We visited this pub recently and had a frustrating experience. Upon arriving, we were informed the kitchen was closed until 5pm. We politely asked if it would be okay to bring in food from elsewhere, and a member of staff assured us, "of course, that would be no problem." Taking them at their word, we ordered a round of several pints and brought in some takeaway food. However, shortly after, we were abruptly told that bringing in food was not allowed, and we were asked to leave immediately. When we explained that another staff member had told us otherwise, there was no willingness to hear us out. Instead, we were met with "we will have to escalate this to the manager." There was no acknowledgment of the misleading information we had been given, and the whole interaction felt dismissive. We usually enjoy supporting local pubs, but the lack of communication and empathy here left a sour impression. Whilst we were eventually allowed to eat our food, we were certainly not made to feel welcome after that interaction. A simple apology or effort to understand would have made all the difference.

🚇 Herne Hill 🍺 £6.10 Cruzcampo The Prince Regent is located opposite Brockwell Park in the leafy South London suburb of Herne Hill. The nearest station is Herne Hill mainline, it’s a five minute walk to get here. This Victorian corner pub was built in the mid-nineteenth century and was once a Truman’s house. The pub has an elaborate exterior including a statue of the Prince Regent. This is a one bar pub with a good sized bar with a dining area behind a wood and etched glass partition. The decor is traditional with lots of timber fixtures and fittings. The servery is centrally located and has a decorative gantry. There is plenty of seating throughout the, I loved sturdy pews. Around the walls are a number of historical pictures, a couple of TV’s and a handsome Truman's mirror. At the front of the pub there are a dozen or so benches shaded by parasols. The beer selection consists of well known tipples and included one cask. I decided on a Cruzcampo, my pint hit the spot, price point was average. The food menu is pub classics, the specials offered more adventurous dishes, Fish & Chips costs £15.95, Roasts are available Sundays. I arrived just before 12pm on a sunny Saturday lunchtime in September. The pub was not long opened so I had the pub to myself. The service was pleasant, I was served by friendly chap who was welcoming. There was a nice ambiance to the pub which had a laidback local feel. This was my first pub on a crawl around Herne Hill and what a great start. I loved the unique architecture of the pub, the traditional interior and local pub feel. My pint was decent and not overly priced. @theprincetegentse24 is a solid all-rounder and well worth your patronage. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 21.09.24

Staff and vibe are lovely, but oh man the vegan food is bad. I saw 2-3 options and thought “oh, that’s good, they know what they’re doing.” The burger arrived literally as a dry blob in a bun. Not a hint of even salad or sauce. The ‘steak’ looked like a chunky frozen job bought from Iceland for £1.20. I and the table beside me literally just described it as “sad, sorry looking food cooked with absolutely no love.” I felt like I’d been punished for ordering the vegan option. Please, please either cook it like you’re proud of your profession, or take it off the menu so we can get real food somewhere else. (Also thank you for being nice people, but please improve the food..)

Went to this pub before going to project 6. Was fine, but popped on the Sunday after spilling mustard all over my tshirt. Got grief from a libberacci lookalike from the moment I went in re: using the facilities. He sarcastically asked in a loud voice in front of the whole pub whethehr I enjoyed the toilets - mortifying. Roasts were ok for the adults but the gravy was extremely strong flavour (not unpleasant) and they were served in shallow bowl so it was difficult to avoid. This gravy was also on the children’s roasts, my son didn’t really eat anything with this gravy on, I did mention this to the waitress as I handed back his barely eaten roast but it would be good to have this gravy on the side.

Nice pub with a relaxed atmosphere. However the food was a big disappointment. I'm a vegetarian and ordered a vegan burger and was given a burger between a bun with no sauce, salad and no option of cheese (even vegan cheese). It was a dry experience. I asked for some cheese to add to the burger and and was basically given a block of cheese. The two stars given are for the chips and lettuce on my plate but the burger was a huge disappointment at an expensive price. Not a great experience for a vegetarian or a vegan.

This is the general problem I have with a lot of London pubs - paying an extortionate price, for p*ss poor service. I ordered a round which was far more expensive than I thought - when I asked for a receipt, the manager told me to wait and acted very rude. It’s not a big deal, I’m just asking for a receipt. Had little interaction with servers and had to flag down for drinks and to order food. Asked to remove the £15 service charge at the end, to be spoken to so rudely. The server asked us why we were removing it and once we had explained he said we don’t get paid much. Which I sympathise with having worked in hospitality for 6 years. But felt as if he was trying to guilt trip us into paying service charge even though he had not been our waiter all evening? He then told us he didn’t “give a s*** and just wanted to go home”. Amongst other things, I can say hands down the rudest server I have ever come across. We paid over £100 for a mediocre meal with extremely rude service. We spoke to the supervisor who explained to us he was new and it was an ongoing issue, but he also didn’t seem to care much about what we had to say. It’s a shame and we won’t be going back to eat there. Would love for a manager to action this as I have never been spoken to so rudely. My whole table left shocked and it ruined the whole evening.

Last time we came in for dinner we noticed how every dish we ordered was bland and average, something we expect in a home counties pub, not London. Today we had the same experience. Bland & average, but expect high London prices. Really awful experience. We'd booked a space for a 30th birthday party, and asked the pub to provide a very basic spread of finger food for £50. What arrived was some hula hoops (still in bags) chips and hummus - for which they attempted to charge £100. When questioned, the owner of the pub took a member of our party outside, and became extremely aggressive defending his extortionate mark-up. If you add up the amount we spent booking the space, and the amount we drank at the bar, we were probably some of his best customers that night. And his response was to try and rip us off. Be very wary of this place and the owner.

Ok, so when I was with my friend I smelled a familiar smell of something that not be smoked around here I sat down and the Servant staff Natalia told me and my friend that if we want him to smoke something a bit cheeky around her that is not allowed. At first, I was quite angry at the fact that she had said this and I was thinking is it because I'm black that you are saying this. After all, I know for a fact that the person that was smoking that's I smelt previously was coming from somebody that was white. From that point I was determined to only have one drink and move on however it was comfortable and nice to sit down and have a drink and chill and talk with my mate so then I decided to have another drink, after further watching Natalia work around the area I notice that she may have said something of the same calibre to another two new arrivals. I think she is a good server I just feel that she might only be saying it to people that she may suspect does the thing that she suspected of myself and my friend at the time maybe am wrong..... I think if she says the thing that she said to me to everybody, that would be fine.

This pub has so much potential but needs investment from the owner. The toilets were flooded, the handle had come off the sinks and overall the place looks tired. Which is a shame as the building itself is lovely. Some staff were lovely but others were abrupt and rude. They didn’t warn us that the kitchen was closing and had no bar snacks or crisps on offer. Left early to go elsewhere. Also lots of people seemed to be going to the upstairs private room despite the rule of 6 which seems suspicious. Overall a poor experience.

Bit disappointed as it seemed to be a bit chaotic. We were all served our steaks and had to wait for cutlery... The basics were missing. The chip quality was also not very good, and the steak wasn't the best cut. The mushroom sauce was very thin. The team were friendly enough, it just needed some organisation.

I like the pub, been plenty of times, but I have a speech impediment and they've hung up on me twice now when I've been trying to book a table.

I went there with a friend last Tuesday for dinner and pints as walk ins, and were told it was steak night. We both had the 14oz Ribeye which was cooked to perfection, served with a tasty peppercorn sauce. Very friendly service, big kudos to my local pub!

Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. We walked in to enquire about a table and were immediately shouted at by who I can only presume was the manager. We asked about a table and were rudely and dismissively told no, without even any eye contact. While I appreciate they were busy, it was a very unkind way to treat a potential customer and we definitely won't be returning.

The hotel is great, located above a pub. It has a lot of history and is modern and new or old furnished. The rooms are small, very clean and cozy. The view of the busy street with the famous double-decker buses and Waterloo station is great. It's not overly loud either. Normal for a big city. Breakfast is traditionally English served in the pub. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Everything really worked really well and we felt very comfortable and would love to come back. The connection to the subway and bus is great. You can also reach many sights on foot.

A very disappointing experience. I would strongly advise NOT going here for a Sunday roast. - We had to wait 45 for our order to be taken. - the Diet Coke tasted of nothing, how do you get Coke wrong? - The food was average at best. The Roast potato's were probably the worst I’ve ever had, tasteless and rubbery. The beef was badly over cooked and very chewy. Not satisfied at with my experience.

Decoração moderna, muito interessante. Um restaurante/bar com ótimos pratos. Comemos um camarão que estava muito bom. O atendimento foi ótimo.
