So I haven’t actually gotten my food yet but, I ordered through Uber eats and because the restaurant delivers it themselves it does let you track the order as you normally would so I decided to call, and even though it was only maybe a 5 minute call the person I spoke too (I didn’t catch the name) was absolutely amazing with me, I often go through brain fart moments where I just lose complete track of thought, and I am also autistic so I really struggle talking to people anyway as I get really nervous, but they gave me my chance to think about what I was saying and was patient with me, and helped me with what I needed, and I appreciate it so much, like I isad I haven’t got the food yet as this was only 5 minutes ago but I can already tell it’s going to be great, to whoever you are thankyou so much, I know you probably don’t think you did a lot but from my past experiences having to call restaurants being so horrible with them talking back to me like I’m stupid you honestly made it easier, if anyone is reading this wondering if you should order from here my opinion is yes simply from the great customer service! Again thankyou!

On the way into Carsington Water. Friendly lady at desk. We sat down on one of the tables inside. Simple but adequate menu. All the cakes obviously made in house. The menu was definitely value for money, and the food served was delicious!! We would have ordered more food, as we wanted dessert and to sample the ‘puddings’ / cakes, however the lady was so engrossed in talking to some obvious regulars, that even with our subtle hints of clearing our own table etc we were still ignored and eventually we ran out of time (and patience). For reference, we waited half an hour. We would visit again, but hope that maybe the chatty regulars weren’t there, or that the lady wanted to try and make ‘new’ visitors into regulars, and she could take more of our money instead of us going somewhere else for cake (which we did!).

Poor campsite. Facilities inadequate and not particularly clean.Grass long and the site generally unkempt. Cakes in the cafe were in an open cabinet with wasps on the meringues. Tables were dirty. Won' t be going back.

Lived in Derbyshire my whole life yet only stumbled upon this place yesterday by chance when walking from where we where staying for a mini-break on a near by campsite down to Carsington Water & oh my gosh I wish I knew about it before! Beautiful setting, lovely decor and tables inside and outside, dog friendly (a treat was even given to our dog by the staff , which she loved!). Food was lovely and not overpriced at all, extremely reasonable. Massive selection of cakes but also nice lunch/ snacks available. He lady servicing us (not sure if the owner or member of staff) couldn’t do More for us - approachable, chatty yet professional. Totally recommend.

Took a short detour from our walk along Carsington Water to the Pudding Room, what a great place to have a bite to eat and drink. Sat outside in the warm sunshine, service was quick and sandwich/cake was just what we needed before completing our walk.

I haven't been camping for over ten years, then I go with 17 other chaps and 1 lady from work, ( team building ) when we first arrived a lovely lady greeted us very helpful and accomodating, excellent tour guide and provided me and my colleagues breakfast service and our own plot. This lady was the only camping site to allow a large amount of men to camp together, In the vicinity. So my commendations to her and partner. The cakes, coffee and breakfast was sublime and food locally sourced. 10/10 we will revisit, if they let us?! Kind regards Lee Porsche Solihull

A wonderful find, slightly off the beaten track near Carsington reservoir. A peaceful country location with outside dining available, perfect for a hot summers day. Also nicely appointed tables inside through the French windows. The whole place is unassuming and chilled.

Lovely location and well maintained. I would say that the cafe room was pretty new. I had the lime zinga(?) cake and my wife had the apple pie. The cakes were well priced and excellent. One or two of the items in the shop area looked a bit overpriced. As I was not buying those it was not a problem. Nice facilities for the campers and well maintained.

I visited these tearooms with my daughters on Friday 24th May. I have been to other tea shops in Bakewell, but Toscas is by far the best. We had afternoon tea for three of us, we sat outside in the court yard. The afternoon tea arrived and there was lots of lovely cake and sandwiches, beautifully presented, and our host friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, very civilised, we will defiantly be visiting again. In fact we will have a day out to bakewell just to visit Toscas .

Lovely venue for a mid morning brunch, limited seating but such a pleasant cafe.

Fantastic cafe, the icing on the cake (no pun intended) being the birds feeding next to the window. The staff are friendly and efficient and the the food is of a good standard and reasonably priced. I can't understand the few negative reviews, maybe some folk have unfeasibly high standards/expectations?

Friendly staff, generous, well cooked breakfast. Highly recommend. We'll definitely call again. Dog friendly too which is a bonus.

I was really hoping for the wholesome, home cooked food that the price tag promised. The bean casserole tasted like a tin of baked beans with a whole load of dried sage stirred in. The salad could have been bought in a bag at Asda. I won't be going back.
