Nice local pub. Decent beers and surroundings. But you get the feeling when you're a stranger the darts stop mid air when you walk in. . But be prepared to wait, while whoevers behind the bar will chat to the locals first even though you've been acknowleged. .A local pub for local people. Still, worth a visit

The Queens Arms is a very traditional pub conveniently close to Basingstoke railway station, and to the town. If you like a good pint of real ale in an old fashioned, local pub atmosphere, this is the place for you. Great beer - usually at least 2 or 3 hand-pulled ales - and good, pleasant service. No frills but worth a visit. Long may these sort of pubs remain.

It’s a nice little cozy place right round the corner of Basingstoke Railway Station. It’s a small little pub with cozy seating arrangement and a friendly bar tender. I visited this place on an afternoon and I was little bit disappointed with lack of food menu. They had this Ale of the Day and it has a great taste. They are planning a new chef for the Christmas Week and nice gourmet menu and I guess I will again visit this place. A very good place to hang out with office colleagues or meeting someone to discuss business. Socialising aspect is not so great as there was no seating at the bartenders counter. Overall, decent place for a some nice discussions. Suits particular occasions of interest.

Stopped by as on way back to London, waiting for the Waterloo train. had a very warm welcome from a lovely lady serving the customers. As a CAMRA member i was going to sample some Ales, i thought ill leave that until im home up smoke, so opted for a Guinness, absolutely Top Notch it was too, served lovingly with a careful hand the barlady crafted a shamrock on the Vicars Collar. So good, stuff the next train back home, stayed for another couple, Lovely and relaxing, proper pub, which gets my vote everytime, a breath of fresh air from the usual boring white washed Gastro Pub. Would defo return, next time i visit Amazingstoke, no hesitation here, im going in. Thanks to the lovely polite barlady.

Cosy little pub that has clearly been built around and tucked away. I popped in here to collect my Brother who had arrived at Basingstoke station. I had a quick drink with him, very quiet at 2pm, friendly barmaid and a local gent who I chatted too. It was lovely looking at the old photos on the wall. The bar area was clean, but our table was sticky. You need to hold your nose going through the toilet doors as the stench of urine hits you. Certainly put me off of a late lunch.

Cosy town centre pub offering (for the most part) tasty "home-cooked" food, but the kitchen is small and you may have to wait a while for your food, especially if you go in a large group. I went on Friday lunchtime and it was quiet. The cottage pie from the specials board was tasty, albeit slightly small and heavy on the mash compared to the filling. Reasonable value at £5.95, although I'd be happier paying a pound more for a larger portion. For a smaller party I'd rate the pub 4 stars, but we went in a group of 10 and some people had to wait quite some time for their food.

The only reason my friend & I entered this place was because I met him at the station & it was a convenient place to use the toilet & we couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere. We ended up staying for a drink & something to eat. The pub is very basic but it didn't really matter. The roast meals we had were acceptable apart from slightly overcooked carrots & a very unappealing dish of leeks in cheese sauce. He had sticky toffee pudding which was scrummy! In my opinion it was a place that was just above average but I would be happy to go back again if I had to.

If you're looking for what a British pub is all about, it's hard to fault this place. A small, independent establishment with a regularly changing selection of well-kept real ales, friendly and engaging service, excellent pub food, and chummy local customers. It's not completely disabled-friendly, although it's all on one level. The Queens Arms is, quite rightly, listed in the Good Beer Guide. I've been a few times in the last few years and there's always a warm welcome and a big feeling of satisfaction when, sadly and usually too soon, it's time to go home. It's a very easy trip from London by train too.

Order placed one kebab with garlic sauce and spicy wings. What a mistake the kebab was greasy and it was served with tartare sauce not garlic mayo what the hell were they thinking. The wings were cooked beyond edible was like chewing deep fried cardboard. They were either last nights food reheated or just straight up over cooked. The only part of the meal that was any good was the canned drinks and that is cause the chef could never cock up a canned drink. It’s a shame cause only a year ago the food was divine. Recommend they sack the chef cause he or they clearly have no idea how to cook. Both meals chucked away. Idea of how bad this was our dog eats anything even he would not eat this food.

Lovely place to bring friends , a partner or your family. We had a lovely afternoon tea and noticed celebrations (baby shower and bday) happening and it didn't interrupt either party. Ample space and lovely service. Already planned to go back for a Sunday roast or the boa buns ; I didn't have one , but what I saw looked delicious.

Amazing service, the staff was super sweet and caring. The food was ok, but not as good as expected... The gnocchi were missing personality, the taste was nice but not as tasty as could have been. All of the other plates were fine but the portions were way too small. I did not expect to get a huge portion but 2 slices of duck breast... I think 3 stars reflect the actual value. The dessert was not as nice as you expected it to be, we were expecting a nice gelato but it was mediocre... We paid quite a lot for what we had, thus I would not recommend this place.
