I arrive at 13.35 for a lunch for two. Place Is semi full, I approach a lady to ask for availability. "Mmm we are quite full but let me check".. She comes back a couple of minutes later with a smile "I have room at 15.45" pause and another, different smile "which is about two hours from now". Now, there are only two options. The server had forgotten her medicine and was delirious. Or she was the boss, the joint is doing great and definitely did not need that extra customer, so why not have some fun? In any case, I have been doing the same job for 18 years in a much more crowded city, yet new and intriguing experience for me.

Had booked a table for 4 people. A lovely quirky pub restaurant we had pie of the day which was chicken and leek for 3 of us and fish n chips. It was tasty and all clear plates from all 4 people so we all enjoyed it. We had booked via open table app received e mail confirmation and text message day before and on the day as reminders as we had travelled from Newcastle for the day. Loved the booth with the swing door which we were sat at. Great service from staff all pleasant a nd friendly and popped back to check if further drinks required. Nice to see service with a smile as some hospitality venu es seem to have lost this. Thank you we had a lovely meal and will visit again on our next visit to Edinburgh.

No host on the door to check on booking (which I did in advance), my table was not ready, I’ve been overcharged for £20 for drinks which I never ordered and I supposed to have 20% discount on the whole bill as that place has a partnership with my workplace. But I’ve got just -£2.50. I’m very disappointed with this place. From food I’ve tried mac and cheese and hand cut chips which I can recommend.

Based on the reviews and photos, this was one of the first pubs we tried in Edinburgh. It did not disappoint. We loved the cozy atmosphere and book-lined walls. The bar staff were all very nice as well. We enjoyed the fun 80s British pop playing in the background. We recently saw it was picked as one of the “cozies” pubs in the city and thought that recognition was spot on.

Exceptional experience at The Queens Arms. This cosy, book-lined gastropub offers a charming and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening. The seasonal British menu is thoughtfully curated, and the selection of rare malt whiskies and expertly crafted cocktails enhances the experience. The food was well-prepared and flavourful, making it evident that quality ingredients were used. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a quintessential British dining experience in Edinburgh. Five stars well-deserved!

Went in to watch the Edinburgh game but considering it's the official away hub I wasn't that impressed to be honest. There seemed to be very few tables where everyone could get an uninhibited view. I understand it's restricted by the fact it's an old building but it seems like a strange choice as an official hub. The service was pretty slow except when it got to the point of paying the bill which was whipped out unrequested before the game had even finished. The fancy mac and cheese was OK but a bit bland and took absolutely ages to come. The chips were good. I like the Cold Town beers so I was happy with the beer selection. Overall, I think I'll probably check out other options for watching future away games.

A quick lunch at the Queens Arms using our 20% off discount through the new Crave loyalty club was a good deal. The Fish & Chips was good and the Bavette Steak ok but a bit chewy. This was followed by a Ginger and Date Sticky Toffee pudding. It’s a great little pub and was nice and quiet for our lunch. Only regret would be sitting in the bench seats in a booth, these booths are so tight for space and very uncomfortable. Will make sure we get a proper table the next time!

Just had drinks as we didn’t have a reservation, and those were stupid expensive. Husband ordered a Bloody Mary and the bartender asked if he liked it spicy. Bartender then said he didn’t have the proper ingredients for a spicy margarita. It’s a bloody restaurant, get your ass in the kitchen and fetch them. Even after the tomato juice with vodka and sprig of rosemary, we asked if the had Worcestershire. Nope. Also quite rude about us getting a reservation. Such a lovely atmosphere with jerk staff.

Came for Sunday lunch today on a recommendation and revisiting our Local from many years ago. Booked it weeks ago and I was really looking forward to it. Sadly and I genuinely am sad about this, the food was disappointing, we opted for the Sharing Roast and Dessert. The beef arrived and was luke warm, but I didn't complain at the time as i was hoping it would taste better. The Yorkshire pudding was amazing, but the beef was chewy & tough and the vegetables were luke warm too. The dessert sharer for 2 was a sample trio enough for 1, how on earth they can justify that it was for 2 is beyond me; very disappointing indeed. The drinks were nice and the chap that served us was nice too. I used the toilets, they were vile and smelled of sewage and the flushes didn't work. I spoke to the Manager about my dismay, mainly about the dessert and she said she would pass on the feedback but I got the impression she wasn't really interested. I mentioned that for an extra £10 that Kyloe is so much better and she said that Queens Arms are part of the same group! I was quite astounded by that as there is no comparison, Kyloe is 100 times better than the Queens Arms. So my lunch was poor today and I left feeling very deflated and I wouldn't recommend a return visit, not for food anyway. I expect better for Edinburgh City Centre and this was a poor show today!

It got very loud ( a fun loud) but if you are looking for a quiet place to relax, this may not be the place.

An extremely disappointing Sunday roast unfortunately. The meagre portion of meat, for a meal which cost £21, was completely pink. Although the waitress offered to ensure the meat was not rare, it still arrived completely pink, and inedible to me. The three very small roast potatoes were as hard as a brick, and there was one very small piece of carrot on the plate, and no mashed potatoes. So I paid £21 for a Yorkshire pudding, some peas, one small piece of carrot, and three rock-hard roast potatoes. So unfortunately, the food was very disappointing, overpriced, and I'm actually still hungry afterwards. There was no option to select zero stars for the food, so I had to give it one. Although I'm not a local and probably won't be back, I will recommend to anyone visiting Edinburgh that they avoid the Queen's Arms.

We've just arrived after a long trip, tired and grumpy. Somehow, we pulled up the strength to go and look for a place to dine, and we ended up making a reservation here. And, it turned out, it was one of the best things we could have done. The food was spectacular (the Queens pie was out of this world), the drinks were nice, and the whole experience (the ambience, the staff, the other customers) revived us in the best of the moods. The rest of the visit was uplifting and delightful, and I'm sure that partly was because, in our minds, Edinburgh had been worthwhile already in the first night.

Stopped in for a Sunday Roast. The service was good and I like the ambience of the pub. Overall the food was ok but for the price I think it left some things to be desired. The waiter recommended medium rare for the roast but I think it came slightly on the rarer side and it was tough and difficult to cut. The roast potatoes were soft in the middle but crusty (not crispy- crusty) on the outside to the point it was hard to cut through- like they’d sat in for too long. The Yorkshire puddings were extremely thin and thus burned to a crisp easily. They had good volume but that was mostly air and not enough pudding to them. As a North American I am used to overly sweet chocolates and desserts. The cheesecake in a cup was so sweet it could send a person into diabetic shock immediately.
