We had Afternoon Tea booked for us as an Anniversary treat from Family members. Very Welcoming, friendly and plenty of smiles right from the start. The staff couldn't have been more obliging to us 3, and also our pooch. The Afternoon Tea was fabulous - plenty of everything and so much choice. What we couldn't manage to eat the staff boxed for us to take away. We enjoyed it so much we booked to return for Sunday lunch in 2 weeks time. Lovely to have a local cafe to have breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea - good prices, and really enjoyable food. Absolutely recommended 👍💐💖

I love everything about The Potting Shed. From the staff, to the layout of the cafe. Contrary to previous comments, I have never seen the cafe dirty or staff brusque I think that the standard of hygene is extremely high, with staff cleaning tables and floor repeatedly throughout the time we were there. On average, I go roughly once every few weeks and keep returning because its the first place my friends suggest when we meet up.. The food selection is great with everything freshly prepared. I particularly.like the chicken and bacon club sandwich but the coronation chicken comes a close 2nd . Some of my friends have a sweet tooth and the selection.of cakes , brownies. Caramel and custard slices really appeals to them. Great coffee too.

When we arrived we stood at the wait here to be seated sign until a member of staff shouted over sit where you like. The menus were dirty and sticky and there were tables that needed emptying cleaning. We ordered our door and drinks, the hot drinks arrived but no sign of the cold drinks, we had to go and ask for them. One plate of food arrived, then the second a few minutes later. We had to ask for cutlery. The food really wasn’t anything special, I had a salad, the tomatoes were clearly past their best, the coleslaw was quite unpleasant, it had a strong vinegar taste. I wouldn’t go back. It could be a really nice place if it had a good clean and the staff could be a little more bothered instead of standing around chatting.

Felt it could do with a good clean and outside a good brush as there is litter and old food under tables. Empty tables full of crumbs, and the sofa is pretty dirty. Food OK. Service, some staff a bit brusque and short including at the till in the garden centre. But one jolly lady made up for it. Left feeling a bit like we were a pain to those working there. Probably spend my money elsewhere next time.

Living locally, we have been visiting The Potting Shed for many years and always received a warm welcome when accompanied by our, very well-behaved dog, until this last visit when we were rather abruptly informed that we could not have our dog on our laps and that he had to be on the (cold stone) floor. Surely being on the floor would constitute more of a trip-hzzzard? Perhaps our custom is less valued now that the holiday season has started than it is off-season? The food was passable but this new dog 'rule' means we will not be returning, there are many other dog-friendly establishments.

Unfortunately our recent visit will be the last. While they advertise “Dog friendly” they’re unhappy for you to have your pet on your own lap anywhere other than their cold (or burning hot) slate floor. The lady approached to say we weren’t allowed our small dog on a chair or lap, in a very Stand off-ish manner and wasn’t open to discussing this as she walked away after saying her part. She later came to apologise and while this was appreciated there was no sense of cooperation. They have a poster of the Dog Rules yet nowhere does it state this. The flooring is also either freezing when out of the sun, or boiling hot when in the direct sunlight from the windows as it’s black slate. While I understand and respect that larger dogs should not be sat on chairs or laps, I don’t agree with small dogs being forced to stay on the floor in a busy cafe where they won’t be seen by people walking by who stand on them and/or kick them passing by. I have seen multiple dogs sustain injuries from being stood on or kicked unintentionally in cafes that adopt this policy, and was nearly done so by the waitress as she didn’t see our dog and nearly kicked him. I strongly think you need to reconsider calling yourself a “Dog friendly” establishment if you have no interest of the welfare of dogs.

This was our 4th visit to the Potting Shed, the other 3 times was during out of season. Those 3 times we were allowed to sit our little chihuahua dog on our coats, on the wooden seat next to us, because the stone flooring can be too cold for her because of the breed, which they are prone to feeling the cold.. There was no problem those 3 times, but today we were told that no dogs are allowed on the seats. It seems that out of season, when not many people visit, they are happy to allow it to take our money because custom is low, but today with it being busier, we couldn't sit our dog on the chair. We just wanted her to be able to sit on one of the wooden chairs on a coat. We will not be going back there again.

Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful. Sunday lunch is superb with a choice of three meats and their gravy is very tasty. Home made deserts also excellent. Also had breakfast there and again good choices on the menu and cooked perfectly. Went to the potting shed yesterday for breakfast, we always go here because the food is always excellent and the staff are excellent and friendly and always making sure you’re happy and got everything you need and is great value for money. We was also there when one of the staff members brung out a cake for a friend and sung happy birthday which we thought was lovely and involved everybody if they wanted to join in, you don’t go that in many places and was a very nice idea. Every time we come to this area, we always pop into the potting shed.

Not overly impressed with our recent visit. I called the day before to reserve a table being a weekend in half term. All of the staff were stood behind the counter gossiping when we arrived. No hello, good morning etc. So we began wandering looking for our table. We were then abruptly told that we could sit on a reserved table as long as we paid attention to the time that it was booked. I then informed the staff that we'd booked a table and her attitude changed on a sixpence. We ordered a pot of tea for two that barely served one person. The third guest ordered a latte which arrived with the majority of it on the saucer, not in the glass. One thing we really didn't appreciate was the staff member shouting at the top of her lungs that it was somebodies birthday (who she then informed the entire place was one of her "besties") and expected everybody to sing. If they'd paid equal attention to every guest rather than showing one table favouritism, we would be more inclined to return.

Used to love coming here regularly but has gone down hill hugely over the last few years.. Staff shortage so takes ages to get someone’s attention or help as staff are obviously under great stress and pressure. Food was inedible, ham was a grey colour, cold and gross. Food was rushed and had poor presentation. Prices are expensive for what you receive, £9 for a jacket potato.. disappointed as we used to love coming here.

Couldn't eat it all, so brought home in a takeaway box. Will be going back. To the previous reviewer, who wrote about dogs on furniture. That's not the cafe's fault, that's irresponsible dog owners. No problems when we were there, even though several dogs in cafe.

Visited over a weekend for coffee and cake. Expecting the cafe to be busy, I called the day before to reserve a table (which was a bizarre ordeal in itself). When we arrived it was clear there was no record of my call. As soon as we sat down an older blonde lady was at the table wanting our order. When I requested 5 minutes to have a look at the choices of coffee and cake I was met with an attitude as if we were wasting her time. When she returned to take our order we were again greeted with the same attitude. The whole experience felt rushed and there were no please or thank yous from her. I also purchased cakes to take away which she left for another member of staff to hand to me, which they didn't, so she felt it necessary to rudely tell me that they were ready.

I have been visiting the Potting shed occasionally over the last three years and it has been one of my favourite places to go. However, having just visited for breakfast with my partner I don’t think I’ll be returning again. I ordered poached eggs on toast and paid extra for another egg and hash browns and my partner ordered a small breakfast. The poached eggs came out (without the added egg I had paid for) and were so over cooked, hard and basically inedible. I mentioned about the missing egg and the staff member said it would be a few minutes and then returned with a poached egg which was just about cooked. The hash browns were dripping in fat and looked very unappetising. I wasn’t happy at all with the breakfast and took the plate to the counter where I was met with a rather rude member of staff. I explained what was wrong and the staff member basically just said “WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT THEN?” and was quick to point out “WELL THAT ONE LOOKS OKAY” about the third egg that came out. No apology was given nor any offer to replace the meal, without me having to say I just wanted three poached eggs, cooked normally, on toast. Approx 10 mins later my plate then came back out and thankfully was fine. I didn’t have any cutlery and went back in to get some and the staff member looked at me like I was thick and reluctantly handed over a knife and fork. My partners small breakfast then came out which frankly was a disaster. The fried egg was so overdone, the tomatoes were two small tomatoes cut in half and weren’t even cooked, the mushrooms barely cooked. The only good thing was the bacon which was nice! At this point we didn’t even bother to complain and just wanted to get out of there as quickly a possible. To summarise, the staff need a lesson in customer service, the chef needs to learn how to cook and the owner needs to get the place back up to its old standards. Won’t be returning.

Basically the Yorkshire pudding on the Festive Menu which I had on Monday was Sundays leftovers reheated but without veg as they had run out carrots, peas and Roast potatoes although the owner was adamant all had been cooked in the morning. Great service from girls who had offered a refund of the whole amount £10 but the owner having none of it and deducted £1 . Us locals keep you going through the winter. TERRIBLE ATTITUDE FROM THE OWNER - I visited 'The Potting Shed' today with a friend. Unfortunately my friend ordered the Turkey dinner in a Yorkshire pudding and we were told that they did not have any veg but could give extra stuffing!!! The meal was stale, unatractive and tasted like it was left over from yesterday (Sunday lunch possibly) and reheated. We were told that we would not be charged the £10 by the waitress but when I went to pay the bill I was told that a £1 discount was all the BOSS/Owner would allow. When we were leaving the owner was very rude to us. I would not reccomend to friends or family.

We popped in hoping for snacks and hot food which the servers told us was available for another 15 minutes when we arrived and said they'd come to the table to take our order. When no one had come 15 minutes later, we went back inside to follow up, and we were told hot food was no longer available, and the server denied they had said it would be as they had stopped serving a while ago. A mix up like this should have been handled with an apology, even if the server felt that we have misunderstood; although not sure how this could be possible since our whole group had definitely heard them say hot food was available when we arrived. It was like they didn't want our custom; we went back outside to try and re-choose from the menu, but we weren't sure what food was available, and when still no one came out to help or to take the order we gave up and left. Waste of time!

Today, I came into the potting shed after not coming for a few weeks and I was shocked at what I would describe as the excessive increase in prices. £2.50 for two welsh cakes? £1.40 for a can of Coke? Sandwiches for £7/£8, it really is excessive and it seems profit over customer satisfaction has been prioritised. I hope the owners review this and remember there are lots of other cafes around where you pay less and get much more for your money!

The ham, although very tasty was in very thick chunks in the sandwich along with chunks of cucumber, pepper etc. it was difficult to cut and eat and it all just fell apart. I'd have been better off dismantling it and eating it with a knife and fork - not exactly what you want to do with a sandwich! Service was slow - they brought my pot of tea first then I waited for almost 15 minutes for the rest for the order to come by which time the pot of tea had started to cool.

This was a really lovely find and I ate there on 3 occasions just to sample some of their huge assortment of fresh cakes!!! Delicious. On the 1st visit we ate the hot food which was tasty but the curry, half chips and half rice was far too large a portion and I felt bad for sending the plate back still with plenty of food on it. Please reduce the portion sizes that is my only change suggested. I would definitely recommend here to anyone in the area, oh and the garden centre is excellent too.

We stopped off on an impromptu day out and enjoyed wandering around the garden centre. The Potting Shed was quite busy & everyone's food looked lovely so we decided to eat here rather than drive around. Am so glad we did. A lovely menu with something for everyone, spotlessly clean and the meal was delicious. Loved the local produce and homemade chutney/pickle really was good. Great value for money and fab service too. Well worth giving this place a try, everyone working here is friendly and welcoming.....one of my favourite places to have visited . Thank you

Tried this place before and really enjoyed but how things have changed. Pie of the day had thick soggy pastry top and bottom with little filling and my companions chicken curry looked and tasted like it came out of a jar, found two bits of chicken about 1/2 cm square. The girl behind the counter continuously touched her hair, ears, nose and mouth without washing her hands. We used to recommend this eatery but will not do so or try it again. Nice building!

We went for lunch we friends who are regular customers. As it was our first visit, we were pleasantly surprised by what we found. We hadn't ordered a Christmas lunch in advance but the waitress kindly offered to see if it was possible for us to order and our luck was in! We all enjoyed our meal and considering how busy the cafe was, we didn't have to wait too long. We were surprised by what arrived, 2 thick slices of turkey, mashed potatoes, 2 roast potatoes, 2 parsnips, 2 pigs in blankets, stuffing and gravy. More vegetables arrived - carrots, sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower cheese and extra gravy! With 4 soft drinks, the bill totalled £40 which included a tip.

We visited the Potting Shed as a family of 7 on Monday 4th September for breakfast. Having read the reviews here, we purposely went to look for Manorbier garden centre. We had to use our sat nav as the centre is off the main road and to be honest I didn't notice any signs. On arrival we had to ask inside the centre as the Potting Shed tea room is not immediately visible and is at the rear. However, what a lovely building. Industrial theme and lighting with a mix of normal tables/ chairs and arm chairs/sofas etc. The staff were very accommodating and service was swift. All 7 of us ordered coffees, tea and the largest hot chocolate covered in cream and baby marshmallows you've ever seen! Various breakfasts were served very swiftly (and steaming hot). A large breakfast was only £5.95 and massive. I ordered poached eggs on toast (£3.95) and asked for a side of bacon. I was told this was 50p extra which was fine....but the amount of bacon I had was probably much more than 50p!!

This was a visit for coffee. The seating is relaxed and not on top of each other. The coffee was good and very reasonably priced - £1.80 for a large cup of Americano. There was a good selection of snacks but no sponges available. However, I think they were all bought in. The service was ok and the staff friendly.

We found this place as we were staying at the caravan park next door. As they didn't serve breakfast we took the 1min stroll to this place. It is a delightful setting, well decorated with lovely features and a range of seating, not just tables and chairs. Nice menu and range of food. Staff were very friendly and helpful, so much so we went again the next day and wished we found it earlier. We met people who had travelled our from tenby just to come to this coffee shop.

Wonderful cafe - sat in sunny courtyard and enjoyed delicious fluffy baked potatoes with juicy prawns, the best we've had in years. Great selection of soft drinks too, not just the usual coke and lemonade. Were too full for cake, but have had this in the past and was equally delicious. We'll be back next week! We were joined by one of the friendly dogs for lunch too!

The wild cafe is lovely for kids with the music and scenery around etc and tv cwtch to keep them entertained, menu short for Lunch usual basic stuff- nice food tho and huge portions! Jacket potatoes always taste old tho as If they’ve been standing or reheated.. morning staff weren’t keen on offering a breakfast said if was closed but online it said until 10.30 maybe it hadn’t been updated online but the boys behind the bar just seemed like they couldn’t be asked so we left it, a nice woman tried to offer us a alternative but it had already put me off at the fact they couldn’t be asked

I was excited to try the kiosk after visiting the area on holiday. Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. The server was neither welcoming nor friendly. The sandwiches I ordered were due to come with coleslaw and a side salad. But when I opened the box neither were inside. I’m not very assertive so it took a lot for me to go back in and explain to the server. He said he’d run out of coleslaw but could do a side salad. No apology or hadn’t mentioned this when I placed my order. I wouldn’t have bothered paying over £16 for just two sandwiches. Sadly I didn’t have the confidence to ask for my money back as my anxiety got the better of me, so walked away. The sandwiches were tasty and the bread fresh, but we won’t be going back I’m afraid. Really disappointed. Everywhere else we’ve been had been so friendly with good customer service.
