The Raj in Kettering

We just had a lovely family evening at The Raj. It was great from start to finish. The staff make you feel so welcome and the food was delicious. Nice, relaxing atmosphere. I personally enjoyed the best Lamb Madras I've ever tasted. We are already planning our next visit.

I bought my partner for a meal, we were amazed at how Goyas, Aimaan & all the staff once again took their standards even higher in delivering an amazing service from the second we walked into the restaurant right until we left! If your looking for a curry night for a date, family or any occasion look no further!!

After 5 years of going to the Raj never again. I have never been treated so poorly and food was not what I ordered. The host argued with me although he gave me something I did not order . £60.00

Couldn’t have been better! We came in flustered, hungry & in a real rush. The staff were incredible and got us a table straight away, with absolutely delicious food. Brilliant service all round. It’s no wonder it was full on a weekday. We’ll certainly be back for a more leisurely meal!

Both times we have gone to the Raj recently, the service has been attentive with attention to detail so it is more of a dining experience than just a meal out. The menu is vast and the sizzling platters give a great choice as you get to try different bits in one dish, the food came out fresh and delicious. The restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. You can see the effort and pride that goes into maintaining the reputation of the restaurant by ensuring it is well staffed and all trained to high standard. As they were so friendly and accommodating to our children. Would definitely recommend and be back again

Lovely vegetarian menu outstanding flavor and delicious, enough flavor without the need to add too much gee to make you feel bloated. Really great staff friendly and attentive to all the customers who were eating out. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants decent quality Asian cuisine.

My visit to England was worth the journey because I got to know the Raj Restaurant. What a beautiful place, tree in the center with all the fairy lights. The Waiters all in black suits, very smart. Service was impeccable, no sooner we were seated we were given the Menu Card, and what an amazing choice! The Waiters were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Food was to die for, I have never had a better Indien meal, another thing, the plates were not overloaded, portions just right, no left overs on our plates. By my next visit to England I would very much like to eat there again.

It’s sexy and you know it….Wow, wow, wow…. We love to be wined and dined, and travel all over to experience this sort of impeccable service, so you can imagine our delight to have found The Raj on our doorstep! As we entered the restaurant the stylish, beautiful decor is the first thing to catch your eye then to be greeted by the very smartly dressed staff who didn’t even flinch as we mentioned we had arrived 45 mins early :-) The food was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully, service throughout was top quality, nothing was too much trouble for any of the team. At the end of our meal we were greeted by a charming young man who offered to show us round the rest of this spotless, stunning restaurant but unfortunately we had not planned for such a fantastic experience and had other arrangements in place. We highly recommend visiting The Raj and will certainly be back very soon to experience more…. Once again I was visiting Kettering for the annual VJMC motorcycle club rally. I made a point of visiting the Raj with my friend as the experience last year had been so exceptionally good. Once again I was delighted. Staff were helpful and welcoming and the food was absolutely first class. Prices are very fair for such exceptional cooking. This is no ordinary restaurant. It is spotlessly clean, the staff are smartly dressed, the decor is fresh and modern and the welcome is genuine. I love it and will go again.

We were recommended The Raj and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the restaurant to anyone looking for great food. The atmosphere, staff and food were fabulous, possibly one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. Nothing was too much trouble, they offered advice on Vegan options and even cook off menu adding that extra special touch to cater for dietary requirements. Second visit to the Raj upon stumbling across this place during a search. Food is unbelievable and the attention to service is even better. Wouldn’t hesitate to come back again .

Arrived at 11pm to be greeted by the very friendly staff. We was shown to a table and was immediately given our menus and asked if we would like drinks. Poppadoms and chutneys were brought to our table. We ordered our food and once the owner realised we came from Essex he was very attentive and reminisced with us as he used to live near us. He was so friendly and the food we ordered had to be the best we've ever eaten. What with the beautiful setting of this restaurant together with the excellent food and attentive staff was a wonderful end to our evening. If you are ever in Kettering or anywhere nearby please visit this restaurant. I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. Thank you for a wonderful evening

Just back from the most amazing Mothers day meal at the Raj kettering . The food , service , staff , atmosphere and cleanliness were 110%. Dietary requirements were accomodated and remembered from a previous visit. Thank you for an amazing meal .

Went with 4 friends and were welcomed. Sat at our table and we’d ordered drinks within the first minute. We ordered popadoms and the main at the same time. Popadoms came and approx3-5 mins later our mains arrived. 2 of our party were still eating them. Food was ok meh. Reluctantly didn’t finish the popadoms, had around 20 mins to finish the mains and then the bill came. Whole meal took an hour. We were crazy rushed so much that I’m now left with indigestion. Spent £150 in just under an hour. I asked if they had a busy night and the waiter said yes. Feeling ripped off. BYW service charge on bill, I think around 14%. Certainly not worth it! Avoid and go Bengal up the road. Far better food and way better.

Party of five, three of the main coarse dishes were tasteless and lacking alot spice. The chicken used was the frozen pre cut rubbish. Extremely disappointed with the food

Brought my partner here for our Valentines Day dinner and have to say we were NOT disappointed! From the moment we entered the restaurant the attention to detail was amazing with red helium filled balloons hanging from the ceiling creating a lovely romantic atmosphere. The staff were incredible, highly professional and courteous and despite the restaurant being fairly busy, quickly ushered us to our seats. We were served our meal fairly promptly considering how busy they were and the meal was amazing! Thank you to everyone at the Raj for making our evening special.

As a group of tradesman working away from home for the week looking for a decent restaurant can sometimes be challenging. We ended up coming to the Raj twice in one week. The restaurant was busy Monday and Thursday and the food was amazing. The staff - particularly the family based hierarchy of Father and 2 sons proved to be the difference. The hospitality and professionalism was second to none and they backed up their confidence with real quality meals. Both nights we changed our choices and were far from disappointed. The meals and hosts were excellent. There isn’t another word to describe it. I would wholly recommend this restaurant to anyone living in Kettering and anyone visiting. One very happy customer and will visit this restaurant again if the opportunity arises..

Absolutely brilliant. From start to finish you have to visit this restaurant. The food was amazing and equally was the service.

Very nice food and very polite staff, though getting a bit borderline on being too attentive. Throughly enjoyed my chicken puri (without the puri) starter and chicken tikka main with mushroom pilau. Not sure if I missed it last time but a 12.5% service charge for a restaurant in Kettering is out of order. That took a point of Diet Coke to over a fiver!!

Every time I go to the Raj it exceeds my expectations. Wonderful meal tonight and my daughter from Brighton was very impressed. Immaculate service as usual - what a treat!

I absolutely love this wonderful restaurant I think all the food is absolutely delicious plus a service and tribute to the staff and restaurant. They can't do enough for you here. I have been coming for over 20 years that must say something.

We had a really lovely time at the Raj for our first visit. The food was delicious, there was loads to chose from including some really interesting dishes and the ones we had were great. We tried the honey chicken, muktaj and lamb pathia but can't remember the name of the one that was flambé but they were all gorgeous. All the accompanying dishes and sundries were cooked perfectly and we will definitely return.

The Raj is great for Christmas meals as there is something for everyone. They offer tasty Vegan options and the owner gives me confidence that they understand Veganism. I had a Vegan Channa Daal & Chappati for a starter and a Vegan Shobzi Karai with boiled rice and Khasta Roti. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The restaurant has a busy welcoming atmosphere. A great experience! L

Didn’t wait as long as last time to come back here. One of the most polite and professional set of staff I’ve ever experienced. Huge credit to them and made a real difference to the experience. The food was modern Indian food, well presented but the stars of the show were the staff.

Had a wonderful 1st experience at this beautiful restaurant. The staff are attentive and interact very well with the customers, they had a comedic way of dealing with the customers that added that extra touch most restaurants don't have. The food was great and the decor is unlike any other indian restaurant I have ever been in, it is modern and kitted out to a very high standard. I will definitely come again and recommend to others.

Can't comment on atmosphere so much as I haven't dined in. I have collected though and the restaurant is always busy with loads of waiters to cater to the diners. The food is always amazing! Good portion size, reasonably priced and delivery was much faster than expected. Highly recommend.

Nice upmarket style Indian restaurant with a very extensive menu. They also have a cocktail bar upstairs to use before/after your meal and also a covered terrace area for smokers. The staff are fantastic, very professional.

The Raj is located adjacent to sainsburys. The food is incredible and very reasonably priced, with second to none service. Nothing is too much or difficult for the service staff. Customer service is sensational, and the restaurant is so clean you could actually eat you food off of it. Highly recommended and very beautiful inside and out

What a stunning meal and a lovely evening. The food was beautiful but also the service was amazing. Thoughtful without being intrusive and all the staff were really attentive. Will definitely return.

After using the Raj on many occasions, both dine in and take away I was extremely disappointed with my last experience. I always approach the restaurant to resolve any issues but on this occasion my comments were not welcome! We ordered food for 2 people, both meals arrived tepid temperature and inedible without reheating. Prawns and chicken dishes. On receiving the meal and proceeding to plate up, the food was cold!! I called the restaurant, yes to complain but gave the benefit of doubt that the delivery process may have let them down! The gentleman on phone duly argued the fact and insisted it was not cold! I told him as a Chef with many years catering experience, and an understanding in the industry I do own a food temperature probe, which clearly showed temps of 45 & 35! With this again I assured them it was probably not the kitchen team but the delivery process, where he was in total denial and would not listen to reason! Take positive feedback, accept you got it wrong or I’ll take my business elsewhere! Ps. Look are tye 1700hr booking in the system for my details and I’ll happily take a call!
