Very friendly and welcoming. On a street with three other boozers. Didn't sell ales, but recommended one down the road. Nice little convenience store in pub, which was useful as we travelled along Hadrian's wall. Room was fine, spot on. Nothing glam, but it was exactly what we wanted and needed.

Popped in for a quick lunchtime pint whilst on holiday, friendly lady behind the bar, bowl of water for the dog. I'd go in again if I was in the area.

A very cozy room with a small private bathroom in a very quiet location. However, ideal for getting to Hadrian's Wall. Checking in and out was completely contactless.

Small comfortable basic room with private toilet and shower, including an TV, kettle, small fridge and microwave. Breakfast consists of milk, orange juice and a yogurt in the fridge a croissant and a selection of cereals good value for what they charge. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Perfect for a short solo stay! I travelled up for a race along Hadrian's wall so needed somewhere local to stay the night before, and The Queen's Arms fit the bill perfectly. Check-in (and back out) was completely self-service - I didn't actually see any staff during my entire stay, but their numbers were provided had I needed any assistance. The room was light and airy, and had all the basic facilities plus handy extras like a fridge and microwave. The bed was comfy, and while I'd seen some negative reviews about noise from the pub downstairs, I always sleep in earplugs and once these were in I wasn't disturbed at all, despite being there on a busy Saturday night. For the price and convenient location (<10mins from Hexham in the car), this was the ideal basecamp for my visit to the area.

I was out and about looking for breakfast with my dad, headed for a much larger establishment that we were getting bored with. We saw the sign at the side of the road and decided to give it a try! The breakfast is excellent and although their supplier hadn't been with the bacon they supplemented the shortfall with an extra sausage, they are definitely putting in the effort and getting the best available ingredients. Dad had the soup and sandwich which looks excellent, dad couldn't finish his sandwich so handed me the second half which was truly delicious. Day 2: We had been talking to the owner and needed to drop some samples off, being hungry again I decided to have their scampi and chips, the chips were skin on and I think locally sourced, it seemed to be a mountain of food on the plate with peas for days and about 1/3 of the north seas daily catch of prawns! I will definitely be dropping in again, yes the food takes a little while but it is cooked freshly to order, if you want food fast, see the big M miles away, if you want good food as quickly as they can, this is worth visiting!
