A group of 8 of us, and 4 dogs, had lunch today after a dog walk. We all chose from the lunchtime special of a meal and a drink for £10, the food was lovely and served to us quickly, the staff were very friendly but professional, they provided dog water bowls too. This was our first visit here, but it definitely won't be the last.

Hadn't been here for a few years so we thought we'd give it a go again as we always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The soup was served lukewarm after waiting 25 mins. However, when reheated it was very nice. The main courses were a complete disappointment. The trout was overcooked and very dry, the garlic prawns were bereft of garlic and the potatoes dry. Although the chicken and ham hock filling was quite nice there were two pieces of chicken and one piece of ham inside. The pastry was rock hard. In summary, the service and atmosphere was good but the food was poor.

Sunday roasts and hot puddings with a cheese board all round. Fabulous drinks and hot coffees to finish. Looking forward to making my way through the menu and their upcoming live music and village events. 5⭐️ Aimee looked after us as usual, see you soon 😎

Unfortunately, didn't meet expectations. We popped in on a Sunday and decided to stay for food. For starter we ordered mushrooms on sourdough toast with spinach and mozzarella cheese. When it arrived the mozzarella was substituted for a soft boiled egg, this wasn't mentioned upon ordering. Also find it cheeky that they subbed the cheese for a much cheaper alternative yet still charged the same price of £8. It wasn't worth £8. When ordering the main, we went for the chicken Sunday roast. Upon ordering we were told there is no bread sauce and no cabbage. No reduction in price here either. When the meal arrived, as you can see from the picture, for £17 it's a meagre portion. The pig in blanket was missing and the stuffing seemed like it was from a packet mix and had been mixed with boiling water only and not put in the oven meaning it was soggy. The meal was also incredibly salty and the chicken was from the leg, so the cheapest form of meat they could have used. The pub itself is in a nice area and is aesthetically pleasing, but I would only recommend stopping for a drink, there are much better places to eat locally.

The service today was appalling. The lady who took our order got it wrong twice. Firstly, I ordered a bitter shandy and I received a bitter. Food took over an hour to arrive as did dessert and I ordered a single scoop of ice cream and received the morello cherry Sundae despite a second waitress coming back to confirm my order. My husband ordered the brownie for dessert and received the kids portion and the crumble which came out later than all the other desserts was inedible as it was burnt. The waiting time for meals across the restaurant was shockingly poor. The manager looked like a deer in headlights. I felt sorry for the wait staff as clearly they were taking the brunt of customer dissatisfaction. They’ve lost a customer.

We booked in the Rams Head for our office Christmas lunch, booking was for 1pm, first starters (only a handful of us) arrived around a hour and 40 mins later with mains filtering out roughly 2 hours in. The Turkey could only be described as a slab rather than slices but I can't comment on the taste because I went instead went for the Festive burger. While the Festive part seemed to be mainly down to the fact that it came with a watery gravy to dip the tiny portion of chips in, the burger was nice enough although I've had far better in similar establishment. By the time it came round for the Chocolate orange cheesecake our whole party were ready to go and we got desert to go so I can only comment on the consistency once I sat down on my which was very much defrosted gritty vanilla, drizzled in a chocolate orange sauce and very much what I would expect from the brakes basic range. As for service we were asked for drinks when we first arrived and never again for the entire time we were waiting, no one came to apologise for the horrific wait and no one seemed to care. All in all I certainly can't recommend based on my experience I understand that a office booking is not the norm but if you can't Staff/Cook to take those bookings then don't accept them. The location is quite nice though.

I had stopped going to this pub many years ago because quite frankly the food was not all that good. However, we were asked by friends to dine out one lunchtime and they chose the Rams Head. I was actually quite surprised, it has new owners since I had dined there previously, and we all had very nice meals and the staff were very friendly. It's in an excellent location in Grappenhall village and nicely decorated inside with lots of room. It also has a large carpark and outside eating area. I would be more than happy to dine there again.

It’s not a bad place, service a little slow — but seems like a place where the staff know everyone by name so it’s probably a community pub … anyway, the food was decent enough, though it was weird that the chips felt like they had come straight from a chippy rather than the usual way that they’re prepared haha… a pleasant surprise but I would’ve rather had more of them, than more of the salad (that was a little too much for me to be honest) — not sure if there’s much reason to be back but it was just fine for a one-off

We booked a table for 10 people (6 adults, 4 children) as part of a family get-together. There was a long wait to order food, then a long wait for starters, then a long wait for main courses. When the food did arrive, adults were served first but the children were left waiting until we asked about it. Eventually just our hungry 4-year old son was left waiting for his pizza. Again, we needed to ask about it and it arrived 10 minutes later. There was no apology from the waitress, who muttered under her breath accusing us of being rude for suggesting this wasn't okay. The manager did apologise when we spoke to her about it but was full of excuses about freshly cooked food and a "backlog". Our table was booked for 5.30 and the restaurant was half empty, so we dread to think what the service is like at peak times. The food was just fine but not great.

Went out for a drive on Easter Sunday and did our favourite game left or right whilst driving! We came across this lovely pub approximately 5.30pm Very nice welcome, those that had booked had been catered for so at a late arrival it was explained what was available! Still plenty and we were pleased with our options! 👍 Staff friendly and attentive. Two huge fresh Turkey dinners arrived after a sharing platter of tortillas with sauces and cheese. The dinners were delicious, meat, Yorkshire pudding, mash, roasties and lovely vegetables- I was determined to eat it all! Dog friendly which is a shame for us as our dog died in February, she would have loved it here 😢 dog biscuits and water plus fusses readily available 🐾 Smoking area available and for vaping too. Ample space for children to play and comfy pods for the coming nice weather 🤞 Lots of parking spaces! Following a new chef and a kitchen refurb food is back at The Farmers with a great fresh start! The chef has come from the highly acclaimed Dog & Partridge and has worked with the owners to ensure great pub grub is cooked and served brilliantly. We were one of the first diners with the new team and menu and it was a great success, the food was excellent, great ingredients, cooked and served really well. Really pleased with the new food and definitely recommend that people go and try the new menu and team.
