Popped in on a quiet monday afternoon. It was a nice day, so we decided to eat outside. Food was great. I'll be coming back

Lovely pub, good service, friendly staff, nice garden and good food. Ideal for couples of families.

Top service from Andrea. I ordered a drink from the fridge and once I had a sip at the table I realised it wasn't cold at all. Went back to the bar to say that, she overheard and sorted it immediately by offering me something else and another one on the house when I was ready. Didn't need to prompt her either, while I was on my last sip she put the next one on the bar for me. Thanks Andrea.

Pub with outside seating area that has a playground, so very suitable for families with children! They also have a great children's menu with plenty of options. We also appreciated the many vegan options on the menu; the vegan 'fish' and chips were delicious! We did find this place a bit pricey, though, and had to make an effort to catch the servers' attention.

Too loud and lairy inside, limited space. Not very family friendly considering there's children's play apparatus outside. We were placed near the bar with our severely autistic 4 year old son, which ended up having a sensory overload episode due to the adults at the bar shouting whilst absolutely drunk. This was around 4pm may I add! We just wanted a nice family meal but ended up leaving after 5 minutes due to it being so loud and my son getting scared. Wouldn't say this is a family venue. We won't be returning.

The potting shed does not serve outstanding food and the prices are a little high considering, but it’s a fabulous location for a relaxed family lunch, dog friendly and superb service.

Had Sunday roast at the potting shed. Nice venue, good atmosphere. Service was attentive but not intrusive. However, there was an incredibly long wait for our food due to a mix up in the kitchen. The waitress was apologetic. When the food did come out it looked a bit lacking and sad and there were bits missing.

Watch out for damp cushions in the garden. I ended up with a noticeably we bum this lunchtime. Good cheesy fries though.

We ate here last night as the food at our hotel wasn't very good. The parking was great and it waa easy to find We had the best pizza we've had for a long time and the value for money was brilliant. It cost half what we paid at our hotel the night before and the quality of the food and service was far superior at the potting shed. If we're in the area again we will definitely be back.

Great pizza stop on a sunny day. Made use of the outdoor ping pong table with the kids.

It was a nice experience. We only went to the restaurant for food and didn't stay in the rooms so cannot comment on those. The staff were friendly and attentive. Service was really quick. The food was presented nicely, tasted good, and portions were a good size. There was a varied menu so you could find something to eat for most dietary requirements. It was a tad on the expensive side in my opinion, which is why the rating is 4/5*. We went for the 5 plates for £32 between 2 of us which was a good amount of food. There was lots of free parking available. Inside the restaurant was clean and rustic. Quite pretty with the decor. There is a nice outside area too. It was busy but not too loud that we couldn't hear what members of our group were saying. There were kids there so I'd say yes it's family-friendly.

Be prepared to remortgage your house if you want to eat here, staff were friendly, the wine was nice, the food was distinctly average and the furniture looked like something even my nan would throw away. There was a dragonfly stuck in the window, this was a highlight.

Lovely pub and restaurant with a big garden and play area. More of a food place with a small bar area. Recommend for families and couples. We also saw a small wedding while we were there

One of the best places for food and drinks when the sun is out for sure ! I do feel like the menu has become over crowded with choice now though and subsequently making the quality slip.

Service not great, fish not great, location lovely

Would love to rate higher as the food and drinks are lovely. However, I visited last week and ended up with four new tyres due to nails from their car park. Not worth it.

I went 2 Saturdays in a row for a coffee with a friend ,first time very friendly, the gentlemen were good,the 2nd time ,very disappointed, ladies were unfriendly that were serving, as if they were doing us a favour, especially the short lady with very short hair

Lovely looking interior and exterior. Food good. Cobra on tap. Climbing frame for kids. Tables for all sizes. Staff alright. Garden rooms and a pleasant patio.

Not the best. Starters are fried to within an inch of their life and all taste the same. Steak with prawns was ordered medium rare and came well done without prawns. Took another 15 minutes to get the correct steak. Scallops were nice but were lost in a watery bowl of nothing with fries on the side. Also witnessed a chef wipe his head of sweat with tissue and continue to prepare food without washing his hands. With an open kitchen I’d suggest stringent hand washing routines. Wouldn’t go again for food but would go for a drink

Had a lunchtime meal for two. Very welcoming with staff happy and polite. Waiting time for food was perfect. The meal was very tasty and well presented. Will be recommending and returning.

My husband and I dined at The Potting Shed for the first time last night and were unimpressed. We were left standing at the door for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Then brought to our wobbly table which was promptly shimmed with one of our paper menus by the staff forcing us to share the remaining one. It took a while to get drinks ordered and delivered so we ordered our entire meal when those came and a second round as the meal came. The appetizer served in a bowl covered in paper like at a burger stand, sat at our table for twenty minutes after we had finished it. The couple next to us left their finished appetizers piled up at the end of their table escaping the notice of several passing servers. My husband’s burger was passable and the chips were good but my duck was overcooked and tasteless, the asparagus wilted to mush and the potatoes dauphinois dried up and cold. I chose the dish for the cherry anise sauce which was tasteless when I found some under the asparagus. In summary, an overpriced, badly presented meal that was mostly tasteless. A 12% service charge was added and we were barely acknowledged by the staff who I wouldn’t describe as particularly friendly. We had hopes for this restaurant as it was recommended to us and close to our new home in the area but unfortunately we will not be coming back.

The potting shed is stunning to look at and pleasant to be in. The hot chocolate was bland and lukewarm, nothing special just powder and water. The staff were accommodating and friendly, notifying us we had missed breakfast by 10mins (11am finish) menus for food would not be given out untill 12pm. I do think this restaurant is on the pricey side so not sure if we will frequent often.

Superb establishment, with awesome rooms and facilities, and very tasty food delivered with helpful service by Jack.

The food was very nice served in lovely surroundings, our server was called Michaela who was very helpful & didn't stop smiling, a great experience.

The food was great even with a slight mix up with the potatoes on my dish. Jack sorted it out without any fuss and he looked after us very well, including keeping up a commentary on the England game as we were sat away from the TV.

Twenty minutes to be served with drinks. Thirty five minutes for starters to arrive Another twenty five minutes for mains to arrive. No veg with the meals, so ordered veg as extra sides £5.50 for three spriks of broccoli, and £5.00 for the same in carrots. Rib eye probably the worst I have ever been served, the duck was over cooked, the lamb shank was very salty. Some may have good meals here, others have bad this was definitely bad £388.86 wasted on food for eight.

Went for a pub meal in the evening with my two sons and granddaughter. We had a very nice meal two of us had pasta, one beef burger and a duck breast. There was a bit of a queue to be served food at the bar, but they did add extra staff to speed things up and I only had to wait a few minutes.

Yummy breakfast, service and welcome excellent. Andrea and Michaela very efficient, happy and setting excellent.

Great location, great food for a Sunday meal or any day meal. The only thing to warn is about the very narrow entrance to the car park. Plenty of space in the car park but entry and exit points are the same for two cars to pass.

Loved the decor and the food. A great little find.

Went for a birthday meal, had the tagliatelle. It was the best pasta meal I've ever had, despite going to Rome! Very spacious and well decorated indoors and out.

Never been here before until yesterday and had the best experience ever the food is great and we didn’t wait long for it. It was all freshly made. The staff were lovely it’s Lovely decor inside it will be great for the summer and it’s also got a little play area outside for your kids

Another superb visit to the Potting Shed for a catch up with friends. Big welcome at the door and offers of help to move a few chairs around. Excellent food, very attentive and friendly service , lovely ambience and the birthday prosecco went down a treat- thank you. My self and my friends are already planning our next visit there. Thank you to all the staff on Thursday 13th at 12 to 4 , especially our welcoming Romanian hostess- sorry I've forgotten your name -(blame my age) who was ably assisted by friendly Gracie.

First of all long queue and the staff no communication at all , I ve been by the bar for 15 minutes and tried to ask something ,nobody answer and then food comes out after a long time with a hair in my meal , worst experience ever..

A really nice restaurant with a great local menu! Of note of the menu is a wide selection of food to cater for anybody. The prices may put some people off but the portion sizes are big and the food is delicious. I had the pork Souvlaki kebabs for main which came with an irresistibly spiced sumac yoghurt to dip in. A special mention to the sticky toffee pudding, but a shame it doesn’t come with the custard. I’ve been here twice now and would definitely go back again!

Really enjoyed the style and decoration of the place, inside and out. The garlic bread with onion and brownie were both delicious. Our waitress Grace was also excellent and attentive.

But out of the way but that's part of it's charm. Lovely food, fantastic inside and outside spaces, big car park... although it's always full as so popular.

Came here for dinner and drinks. Service was excellent, setting was amazing too with a huge garden. Food was a let down, all sharing starters were tasteless and unimaginative, main of the pork souvlaki was dry and overcooked. Shame, perhaps too many items in the menu

Following today’s visit we deeply disappointed with the recent decline in the quality of food , portion sizes and overall customer satisfaction at what was once a fantastic country pub. It is disheartening to witness a decline in standards that were previously upheld with great pride. One of the most noticeable issues is the waiting staff attitude and reduction in portion sizes. It is evident that the pub has made a conscious decision to cut back on the quantity of food served. As a loyal customer, I have always appreciated the generous portions that were once synonymous with this establishment. However, the recent changes have left us feeling short-changed and dissatisfied together with the fact that we were made to feel as second class customers just because we were sitting at a terrace table (not the lawn tables) and we were asked to order our food from the bar , get our own cuttlery and sauces even though paying the included service charge same as the other customers serving food inside . Personally I think that if this establishment wants to keep their regular customers they should review the skills of some of the waiting and serving staff .

Really lovely place out in the country. Stopped for a Sunday roast before crossing the channel. Service was brilliant, super friendly. Roast was very tasty as was the pizza. Bread was stale, which was unfortunate. Great ambience and beautiful setting.

I don’t think I’ve ever had service this bad before, staff made me feel like I was in trouble for something and most of the girls barring a couple had a really nasty attitude, we were being blanked by multiple staff while trying to order, there was no table service at all. Honestly I didn’t want to pay the discretionary tip!

Good food and lovely restaurant. I eat here once a year with my mum and sister. Food is tasty but pricey. I dont think it’s 100% value for money but it’s a nice place.

Lovely location with a great beer garden and play area for the kids. Visited on a quiet Monday lunch time and order some steak sandwich's, which was a disappointment as they were severed cold and raw which wasn't to our liking as the meat was tough and flavourless. The kids pizza was a lot nicer and the service was great. I am worried about a next visit will probably not order food. A lot of outside space and EV Charge points in the parking area.

We just discovered the place and we are impressed. The warm weather it makes the place even better; plenty of tables in the garden that also have a nice space for children to play while waiting for food. Great food as well! The place is clean and well maintained ( inside and outside). Highly recommended!

The pasta was so sour and when we asked the waiter told us that it’s made with lemon and white wine, first it was not written on the menu and it’s too much lemon! Too sour The lamb was supposed to be slow cooked but it’s so dry and not melting. The taste and combination was soso and just not right The chicken breast was super dry and that’s about it The salmon pizza was again sour! Not tasty at all The fish was the only ok dish Overall it’s overrated It’s the third time I visited and food gets worst! The renovation and service is great but the main thing, food, is not right

Stayed in Little Griggle for 4 nights in May 2024. Much bigger than I expected. The decor was lovely and the bed was incredibly comfortable. You couldn’t adjust the temperature and I couldn’t make the Bluetooth speak connect to my phone, I didn’t need it. The shower is excellent. The room lacks enough storage for clothing. Staff were responsive to my notification that the TV stopped working.

Really nice pub/restaurant. Had nice time and really good food. Well located and close Leeds Castle. I suggest it if you are travelling in that area.

Great food and lovely environment. Went for lunch. The pizzas are Fantastic and wood fired. I had the spiced lamb kebab which was awesome. Looking forward to our next visit! Highly Recommend.

Fed up with Premier Inns. wanted something different. Lovely welcome. Room is great value and very quirky. Definitely recommend for business. Great food with a lot of choice at reasonable prices.

Had a lovely meal here on Tuesday evening - Our waitress and the bartender were super friendly. I had the Shell on Prawns (Could have used some rustic bread as an accompaniment) and the Ribeye Steak (Cooked beautifully with great trimmings). The garden looked like it would be a magnificent place to visit on a hot summers day.

I've been here several times, and enjoyed every visit, the food is delicious the staff friendly, and it's just a beautiful place to eat

Lovely place outdoors in the summer or indoors when it's colder. My only downside is the food isn't as good as some of its sister locations such as The Farmhouse.

Does anyone else think 2 breakfasts and 2 drinks is worth £45??? Please bare in mind that the breakfast isn't fresh! It's all pre-cooked! Does anyone else think that elite pubs are getting a little too big for their boots?

Staff were working hard but it lacked atmosphere in my opinion. Large open room with tables felt more like a canteen than a restaurant. Average food.

So disappointed today we arrived after our segways at Leeds castle for our 1.30 reservation for 9 people and we were unable to park as the car park was full! But we'll be back , one day

Had dinner with 12 here during our holiday. What an amazing food! Great choice in dishes for both the conservative and more adventure minded foodies. The cooks here have a good nick for combining flavours. Really great service also. Desserts were very tasty.

Stayed here and its was amazing, the accommodation was fantastic and the staff are soooo friendly and helpful. Would 100% stay again.

Terrible service. Barlady just yelled at me to move along then. Bar then proceeded to serve everyone out of order even though there was a clear queue. When told there was queue she shrugged and said she didn’t care. The proceeded to call waiting customers idiots to her colleagues. Used to be a good pub with nice food, been coming here a while but won’t bother if that’s how they treat people who pay for their service

The pub was very nice. Didn’t enjoy the fish and chips. Have eaten plenty of fresh fish in my time and this fish ( definitely not cod) was frozen was watery and not thick and flakey and had a frozen taste to it.

Another great visit to The Potting Shed for my niece’s birthday breakfast. Great food and lovely staff. Andreea couldn’t do enough for us! Fab.

Enjoyed a great breakfast at the Potting Shed, we had the full English and eggs benedict which were both excellent. We were served by Andreea & Stacey who were both friendly and looked after our needs. We will come back again!

Food was insane! We had lots of wood fired pizzas on our table and the pork Souvlaki kebab. A strong 10/10, if you are a foodie like me, this is one to visit. Jack, the lovely gent who served us our food was spot on with his recommendations. I wouldn’t have chosen the sticky toffee but he persuaded and I did not regret it! Thank you so much! We do not live nearby but will be visiting again this year for sure. xXxXx

I love the Potting Shed and have frequented it many times. The food is always super tasty and the staff really friendly. On this occasion I was visiting with my mother and my 10-month-old daughter who was getting very upset to due to being 10 months old and many things make them cry. I’d like to make a special mention and thanks to Michaela & Andreea who took it upon themselves to come over and try to comfort her and entertain / distract her while we try to scoff down our yummy meals. I really appreciate the assistance and it did make things easier to handle as a screaming and upset child is more challenging and disrupting for the parents than it is for the other dining guests. It's a shame you’ve got rid of the Korean Piggy pizza ☹

Had a lovely family meal here food was very good especially the lamb! Our waitress Vicky was lovely 🤩 great with the children. Will be returning very soon to try the pizzas.

After we had been let down by our caterers for a planned gathering, we contacted The Potting Shed asking if they would be able to cater for us, and with just 15 minutes notice on a busy Easter Monday, manged to feed and provide refreshments for 40 people and park 20 cars in their car park. Staff were friendly, the gardens were lovely and clean and well maintained, the venue was really nice and the food and drink was ideal. Thank you so much for looking after us at such short notice. Such s lovely little pub. Done a fantastic job of taking us in for breakfast with about half an hour to spare on their times. There was about 40 of us due to our first car club meet being located at a different venue and they let us down on the catering side of things. So after a quick phone call to these guys we moved locations to here. Lovely little venue and the breakfast was so tasty! Will definitely come back again. Loads of car parking to the rear with outdoor space to sit if the weather is on your side! Little playground to entertain the kiddies too. Just great ticks all the boxes. Thank you to the Potting shed and all their staff 😁😋

What a find! Our regional classic car group rang and spoke to staff to squeeze us In on a very busy bank holiday Monday to feed our members breakfast following on from being let down by our original caterers. With just 15 minutes notice we arrived and were greeted by friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent and decor of the place was beautiful. While we waited or food (which wasnt long at all considering how busy they were) my children used the climbing equipment in the garden which was very handy to keep them occupied. The grounds were tidy and car park was huge, absolutely perfect for our 20 cars. So a huge thank you to The Potting Shed. You literally saved our breakfast car meet. 5 star and will definitely visit again!

Elite pubs do a really good job. Went on a busy bank holiday Monday and the service was relatively good. Food was great and everyone was happy. Another positive experience at elite pubs.

After being let down by a local cafe we phoned The Potting Shed to see if they could accommodate 20 cars for a local car breakfast meet. Despite being extremely busy and with only 15min notice they welcomed us in, gave us the bar area and we were all well fed and watered. Breakfast was good, service was great and will definitely be back again!

Visited here for Easter lunch. Food was great and service (although a little slow) but propbably to be expected for Easter Sunday was good. Well worth a visit! The fillet steak was cooked perfectly amd coffee is also great. Polly who looked after us was great!

I was treated to the most fantastic breakfast for my birthday on the 22nd March. We both had the full English and can't recommend it highly enough. They make there own black pudding which has apple in and tastes amazing. I also had one of...

An enjoyable Sunday Lunch. We'll cooked food and generous portions. Table service was a little erratic at times though.

We went for lunch and even though the restaurant was busy we were served swiftly. We had the Pizza with prosciutto and nduja and it was delicious! Highly recommend it! Stefan was very friendly and welcoming!! Thank you

Great full English and Gardener’s breakfasts had with coffee, warm welcome and attentive service from Andrea and team in a lovely, comfortable setting.

Very relaxed lunch in pleasant surroundings. Menu is quite extensive and I plumped for a burger. It was fresh and juicy and the pickled red cabbage was a very nice accompaniment

As always, great service with a smile from Michaela and Andree, breakfast is good, loving the pancakes with a side of black pudding 😋 … recommended 👌🏻
