very strange experience.

Always come here for my morning coffee and I have to eat out for dinner at least once a week. can never fault this place, highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken burger 10/10

Ordered on deliveroo. £6 for these fries I can see the bottom of the packaging. Really not worth it. I do order all the time so I'm not sure if it's just who was working in the kitchen this morning and if you're very busy but I wouldn't chance it again

We booked this just before Christmas as a treat and were really happy with the service and delicious food. Afternoon tea was a great selection of sandwiches, pastries, scone etc and at a very reasonable price. Far too much to eat in one go so they provided carry home boxes.

We went to 52 rose lane as there was a number of vegan option available which was stated on the menu online however once we got there the vegan option were not on the menu. When I asked for the chick-un vegan wrap I was told this is not vegan and when I advised that is was in the website as vegan chick-un salt and paper wrap and he said this was the case. We then got a vegan burrito as there was no other option available, it come within 5 min obviously been put in the microwave it was awful dry and very bland it was meant to have beans on which was not the case. The man who was serving us was very rude too we will not be returning and the lack of vegan option available despite stating online they have multi vegan options! Definitely won't be returning

Wow, I am so impressed by the fantastic service from both the lady and gentleman who served myself and my two friends today. One of my friends is vegan and gluten free and they went out if their way at 52 Rose lane to prepare her a specific menu which was absolutely amazing. My choice of food was absolutely spot on, I couldn't fault it and we were all really impressed by all of the employees who attended to our every need. Top place, I'd thoroughly recommend.

Salt and Pepper Breakfast burrito, gorgeous! I was hesitant at first but was reassured by staff that if I liked chorizo and their usual breaky burrito I'd like this. They were wrong, I loved it! Balanced spices, not soggy like some burritos get and of you're getting fries wrong, you need to leave the industry. Deffo reccomend.

Visited today as I believed it was nice sausages where burnt, black pudding was over cooked and greasy along with the mushrooms. Under cooked poached egg Not sure if they was having a bad day but it wasn't great. Beans where cold and bland And the tomoto didn't seem fresh not a nice experience Definitely wont be visiting here again I was reluctant to pay the woman didn't ask how it was I'm kind of glad she didn't !!

After walking out of the restaurant over the road, we tried this lovely little gem. Waitress was lively, couldn't have been more attentive. Menu was big enough for choice but not overwhelming. We has goats cheese and beetroot salad, chicken BLT and halumi ciabatta. All fresh and incredibly tasty. Fantastic coffee to finish. In winter they do an evening small plate pan Asian menu which looks lush... faultless

Visited on a quiet mid week afternoon for lunch. The waitress was really friendly, the food was very nice, the portions were really generous and prices reasonable. It was empty when we were there so no atmosphere but perfect if you want a quiet space...

What a hidden gem of a place. Great food, great service and the bar staff can do some very impressive cocktails. Apparently they do a great breakfast as well. I think I will be going back.

Had mixed experiences here at breakfast time. Friendly staff but they appear overworked, and you can hear random conversations and moans customers shouldn't be hearing really. Food was nice for some dishes (full waffles, burritos) but eggs benedict was a bit cold, bacon and muffin...
