Great range of well kept real ale and craft beers still at good prices. Ditto good wines and cocktails. Well trained friendly staff and good service. Great meeting place and no piped music. Table service is very efficient, food keeps getting better.

Had a mixed grill and a shandy, cost me around £16 and whilst tasty, I was a little bit disappointed with the size of the portion compared with other wether spoon pubs. Overall a good experience but not worthy of 5 stars

Lovely pint of craft moonshine cider and the food was pretty good

Visited for breakfast whilst staying in Richmond. The small pancakes were very disappointing as the portion was very small for an adult meal. But the breakfast wrap was great. Service was good.

Quick and efficient service, food good and filling. Only issue was drinks machine which is common in Wetherspoons as they need constant attention and when the pubs are busy the staff don’t have time to sort.

Nice Wetherspoons, a spacious area inside with a few separate areas. Food came out as quickly as expected and was all good. Friendly service and a good selection of ales.

Popped in on our way back to the apartment after being overcharged for our drinks in the town centre. Very busy good layout staff very helpful and polite, we didn't have food but we had the double spirits deal brilliant £10.70 for two double spirits and mixer against £10.50 for 2 pints in the town centre......no win really.....

£1.99 a pint. 5*. Excellent service, polite friendly staff. Food was fine for price paid.

Food always good, bit of a wait as large party in but warned when we ordered.

It's 20.45 and temperature outside is 19 degrees. Flipping cold in here so won't be staying for food. Didn't complain as was cold in another Wetherspoons and was told they couldn't do anything about it as air-conditioning was centrally controlled.

We ordered fish & chips and an ultimate burger. The fish was tiny in comparison to those served at other weatherspoons (felt like a small portion) and was borderline batterless. To say it was an ultimate burger, it was very disappointing and resembled more of a child size burger. Chips were barely cooked with hard pieces of potato inside. Also, venue was airless with no air-con on a hot day.

Just called in for a spot of lunch while passing through. Nice pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Would definitely call in again.

Disappointing meal , Three of us called in for lunch on Sunday July 14th , We ordered two Pizzas and Scampi and Chips , We waited 30 minutes as the Pizzas are freshly made , However both Pizzas were just luke warm and the Scampi and chips were also just luke warm , It seems as though they had been standing out for a while , We have eaten there before with no problems so it seems it has gone down hill since then , We won't be back.

Food was standard spoons, service was decent, atmosphere OK. Wheelchair accessible entrance to the front, but a lift down to the actual bar which is barriered off, bar staff assistance required to use so if you hate making a fuss or asking for help avoid.

Great food as ever at Spoons. But for goodness sake employ more staff. Everything was an unacceptable wait. One serving tables and one the bar isn't enough. Tables were not cleared and it wasn't even busy! We went elsewhere for drinks after dining as the wait was verging on ridiculous.

Three weeks in a row and always something that they don’t have. First two weeks no bottles of wine and no w today no draft lager. Cock and bull story given by the staff as to why, but given the size of this company any issues would and should be sorted immediately

Tremendously poor service, breakfast took 25 mins, bacon was missing. The cutlery that was given was dirty. To be honest it's pretty much a standard offering from Weatherspoons.

Came into Wetherspoons on a Saturday evening, we ordered food at 17:28 and didn’t get it til 18:20, I understand this isn’t a major long wait but it’s a long time for a Wetherspoons. When we finally got our order they brought the wrong food, my partner ordered a southern fried chicken wrap and they brought some half cooked spicy shawarma chicken wrap. My partner is allergic to nuts so he wouldn’t touch this since it was spicy and could have contained nuts. They said they would replace it but this then took another 15 minutes. Absolutely shocking service in this Wetherspoons and I won’t be coming back here!!

I frequently eat at this lovely establishment. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The manager, Martin, deserves a special mention because he goes above and beyond for his customers and treats his staff with respect. I recently tried the new dish, the Fiesta Brunch. It was only £3.66 and absolutely delicious. It consists of poached egg, guacamole, pico de gallo, halloumi, mushrooms and salsa. Wetherspoons are constantly putting on healthier dishes to appeal to everyone. I regularly meet friends here and feel very welcome. There is no pressure to leave. There is a very relaxed atmosphere. Well done Wetherspoons.

Absolutely characterless external time the building which is in stark contrast to the interesting shape and decor inside. Usual 'Spoons beer and food menu available. It was midweek so it was very quiet and lacking a little in atmosphere. Food order arrived quickly but was wrong, however after a quick check this was replaced with the correct order, these things happen and luckily I was in no rush. Very cheap food but not great, about what you would expect for the price when eating out. Good selection of ales available on cask. Lots of availability of seating.

Always a lovely breakfast and helpful and considerate staff. The breakfast wraps are beaut! The staff are always willing to help and service is excellent

Staff badly need some training in this bar. I hate shouting to be served but the staff here just serve the first person that shouts the loudest. Totally clueless to there surroundings and who’s been waiting longest. When I pointed this out I was told”if you’re not happy go elsewhere”. I gladly took them up on there generous offer and was so pleased I did. The staff in The Golden Lion were far more pleasant and actually knew what they were doing. Reading the reviews on here looks like I’m not the only one who thinks the Witherspoons staff in Richmond could do with a term at charm school 🤨☹️

Always a welcome place to drop in for breakfast when staying over in Richmond . Take the shortcut past the museum to the market place.

Certainly not the best wetherspoons

Terrible service, we waited 30 minutes for the order, in the end we received food that was thrown on the table and we had to go get the beer ourselves, although the waiter said she would bring it to the table. We'll never go there again. Just awful

Regimental weekend. Black sheep beer on the turn "undrinkable". Magnificent ques at the bar. Staff unaware of who's next. Food portions childlike. Other than that, it's wonderful.. XIX

1st time visit with wife and son, spur of the moment to have something to eat in Greeted and taken to table Staff pleasant. Give us time to choose our meals, then returned to take order. .meals came and must say we all enjoyed what we ordered. Establishment clean although busy with customers it was not a noisy atmosphere was pleasant . Would I and family visit again most definitely!!!

Cracking wetherspoons with some nice beers at great prices haven't tried the food so can't comment but it's always busy

Called for drinks only and enjoyed what was on offer. There was very good real ale to be had at exceptional prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Recently called in for lunch and to compare other spoons venues, however this place leaves a bit to be desired, firstly I am waiting at the bar to be served and it’s like I’m invisible only for the barman to serve others first, When I get served it’s by a female who clearly needs lessons in customer care, When the food arrives there’s a shortage of chicken nuggets, obviously someone can’t count to ten, so when I speak to a staff member about this I was brought a single chicken nugget in a bowl by which time I had eaten the meal. This is a place I won’t be returning to in a hurry.

Decent Wetherspoons was really busy and quite small

Awful food but we enjoyed having a drink. Burger was like cardboard and burnt

I do enjoy going for a drink but yesterday I thought we would have some food The food was awful. We had the burger and it was like cardboard and burnt. What a shame .

This was the only spoons I hadn't done in Yorkshire making it the 360th spoons I had visited. Had my lunch which was OK and this spoons was quiet considering time of year.

Unfortunately waited over an hour for food and it was no busier than otther times we have been. Only two ladies serving the food and clearing up - rushing around having to deal with grumpy customers. Food was basic (we knew that coming) but waiting an hour for a jacket potato, kids ice cream and some chicken strips is silly.

Called in for quick pint and snack with friends, omg the food here is terrible, over cooked dry burger, some shocking pizza that was dressed with cress instead of rocket, just awful, never again

Vast improvement on our previous visit. Fast and efficient service with our food arriving reasonably quickly after ordering. Also checking that everything was OK during our meal. Nice comfortable surroundings in the old post office and sorting office with a large real fire at one end. Photos are of a large breakfast and a brie and cranberry burger from the Christmas menu. No complaints.

Busy 'spoons. If you have any difficulties with stairs there are lots. Place is on four levels with the bar on the second from top. Not counting the WC which is always a trek. Beer garden entirely hard landscaped but there are many tables outside including a no smoking area. Not sure why probably for clean up reasons.

Gobsmacked is the best word to describe my experience this evening , a busy bar of one lady ( who was being served) a couple and my wife and I , as we waited patiently an elderly gentleman walks up to the bar , the boy serving finishes with his customer and proceeds to immediately serve the old man , leaving the couple next to us and ourselves flabbergasted . The duty manager , who had now finally returned to the bar asked who was next , foolishly I spoke up indicating it was the couple then ourselves , the young girl who clearly has no customer skills took hum-bridge to my frustration and firstly suggested I went elsewhere , immediately followed by we weren’t going to be served tonight( I would like to point out that no swearing occurred during this interaction or any acts of intimidation ) , I responded and finally turned away with the reply to her lack of professionalism with “whatever” . After she’d finished serving the couple I asked to speak in a more appropriate area to which she just came round to the public side of the bar , I attempted to explain the frustration that this happens a lot and perhaps some training should be in order for bar staff . After again the young girl attempted to continue to escalate the situation by saying the man was on his own , eh , what’s that got to do with owt ??? I pointed out I would be asking for a copy of her body cam , to which she clearly has no clue on GDPR or public access requests( the company even give you the email address to enquire for it ) , telling me it was only for the police . At this point a chose to leave , I did ask for her name so I could pursue this matter further with a higher management but sadly she could only aggressively say it was duty manger , this I believe came from the fact she had referred to me as love or some such derogatory name earlier in the conversation to which I had said it’s either sir or Chris. What a shame Weatherspoons employ youngsters to do the jobs of adults , clearly the duty managers have very little customer relation skills training or how to de escalate a situation caused by their own employees . Let’s hope higher management give a bit more consideration to the customer than the staff they employ when they contact me

Very nice as ever I was there after a day's walking. It was a walk I have done before, and it is one of my favourites. Anyway, the pub, while I knew Wetherspoons pubs are cheap. I did not expect to pay less than £2 for a pint of Worthingtons. £1.96 In total, I have the receipt to prove it. Unfortunately, I only had time for 1 drink, but it was a very nice finish to a great day.

Stopped for a meal - curry was excellent as is usual in JDW pubs. Nice atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff

Couldn't get the app to work. Sat outside as it was a hot day but we had to walk past the smokers as they have put smoking area outside the main rear doors and non smoking around the corner don't think they have though about that.
