The Quayside At Glasson Dock in Lancaster

Had cod and chips last night and full breakfast this morning. Food was excellent with fantastic service. Dog friendly and seemed always busy. I will definitely visit again.

On a lovely sunny day we sat outside for our lunchtime snack of warm bacon, Brie and cranberry sandwich and poached eggs on toast. Lovely presented meals and friendly staff. We will come again and recommend it to others

Brilliant staff, it was very busy at the Quayside Cafe at Glasson Dock,but the food was worth the wait, It was a very warm afternoon for March,

Can't recommend highly enough, the service from Nina & Maisie was prompt efficient and very friendly, the backroom staff cooked a excellent breakfast even having sourdough toast available, we went there as a large group on Sunday and we will definitely be back, ps very reasonable

Small, busy, dog-friendly cafe with outside eating area. Delicious food and friendly staff. I got a full English breakfast and it was pretty much perfect, the missus got a ham cheese and pineapple melt and loved the chutney so much we had to buy a jar to take away. The prices were very reasonable too. Glasson Dock itself is also a very pleasant place to have a short stroll around.

I went to this café today with my partner on our way to Sunderland Point. OMG, you couldn't ask for a more fabulous place to eat. We had the smaller breakfast which comes with unlimited toast and tea/coffee. It was one of the tastiest cooked breakfasts we've ever had, and the service and ambience were fabulous. I would wholeheartedly recommend this café to anyone. All the food we saw being served with a smile by the staff, looked equally as excellent as ours was. Thank you for making two customers very happy today as our food really touched the spot.

Amazing. I had fish and chips and they were amazing. I could tell they were homemade. The staff were nice but even though they were busy we got seen too quickly.

I always check places out online, mainly to see if they are dog friendly, which this cafe is, and it also had very good reviews. We had a trip out today and went for lunch. We were not disappointed. The dog was happy, she got a sausage. The menu had plenty on. I had the best omelette I've ever had, my husband had a toasted sandwich, the chips were what I call 'proper chips'. The staff were friendly and there seemed to be a few locals in, which states the obvious. The only thing I was sad about, was forgetting to back in later after our walk to get a take away cake, as they did look absolutely amazing 😁

March 2025. Last time we came here it was a different owner who had got it all wrong. The new owners have got it all right. We both had large breakfasts. Im a vegetarian and I could still have a big breakfast as they have veggie bacon, sausage and black pudding. It was fantastic. And to top it off you get unlimited tea or coffee and toast. So when I’d finished my breakfast the lovely waitress brought me more toast with jam and butter! It’s clean, modern but traditional with no boom boom music and there’s a good assortment of cakes. There’s seating for around 20 inside and lots of outside seating looking out on the harbour. Highly recommend

Fast becoming our favourite eatery on Morecambe Bay, either to eat in or “take away”. The ambience, friendliness and superb food are a joy to experience and if you are looking for value for money, you won’t find better. Truly a Gem on the Bay.

Can’t fault anything about lunch today. We had a Jacket Potato each from the Specials board, Caramelised Onion, Peas, Sausage and cheese, topped with Crispy Onions and Gravy , the picture doesn’t do it justice, was very good and the kids had Jacket Potato with Cheese and Beans and Chicken Strips, again both very good. Staff were great and very clean and well run and can see why it gets busy.

Absolutely Gorgeous Food and service, the lady owner is so lovely and helpful. We had eggs royale and the smoked salmon special with chilli jam & hummus. We sat in the front in the sun which was an unexpected treat eating lovely home made food. We will definitely come back and to bring our children too! Great area and worth the nip off the main road, head to Glasson Dock. You won't be disappointed. Thank you! We didn't get pics of the food because it was too delicious we dived right in 😊

Busy place, popular with tourists, walkers and cyclists. Cozy and warm. Great service with very helpful and friendly staff. Extensive menu good for breakfast, lunch, a snack and a meal. Definitely somewhere to return to.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon, had the home made beef and onion pie, gravy and chips. It was tasty. The kids had sausages which were also nice. Atmosphere and service was top notch. We managed to walk in as a group of 7, but it was busy, I think we got lucky it does seem you can reserve tables.

What an amazing start to the New Year a visit Quayside café Absolutely delicious fishfinger sandwich served as usual by friendly staff great value for money that’s why it’s one of our favourite places. Happy New Year to the team keep up the good work.

Excellent venue with superb staff. Food OK, but value for money is questionable. Ordered the steak hot sandwich - poor portion size for the money paid. Meal was style over substance.

Good food, service excellent, owner very chatty & friendly. Very relaxed. Great place to meet friends or even go on your own. Situated near Glasson dock marina. So a nice view of the boats. 4 of us dined and selected different dishes, all food was enjoyable. Only one tiny criticism, plates needed warming to help food stay hotter for slow eater like myself, but don't let this put you off. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little place even in the middle of a storm. Food was gorgeous, we got the small breakfast and the potato cake stack. Can't recommend enough. Great quality ingredients too. The chilli jam was a perfect little touch. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Beautiful little cafe, fast and friendly service, the staff make you feel at home and always greet with a smile when you walk in. Fantastic food, always top tier, can really tell all the girls there are a hard working group. Eggs Benedict with extra sauce, bacon butty with black pudding added on the side as requested and of course a mars bar brownie for the road. 5/5 stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The veggie potato cake stack with extra mushrooms hit the spot today. This is always a friendly cafe and they offer a fantastic veggie selection of food. This is one that is worth going out of your way for!

The Quayside never fails to delight, whether I go for cake and a drink or for a meal. Breakfast and lunch are both excellent. Lunchtime specials are always great.

I called in for lunch today. My main course was today’s special - Turkey Caesar. Very tasty and satisfying. Highly recommended if it’s on the menu when you visit. That said, the Apple Crumble dessert was a tour de force. I was stuck for choice, but the crumble did not disappoint! The Quayside is well worth visiting. It’s unpretentious, the team are very friendly and the food is a delight. Just go!

Steak Canadian and Onions to die for, brought to the car by a beautiful young lady, lovely friendly staff and all at a very very reasonable price ( the food not the staff ).First time here but very definitely will be back. A hidden gem!!!

Called in today for a brew and these guys are fantastic.good coffee, nice cake but best of all they made a real fuss over our dog Enzo.brought him a sausage and so much love. Thank you and we will be back

We call in the quayside cafe on a regular basis..the food is excellent. We have a full breakfast every time we go it is delicious. The service is good and it is dog friendly..also good value for money

First time visitor for breakfast. Brilliant and friendly team were quick to welcome and seat us. Breakfast order taken quickly and when served the food was hot and delicious. Have to say the breakfast Omelette was as good as I've tasted anywhere. Definitely 5 star Will go again

6 friends so 6 different meals from a varied, competitively priced menu. All our meals were tasty, with quality ingredients and generous portions. Reserved table prior to our visit and received super friendly service from the cafe staff on the call and during our visit. Pleased I booked as got very busy later which is always a good sign of a great cafe. Highly recommend Quayside and will definately visit again!

Dropped in on a wet afternoon and was met by very warm welcome by friendly staff offering a wide range of food all of which looked extremely good. Can highly recommend the lemon meringue pie

Our first time here, plenty of choice on the menu. Both indoor and outdoor seating too. Friendly staff.

Lovely place to visit especially in the summer months,lots of wildlife along the estuary and canal and plenty of forms to sit on to take in the lovely views that glasson has to offer.

Called in on our way up to Scotland for a breakfast. It's a little "off the beaten track" but what an amazing place. Very clean and tidy restaurant, super friendly staff, the cooked breakfast was excellent (I had turn down the offer of extra toast as I am unable to eat as much as I used to) It's a dog friendly place. Beautiful location - I should like to take an hour to explore the dock next time I visit. I will definitely be calling in here again soon!

Dog walking and finally manage to get a seat outside at Quayside. Weekends are always packed….and now I know why!! Excellent value and quality products…no Aldi sausage here!! Great service from attentive staff!! Would recommend without a doubt!!!

We stopped at The Quayside cafe for breakfast and were not disappointed! We had The Big Quayside breakfast, eggs royale the muesli. All lovely and really tasty. Great sausages too which can often be a disappointment! Good coffee and tea too. The team working in the cafe were absolutely brilliant! Very friendly and great fun too. Thoroughly recommend if you are visiting Glasson Dock.

Just stopped for pyot of tea , sit and watch the world go by. If the sunshine is out ( which it was) it's a beautiful and tranquil place.

Had coffee and cake here. Didn't have any savoury food but the plates coming out to other tables looked great (turkey sandwiches with crisps, salad and homemade chutney). Great selection of homemade cakes, frothy cappuccinos and a view over the lock towards the Lake District across the Lune. Beautiful.

Our niece and nephew live in this lovely little village. This cafe/restaurant caters for all with a varied menu and specials. All homemade and absolutely gorgeous. The owners and staff need a very special mention because they have got to be the friendliest group of people we have ever met. Hope to be moving into the area soon so cannot wait to try all your dishes.

Extremely busy, lovely lively atmosphere, staff very nice. There was a very long wait for food but as mentioned before, very, very busy. So if you are in a rush probably not the place for you.

We have been visiting this cafe for many many years, indeed this is the third ownership we have experienced and it is by far the best. Our second visit in four weeks and yet again we were very impressed with the quality of the food, the experience of sitting outside in the sunshine and enjoying absolutely fabulous prawn sandwiches, the best I have had in a long while. This is well worth our 40 mile round trip from Blackpool and we shall most certainly return.

This is our new venue for me and my biker mates. Great spot to either sit outside in the sun . Or sit in super clean , fantastic homemade food , coffe , cakes everything you would want. The girls who run make us welcome have a laugh . If you want great food and service visit this little gem 👍👍👍

What a great way to spend a Saturday morning at our favourite caféQuayside at Glasson Dock. Service excellent excellent food great coffee great crack and as veggies, you cannot get a better breakfast anywhere and we’ve tried a lot of places come along and see what we enjoy every weekend xx

I had a bad experience here on Sunday 7th April 2024. On arrival at 10am, I found The Cafe was closed for a TV Crew filming event. A TV crew member advised me "I'm sorry but the Cafe is closed for filming. This is the sign, I've had to take it down so we can film !" No mention of any closure the day before (nor any signs warning potential Cafe Customers in advance.) Today, Friday 12th April, I was visiting the new Glasson Village Shop next door, only to be confronted by the Leaseholder/Manager for The Cafe, walking towards me. She was intimidating me and shouting directly at me that "I was banned for leaving them a terrible Google review and she knew it was me that had left the review." She then walked away, briskly, like a child, back to the Cafe, shouting at the top of her voice "I am not listening to YOU" when I quietly tried to discuss my disappointment with her. Food is usually excellent here, plus some great friendly local staff work too. The Customer definitely isn't her priority (as I found out today.)

Went for breakfast as we always do on a Sunday, a little bit later than usual because of some filming taking place in the cafe - all very exciting! Delicious food, lovely friendly service, great to chat and catch up with the locals and to top it all sausage for our dog. What’s not to like?! Thanks ladies, keep up the good work.

I've had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful cafe twice in the last couple of days and everything about it is amazing. There were 6 of us and we all had different meals with no complaints. The place was packed on both days which is in no doubt down to the fantastic staff and wonderful food.

Amazing brunch today went a little later due to filming for a tv show taking place - so they had said they were not open to 11:00 - had Quay Breakfast as always perfect - would recommend a visit

Wonderfully warm welcome, great service, friendly staff, excellent value for money, and a range of gf options second to none! Highly unusually, the gf cake options extended to more than just the boring customary 'chocolate brownie'! Imaginative and delicious alternatives abounded, which afforded a very pleasant surprise and experience. On a freezing cold, rainy, and dismal day, the Quayside Café came to our rescue and made our day. Very highly recommended indeed. Glasson Dock is grand for a stroll and a day by the sea and marina and canal, but alow yourself time for a visit here!

I asked if they did toasties as they were not on the menu, they said they could do so I ordered a ham, cheese, mushroom and onion, my favourite. I expected a standard toasted sandwich but received an open style on a sub with a side salad, some crisps and salsa! It was delicious, I was impressed as they thought outside the box and created an impressive dish! I hope they add it to the menu, they would sell like hot cakes! (Toasties!) Well done all, can’t wait for the next time! 👍😁👌

What a fantastic place. This cafe is buzzing, led by a dynamic lady (owner?), who combines a great welcome with ruthless efficiency. We creaked in after cycling over the Forest of Bowland, rather worn. We were warmed, fed and felt we could stay as long as we wanted. A couple next to us only wanted drinks which wasn't a problem and ended up with cake, which we felt compelled to copy. The jacket potato and hot beef sandwich were delicious, though gravy within a "barm" was a little peculiar to non-northern tastes!

Everything you want from a local cafe: good food, lovely staff and an excellent atmosphere. They gave our dog some leftover sausages, my little daughter got given a small bowl of fruit and the staff was very attentive. Definitely recommend.

Lovely cafe set by the lock at Glasson Dock. Very friendly and helpful staff, not an overly large venue, but was able to accommodate wheelchair access. Tables outside, so would be lovely in warm weather. Good selection of menu choices and at reasonable prices. Toilet facilities available.

Last here in 2021 time flies by lovely lady's running this only had soup though will be back! Absolutely fine and nice tea to wash down all the meals coming out looked appetising and fresh

We hadn’t eaten in here since 2018 and on subsequent visits to Glasson have dined “al fresco” from the van as we didn’t think the vibe in here was particularly nice last time. What an improvement. Professional and enthusiastic service. It was chilly outside and the Quayside gave us a warm welcome in more ways than one! There were several breakfast options available and me being rather partial to the biggest thing available - chose that! Everything on the plate was lovely but the bacon and sausages in particular were top quality. Glasson was quite quiet so we had a leisurely time in here which gave us the opportunity to benefit from the hot drink refills. Clean - with decent loos. Will definitely head in here (if we can) during our next visit to Glasson Dock! Bravo.

Very busy cafe good menu selection great cakes etc friendly and helpful staff they are also dog friendly will use again when next in the area.

Great fish and chips and probably the best value gin and tonic in the UK! Cosy cafe with attentive service. The desserts looked fabulous but so was the calorie count! Purchased local bakery produce.

Was thoroughly impressed with this little cafe. Saw the cakes advertised on Facebook and decided to pay a visit to Glasson Dock with my other half, with a view to having a brew and cake whilst there. It’s rather deceiving from outside, as it doesn’t look that modern, but once inside, it’s a lovely contemporary interior. It was quite busy when we went in, but the friendly and attentive staff quickly sorted out a table for the two of us. We were served promptly and decided to have a BLT each and a pot of tea for 2. When our food arrived, we were pleasantly surprised: a lovely warm, toasted sandwich with thick sliced bacon, accompanying side salad, crisps and relish all served on a platter. It really was delicious and worth every penny. My other half was suitably impressed too! It really is a little gem and we said we would definitely return again, perhaps in the summer (as there are outside tables too). I would definitely recommend this little cafe, I think it could be my new favourite place to eat!
