Best place to get a sandwich in town. Edit: went back today after being out of the country for a long time. The sandwiches are still top notch and the sandwiches are still filled to the brim with quality produce. As stated previously this is definitely the best place to grab a sandwich in town

Truth be told I went to this place with mid expectations however, I was well and truly impressed. All the ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The pricing whilst slightly high for a sandwich is comparable to a subway but the product is far superior. I will definitely be back!

Visited again on a trip to Lancaster and Moorish always deliver when it comes to quality lunch! Forget subway, this is the place, fresh bread, homemade sauces and fantastic flavours; I cannot recommend enough Only a small store so best to grab and go but there's a few stalls to eat in too. Love local business!

I just had the Tony Soprano vs The El Cid. No exaggeration, It was the greatest sandwich in the world.

The sandwiches are fantastic, some of the best in lancaster. Just don't bother ordering through the lancaster eats app, they never accept your order! I never understand takeaways that advertise on these apps but when you come to order, don't accept 👎. Three times we've tried! And it never accepts the order, so there's something wrong somewhere? Like I said nothing wrong with the sandwiches!👍

Worth a visit here. Ciabbata full of very fresh ingredients. Avocado sliced to order. Much much better than sandwiches from competitors. Will definitely return here.

Honestly one of the best sandwich shops I have ever been to. The Dude (avocado with hummus) sandwich is absolutely excellent.

Great sandwiches - fresh ingredients and tasty. I think charging £2.50 for cheese is steep though considering its a cheap ingredient.

I'm lucky to work near this sandwich shop, but I would recommend the quick trip to this side of Lancaster. Its on a nice street which is seeing a lot of improvement. Generous fillings with fresh food - I like the wraps - and there are hot and cold drinks. Oh and a small seating area.

I tried a pastrami- New York deli style sandwich. The pastrami was home cured, and by god the attention to detail in the product really showed. Easily the best pastrami I've tasted. The whole thing was properly delicious. This is an independent eatery that takes total pride in it's food. There's a Subway about 50 metres away, but in terms of quality and provenance they're many miles apart.

Excellent service and absolutely amazing quality food! very efficient with my telephone order ready in minutes of ordering which was fab as only half an hour lunch break and most of all, the most amazing baguette i have had in a long time. THE best place to go for some lunch without a doubt!!

i came in at 9:00 on Monday 14th sept, the worker was very rude when I asked her a simple question ‘if breakfast was still on?’ she rudely said yes so I looked at the menu to decide what I wanted then she shouted down at me yes again for no reason. Then I needed another sandwich which she didn’t offer so I asked her and she slammed the toaster door and seemed very threatening to me asking what I wanted. i continued to be polite after she was so rude, but when she handed me my subway i did not say thankyou becsuse of the way she spoke to me, she then aggressively shouted “you’re welcome” at me

The guy can make a decent sandwich, but could be more hardworking. He opens and closes when he feels like it and works at a fairly slow place. I would like to see the guy take his restaurant more seriously and try to grow and expand and try to become a bigger success, instead of taking time off.

Oh this place is good alright, Themed on movies and characters, it has lots of choice and good combination suggestions. Anything is available in Foot longs, baguettes, wraps and salads. Lots of good veggie options but for me the in-house cured beef is a must, in a sandwich called the Joker.

Ordered a very cheesy Tom Jones baguette, it was extremely tasty! I'll definitely be back the next time I'm down in Lancaster!

I think this may have been the greatest sandwich in the world. Well worth "doing a Joey" and saving the person holding the sandwich, rather than your best friend.

Finger-licking good! The sandwiches are amazing and freshly prepared before your own eyes. The sauces are definitely homemade, and the habanero sauce has a nice little kick! Never had such a fabulous sandwich before!

Been going to Moorish now for years, not only do I get impeccable service, but nobody and I mean nobody can make the tuna sandwich quite like him 👌 Just recently tried the deli salt beef instead of tuna and WOW. People may think it's a little expensive, but when I get fantastic service, consistency and treat like a friend rather than a customer, I don't mind paying that little bit extra. Especially when I know I'm helping a local business to carry on. Here's to many more years!!

I like to think of myself fairly well travelled and quite a lover of food. So imagine my shock when I discovered the best sandwich in the world was actually made right on my own doorstep? If you like great sandwiches, this place is a must. Fresh delicious ingredients and I also like the different sauces you can have on your sandwich. Not just your standard mayo etc. Anyway, I've gone on enough. Just try a sub or wrap from there if you're ever in the vicinity (also the veg/vegan range is very good. Personally, I'd recommend the 'Harvey Dent').

My company had lunch from this wonderful place and collected it between Christmas and new year. We all really enjoyed our food. I had the wrap with chicken , chorizo and mozzarella and it was wonderful as always. It's a shame the pulled pork sandwiches are no longer available but there are many more to try and fall in love with

Amazing My friend has been telling me to go for ages, but u thought it was just a normal sandwich shop. Wrong - it's the ultimate American style deli sandwich shop. I'm only half way through my sub roll but felt I needed to leave a review. I ordered the Joker. New York style salt beef and mozzarella. I feel like I'm in New York!

Don't think of this as a sandwich ...this is a meal which just happens to be served between bread. Lovely fresh ingredients put together in really clever combinations and prepared with real pride. Get away from the high street chains and visit this hidden gem!

A fantastic and imaginative menu particularly if you're a vegetarian and normally only get the choice of cheese or egg. The portions are generous and the prices are excellent, everything is made fresh to order so you will have to wait but it's worth it.

Moorish is the most creative and best quality sandwich shop in town and for many miles around Lancaster too. A real hidden gem but one i hope people keep finding and can work their way through the amazing and varied, well written menu. Every time i read the menu it makes me smile and every time i open and tuck into my sandwich it makes me grin from one saucy ear to the other. Amazing choice, awesome selection of salad toppings and sauces. Keep it up guys and good on you for being constantly excellent.

I work part-time around the corner from Moorish so it's always a treat to be able to get my lunch from here. I love the layout of the menu which helps you plan according to your budget and also the veggie options are clearly marked. I like seeing the food being prepared so I know everything is fresh. I have a couple of favourites i.e. Tom Jones, Dean Moriarty. My colleague likes to get a salad box. There is something for everyone here.

This place is perfection, you will want to tell everyone about it , amazing food, amazing selection, amazing decor , amazing staff , low prices.

I think its unfair to compare this place to Subway, as everything about it is much higher quality. Great fillings, great home baked bread and friendly service. You get what you pay for, and this place is worth the money.

Great lunch wraps and sandwiches. The movie theme seems a little irrelevant and the prices are high but a great lunch treat.

I ordered a halloumi and hummus, expecting .... well, halloumi and hummus. What I got was halloumi cooked up with spices, very decent hummus, the usual salad stuff of lettuce, tomatoes, and onion but also a choice of roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, jalapenos, olives and more. All in a large brown baguette (my choice from several options). Cost = £5.00. It was AWESOME!!!!!

Hands down one of the best independent sandwich shops I've ever been too! The range of different fillings and really cool vibe in there. Up there with the independent eateries on Gloucester Road, Bristol!

I visited here on my son's recommendation, and was not disappointed. I tried the sub roll with "the kitchen sink". This includes beef,ham and chicken with lovely fresh salad and I had the Mexican chipotle sauce on. The bread is freshly made on the premises and ham is home cured and it must be said the proof is in the taste- absolutely delicious.

I've been going to Moorish for years now and have never been disappointed. I've stopped going to places like subway and other sandwich shops because they simply can't compete! Sure, it's not as cheap as subway but for the extra you pay (which isn't much) you actually get more on your sandwich, and what you do get is of noticeably higher quality. You can taste that the ingredients are all fresh, and can even see that the owner bakes his own bread. The only downside is that although there are seats in there it's quite small, but the owner is so nice and it's such a warm atmosphere that it's never been a problem. Can't recommend highly enough if you're looking for a new place to grab lunch.

Moorish is without a doubt the best lunch time offering in Lancaster, well worth the tiny bit extra you pay for proper ingredients - not reformed rubbish like other places. The Tony Soprano is next level! I literally wish I could eat here every day.

I've never eaten a better sandwich, more expensive than subway but it is well worth it. The Jim Moriarty is brilliant. There are optional extras and food doesn't take long,

I used to be an avid Moorish fan, I was a regular visitor and one of its biggest advocates. Many of my friends and colleagues said it was too expensive for a sandwich (£5 for a wrap) but I argued Moorish's case, saying it was good value for money because of the quality of meat and salad. However, the prices have since spiked yet again and I simply cannot justify £6 for a wrap (plus £1.50 per extra topping!) - this is Lancaster after all, not London and I can no longer argue against my peers! Alas, I have had to resort back to Subway. I hope one day the prices can come back down to a reasonable amount and I will make my return to Moorish; until then, adieu.

I used to work in town and have had a few different wraps from the menu. They are amazing! There is so much choice and everything is made fresh to order!! I have never had a bad sandwich as they have all been crammed with meat and salad, you definatly get your moneys worth! If you have not had one of the delcious wraps from here you are missing out! The best thing for me about Morish is the man that owns the deli, he reminds me of Jamie Oliver you can just tell he really cares and loves what he does that why i think his food tastes so good! Thanks Morish highly recommended!

The sandwiches are incredible, but over an hour and a half to make 4 sandwiches is not acceptable! especially when you ring them in first thing...this guy needs a bigger premises and some help in the kitchen. If the service was prompt then it wouldve been five star all the way. also it wouldnt hurt him to smile a little more and engage with his customers, maybe if he had a staff member this would help him be more relaxed

I've been here several times and tried a bunch of the different sandwiches, each one is better than the last. Great value for the massive portions that you get and the bacon has to be tasted to be believed. Fantastic stuff.

I was a massive Subway fan for years, but now their food is bland and tasteless in comparison. Inch by inch you will pay a little more than you will in Subway, but pound for pound this guy packs his sandwiches out! Not only that, the food is freshly cut and prepared in front of you; the meat is sliced freshly off the cuts - none of the pre-packed plasticness of Subway. Service can be a little slow if busy, but if you have the time it is worth the wait.

Terrible experience. The customer service is quite rude, and said they can't be wrong because nobody else complained.
