Went for Christmas Dinner for our akimbo group. We were checked in by a member of staff ensuring sanitiser was used and distancing was observed. Our group was split between two tables and enjoyed an excellent meal, served piping hot meals in their marquee. The sides were raised by heaters Leroy us cozy. Safe as houses. Thank you

Best pub in Maldon, staff are always super friendly and nothing is to much trouble. The food is perfection, and always leave room for pudding, worth a treat. James and the team have followed every covid step along the way and always make you feel safe during this time. A little gem of a pub

Our taxi dropped us at the front of the Queen Victoria and were immediately aware that this pub was prepaing for Halloween. Skeltons, witches, bodies, webs, spiders, a radio producing a spooky sound... and the best old hag (with crystal ball) that I have ever seen. All of the staff were in costumes. Our waitress was covered in spider 'tattoos' whilst James had obviously been inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead! A 'baby' was working behind the barDelicious food: my wife loved her sticky toffee pud and my soup was yummy. The cheeseburger was perfect and the Catalan cod was full of flavour. After our meal, I enjoyed an absinthe served with the correct spoon for the sugar. Impressive. Thank you, James.

Mrs Salisburys Famous Tea Rooms

30/10/2020: We had tried the Vintage Rose Tearoom a few days earliier and had certainly enjoyed the experience. It was full today but they recommended Mrs Salisbury's. We were impressed by the COVID precautions. The staff are obviously working flat out.Sadly, we were ushered upstairs and a little fotgotten about. Our food was delivered but before we could ask for condiments, the older waitress had scuttled back downstairs. Rather than wait for her to return, we ate and left.
13/09/2020: I really like tea rooms and my husband came across the great reviews for Mrs Salisbury so thought we'd visit on my birthday for lunch. I've not been to Maldon in years and found there wasn't much of interest on the High Street, so we ended up visiting earlier than planned and had a 2nd breakfast instead. The bacon and sausage sandwiches were very nice.We opted to sit inside but the part we were in for me lacked the character of a tea room (it was in the the building you queue outside). It was just a small room with 4 tables. What I did notice when you walk down the courtyard there is another room across the way which looked packed with character. Being our first visit I wasn't aware of the layout otherwise definately would have asked for a table in there. You also have the option of sitting outside in the garden or courtyard.

The Loft

30/10/2020: Have wanted to try this place for a while now. Finally made it to Tollesbury Wick today and after a lovely autmnal walk this was the perfect place to end up. We got our sugar fix with cakes and hot chocolates. Really delicious! I highly recommend the Raspberry and Plum Cake.We shall definitely be back in the summer!
