The people have no idea how to run a bar or restaurant There is the most basic menus and the food is ok what there is The family children, in law who ever they are just walk to and fro in front of you. There is no control, toys on the floor no dress standard no uniform. Only four stars for health standard which makes you worried. It appears that the Family on a whim thought let’s buy a pub.. There is no management no style no information What a shame the previous people were great and the food was excellent

What a little gem. A real home away from home; warm, cosy and inviting. Food was hot and tasty, service with a wink and a smile, and an atmosphere you could put your feet up to.. Charmed

Thought my friend and I would try this old pub in the pretty village of Blackmore for lunch. It wasn’t very welcoming when we walked in and seemed grubby looking. We were the only ones in there so felt awkward walking out. But wished we had. no atmosphere in there at all . The food was mediocre . Won’t be going back. It’s sad that two other pubs have closed down in Blackmore such a pretty village..

Having spent a good couple of hours or more walking around the area, we needed a good place to rest, eat and a drink. So with our dog in tow we headed to the Prince Albert, to be honest, it hasn't changed much in 40 years, (an old drinking hole for the boys,) we found ourselves a table and took the weight off our feet. The first thing you notice is that it’s a traditional pub, no fancy tables and chairs or minimal appearance, this is a real old pub, and a great choice of beers, ales and all other drinks, but the important thing is the beers on tap, fresh, hoppy and great to taste. We settled down to scampi and chips, and I had the liver and bacon with mash. Well, it was excellent, scampi cooked correctly, not dry but meaty when you bit into them. The liver was tender, bacon not too salty and plenty of mash, homemade, not lumpy nor powdery but good mash. The salad and the veg were fresh, rich colour and just prepared, chef took care to ensure anything was how you would want it at home. Service was brilliant, nothing too much bother, dog happily laid between the tables and just a great way to spend a couple of hours recovering. To be truthful, this was the old Blackmore I knew so many years ago, friendly, welcoming and a provider of good food and drink. Too many places have changed, some for the better, but lots for the worst, if you want tradition, a friendly greeting and good food, you can’t go wrong with the Prince Albert.

Dropped in on the off chance 2 weeks ago on a Friday lunchtime Can honestly say I had the best liver, bacon and onions ever had. Mash fantastic! Have been back since and steak pie was equally great. Will be back to try the Fish specials very soon. Only drawback is that menu is a little limited

Nice Typical Village Pub - BUT The Food Far Nicer than just Your Average "Pub Food". The Efficient Attentive Staff ensure a comfortable visit. And Generous Portions Too And Very Reasonable Price. The Liver and Bacon Really Nice and Highly Recommended as everything we had. Several people say the Sunday roast is worth making a Detour for and also reasonable price. We Will Most Definately Return Soon. Nice Real Ales also available. Highly Recommended.

Just popped into the pub for a bite to eat. Was welcomed with a smile and ordered a drink and ordered a meal for two. Well what can I say, we ordered a meat pie, "called a love pie" 😍 Which we had with chips peas and offered gravy. If you want good value and great food this is a pub for you. Caterers for couple, family's and children all seem welcome. Been in here all sorts of time for food and always the same quality . Well done Craig.

Used to love the place when Lawries tried it for the first time the other day. Dissapointed with the fish and chips nothing like the pictures shown more like a frozen flat piece of small fish ?? Chips quite oily. On the positive side staff very pleasant and prices good. May give it another try on a Sunday lunch.

We came here today for Friday lunch. Clean, spacious pub/restaurant. There is limited parking but more parking available nearby. All the food was well cooked and presented. A little disappointed with my fish, didn't think I'd was cooked fresh (frozen?). Everybody else enjoyed their lunch. Very reasonable prices. Would visit again

This is a traditional local village pub with all the beams, good food, good beer Directors and Sharps, there's a patio area to the rear, relaxing atmosphere. Nothing more can be better after a Sunday walk. Traditional Sunday Lunch choice of Beef, Lamb or Turkey.. no Lamb but plenty of vegetables and gravy available on our visit. Steady flow of people, some just turning up and not booked, all taken care of. Staff serving and bar staff friendly. A number of local people in as well.... always a good sign. Will go again with friends.

Wonderful Sunday lunch in a lovely setting. Blackmore has a village green together with a duck pond, a small antiques shop and a couple of pubs and tea shoppees. We tried the Prince Albert pub for lunch and weren't disappointed. The Sunday lunch was fab - plenty of meat, potatoes and veg - which were served in separate dishes. We really enjoyed it. We also had a lovely cheesecake to follow. Quick service by a really friendly and attentive male waiter together with fab food. Would highly recommend.

We had lunch today and about three months ago,. On each occasion, the welcome was warm, friendly, and focussed; the menus provided a wide choice; the table was beautifully set and spotless; the service was excellent; and the meals were delicious and served attractively. Couple all this with very reasonable prices and we left very satisfied and determined to visit again very soon.

We booked for Sunday 28th August for lunch. The pub itself is charming. The staff are very pleasant and attentive without being 'over the top'. We had a variety of different meals. Roast beef, Salmon in a lovely light sauce,Chicken and Pork cheeks. All were absolutely delicious! Our deserts were equally delightful! The final bill including drinks was very reasonable. All in all, a delightful meal in a charming setting. We look forward to a return visit very soon.

Stayed with friends in the lovely village of Blackmore, and they booked us an evening meal at Lawries Brasserie. They told us that the chef, who now runs the restaurant, used to work at the Ritz in London! so we were really looking forward to our meal. The men both started with a delicious seafood soup which they shared with us, and then on to the mains. I had pork cheek, which I'm had never tried before. It was melt in the mouth tender, and accompanied by a lentil and pearl barley dish. The other dishes tried were chicken, and monkfish Everyone enjoyed their meals, and we had no room left for dessert. I would not hesitate to recommend the food here, and will definitely visit again in the future.

I had the fillet steak which was excellent but where were the vegetables?? Looking at everybody's food I discovered that all the food was a similar beige colour. The chef really needs to make the food more colourful and attractive and good veggies would improve the overall experience. The menu was slightly strange with a plate of chickpeas in a slightly spicy sauce as a starter. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The pub really could do with a freshen up and the toilets were definitely in need of modernising. They were not very clean either. I think with a few tweaks this could be excellent.

A local pub/restaurant in the village and obviously very popular. Good choice of meals, well prepared and served by a very pleasant waitress. We ate in the bar (don't know if there's a separate dining room). The only drawback was the fact it became quite noisy as the locals came in to have an evening drink.Lovely food but a bit pricey for a village pub.e

We have been to Lauries a few times and the service is always faultless - the food very good quality - prices ok. Everything Great - cant even fault the music. On this visit my wife had salmon and prawn cocktail [nice variation] followed by Whiting fillets and I chicken liver pate with toast followed by lamb - all really nice. They do things differently and things a tad unusual and not seen other places such as Ox cheek for example. Well worth seeking out.

We find this pub resturant by default today and we are glad we did! We made a last minute decision to go out for lunch so hadn't booked anywhere! We drove to Blackmore and thought we would try the Bull but found it was no more! We then tried another resturant in the village but this was fully booked! Anyway we went into the ALbert which seemed very welcoming so decided to eat there! The staff were delightful, an older male waiter and three young female staff! We then proceeded to have a lovely (not expensive) . The food was well presented and well cooked and we couldn't fault it! We certainly will be going back again! I didn't give it an overall excellent rating because the ladies loo does need decorating and updating but that was mt only gripe!!

We stopped off in Blackmore Village for a drink and came across The Prince Albert. We entered to a roaring log fire...Well is was very chilly outside. A young very friendly lady took our order for drinks......Whilst me and my friend warmed up....we then decided to have some lunch, which we had not planned on doing. However, the menu was handed to us and we ordered a started and main course.......Which brings us to the main the course.....Never in my life have I ever eaten pig cheeks.....Well, this was a very meaty hearty experience. The meat was melt in the mouth full of flavour. It was a sort of stew, but with a difference. The flavour was amazing........Oh, and the starter of crab, salmon and prawn was also amazing......I highly recommend this place.

Under new management, the Prince Albert restaurant/pub is also known as Lawrie's Brasserie. We went there for the first time two days ago (Saturday lunchtime), having checked trip advisor ratings. We expected a pleasant lunch. However it exceeded our expectations by a long way. The food was beautiful, the service was excellent and the set menu price was very good value for money. We will return and we highly recommend it. Enjoy!

My friend and I decided to go for a country side walk and reward our selves with Sunday lunch at the Michelin mentioned Leather bottle, we arrived to a packed pub fully booked, the bar man said to try the Prince Albert across the road, we are so glad he did. Room to move, the nicest waiting staff we have came across in a long time, beef cooked medium rare, the best Yorkshire pudding I have ever had and a fish soup starter that was sublime! This will now be a destination for us rather than a happy accident.
