Subway in Exeter

Worst experience ever…The female staff (Name starting with T with glasses on) had a worse attitude, disappointed with how the subway hiring system. Also, they chatted a lot and not even pay any attention on what they are making. Little ingredients and wrong making.

Ordered online. Stale bread, hardly any filling or sauce. Have ordered through deliveroo several times with the same outcome. Really poor value for money.

Just awful, rude staff, every table dirty, floor covered in rubbish, multiple menu items missing, bread was stale, missing ingredients we ordered. I’d just suggest going elsewhere

AWFUL AWFUL SERVICE. Ordered at around 02:20:43 AM and it’s currently 02:51 as I am writing this review. I couldn’t be more disappointed right now. All of the saver subs SOLD OUT. Not very appropriate for a university student expecting a cheap SCRAN after a fever Monday. It had been THIRTY minutes and we have ALL been waiting for our 6 inchers. There are not enough employees. HORRIBLE service. Will not be back again. Pace of an absolute sloth. I would have given 0 stars if I could.

A group of friends and I visited this establishment at around 2:15am on a Tuesday morning, after a night at Fever nightclub. We had to queue for over an hour to receive our food. There were at least 20 people waiting, all had similar wait times to us. There was only one employee working, who was working at a very slow pace considering the number of people who were queueing, and my friends and I firmly believed he should have had more support. There was no seating available, with many opting to sit on the dirty floor. When our food finally came (over an hour after we ordered) it was typical Subway food. I was very disappointed in my experience here, and will not be returning, instead opting for other food establishments. I urge other students at the University of Exeter to avoid this place.

Arrived there to the one employee and her friend smoking outside and blocking the entrance, only to be told “order on the machine and i’ll be five minutes.” the phone was ringing non stop whilst we were alone in there and she was smoking. our 20% discount on the app did not work on the machine and the employee said there was nothing she could do. she also got my order wrong.

Being newly refurbed I thought it would be fresh and clean! I was the only customer in there and had ordered to takeaway which was just as well as the tables were stacked with left over food and wrappers. The shelves and surfaces were not restocked with crisp etc so no choice there and they were covered in crumbs. Absolutely no customer service - I thanked the person who served me and said goodbye and got no response at all. On top of that the sub looked like it had been hacked apart with a butter knife and was in pieces when I unwrapped it and it had more olives than any other filling so did not taste anything else. Really disappointing, what a let down Subway!

Good for students but you are forced to use a machine to order now with no customer service/ human contact. The sandwich I want ( and had for the last 6 years at least!) will not let you order on the machine. Just Look at SIDWEL ST reviews, at least 6 other reviews with one star or bellow of a similar nature to my one.

Awful service attempting to call the restraints over 10 times with not answer phone jsut kept hanging up all I wanted to do was make a request for a sandwich I had ordered at 5 in the evening ridiculous surely they were not that busy or understaffed to miss that many phone calls.

Went Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. Guy behind counter ignored our order after realising he made a mistake and put cheese on the order. He then reluctantly remade my order and then complained when I asked for the rest of it. I ordered two foot long cookies and all I was given was 6 cookies, after having to ask for the sixth. In price a foot long is the same as 12 cookies, we were given 6 instead of our two foot longs and were told this was all we were going to get (instead of the 20ish we were owed). After asking for more he told us that’s all he could give us and would not give us a refund for what we are missing (the double meat on the tuna, the 14 cookies and the cherry Pepsi we ordered when a fruit shoot was given instead). Would not recommend, especially when the one working tonight is on. Had no customer care and spoke to us like we were trash. He did not call out our order and then blamed us for not hearing his order when 4 of us were waiting for this order to come through. One of us is hard of hearing and was told that is was her fault for not ‘hearing’ the order that the other three of us did also not hear. There was a hundred ways that tonight could’ve been dealt with, the way he dealt with it tonight was bottom of the pile.

New store is super lovely !! Clean and lots more seats and service is always 10/10

Not as good food as it norms. Geese was awful as I’d ordered American and hash browns awful.

Waited for 15 minutes only to get turned away as the sole staff member working there was overwhelmed with delivery orders and couldn’t serve anyone in the queue. It’s not the first time this location has been understaffed and it’s quite concerning that management are blind to this issue. Sincerely a very hungry uni student.

Place is dirty and not much filling in the sandwich

Wasnt in by the time it got here - tried to contact the restraunt but phone didnt even ring, no customer support for uber eats and driver ignored my messages.

Felt pressured when choosing what to order as I had been there 10 secs and asked for more time and staff stared at me. Was extremely ungenerous with amount of lettuce and sauce. Tried the waffle fries - were soggy and undercooked. Tasted frozen Diet Coke came out of the machine clear. Ice machine not working. No napkins given to me with the order. The sandwich was wrapped in 1 wrapper Straws and lids were not provided with the cup

I went for a two hour trial at subway in queen street. My experience there was bad. The store looked very dirty specifically the floor was sticky and the windows was dirty. The manager of the Store was not friendly and I found it Difficult to communicate with him. I felt like I was a issue and should not Be there. After twenty minutes I said to him that the job was not for me. I would not recommend visiting here.

changed my delivery time 3 times, my chicken bites where stone cold along with my sandwich not toasted, forgot my sauces , only thing warm was the meatballs

I was really sceptical about Subway, but it was late and we came to Exeter for tomorrow's open day in the uni, so I was afraid we'll not find any other food, as it was 9pm, so we had no choice but buy here. But I need to say it exceeded all my bad expectations! The tuna sandwich turned out to be fresh and tasty (though I need to say that I deliberately refused to add any sauces). In fact I was overcautious, because 50 meters down the street there were plenty of great food choices open, so don't rush to buy near the station once you land in Exeter. (Also it turned out to be plenty of food in the hotel, so I need to say Exeter is definitely not the last place in the world about food).

Well where can I start the promotion is very misleading and the place is filthy I think EHO neet to pay a visit , there is not drink dispenser as so you have to have a bottle of drink that will cost you more than a meal deal at Tesco s , the whole point of having a sub way is the unlimited drinks not pay a premium price to get a bottle from the fridge. and staff are so inwelcoming is very uncomfortable. Never coming back .

Subs were supposed to be toasted- the bread is still very soft and they are cold. Hash browns are soggy and the insides are hard. Quite disappointed

Food was great as always. Service was ok. Atmosphere wasn’t great as the male and female servers were just talking to another guy in the shop, not a customer, clearly just someone they knew. Didn’t make for a great atmosphere.

Delivery was super fast, however the Breakwich was missing hash browns and the Meatball Marinara was missing jalepenos.

The two girls who were working last night at about 10:30 we applaud you both of you were working super hard and the girl who made my sandwich omg it was the best one I’ve had from there in a long time well done!

Somehow, my address was showing as 91, not 61. So that delayed things somewhat. By the time it hot to me it was all pretty cold, and the garlic slice was missing.

To be honest,sandwiches are horrible. For this money, it is better to go to Mcdonalds

My order never turned up even though said it has been delivered!!!!!! Absolutely useless!

Both subs arrived toasted when I'd not ticked the toasted box as we didnt want them toasted. No onions or cheese on one sub when these had been requested and no lettuce on the other sub. Wouldn't bother again as clearly can't follow order choices.

Well it's the next day and I still haven't received any food, happens all the time, after this order didn't turn up I ordered at mcdonalds, that turned up 25 minutes late and cold, will stop using just eat as it's not the first time

I bought a cookie for my partner on my way home from work this evening. She has just bitten into it and felt something scratching against her mouth and teeth. I am absolutely appalled to say that it was a piece of metal wire. Luckily my partner wasn’t hurt, but we are both extremely annoyed. It is a good job it wasn’t a child who had purchased the cookie.

I enjoyed subway and good prices for the all foods and drinks and I enjoyed having foot long sandwiches/ sland and chcocolate dounts can you have more different type of dounts please and I enjoyed dine in

Middle was lovely. Asked for sub to be toasted. Was overdone and very hard and crispy. Nearly broke my teeth on it. Usually no problems. Food was barely warm and hash browns cold.

Out of all the Subway stores in the city, this is the one I recommend the least. At lunch time when - I'm sure like many others - our time is limited and we need to grab a quick bite the service is consistently very slow. It's fine if they are busy but there tends to be no sense of urgency. In other stores you can see them making 2-3 sandwiches at once to clear the queue. The resulting sandwiches were not well made and in the case of one of the melts it was wrapped in paper, rather than the cardboard sleeve they use at other stores which stuck to the bread and filling.

The delivery service was great, but I couldn't get over what the "Meatless Philly" tasted like. It LITERALLY tastes like ****. For reference, I can confirm that I have "unusual" interests, so I know what **** tastes like. Sometimes I don't mind it, but I don't want to taste it in a sandwich. Absolutely disgusting to the point of inedibility. This is not a joke or exaggeration: The "meatless philly" tastes like scat. Please do something to change the flavour. I can imagine that some people enjoy it, but I can't imagine that it's any significant proportion of your clientele. Your substitute meat is so bad that it has driven me to publicly admit to this. You could not possibly have made a worse attempt at replicating the flavour of meat or making an appealing alternative flavour. With that said, the texture is fairly accurate to beef, possibly closer to the real thing than any other meat substitute I've ever eaten (though still some way off). It's just the flavour that's completely wrong. I also had a "big breakwich". That tasted great, but I can't honestly rate the overall quality more than 1 star when one of the sandwiches tastes the same before and after I've digested it, even if the other sandwich was good.

If i could give a 0 overall and for service i would! As a former assistant manager of Subway store, this was the single worst experience I have had in the 4 years since I left. The member staff was unapproachable, rude and obnoxious during the ordering process. Following this the first two orders were incorrect and the orders given weren't listened to in the first instance. When these issues were highlighted, the operative was rude and abructive to claim more money needed to be paid when he had failed to listen to the actual order in the first place. The operatives response was to ignore us, walk back behind the serving counter and serve the next person. It is important to mention that my senior colleague bought food from the same operative a week prior and found him to be rude, abruptive, unhelpful and everything Subway doesnt want its opertives to be. It was the biggest infringement of Subway customer policy I have seen since I left the business and a sandwich artist with that attitude should not be allowed to work in such a busy and popular store. My colleagues and I will never return to this store because of the appalling service and attitude we were given.

"We don't stock black pepper" is possibly NOT the best thing to hear from your server at a Subway. Not their fault a group bought every single cookie, mind you.

Ordered from here multiple times now and have had issues every time. From delivering the wrong order completely, items missing from order, ingredients in the sandwich which shouldn’t be in there to simple things like the sub wasn’t cut. I don’t understand how difficult it can be. Shocking service. The service when you go in store isn’t much better.

The food was shocking. My colleague’s meatball marinara was dry as a bone. My sub was dry, tasteless and squashed and my other colleague’s sub was squashed flat. Not the standard I expect from Subway, I won’t be ordering from here again!

It was nice today, Put alot more salad in. Sometimes you get no salad and no sauce? and the sandwich is not cut.
