The Range Coffee Shop in Exeter

This is my go to shop for art & craft materials, it's also great for Christmas or Halloween stuff & kids games & puzzles

I've been there many times now and customer service is amazing and the young lad Nathan is helpful and very funny he should get a pay rise

that Nathan boy what works in the cafe is a really hard worker and was really nice person I give him 5 starts

I when to the range a couple days ago and the Nathan what work there was really nice and helpful

It's a big range of products some cheaper the other places some more expensive! But it's okay! At the checkout been a long queue but only one till open.

Loved it 1st time visiting here.

A great choice of home decor at good prices

Good value merchandise, now has an aisle of "Iceland" freezers for popular frozen items

This store was very messy even though there were staff moving around on the shop floor. We checked out having only filled two baskets as we got sick and tired of having to move for a plain clothed female member of staff who had left her manners at home. I don't know where she thinks she works but her entitlement made the only customers in the store leave.

A good mix of anything you'd likely need around the home.

Well stocked shop at the time we were there. Great choices in the crafts section. Only giving it a 2 star because the place was absolutely filthy. Shocking.

If you're planning on shopping at Iceland and using your card and vouchers, don't bother the cashier point blank refused to take our money off voucher and said management told them not to take them

Very large with to much stuff. Store seemed untidy and claustrophobic. Not enough choice of what I wanted in the arts and craft area, a good selection of everything arty but not acrylic stamps. Better online companies.

Be careful, the shelf prices and the prices you pay may not always match. We bought a duvet cover set; the shelf price was £11, but at the cashier, it was £18. I went back to the shelf and brought the £11 tag, and they explained that it was from a promotion that ended yesterday, and they had forgotten to update the prices on the shelves.And when I wrote about this to customer service, I did not receive any feedback.

Convenient place for your DIY, craft, homeware etc needs .. and now with Iceland included. They do a big range of holiday decorations and currently have lots of Christmas decs at 75% off, so well worth stocking up for next year. There's also a cafe, loo and free level parking at the site .. and an Aldi very close by.

Bigger store, good value items and Large family cafe.

Two stars purely due to the inaccessibility of the disabled loo. The red emergency cord is supposed to touch the floor and be unobstructed.

Big shop, at the moment alot of christmas stuff - alot to choose from.

Always well stocked and reasonable prices. Can be hard to find a member of staff though if you have any questions.

Very disappointed the place was freezing inside & as for the cafe !!! I ordered a bacon roll & was told its a 25 minute wait

This unfinished unit has been sat in my lounge for over a week. I've went to the Range to get help, I was in there for 1/2hr before I got to talk to anyone then was fobbed off. If you complain by email they don't answer, the more you email they get pushed back & no number to ring. I'll never buy anything from there again.

Each time I visit, the prices creep further up and the quality gets worse. New shop is larger and nicer than old store, but still expensive for what it is. Edit: 25th October The store is Dog friendly. But not the cafe. Unfortunately there is no sign that conveys this. By the entrance of the cafe there is a sign that says 'Dogs welcome on a lead' but this applies to the whole shop. Not the cafe. Which isn't dog friendly. Why have a dog friendly shop with a non dog friendly cafe and not have any signs that say the cafe is not dog friendly. I did try and feedback the logical fallacy to the manager but he gave the impression he couldn't care less. Sad really as the cafe isn't too bad but we will not be returning.

Ordered food at 1.30 , 2 jacket potatoes, cafe was quiet so wasn’t expecting much of a wait. It came to 2.20 and we still haven’t had our food, when questioned they said it would be another 10 minutes, so an hour wait for two jacket potatoes? We lost patience and time due to other commitments so we asked for a refund and left without eating. The service and timing is appalling. I wasn’t sure if they had gone to find a field to dig the potatoes up or what? Because how on earth does it take that long when there was 4 members of staff working and it was an hour of waiting with still no food. The man apologised and said it was a mishap of communication.. how is this acceptable?! It cant be that hard to pass on an order. If you’re happy to wait and have plenty of time to waste sitting hungry, then I’d say go for it! But I can’t comment on the quality of food as I think if I was still there, I would still be waiting!! Rubbish.

Not been in for a while. Refurb great, better menu, but very rude American lady served us. Really shouldn't be in hospitality!!! Breakfast was good value for money, shame she literally slammed the plates on the table. Get friendlier staff and would be much better

Having visited today 01.10.24 Went to cafe with my sister-in-law staying with me from Cornwall we were forever in the queue Having a tea and a coffee our lunch was so over a microwaved it was really too hard to eat How it is ok to per cook a breakfast then microwave it I'll never know its was unedible . I took some pictures but no where to up load

It was like faulty towers .Our first visit was excellent but today appalling. 3 staff one appeared to be a manager.Ordered two baps and tea at 11.10 Choice limited but paid for baps Cleared our own table(staff under no pressure) then was told nobaps.no white bread but had to request a refund which challenged the managers till skills.All hot drinks served without saucers?where do you put a tea bag? or a spoon and tables not cleared during our stay.2 complete breakfasts were left un touched guests had complained.Condensation prohibits seeing the food offer which appeared to be white rolls and sandwiches.The worst breach appeared to be the manager s personal hygiene near food he continually touched his nose mouth and chin and hair .We both have hygiene certificates and could not believe what we observed. Nobody was rude but no direction was given to the staff and dishes stayed on the tables.One was cleared it took 3 visits to the table, no tray, cloth or cleaner in use.We visited 3 weeks ago and it was fine.What has happened?

The cafe looks nice and cosy with soft seating aswell as chairs and tables...but the food was very disappointing. We had 2 full English breakfasts, we were told it was half hour wait..but it was at least that..and it wasn't even very busy. The eggs were overdone and rubbery, bacon and sausages were OK.. we asked for tomato ketchup and the boy brought just 1 sachet for my friend and didn't even ask me if I wanted anything. Coffee was good but we had finished it by the time the food arrived. The staff were walking in and out with food orders but didn't once pick up dirty dishes on their way back to the kitchen..so eventually after an hour there were only 2 tables that were clean with no dirty dishes on. I mean, surely that's common sense?! 🙄 Such a shame, as its a lovely venue and the shop is superb.

The Range has a good choice of houseware and furniture everything you need for your home, under one roof. You can take a break and have lunch in it's lovely restaurant. Ample free parking for 3 hours.

Although the shop itself was ok. The cafe located inside was such a disappointment. Long wait to be served. The lady teaching a trainee was so condescending. The food wasn't great. Use the shop but avoid the cafe.

Shop is good and has a good range of items. The cafe food needs attention. The breakfast is low priced but also of low quality. Waited 20 mins as told it was freshly made, however bacon was nearly raw, egg was hard, hash brown was greasy and chewy, sausage had been cremated, Food was barely warm. I though it was a bad day so after a couple of days gave it another try but had the same experience. I guess you get what you pay for ?

Just went and spent £250+ at the Range and we were served by the most helpful chap in the world! His name was Connor and I’ve never received such beautiful customer service in one of your stores! He was friendly, approachable, helping us pack all of our things and maintained lovely conversation despite the chaos around him! The other staff members seemed a bit grim faced due to how busy the store was and Connor was constantly whipping his head around to say thank you to the other team members for everything they were doing to help! Give this man a raise, he made my day! :-D

Always a good selection in the shop. Had a Latte in the cafe that was like warm dishwater. Took it back they gave me another that wasn't much better.

Incredibly poor customer service, till staff don't great, lack communication skills and basic manners. Had a poor experience, spent upwards of £85, till staff didn't even say the price of our shop and completely ignore us throughout our experience.

Absolutely disgusting customer service from till staff, so rude, no communication, will definitely favour to shop elsewhere from now on

Great store, with a varied stock. You can also grab lunch here and there is an average selection of lunch options. Nothing fancy but accessible and quick.

The Range has everything you could possibly need and now has a menu of main meals in the cafe

The shop is good but cafe is not as good value as it used to be and wouldn't recommend a bacon roll as two small rashers of bacon in a roll

It's basically bnm but I think it's a tiny bit cheaper for some things!

Always something to buy even when just looking around.

Good store..large selection of stuff..Dee Dees cafe not much to shout home about...1045am and ran out of bacon sandwiches and hot cross buns..hey ho..

Want shopping with family today At the range exeter I purchased a box of big night of popcorn toffee flavour To find out half way home its 4 Days out Of date. (DATE ON BOX SAY 6/6/2024) Phoned up and they said they would take it of the Shopfloor Don't BELIEVE IT Hahaha Pleace check the date when shopping at the range exeter

Fairly large store, discount type, sells big range of goods , from decorating materials, craft materials, home lighting, garden furniture and lights, cookware and garden equipment.

This is for the cafe - a very ignorant woman saw me waiting at the counter to be served (there was no one else in the queue), and instead decided to walk in the back and do the dishwasher. I waited for 5 minutes before walking away. No wonder it the cafe was empty with such lazy staff

Huge store with everything you need plus a cafe inside.

It's the range, it sells almost everything you need and everything you don't need. Staff are friendly and helpful. Gets pretty busy with long queues but usually moves fast enough.

It is what it is, get what you pay for.

As I write this, I am literally sat in the cafe, what can I say, absolute shocking both on a service front, food front and the cafe itself. There are currently 3 other couples here, staff wise, an American lady at the till and a guy that doesn't seem to want to leave his office. There are dirty plates on the tables, crumbs and dirt all over the floor and after having ordered were shouted at to go back to pick up our drinks from the till, despite being literally 5 steps away. It took forever to actually get served. Just absolutely shocking, I even had to wipe my own table. Our toasties came out looking like theyd been dropped on the floor

Once of those shops that has products you never knew you needed, or even existed! Easy to park here, well organised store with a surprisingly large selection of furniture. Also a huge selection of mirrors and statement pictures for your interior walls. Staff were friendly and fast. Store was very clean and fresh feeling.

The Range are quick to take your money, non-existent to resolve issues! B&M have better quality products and many times it's two thirds of the price and the service is far better, so, I have started shopping there now! I tried speaking to customer service at the Range today and it was the normal, disgusting service!

I bought an oil filled radiator, which unfortunately was faulty The return process was straightforward giving me great confidence in future purchases

I don't know, I only drove past it. I expect it's much the same as their other stores.

Been twice to get some fabric cut. Told to wait at the fabric table and no one came left after 25 mins. Second time asked for same only to be told they couldn't cut fabric due to having a bad back.I won't be usi g this store again. Dunelm are much more accommodating.
