Nice busy pub with lots of choice in beers. A bit loud maybe

Easy location from the station. No diet tonics in a bar was strange, the toilets were absolutely frozen cold. It was like going outside, we had to put our coats on to go up there. Apart from that it was fine.

Tap Tavern is my favorite pub in Richmond – Great vibes, good food, and the perfect spot to hang out.

Such a nice cozy atmosphere, some really special staff that took the time make me feel fully served. I spoke to Olly and another Chap who were really polite and took the time to have a conversation and be personable. The food was fantastic. Be aware of the prices, but you get your money’s worth. Though I did see Philip Schofield in there once so idk :/

This was a pretty good roast! Gave 4 stars just because of little things like the cauliflower could have done with longer jn the oven and more cheese. And it's expensive as is everything in Richmond. The mushroom Wellington was even better than I thought it would be!

Unfortunately ran out of roasts on a Sunday at 4pm. We went for the burgers instead but aside from the chips being nice, the burgers were tiny and definitely not worth the money. Good range of beers and a good atmosphere. Shame as we won’t go for food any more, but will go just for a drink if we pass.

Nice place. Feels homey and comfortable. However, very disappointed with the food. My friends and I were very hungry after a long walk and we were looking forward to lunch. Three of us ordered the Cheeseburger and chips. The burgers were served and we all looked at each other. We didn't realise the burgers at £15 each were were not adult portions because they were probably the smallest burgers we've had in any pub in the UK. You can see from the photo how small they were. To be fair, they were tasty but we all felt we needed to go somewhere else to fill our stomachs. You were warned! Do not order the burger if you are not a child!

When you’re need of a tipple off the High St in Richmond, this is a reliable go-to. Plus, a convenient back door passage to M&S’s wine section is adjoining if you’re you need this as a place en route.

Literally delicious chicken tenders. I booked a table with work (12 people) on Thursday evening and service was impeccable. Great atmosphere, 100% would recommend!

Lovely drinks and food. Young man called Ross served me drinks and so did Carter, both nice lads. Service here is unmatched compared to other pubs.

Nice little pub situated centrally in Richmond but just off the main drag, so not to crowded. Pleasnt, light room, good beers, very well prepared dimple food. Recommended.

went there with a friend in the evening and what a lovely place it is. It was a lovely warm night and managed to get a table outside. We ordered drinks and food, the food is amazing. I highly recommend the nachos, but beware the portion is huge. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, even making cocktails late into the evening. I highly recommend this place.

Lovely pub which we have visited often - but not sure we'll be doing so again after being charged an absolutely outrageous £29 for two basic G&Ts today. Crazy pricing for a neighbourhood pub, and totally out of whack with what is charged for beer and wine.

Didn't get food and only got one beer but it's in a nice cosy location and is themed well, as in plants, decor, furniture.

Tap Tavern ,Richmond. I had a wonderful experience. The bar itself is beautiful, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. They offer a great selection of specials that are well worth trying. What really stood out to me was the exceptional service— Alice, in particular, was incredibly polite and kind, and I got the sense that all the staff are just as friendly and attentive. It’s clear they really care about their customers. If you're looking for a charming spot in Richmond with excellent service and a variety of drinks, Tap Tavern is definitely a place I would highly recommend.

So I visited the Tap Tavern today to have a nice chilled pint and some food just to kill some time and it was everything I wanted and more. I was served by a lovely gentlemen called Patrick, he elevated my afternoon from a nice time to memorable experience. Funny charismatic and a joy to talk to. Knew when to leave me be while also being very attentive. I am overjoyed with the service and that man needs a raise.

It's lovely to have a tap room in the middle of Richmond. We used to frequent here regularly when we lived there back in 2018 and recently went back and visited. It has a great selection of beers and does good food, although can take it's times so don't order on a match day in the hope you can quickly grab something. Think posh burgers, fish and chips and nachos It can get busy at the bar as it isn't the biggest venue, so be warned that on a Friday and Saturday there might only be standing room and if it's raining there isn't a lot of covered space outside so people will squeeze in. It does also have a cool speakeasy whisky bar as well, which is nice and snug if you can get a seat in there. A lovely little find by accident one drunken evening after the disappointing 2019 rugby world cup result.

Fantastic venue. We have been going for years. Lovely staff, amazing selection of drinks and quality food. There aren’t many truly independent venues that have this much quality.

Good place to hang out with your mates and watch the football. Affordable drinks and pub food. Very friendly and helpful staff. I might add the pub has a wonderful wall dedicated to all the dogs that have crossed the pub's door.

It's become our go to venue in Richmond before any rugby at Twickenham or The Stoop. Great beer choice and well kept, not cheap but I am from the north originally :-). Food on Sunday was straightforward and really good quality and good portion sizes. Will definitely be back. Staff are really friendly and helpful as well!

Treated myself to a post work pint before the bus home. Had to nip to the loo and asked the chap behind the bar to keep my drink behind the bar while I did so. He did, no questions asked and very politely and promptly gave it back afterwards. As a lone female, this was hugely appreciated. Big thank you to Marcus, see you again soon!

Good place! Excellent choice of beers from their tap wall. Cask in good condition. Efficient, friendly staff. The building could do with a deep and regular clean though and better ventilation as the gents' toilets smelled rank and the customers' BO was ripe on Friday night. I'm a bloke though so I don't care too much. Would return for the beer quality alone 👍🏼

Visited The Tap Tavern recently because friend B used to go there in his misspent youth in the 70s and wanted to see his old stamping ground. It was mid-afternoon and completely empty (so we were pleased it was open and serving), so one could hardly say there was any atmosphere. Very nice beer, a generous bowl of mixed nuts, and pleasant serving staff. Apparently the place had changed over the intervening half century (including its name) but the perilous ascent up rickety wooden stair to the loos I guess has not changed! Be careful if you're infirm! Otherwise it's a place I'd happily recommend.

Absolutely perfect, drinks offerings are very high quality. Service was very good, and staff were lovely.

The absolute worst bar in Richmond you can ever go to, I, myself work in hospitality for more than a decade and I usually am not the kind to complain or leave reviews, but this place, 6 staff in, 2 behind the bar and only 1 of them all really working and trying to serve everyone while the others are just chatting. Waited literally 15mins to get 1 pint. AVOID AT ALL COST unless you’re lucky to get serve by this short/young/lovely one Sorry guys, but need to fix your staff really.

Came on a Friday at 3pm and stayed until after 7! Had a table but the staff were so unfriendly and useless we served ourselves the whole time - no problem. They did not bring a single drink to the table! To then get charged a 12.5% service charge is despicable but it is what it is. We won’t be back! Beer - 5/5 Service - 1/5 Ambiance - 4/5 Location - 5/5 Customer service - 0

Great location and decent beer selection. Unfortunately, the food is really sub-par. Had the burger and it was not good. The nachos are interesting to say the best. Have a beer or a GnT but don’t eat at this place.

Booked here for an easter Sunday roast with my family. Staff seemed hungover and disinterested, we didn’t feel very welcomed. We all ordered roast dinners and we were very disappointed. The meat was completely overdone and chewy, the veg was boiled to death and the gravy was like water and the potatoes were evidently frozen, bland and dry. There was absolutely no flavour to any of the dish and we had to use so much salt and pepper for it to be edible. The cauliflower cheese was also full of water and bland. The portions were also not very big for the price we paid. They also forgot to bring out the cauliflower cheese for ages until we had almost finished and we had to ask for it twice, to their credit they apologised and took it off the bill but then charged us for a beer we never had. Such a shame as we booked this as a treat and it ended up costing over £100 for 4 bland roasts and 4 soft drinks leaving us wishing we just went to a wetherspoons instead.

We often visit the Tap Tavern and usually it is great but on this occasion it was not. There were a number of tables with reserved signs but we specifically chose one without one. At just before 5pm a member of staff came over and told us it was reserved from 5pm so we would have to move. No reserve sign to be seen, the only offer was to perch on the end of a high table in the noisy main bar area. No apology and when we mentioned the issue when paying there was no offer of goodwill as we chose to leave and go elsewhere for food. Would reconsider going again if this is how people are treat going forward.

Really nicely decked out pub with a relaxed atmosphere with cool playlists. Wide selection of craft beers on tap. Not the best place to remote work on an afternoon, lots of inane middle class chatter in the air.

Visited for England versus Ireland rugby match. Though hoping for a different match outcome, the service and food quality were excellent even though pub was quite busy. Have been here quite a few times and always had excellent service and value for money.

We had a work team drinks and food evening here last week and it was great, they made lovely gin and tonics, food was good too. The staff were very accommodating and efficient. Highly recommend. x

The food was expensive with no justification, the meat was dry and the pie was burnt. 2 sunday roasts and one beer for 50£.

The Tap Tavern best approached via the little alleyway because it is fun. A super pub with a range of keg beers displayed on the back bar. There are also a couple of bespoke cask ales on offer. Lovely staff behind the bar offering excellent cheerful service. The Tap Tavern is worth a visit anytime.

Me and my friends wanted to eat a fish and chips after a long walk. We were expecting to pay around 15£ but actually found out about the menu which included a meal and a drink for only 10£ !! We ordered beers and ciders that were some of the best I’ve tried, and the fish and chips was simply delicious. The waiters are extremely friendly and welcoming too and the atmosphere is very nice. Definitely recommend this place.
