Had a quick pint here and it was under a fiver. It's an old man pub, but pretty good!

The truth is that we went on a day when there was not much atmosphere. A typical London pub, nothing more, but the waiters are very capable. Since I don't like IPA, they gave me options but I didn't know them and so they gave me a taste of the beer before ordering any :)

Beautiful interiors, delicious food and great service. The Sunday roast is well priced but thought the roasties were a little soft. Great atmosphere but something about the acoustics makes it so loud inside !

Great choice of beers. Unfortunately our visit was ruined by being told aggressively that the bar would be closing at 11 on four separate occasions from the time we ordered (around 10:40) and 11:05 when the barman turned over all the stools on the adjacent table and stood over us until we'd finished our drinks. Won't be back in a hurry

Depends what you're looking for in a pub. I'd just visited Calthorpe Community Gdns 2 mins away. Sitting on a Chesterfield by the window, I got a sweet waft from the spray of lilies on the sill, like I was still in the gardens. And the Redemption Session Pale on cask had some floral, lavender twangs before delivering a hoppy hoof to the back of the palate. Maybe only 2 of the 3 cask pumps were on but a really tempting and varied selection on keg. Including a saison which you don't see every day of the week. The hanging sign outside is faded in the sun, meaning it is easily overlooked if walking down Gray's Inn Rd. Some might say the pub looks dated. Or in need of a refurb. I've been in pubs where original woodwork and tiles are over-painted in slate grey to bring them "up-to-date". Personally, I'd say this pub is pretty damn sick just the way it is. Truly feels more like a sanctuary than just a pub. And not just saying that coz I got my CAMRA discount!

The pub is about a 15 mins walk from Kings Cross train station. A cozy back street pub which has an nice airy feel about it (with a lovely skylight) and an upright (piano) which apparently someone had been playing prior to my arrival to meet friends. They have a nice selection of craft type beers. (I had a porter which was really good.) And if you are a member of CAMRA show your card for a discount) I believe they did food, but didn't see any. And because it's close to Kings Cross station several groups of people with suitcases called in, had a drink then left. Which is an excellent idea. So next time I'm going on a train journey from Kings Cross, I think I will have a relaxing beer there rather than wait in an over crowded station.

This remains one of my absolute favourite London pubs. Revisited on Saturday c17.00 to find it busy, lively, chatty...but got served quickly and found a superb rectangular dining table for the four of us to sit at. The Porter on draught was excellent. The malts remain an eclectic, reasonably priced range which is island orientated - great ! On leaving we walked past a happy , friendly clientele...uncannily like a Hogarth print. I feel very at home here!! Keep it up you Queens!

10/10 for beer if you like keg beers, which I do! There is three cask hand pumps here, and I know CAMRA rate this pub. Lady behind the bar was so friendly and chatty, which can be rare when you arrive at opening as they are setting up. This pub is a real gem and only a few mins walk from Kings Cross station. Just down greys inn road a bit. They do cold plates of cheese etc if you need a bite to eat as you enjoy their beers. Piano here and they do have some live music including Jazz if that’s also your thing. Felt like a local pub even though it’s so close to a station.

A total rip off! Admittedly, this is a tapas bar so to be expected but the quantities served barely amount to £15 on the £75 menu, The presentation was certainly not refined to reflect the price, As for the desserts, nothing was fresh to the point that someone in our party even spat out the cheese cake, Just looking at the menu I did expect it to be disappointing and it lived to its expectations.

We loved our lunch at Carrots and Daikon yesterday. I had the garlic tofu Banh mi and my husband had the tofu lunch box. The baguette forming my Banh mi was the perfect combination of crunch with a soft centre and the tofu was nicely garlicky. What really made our day were the ice creams! The chrysanthemum and mango ice cream was such a fantastic combination and the matcha and pistachio was delicious too. We then bought one of each of the other flavours and I must admit that the combinations are creative genius! Who would’ve thought that mint choc chip would go with coffee and raspberry and jasmine tea with its floral notes would hit the spot?! I thought that the coconut and lemongrass was super refreshing too. Thank you to the friendly folk at C & D.
