Typical Wetherspoons, spacious, clean, good prices and need Google maps to find the toilets.

Called for drinks only and enjoyed what was on offer. There was very good real ale to be had at exceptional prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Food always good, bit of a wait as large party in but warned when we ordered.

Wetherspoons. Says it all value, good food. Well done Tim Martin, keep them coming. ...added March 2024.....only call in for breckie when un the area but excellent to find that Kombucha is back on the shelves. Hope it sells enough to be available in all JD's. My tipple of choice we use JD's often.

Good food as usual. Pleasant atmosphere.

Recently called in for lunch and to compare other spoons venues, however this place leaves a bit to be desired, firstly I am waiting at the bar to be served and it’s like I’m invisible only for the barman to serve others first, When I get served it’s by a female who clearly needs lessons in customer care, When the food arrives there’s a shortage of chicken nuggets, obviously someone can’t count to ten, so when I speak to a staff member about this I was brought a single chicken nugget in a bowl by which time I had eaten the meal. This is a place I won’t be returning to in a hurry.

Decent Wetherspoons was really busy and quite small

Cosy place, spoons lore accurate food, service was great. They'd ran out of the drink I'd ordered but they quickly found a similar alternative. Thank you for the lovely time :)

Usual standard wetherspoons fair in a great location

Served quickly. Ordered 2 cocktails. Disappointed they were poured from a can.

Great range of well kept real ale and craft beers still at good prices. Ditto good wines and cocktails. Great staff and good service. Great meeting place and no piped music. Table service is very efficient, food keeps getting better.

Always good to see a Spoons promoting Cask ale as it does here. The Jorvik Blonde was on great form 👍🏻

I do enjoy going for a drink but yesterday I thought we would have some food The food was awful. We had the burger and it was like cardboard and burnt. What a shame .

This was the only spoons I hadn't done in Yorkshire making it the 360th spoons I had visited. Had my lunch which was OK and this spoons was quiet considering time of year.

Unfortunately waited over an hour for food and it was no busier than otther times we have been. Only two ladies serving the food and clearing up - rushing around having to deal with grumpy customers. Food was basic (we knew that coming) but waiting an hour for a jacket potato, kids ice cream and some chicken strips is silly.

Called in for quick pint and snack with friends, omg the food here is terrible, over cooked dry burger, some shocking pizza that was dressed with cress instead of rocket, just awful, never again

Lurvly chicken wings and Naga, plus old peculiar on tap.

Vast improvement on our previous visit. Fast and efficient service with our food arriving reasonably quickly after ordering. Also checking that everything was OK during our meal. Nice comfortable surroundings in the old post office and sorting office with a large real fire at one end. Photos are of a large breakfast and a brie and cranberry burger from the Christmas menu. No complaints.

Busy 'spoons. If you have any difficulties with stairs there are lots. Place is on four levels with the bar on the second from top. Not counting the WC which is always a trek. Beer garden entirely hard landscaped but there are many tables outside including a no smoking area. Not sure why probably for clean up reasons.

Gobsmacked is the best word to describe my experience this evening , a busy bar of one lady ( who was being served) a couple and my wife and I , as we waited patiently an elderly gentleman walks up to the bar , the boy serving finishes with his customer and proceeds to immediately serve the old man , leaving the couple next to us and ourselves flabbergasted . The duty manager , who had now finally returned to the bar asked who was next , foolishly I spoke up indicating it was the couple then ourselves , the young girl who clearly has no customer skills took hum-bridge to my frustration and firstly suggested I went elsewhere , immediately followed by we weren’t going to be served tonight( I would like to point out that no swearing occurred during this interaction or any acts of intimidation ) , I responded and finally turned away with the reply to her lack of professionalism with “whatever” . After she’d finished serving the couple I asked to speak in a more appropriate area to which she just came round to the public side of the bar , I attempted to explain the frustration that this happens a lot and perhaps some training should be in order for bar staff . After again the young girl attempted to continue to escalate the situation by saying the man was on his own , eh , what’s that got to do with owt ??? I pointed out I would be asking for a copy of her body cam , to which she clearly has no clue on GDPR or public access requests( the company even give you the email address to enquire for it ) , telling me it was only for the police . At this point a chose to leave , I did ask for her name so I could pursue this matter further with a higher management but sadly she could only aggressively say it was duty manger , this I believe came from the fact she had referred to me as love or some such derogatory name earlier in the conversation to which I had said it’s either sir or Chris. What a shame Weatherspoons employ youngsters to do the jobs of adults , clearly the duty managers have very little customer relation skills training or how to de escalate a situation caused by their own employees . Let’s hope higher management give a bit more consideration to the customer than the staff they employ when they contact me

Very nice as ever I was there after a day's walking. It was a walk I have done before, and it is one of my favourites. Anyway, the pub, while I knew Wetherspoons pubs are cheap. I did not expect to pay less than £2 for a pint of Worthingtons. £1.96 In total, I have the receipt to prove it. Unfortunately, I only had time for 1 drink, but it was a very nice finish to a great day.

Stopped for a meal - curry was excellent as is usual in JDW pubs. Nice atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff

Lovely weatherspoon. Very clean and a nice atmosphere. Had the Thursday curry club, food was fresh and piping hot.

Always busy, service a bit slow, not enough bar staff. Good cheap beer though.

Couldn't get the app to work. Sat outside as it was a hot day but we had to walk past the smokers as they have put smoking area outside the main rear doors and non smoking around the corner don't think they have though about that.

Visited on Bank holiday Monday for lunch so expected it to be busy which it was but the service and food were great. No complaints at all the staff were lovely and we would definitely visit again.

Lovely pub open late on a Wednesday..rasberry stout was vile...would go back and try another drink though

Its a spoons so you know what you're getting. It's just a lot nicer place than most other spoons. Really like it here.

She was then seen mocking us to the team leader, Dylan (?), who brought us our food with another generous helping of attitude. On a positive note, the kitchen staff did a great job of preparing our meals, which were well presented and delicious. It's been a long time since we've been in here, as we moved out of the area over a decade ago, and it's sad to see a place we loved to frequent being managed with such rude customer service and bad attitudes.

Went for a meal with friend from church. Ordered large mixed grill. Food was ok. Few chips but they were very nice. Onion rings were good too. Meats were nice but not hot. Chicken was tough. They have done better on other visits. Very quiet. Felt flat and lifeless. Such a shame as it's been good in the past. Maybe next visit will be better.

Although prices are reasonable...the food was bad...if you want a good meal don't bother with this one.

Plenty of seating inside, I wish the outdoor seating area was a bit bigger but it is ample enough. Food on a budget, family friendly during the day.

Wetherspoon's is always good for cheaper food and drink than most places, though not as cheap as it used to be, but where is? Great building as usual.

Food was delivered with one chicken piece missing and no hot chocolate in the drinks machine. It was 630pm and not busy.

It's 20.45 and temperature outside is 19 degrees. Flipping cold in here so won't be staying for food. Didn't complain as was told in another Wetherspoons and was told they couldn't to anything about it.

Visited here a good few years ago and wasn’t impressed. It’s worth acknowledging that they’ve remained consistently bad. Came for breakfast. Waited 30 minutes from ordering, which for Wetherspoons is unheard of. The pancakes came cold and soggy. The full English was stone cold and there were no beans. It was as though the meals had been sitting on the side for 20minutes and had been forgotten about. Had to speak to staff to rectify the missing beans. Bizarrely, he had to come to my table to check that I was being honest. By the time the cold beans arrived, the rest of the breakfast was beyond terrible. The member of staff did apologise. Safe to say, I won’t be returning for a third time in the future.

Ok as far as a spoons goes. Food average. Beer was off and the staff knew it but still served it. They did exchange the pint that i took back. Confusion over food due to new tables and mixed up numbers.

Called in one afternoon mid week, a meal and drink offer, plenty of room and very little noise.

Really good service and nice people. There was a dead bee in my drink though.

Been in several pubs in Richmond today and Spoons has the friedlest most wecoming barmaid on today.

Some staff are friendly and helpful but other are rude and just starting problem

Nice breakfast, I really enjoyed it. Only 1 negative, there was only 1 coffee machine working , and no-one able to fix it , so there were big ques just to get a coffee. Great besides that.

I’m confused how my burger was so burnt yet so cold. The burger was like a hockey puck and the bun was black inside. The chips and onion rings were lukewarm. The plate was burning hot so it must have been sitting waiting awhile. I’m guessing there was an issue as the place was dead and everyone’s orders were wrong or late.

Well I still hear after 45 mins. Waiting for food. Ordered via an app my drinks came but food is t here. I think having two staff may be an issue and I feel so sorry for them. They are pleasant. From a customer point of view though. I am starving am I am still waiting. People need to work yet they are stretched. It’s horrible to be a customer but I feel for these guys.

Good venue offering really cheap drinks which are a of a good selection & quality. Spacious seating area inside & outside.

Tea not very nice ,had to put the milk in from a machine and it came out hot and curdled in my tea , requested fresh milk ans a new tea which was provided but not a good idea that milk for tea out of a machine , ordered bacon butty which arrived cold and the bread was spread very thickly with some sort of disgusting synthetic spread and that up against cold bacon was quite frankly not very nice won’t be eating there again

Standard spoons You get what you expect

I've had problems with this place before but tonight was an utter joke.. My food came within 10 minutes (no arsed about that) but my drink took a whole half hour and that's because I had to get my partner to go up to the bar (bartender didn't even care), partner ordered his stuff just after I did and got his drinks within 5 minutes. They also gave us a well done steak instead of rare and the only helpful staff member tonight was a male server

Looking rather tired and in need of a makeover. However, it still provides a wide selection of family-friendly food.

Great Central location, value for money, clean and outdoor seating for food and drinks.

Unbelievably long wait for drinks ordered on app. Pub was quiet but staff too interested in talking to each other. Waited 20 mins then went to bar to then wait another 7 mins. Glasses dirty with lip stick, tables all horribly sticky and staff just not bothered. Wetherspoons puds and hotels certainly seem to be going to the dogs with standards lately and lots of people are saying it as well!

Waiting 3/4 hour for cold breakfast, broken hard fried eggs, bacon that hadn’t seen the grill, not happy- NO EXCUSE for cold food with the amount of microwaves in the kitchen! This was the second time in two weeks that the same thing happened so will not be giving them another chance

Worst Wetherspoons ever. Where do I start, very long wait for food. The waitress who brought our food to the table was carrying 3 plates of our food, one plate was virtually tucked under her chin, god knows how much germs were coming from her mouth into our food. I ordered soy sauce dip but received bbq. My daughter ordered a panini with chips, there’s was the least amount of chips I’ve ever received in Wetherspoons, there was 15 chips in total. Saying all the above the staff looked like they were working hard cleaning tables etc… on a busy bank holiday

Nipped in for breakfast. The staff were really helpful and the food was both really nice and served quickly. Really well located in the centre of town

We were lucky. The small fish was on a managers special. 2 meals and drinks for less than£15. The place was spotless

Tables dirty staff stressed and miserable

Pretty standard Spoons but not as good as my local one. Sampled a few beers and none tasted great, although, I guess, that could have been the beers themselves. Small range of condiments compared to my local - eg no mango chutney to go with the curry. Coffee machine also playing up and my mocha tasted like water from one machine but was ok from the other.

It's a Wetherspoons. You know what you're getting. We went for breakfast which was excellent. There is a beer garden but no parking so good luck with that! I would go back

Place was clean staff were friendly The curry was hot but the nan bread was hard it had been overcooked the poppadoms were greasy and not crisp all through

Stayed in richmond for weekend, called in friday evening for drinks, service was good & drinks came via app reasonably quick, wasnt overly busy, had pizza there aswell before leaving, called saturday but was buisier, service was slow & seemed to be understaffed, ordered few drinks via app but still waiting 15 mins later so went to bar & got drinks, just got sat down & then the drinks arrived, would def go back but would avoid using app

Poor choice of ales. Ordered 2 standard fish and chips, dread to think what the small looks like! The fish was also very tough. It is not the first time I have been disappointed at this venue but it will be the last as I will not be back.
