The Rani Indian Takeaway in Northampton

Had a takeaway last night and it was great Food was excellent and service was top notch Will definitely be ordering again 👍🏼

Placed an order for delivery. 30 mins had passed after the latest arrival time. Called them to be told it would be leaving in 10 mins. Another 45 mins later I called again to be told it still hadn't even left yet. No apology, won't be using again. Edit: I rang after the 1hr 15 delay to cancel the order as we sorted something else. 1hr 45mins after the latest time of arrival door goes. Driver with our food, I told him I didn't want it he wouldn't take it away. Called the restaurant again to say I'm not paying for it as we had already been to the shops 8 miles away returned cooked and were about to eat. Man on the phone offered discount, I refused as I won't be eating the food and no longer needed it. He reluctantly said he will refund via the app. We are awaiting the refund.

Great service - ordered via Just-Eat. I had never had the Garlic Chilli Bhuna before - that was spectacular. I will be having that again, and soon. The food arrived hot and tasty. The driver was friendly. This meal was a real treat.

This was my third time ordering from The Rani and probably the best yet. Starters, main courses and sides all cooked perfectly and tested delicious. Full of flavour, as good as I've tasted in the best Indian restaurants. Still nice and hot, considering I live quite a distance away. Give The Rani a try, you won't be disappointed. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Friendly, welcoming business. Decent sized containers, food very tasty. Good for meat eaters and vegetarians. Recommend trying them

Love this place it's my go to take away for curry and I have tried many different Indian take aways around and by far my favourite food always perfect and friendly delivery drivers and food is always fast and hot great food definitely recommend

Nice curry full of flavours and a decent price

I tried this takeaway after hearing they are under new management. I’m very impressed with the food and the service. The food arrived hot and was delivered on time, and it was delicious. I ordered a few dishes and absolutely loved all of them - chicken tikka masala, lamb keema chilli and jalfrezi. I loved the king prawn biryani and imagine their other biryanis taste great too. All of the dishes were worth the price and are definitely worth trying out. I highly recommend this place, they are by far the best Indian takeaway I have tried in Northampton!

Ordered a takeaway from here last week after a long time, and they are now under new management. It's great to see they finally have their own website. Food is still great and their naan breads are the best, they got the perfect cheese naan and their biriyani is top notch as always! Highly recommend

Went in to order my curry . So sat in and waited for it. The staff and place was very clean . My food was cooked in front of me . I didn’t wait too long for my curry to be cooked . I asked for my garlic Nan to be well done and in a brown bag. The staff were very friendly and happy to oblige. All our food was still hot when we got back home and was very tasty. We will definitely be going back. Everything was spot on .

Recently moved to the area and have been trying to find the best Indian delivering to NN7… I have to say, hands-down Rani is the best I’ve had so far. Every element was cooked excellently and every dish balanced with flavor perfectly. The lamb chops had good meat levels, pakoras were crisp on outside but still moist chicken on the inside, lamb madras was delicious - lovely flavor, good meat:sauce ratio, and the meat itself was flavoursome and tender! Highly recommend for the curry connoisseur :)

Usually really good with delivery and quality but it was really late this time and the food was stale and cold

Unfortunately, I didn't like my chicken biryani.. I found it too salty and the spices not well integrated, I always order biryani when I order Indian since it's the only thing I like.. my family loved their currys tho 😊

Sadly every dish apart from the rice was either greasy, hard, flavourless or soggy :( Such a shame because it sounded lovely but I won’t be ordering from here again :(

Easy to order, food arrived quickly and hot. Friendly driver. Food delicious - great sized portions and very flavoursome. Even got extra Poppadums' with order (occasionally these can be "stale"), but food is always good and tasty - defo order again.

Just okay! Pros- good delivery, food was hot, samosa were nice and naan a generous portion, bombay potatoes nice flavour sauce but potato's were huge so the middle just tasted like a boiled potato! Cons 'Chutneys' were just 2 very watery tasting riatas- no lime or mango or anything else, poppadoms were soft and stale I actually couldn't eat them, massala was watery and just didn't really taste of anything at all so didn't eat that either and pilau rice just tasted like boiled watery rice. I made myself some tomato soup in the end and dunked in my naan. I think the delivery times are pulling the stars up here because the food unfortunately wasn't great on this occasion.

One of the items was missing. Pulav rice was missing in the delivered items.

Very disappointed after ordering at Ranis a few times, the food was really over cooked and oily couldn’t eat it. It’s a shame as we’ve always enjoyed our food from here. Was also cold as well. I hope it improves for the next order please and this is just a one off.

Food was ok, but not spectacular. My wife ordered a vegetable curry that said it was medium but it ended up being too hot for her to eat. Balti was quite mild. For the price of takeaway these days we won’t bother again.

Fast delivery and the food was superb I would recomend and order again.

Most of the food was lovely, and tasted great. However the onion bhaji was very oily and hard. Although the samosa tasted good they very oily. However the curries taste great, Will definitely try again minus the onion bhaji.

The food was substandard with miniscule meat portions and insipid masala. Tasteless and mild in the extreme. I had to escort the driver from some 200 mtrs away as he could not find the address. The food was obviously cold as well. A terrible experience.

Great taste but the sauce in my madras was just too watery. Papadoms were also stale & gone soft so that was a disapointment.

Honestly the worst Indian food I’ve ever had I like onions but not so much that there is no room for meat. Lucky for me I ordered tandoori chicken as an extra so to make up the cost to get it delivered unluckily for me it was desert dry and over burnt. Never from here again lesson learned.

Disappointed this time!! the Chicken Pakora was overdone, chicken tough also Popadoms were not fresh. The main was first class

Paneer was over sweet and lacked paneer. 6 cubes provided and mainly sauce, at £10 is disappointing. Should note that despite the name, this is NOT Indian food or Indian style (take it from an Indian). Rather it is more Bangladeshi hence Tandoori. It would seem the word Indian is used as the word has an identity in cuisine and as a marketing tool. I think Bangladeshi food is very good, especially their tandoori side of things and Bombay aloo. Anyway I digress, the naan was good value, the rice was well made and the driver was polite and on time.

Chicken masala sauce was very watery like it had been watered down. The cream poured on top of the dish had separated / was off. There were three large chunks of chicken were not fully cooked.

The food is very delicious and have good quantity. I missed my drink in the order though . But will definitely order again

Estimated delivery time was between 19:10 and 19:25, didn’t arrive until 19:45, called them at 19:30 asking about our order and was told it left 10mins ago. From our house to the rani is only 8mins Shouldn’t have been that late

I usually order from here when I want an Indian takeaway. This time i I added a vegetable thali to my tandoori chicken and chana masala, as I thought that would give me a good variety. Sadly, the thali was very carb heavy - I really should have read the menu more closely! In addition to the expected pilau rice, a naan and onion bhaji, there were two potato based dishes (Bombay potato and aloo sag) and a vegetable curry that, frankly, had very little visible vegetable in it at all, just lots of sauce. For £12.50, that doesn’t really give good value, although luckily for me I had benefitted from the discount. Perhaps ensure that the veg curry has vegetable in it and change one of the potato dishes to something else.

Too many Indian takeaways dont cater well for vegetarians. Twice now veg meals are just potatoes and little else. Bit of advice guys, improve the veg meals, as good as the meat dish and ditch potatoes. Ive been to India, they know how to to veg meals!

Easy to order from, food delivered quickly, very tasty. Some times the chicken can be a bit tough (rarely), but have ordered lots of times from here, and will do again.

Korma was tasteless and chips were cold

Starters Bhaji and samosa was lovely apart from the Mango chutney was like water just different colour!! We ordered two different curry’s both had no flavour and again was watery. As well as ordering a keema naan and a plain and both was again the same.
