The best "Proper Pub" in St David's. Good ale and a great atmosphere. No food when we went as the kitchen is closed for the winter.

Lovely pub friendly staff very good beer and food but unfortunately it was over run with dogs. I saw a dog with its paws on the table and another jumped up at the girl serving the food I had to manoeuvre around two dogs to go to the toilets the owners totally oblivious to any obstruction.

St David’s was packed with people and all the eateries in the central area were full. Just a short walk down Goat Street and we found this pub. It was a lovely sunny day so we sat in the pub garden, where there were a few seats available, some under cover. We ordered at the bar in the pub garden (no need to go back into the building) and each had a pint of the local Welsh bitter. We ordered from the specials board and the meat pasta dish and the seafood risotto were delicious. They were busy but we didn’t have to wait too long and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Walk out the back gate and down the slope and you’re at the gatehouse to the grounds of the cathedral.

I've been coming to St Davids for over 10 years now and The Farmers Arms is our favourite place to eat! Food&Beer is great. There's a lovely atmosphere in the pub. However last night whilst my husband was waiting at the bar he couldn't help but overhear the hostility of the two girls behind the bar towards 5 lads (local I assume). He watched as they walked in only to be ignored by the staff. There was sniggers from behind the bar that they'd not get served but eventually one did come and take their order. Another member of staff came over and interrogated the lads about a previous visit to the pub and told them they would not be served after their first drink. Overhearing their conversation the lads were baffled as staff couldn't not give them a reason for this. This unwelcoming behaviour has put me and my husband off from returning the The Farmers Arms, in future visit to Pemborkeshire. The bar staff were rude and very unprofessional towards them. Are locals not welcome during the peak tourist months??

We visited the Farmer’s Arms for our evening meal whilst staying nearby. It was busy but we were served quickly by friendly staff and our food came out promptly. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxed and contained a mix of locals and tourists. We had the ox cheek burger, Welsh burger, plant burger and bacon and cheese dirty fries (generous portion which needed to be shared to be finished). Everyone was really pleased with the portion size and flavour of their meal choice. No photos as we tucked in immediately and forgot. We would certainly return and would recommend others to visit if they are ever in the area!

Booked the restaurant for evening dinner.. Was given a tiny table for 4 of us and asked to be moved as not possible to be comfortable there.. Nobody approached our table with menus so we had to find them, no specials available. Food was below average, had the scampi and chips, the chips were obviously oven chips from local supermarket and had no taste, the scampi was overcooked and miniscule. The pub had no atmosphere and we left as soon as we had eaten and paid. would not recommend or go back there. The menu was the same as all the other pubs, nothing really Welsh about it sadly.

A local pub with regulars, a pool table and TVs for watching sport. Brilliant chap behind the bar - he's got a great laugh. Good selection of drinks as you'd expect - Double Dragons is Welsh and an excellent session bitter on par with Greene King IPA or TT's Landlord. We didn't eat here, but the menu is very similar to The Bishop's so maybe they're owned/run by the same people. Nice outdoor space for when the sun shines. Everything clean and well maintained. Definitely a good place to stop for a drink and the food offering looked good, just check when the kitchen is in action as it may not be an all day affair.

Had the fish basket myself which was lovely, very filling with just the fish and salad. Unless you eat a lot, don't order chips if you don't like wasting food. Only thing we'd complain about was that the waffle we had for dessert was solid in the middle and we unfortunately couldn't finish it. Otherwise, lovely country pub with smiley staff. Would go again.

Firstly, Thankyou Jack and Mike for your warm welcome. My heart is always in my mouth when my husband orders steak 🥩 HOWEVER!!! No need to worry here. His 21 day aged steak from local butcher, Ken Davis was seasoned and cooked to perfection (rare in this case) with huge crispy onion rings, mega chips and beautifully presented side salad. I opted for a children’s portion of local sausages, mash, peas and gravy. All delicious. The, ‘Double Dragon’ ale was sampled and appreciated. The tables are swiftly cleaned between covers. There’s a lovely, cheerful atmosphere here due to the calm, efficient and warm way this pub is run. Thankyou all L&R

Good drinkers pub, food OK, nothing earth shattering or local produce driven, but as a drinkers proper pub, it's got a great atmosphere . Good feeling in the beer garden and a pool table that's well used. Another good point is that the tables don't have reserved placards on to discourage people sitting there. Only downside is that I saw two of the food service staff harassing a couple to finish their meals so they could clear the tables so they could go home, I mean they literally stood over them saying "have you finished yet" which I felt this was totally out of order.

I just ate the best lamb of my life. The Welsh Lamb dish with mashed potatoes, fine green beans and a rosemary jus was OUTSTANDING. I would have paid double the £22 for it. Whoever the chef is, they will go a long way.. the finger sticky pudding was amazing too. I’d love to head back for Sunday lunch but we are leaving today to head home. The girls who hostess and waitress are adorable too. Very helpful and patient. This is an absolute gem. Don’t miss out!

The American Diner has a totally different business philosophy with next to no signage, we had Google maps on and still struggled to find it. It is conveniently hidden inside the Fish and Chip shop, it is red roped off for VIPs only and when you try to enter after triumphantly finding it, you are met by a rude woman that sharply indicates there is no sit down service, or internal queuing it would seem, and that you need to order through the window. Following form, not a single do not enter sign, obviously why waste money on signs when you must be approaching recievership anyway! This is the best review I can give after the way we were spoken too. We did not buy, so cannot attest to the quality, but if they treat the food the way they treat their custom, we dodged a bullet.

This place was a real gem! I spent the month of Sept traveling around the UK and Ireland and happened to be in Tenby on my 40th birthday, so wanted to take myself out to dinner. I was looking for a relaxed vibe but with good food that felt worthy of a "birthday dinner," even though I was traveling solo. I really lucked out with this place! The owner was there and his son was tending bar and I could have talked to them all night. So friendly and fun! The woman who brought my food and took my order was so attentive and accommodating even though I was eating downstairs instead of in the main dining area (upstairs). Excellent service!! I ended up chatting with a lovely couple with an adorable dog all night, drinking wine, and eating fantastic scallops...my birthday dinner couldn't have been better. At the end of the night, the owner paid my tab! Who does that?! This was one of my top 10 dining experiences. Everyone should visit Plantagenet House when in Tenby if you want a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, a relaxed vibe in a cool setting, and yummy food.
