Have reviewed their Sunday Roast probably two years ago and was a bit lacking.. however as a club member I had a 50% off deal so thought I would try again and have to say I was not disappointed.... Normal price was £17.95 but even at that price it was excellent value. Place is clean and tidy, it is pub atmosphere and setting and the food likewise so no good if you are looking for a Masterchef experience.... The roast was huge, I could not finished it, two well proportioned slices of beef and so,so much veg but so many varieties and a really good Yorkshire. Staff were attentive and welcoming and in fairness you could not fault it. Very laid back and relaxing visit. Thoroughly enjoyed and I should def make more of this facility, after all in the pool/gym 5 days a week anyway!

Can recommend the steak, we'll cooked but chunky chips a little dry. Lager was refreshingly nice if not a little expensive. Nice, efficient staff who needed to smile more.

Booked sunday lunch here sunday 22nd May. Before the pandemic this was a 3 coarse carvery, but now 1 coarse table service. We were told to sit where we liked, they didnt bother to tell us you order at the bar. I ordeded asking for some items not be included, food arrived with the items on, they did take it back. Customer service was non existent they really couldnt be bothered. Not worth anywhere near the £16.95 each we paid no wonder it was empty will never go back total waste of money, for 2 pieces of meat 2 roast potatoes a tablespoon of veg and a large yorkshire. Avoid if you want a nice sunday lunch

Overnighting here. Asked on check in to reserve a table but told not necessary, now I understand why. I waited at the entrance desk for a table but noone came. Long queue at the bar. So I found myself a clear table (several waiting to be cleared, ominous sign). Encouraged to order via the app which I did. Eventually received a message back that payment had been taken and that my meal would be available "for pick up" in 30 minutes. I managed to collar a helpful waitress who was trying to appease the neighbouring table. She took my order. My drink turned up quite promptly. My food a bit later. Was that what I ordered? Coincidentally I heard another neighbouring table reject what sounded like the same dish. It was late, I was hungry and persevered. The rice in particular was pretty disgusting. I ordered another drink. Asked to pay first before it was supplied. The helpful waitress returned and I complained about my food. She offered me another drink but I asked for a dessert on the house which she supplied. Cheesecake a pretty safe bet and it was. Full marks to the helpful waitress but an otherwise dire experience.

Ordered king of protein - too oily despite asking for less oil. Inconsistent - sometimes less oily and sometimes extra oil. Always ask for less oil. Sometimes they listen.

No frills place serving decent pub type food with some healthy options too. Service was excellent, fast and helpful with good social distancing between tables. I chose the American Stack which was basically a burger/fries but came as well with peanut butter, which was a change and I enjoyed.. there are several various themes on burgers too. At £15 it was good value for money. Shame however the same can't be said with the wine - Village has always been a bit expensive but £9 for a large glass of Pinot Grigio is a bit much as most places locally are £6 - £7 mark. I wouldn't have minded but was probably the worse Pinot I have ever had and I drink lots of it! It was so yellow in colour which is not normal for Pinot I wondered whether they got the order mixed but was assured they hadn't. For my second glass I thought I would try the Savignon Blanc at a whopping £11 and again did not really taste good at all. Good place for a bite to eat but get the wine sorted out!

First of all I would like this say I've been to the village a few times , you start at the bar first what never changes is the amount of time you have to stand there to buy a drink it's ridiculas everyone complains nothing is ever done by the time your served you feel like going home . Restaurant well I walked in the other night to view a menu I was totally ignored by the staff the food used to be better , on the carvery it is not real potato more like smash packet it's auful , the beef you can't chew but the restaurant is pleasant just needs better quality food .

No volveremos.

Three of us booked for Sunday lunch. Hubby and I chose the lamb, which was absolutely scrumptious. Grandson, who is vegetarian chose the nut roast (no other option). The selection of vegetables was okay - peas, carrots, cabbage and swede. An option of cauliflower cheese would have been nice - at an extra cost. It was however, disappointing not to have a Yorkshire pudding. It seems that they only come with the beef. My grandson in particular would have liked one - he didn’t have any roast potatoes either, which I think is ridiculous. It was a very tasty dinner with real gravy but for the price yorkies should have come as standard.
