The pub is much the same as most pubs these days. No longer has food for sale.

Excellent atmosphere when rugby & football are screened on TV. Staff & landlord & wife very friendly Along with a good selection of fine ales available. Haven't eaten there yet. So can't comment on food but sure it's of a good standard 👍

Sunday 28th July. We had Lunch there and it was Good, we all enjoyed our choices. Roast Belly Pork and Roast Beef, The Small Plate of the Veggie option which included Cauliflower Cheese, all came with a Yorkshire, Roast Potatoes and nice selection of Veg. Would I go their again . . . Yes.

Simply said. Never had an issue, food is beautiful and beers are always cold. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

tif, marcus, james and other staff are all elite and entirely unbeatable, if you are looking for a gorgeous pub with the most heart, you should really head here. hope this pub never changes as i truly believe it has the most characterful team and best service, buckle up for some beautiful bevs and proper people. ahoy me hearties <3

Loved this place at the weekend..visited with friends for the rugby Sat and Sunday! Has a lovely friendly ambience and the staff were brilliant... bit of a mix up on the table booking but James was brilliant in sorting it..both days were so enjoyable... when we come to Twickenham again we are definitely coming back to POW... Alan's local !

I visited this pub for the RWC final and there was a fantastic atmosphere. There are multiple screens which show international rugby as wellas Harlequins matches. I enjoyed meeting the staff and landlord who were incredibly friendly. I really appreciated that a member of staff checked I was ok when another customer was touchy/feely with me. I look forward to spending more time here!

Thank you Tiffany for allowing us to use the back room to hold a celebration of life for my late wife Sarah ! We met over 35 years ago in this very pub and even held our wedding reception there in 1990 ! The staff were very friendly and helped make a wonderful night a memorable experience!

Was always a great fan of this pub through the ages. However, in recent times it seems AJ who does the pies has moved on and although they allow food to be brought in the kitchen is indefinitely closed pending a new chef. It was therefore pretty dead on a Saturday night assuming the main attraction is the food. The main gripe was two halves of Bitburger and a Baileys weighing in at over £12. I worry for this place and won’t be hurrying back by that token

The best service of any pub I’ve been to. Enthusiastic, proactive staff. The manager is clearly liked by the staff and customers which makes for a great environment. They are planing to restart food in the near future I am told. Major sports are shown but are not intrusive as the pub is big and light and airy and also has a big garden.

Exception hidden gem of the Twickenham pub scene. Big beer garden which gets sun most of the day, nice and quiet, and reasonably priced beers – unlike some other pubs in the area.

Well kept real ales and good home made food. The pies are special which were served with a large dish of wonderful fresh vegetables. Not one to rave about veg but there's a good cook/chef behind the scenes here!

Nice local pub. Currently not serving food as they are renovating the kitchen.

AJ’s pies are just out of this world. No air whatsoever in the pie and filled to the brim. Other options available on the menu which are equally as good. Great selection of beer and staff are friendly and attentive

Ask anyone in twickenham about AJ’s pies and you won’t hear a negative word said about it. Pies are filled to the brim with no air or space left in the pie! The chicken, bacon and leek pie was simply divine. Also had the chicken katsu burger which was super tasty and filling Shout out to Dan and Tiffany behind the bar who were super friendly and attentive.

Met some old friends here before the Prem'22 rugby final. Really friendly, helpful and attentive bar staff. Good selection of different beers to suit to most tastes. Excellent hot home-made pies with mash or chips with gravy (steak and ale for me, so tasty). Highly recommended.

Excellent local pub, with a couple of screens for sport. Also has a lovely pie menu, but get there early, as they go quickly!

Good pub. It can get quite busy at times but it has quite a bit of space inside and there’s a beer garden in the summer. The food is definitely worth checking out

Sunday Lunch,1st of May. Very good portions, good quality meat and service. My Wife had the Pork Belly and I had the Lamb, which both came with Yorkshire Pud, Roast Potatoes and Parsnips and a bowl of Carrot n Swede and Carbbage, Sugar Snap Peas (and I don't carel and Peas. Will be back.

Turned up without booking, the young lady kindly squeezed us in, amazing pie's, never had a pie that filled with such succulent meat. Thanks

Lovely and friendly pub. The bar staff always have a smile and go the extra mile. One of the few pubs where they come to your table to ask you if you would like anything else. Great for a quick snack or a full meal

Decent pub, nearly impossible to get a seat Friday and Saturday but I've always been very find out it. Its incredibly loud on a weekend and then they put the music on and people have to raise their voices to be heard so it gets even louder. Not a place for a quiet drink, probably one for the younger crowd

I have attended this venue many times and always take my guests to London here. AJ's food is brill!!

My wife and I went to the Prince of Wales for a couple of drinks just after they were allowed to re-open the garden after the relaxation of lockdown rules. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and we really enjoyed our evening. I tried the real ale (Pendlewick?) recommended by the barmaid/landlord and it was a nice pint.

Tiffany is absolutely amazing. Even with everything going on, she still makes a pub environment feel safe and enjoyable. It is so nice to see someone take so much pride in what they do to keep a business going. There is not a bad word i could say about this pub. Everything is clean and tidy, even prior to COVID, it has always been the way here with her running it. For the food, what can i say.... i have never had a bad meal here, Friday night, cant beat the nachos, Sunday, i cant say i have ever had a better roast in a pub/restaurant. As for the AJ pies, if you haven’t had one, you NEED to try one. All in all, i would highly recommend this pub, wether it is for food or drink. All staff are so friendly and welcoming, but Tiffany is by far is the best manager of a pub i have come across and there is never a dull moment being here.

Came here for dinner, the pub isn’t participating in the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. Food arrived and was lovely- until I found a long, curly, grey hair in my pie on my 3rd mouthful. Spent the rest of the evening feeling really nauseous.

I happened upon this absolute brilliant pub last night. What a pleasure it was to find, there are a large number of locals who clearly know the place and each other very well. Far from being elitist they were super welcoming. Great beer and selection of gins and other spirits. Food by AJ is awesome too, seriously if you like pie there is no pint on earth like it. I can't recommend this establishment enough.

Very inconsiderate to local residents. Pub meant to shut at 11pm, lots of noisy people smoking out the front and drunk people in the garden after 11 during the week when people have work the next day and children are sleeping. Cars beeping outside to drop off people late at night too. Would be nice if the local pub could respect the local community. Few times I have been in there the food/drinks and ambience has been average.

fully booked but not heaving - great beer, staff and excellent food - it was international pie week and they didn't disappoint!! It is a walk to HQ but actually quite nice break to festivities.

This is a great local that does good food. I watched the rugby, England v Ireland, on 23 February and had a very tasty Sunday lunch. Efficient and friendly service. Cant ask for more!

Decided to try this pub for New Year’s Eve. Met the manager Chris and barman Bailey who were both so lovely and cheerful in the New Years spirit! Great selection of lagers and a few ales and Camden on draft. Great selection of spirits too. Will definitely be back to try the food especially AJ’s pies! They look amazing!

This a traditional pub which has a locals atmosphere, you have to order your food from the bar but, staff are friendly and service is efficient. We ordered a mix of Sunday roasts, the pie and the vegetarian option, all were very tasty. They have a decent selection of beers which were reasonably well kept.Would come back when visiting this area.

Absolutely lovely Sunday roast. I went for the beef which was just the way I like it. Slightly pink (Not some grey old piece of cardboard) tender and full of flavour. Accompliments just as good. Will be back for sure

Lovely pub garden which is perfect for lunch outside on such a sunny day. My Goats Cheese Salad was wonderful with onion marmalade, a fresh crunchy salad and homemade bread. My son enjoyed his chicken burger although the copious chips proved too much for him. The food was so good we also bought a couple of homemade pies to take home.

PoW, is a friendly pub and since AJ Pies has been in the kitchen the food is wonderful. The garden is well kept and a great place for a summers afternoon

I was meeting a number of colleagues and we chose the Prince of Wales.The choice of beer is excellent and the food looks very good. The ambiance was pleasant and the staff were efficient in cheerful. This is a good pub well worth a visit.

To have one chef who also doubles as a waiter during half term is absolutely ridiculous.I asked the barmaid after I ordered food how long it would be ‘no idea’ was her reply.The barman was rude, pushy and generally impolite.I would not recommend.

Came here on an off chance and we loved the food so have been back and have an going to go back for my birthday next month. The food is amazing! Nice local pub nothing too fancy but the food is amazing 😊

This was like a canteen with zero service. We were told to go and get our glass of water from the bar which is next door when we asked for water at the table. Not an onerous task I'm aware, but not expected when you have booked a table!

Thought we would try their Sunday roast and I'm pleased to say it was worth the small wait for it. Chose the rib of beef, two thick, tender slices which came with an enormous Yorkshire pudding, roast pots, parsnip and carrot plus a dish of peas, green beans and broccoli, delicious, even the gravy was just like homemade. Also ordered some of AJ's pies to take home. These are delivered free of charge if you spend a certain amount.

Went here today for a family lunch of 8 adults and 2 children. Food was gorgeous and service was top class. We ordered a mixture of roast dinners and pies and all were served promptly. Really nice food and drink and an enjoyable afternoon had by all until after dinner...

This is one of the best pubs I‘ve visited in the last 40 years. Friendly guests and staff. Great atmosphere. Phenomenal phood! And the best pies on the planet. Go there!!

Traditional feel, but with all the modern technology. No surprise it is a favourite with rugby fans due to its location. Decent drinks and food menu, good atmosphere, although mostly favoured by men

We have been here many many times for a drink but this was our first time for a meal. Staff is always attentive and friendly. They have a good beer/wine/gin selection. The pub is very sports oriented and not very child friendly in the evenings but Sunday day time there were lots of kids, very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. The pies are delicious as was the roast beef. Huge portions of thick cut perfectly cooked beef and the potatoes were amazing. Price is very reasonable for such large portions. Only complaint would be that they ran out of brownies very early in the day but the kids had ice cream with chocolate sauce which made them happy. There is some very stiff competition for best Sunday lunch in Twickenham and The Prince of Wales is definitely a contender. Will be back soon.

We are huge fans of AJ’s Proper Pies (100% filling 0% air) so we were very excited to find out she had taken over the kitchen at the Prince of Wales.

Great new menu. AJ has taken over the kitchen and now serves great fresh food. I dare anyone to try the Godzilla Ribs. (Big enough to share) She also serves her legendary Pies.

We had a great family meal today at the POW, loved the new menu and such great selection to choose from no plates were left empty! Compliments to the new chef AJ, we will be back to try AJ’s famous pies and the Sunday roasts.

This is a lovely pub, with a good size garden. We went here before going to a concert at Twickenham. This is a perfect pub if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Twickenham town. We really enjoyed the chicken burger here.

Great location for a relaxed evening with very tasty and fresh food. The team set up a barbecue with a wide range of meat, cheese and prawns, plus a variety of salads. They were very relaxed about us staying in the garden rather than using the room booked.

I went to this pub to watch an England football game. It is my local but I had never been. The pub itself seemed nice and staff were friendly. The decor inside is a bit bland but the garden outside looks lovely.

I don't really know my own opinion. Place looks perfect, but there is something wrong. I didn't really feel welcome and also stuff looked depressed after offering a drink. This place definitely needs more entertainment and special events. Regards Michael from Romania

A very traditional pub with a modern twist. The pub garden is straight out of the 1970's- brilliant. But the inside has a modern decorations and a great menu. The burger was rather special. Very friendly, Greta pub

Really good Sunday lunch with superb roast veggies and great Yorkshire pud.

I had not been to this pub for a very long time, but went there a few weeks ago with my other half and my neighbours. The plan was to just have a drink, but we ended up ordering dinner. The drink prices are some of the cheapest I've experienced in Twickenham, and there's a great choice of spirits and beers. For dinner I ordered the burger, and it was great! Cooked perfectly, tasted good and came on a full plate with chips and onion rings. Well, we enjoyed it so much that my other half and I decided to visit again the following week. This time we both ordered sirloin steaks; £15 for a big steak, fries and salad, and it was pretty good quality meat. One of the steaks was ordered 'blue', and it was cooked perfectly (in many places it tends to be served over-cooked, but not here!). The staff were lovely - two in the bar, plus the chef. No messing around, no waiting for service, lots of smiles and good banter. Very efficient and friendly service. Nothing was too much trouble, and the drinks were even brought over to the table to save us waiting at the bar. Really glad I've re-discovered this pub! Looking forward to heading back for dinner and a few beers.....

Had not been here for a while as it seemed to have gone downhill previously. However, was very impressed recently when we popped in for a few drinks. The place has a nice up-beat feel about it now and the staff are very friendly and efficient. The garden is also looking nice again. Have been back again and will continue to drink here in the future. Need to try the food next time as well.

Popped here as my brother recommended it as he knows the owners. Its was very reasonable and delicious. Garden beautiful for an aperitif before lunch. Nice decor - airy and light. Highly recommended! :)

We've often visited for drinks, but not eaten here before, so decided to try it for a family Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was great. We had roast chicken and roast beef, but there were more options.Puddings were very good too and everything reasonably priced.

Just had the best roast beef dinner in a long time, delicious meat and veg, generous portion absolutely fantastic, I'll be back!

Always been a decent pub, I go regularly each Thursday evening after football but now has been done up well and offering food. Well worth a visit.

This is my favourite pub in Twickenham. Relaxed atmosphere and always great place to watch rugby. The food is fantastic value- would highly recommend the burger, omelette and steak.

This is a great pub for food with laid back but excellent service. I have eaten here on a number of occasions. The Prince of Wales Burger is great. The menu is varied with all items great value for money. I would definitely recommend.

Had a fantastic Sunday roast here. Very good value and nice large beer garden which actually has a lawn. Laid back but attentive service, nothing was too much trouble. It's a pub rather than a restaurant, but a good one.

Popped in to sample a few ales before a night out in Twickenham. Was given a very warm welcome. Tried a few fantastic ales. Was also given a very generous sample before buying. We then decided to eat here. Well the burgers that they brought out didn't disappoint. Probably the tastiest burger I've had! Highly recommend this pub & will certainly return. Want to try thier Sunday roast!

I usually go after playing football on a Thursday and they are very hospitable and have good beer and snacks. Has a decent garden area outside. Well worth a visit.

Menu just changed so not all French meals now, but my steak and chips was cooked to perfection with a large salad 'garnish'. Partner had a seafood casserole (served with French fries)! which was very good and a very generous serving.
