Really nicely interior designed big open air pub with huge bifold windows letting in lots of light onto a sunny terrace. Huge big grassy garden with picnic tables. Friendly and fast service, great tasty quality food and local wines. Beer selection was quite boring, almost entirely big corporate lagers etc because the one IPA was off. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Good WiFi.

A couple of the staff in the restaurant are lovely. However this is sadly negated by one in particular who is UNBELIEVABLY rude, and another who appears to have aspirations to emulate her work. The food is quite nice but it seems their recuitment of quality staff leaves a lot to be desired. This diminishes the experience to a 1 star for us, particularly given the pricing, which is on the expensive side.

The potting shed is a tale of two parts. It's small, cosy, and warm in the winter, but in the summer, its outdoor space is huge and has an extra bar where you can order drinks and burgers. From season to season, the food doesn't change much, but it's always great quality and cooked well, not your usual pub grub. Pizzas are fantastic. They have a wood fired oven. Decor is lovely, as you can imagine it has a Potting Shed vibe. I'd recommend going, but choose your visiting wisely. If you want lively and buzzing, choose a spring/summer day, take the kids, but if you want lively and cosy, go for autumn/winter. The staff are great, and the drink options are even better.

Over priced and over hyped for what I was served today. The fresh bread was more stale than fresh and £20 for half a duck breast some potatoes is steep when the duck is poorly cooked. I couldn’t be bothered to complain as I don’t think I’d of got anything better as I actually think this is their level. Looks good in photos but the service was poor and so is the food.

I actually wanted to give a 5 star review until I had a night's sleep. It is a terribly bad bed/mattress, I immediately got back pain. It is a cute and romantic house, spacious bathroom with all standard amenities. The walls are made of wood and have a connecting door. So you can turn 2 rooms into 1. A day later the neighbors arrived, they were not noisy and had the TV on, you could literally hear everything. Very poor sound insulation. They placed the TV in the wooden partition wall, everyone knows that wood is a bad sound insulator. The two basic principles of a good night's sleep are a good, comfortable mattress and no noise pollution. Cleaning is not done every day. If a good mattress is not important to you and you cannot be disturbed by the neighbors or TV noise, then this is a really nice ambiance / guesthouse.

The food as usual was delicious today. BUT the potting shed is not wheelchair friendly. You need to ask the staff for a ramp to use the toilet. Then when you get to the actual toilet, there is a step so it cannot be accessed if you can’t walk. There is only two women’s toilets for the whole place. The few disabled parking bays were full so we had to park in the main car park, then wheel my mother down the road where the cars come in out. Which felt very unsafe. It’s a bit of a hill to get into the gateway too. Such a letdown for what we hoped would be a lovely Mother’s Day meal for my mum. She hasn’t been out for three months and this day turned out to be stressful. She felt she was a burden and not at all what we intended for her. What a disappointing day.

On Sunday my family planned me a lovely birthday lunch here, and it was lovely. Food was amazing and overall the service from all but one memeber of staff was fantastic. The pub itself was clean, modern but also not forgetting the old pub feel. I loved it! Unfortunately the service from one of the bar maids was horrible and left me feeling a bit rubbish in my birthday. She looked like she wanted to be anywhere but there and spoke to me and my family so rudely. I asked if they served Malibu and she bluntly said no and rolled her eyes at me. She didn't offer me an alternative and just stood there staring at me until I picked something else. At first I thought she was joking but she continued to be miserable. After I ordered our drinks at the bar, she didn’t say anything else to me, she slid the drinks over, handed us the card machine and waited for us to walk away without even a thank you. She continued to be rude to other members of my family too. I would definitely go back here and would recommend to everyone.

We booked the Potting Shed to celebrate a few birthdays within the family, but we did not use the hotel facilities only the restaurant. The servers were extremely accommodating throughout each course we had through the evening. The food was exceptional and very well cooked. The one complaint we did hear was the soup being a little too sweet but nonetheless everyone enjoyed the starters! The pork belly bites were juicy and the glaze was super tasty! The roasts went down a treat, especially with the complimentary mint and mustard sauces! The beer tap selection was quite good: cobra, peroni, Guinness etc. The pricing of the drinks themselves were also relatively good! Would 100% recommend to anyone that enjoys good food, good service and an amazing atmosphere! Thank you to the Potting Shed Team!

Food and service were OK, very overpriced. Plus the EV charging price was extortionate. I appreciate the costs will maybe be dictated by the company that manages the EV chargers but it really reflects badly on the venue as it comes across as greed when the food is already overpriced. Appalling service - don't ever go on a Monday lunchtime (yesterday). To cut it short: Arrived about 1.30pm, offered table in fairly empty "shed", cheek by jowl with youngsters (we're both old crocks). Asked for alternative and pointed to the whole shed. We chose next to the servery, good choice as it was warm. We chose our wine (tasty malbec), and took ages over choosing the food (I admit). A tall impressive young man took our food order. This is where it started to go bad - its a long menu and I found it difficult to interpret. I ultimately decided to have 2 starters, offering in mitigation that I couldn't nowadays eat a lot, to be told by the young man "you won't be wanting the chips it comes with then". Shocked, I just smiled and said well, yes, I do want the chips - just as well, as they were the only item on the menu I could authentically praise .I'll put my comments on the food at the end, because it was the awful, awful service that took me aback. The food arrived, we ate. My companion found he couldn't manage his main course and wanted  to ask for a doggy bag. After waving madly at one end of the shed to get a waiter, he tried using his voice, nothing.  After a bit, I noticed a young woman at the other side of the shed and managed to attract her attention (she had come over earlier to ask if the food was ok, it was ok, only ok, but the only thing I could praise was the chips, so I did). The staff were behind me so I didn't see this, but he told me that the guy appeared extremely interested in another female (?waitress) and was totally occupied in his interactions with her.The other young woman arrived, produced a doggy bag and left. My companion loaded it up himself and, to my horror, the waitress appeared almost instantly to ask if we wanted anything else and on being told no (at that time we didn't, my companion had already ordered a second wine)  brought the bill! I have never, ever, had a restaurant in the UK bring a bill unasked. It totally ended our meal, with a bang. Clearly we had offended somebody and our custom was no longer wanted. So we paid and left. The food: halloumi fries - ok he told me. wild mushrooms on sourdough, parmesan and truffle oil. thick slice of bread, tiny amount of mushrooms, cream and parmesan apparent, no flavour of truffle oil at all. I wouldn't bother with it again as major impression was of huge amount of stodgy bread with creamy mushrooms.     came with a salad which was tasty, I liked the radish slices, the leaves were fresh and tasty and the lemon dressing complemented it beautifully. coriander cured salmon, cherry tomatoes, avocado, bloody mary dressing. smallest amount of cured salmon possible, shaved so thinly you could see the plate through it, covered less than half of the plate. No coriander flavour. cherry toms - tasty, avocado - too little to comment o. n. bloody mary dressing - there wasn't any, it was notable by its total absence. chips - which the waiter told me came wth the salmon: french fries. excellent. freshly cooked, hot, crispy and salted. I ate the few I wanted and left the rest as my companion wasn't interested in chips. gressingham duck breast, gratin potatoes, green beans, cherry and anise saucemy companion made absolutely no comment about this, which I find odd. The gratin potato went into his doggy bag, as did half of the duck breast. It looked pretty. I wasn't going to ruin what was left of the ambiance of our nice lunch by asking a question which I thought might not have a positive answer. Wine - a malbec, really nice. I always have a single ice cube in mine, which sometimes gets forgotten, It wasn't. Having had another look at the menu, I am now concerned about the chips - which are listed as an extra. If my companion was charged for them, he shouldn't have been. I didn't ask for chips. The waiter said the salmon came with them - at least that's what I thought I heard. And although they were good, I only ate the few I wanted and the rest went back to the kitchen. All in all - an experience I wouldn't care to repeat.

There was lots of free parking available. Inside the restaurant was clean and rustic. Quite pretty with the decor. There is a nice outside area too. Not the best. Starters are fried to within an inch of their life and all taste the same. Steak with prawns was ordered medium rare and came well done without prawns. Took another 15 minutes to get the correct steak. Scallops were nice but were lost in a watery bowl of nothing with fries on the side. Also witnessed a chef wipe his head of sweat with tissue and continue to prepare food without washing his hands. With an open kitchen I’d suggest stringent hand washing routines. Wouldn’t go again for food but would go for a drink

My husband and I dined at The Potting Shed for the first time last night and were unimpressed. We were left standing at the door for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Then brought to our wobbly table which was promptly shimmed with one of our paper menus by the staff forcing us to share the remaining one. It took a while to get drinks ordered and delivered so we ordered our entire meal when those came and a second round as the meal came. The appetizer served in a bowl covered in paper like at a burger stand, sat at our table for twenty minutes after we had finished it. The couple next to us left their finished appetizers piled up at the end of their table escaping the notice of several passing servers. My husband’s burger was passable and the chips were good but my duck was overcooked and tasteless, the asparagus wilted to mush and the potatoes dauphinois dried up and cold. I chose the dish for the cherry anise sauce which was tasteless when I found some under the asparagus. In summary, an overpriced, badly presented meal that was mostly tasteless. A 12% service charge was added and we were barely acknowledged by the staff who I wouldn’t describe as particularly friendly. We had hopes for this restaurant as it was recommended to us and close to our new home in the area but unfortunately we will not be coming back.

The food was great even with a slight mix up with the potatoes on my dish. Jack sorted it out without any fuss and he looked after us very well, including keeping up a commentary on the England game as we were sat away from the TV.

Twenty minutes to be served with drinks. Thirty five minutes for starters to arrive Another twenty five minutes for mains to arrive. No veg with the meals, so ordered veg as extra sides £5.50 for three spriks of broccoli, and £5.00 for the same in carrots. Rib eye probably the worst I have ever been served, the duck was over cooked, the lamb shank was very salty. Some may have good meals here, others have bad this was definitely bad £388.86 wasted on food for eight.

Went for a pub meal in the evening with my two sons and granddaughter. We had a very nice meal two of us had pasta, one beef burger and a duck breast. There was a bit of a queue to be served food at the bar, but they did add extra staff to speed things up and I only had to wait a few minutes.

Great location, great food for a Sunday meal or any day meal. The only thing to warn is about the very narrow entrance to the car park. Plenty of space in the car park but entry and exit points are the same for two cars to pass.

Went for a birthday meal, had the tagliatelle. It was the best pasta meal I've ever had, despite going to Rome! Very spacious and well decorated indoors and out.

Another superb visit to the Potting Shed for a catch up with friends. Big welcome at the door and offers of help to move a few chairs around. Excellent food, very attentive and friendly service , lovely ambience and the birthday prosecco went down a treat- thank you. My self and my friends are already planning our next visit there. Thank you to all the staff on Thursday 13th at 12 to 4 , especially our welcoming Romanian hostess- sorry I've forgotten your name -(blame my age) who was ably assisted by friendly Gracie.

A really nice restaurant with a great local menu! Of note of the menu is a wide selection of food to cater for anybody. The prices may put some people off but the portion sizes are big and the food is delicious. I had the pork Souvlaki kebabs for main which came with an irresistibly spiced sumac yoghurt to dip in. A special mention to the sticky toffee pudding, but a shame it doesn’t come with the custard. I’ve been here twice now and would definitely go back again!

Visited on a Thursday evening and it was dead, only 6 people including us. Had some chicken kebabs and the chicken was nice but overall it was nothing special. It came with a tiny salad and a very small rice portion with the chicken having 5 cubes. Had a couple of soft drinks and came to £39.00 including a service charge! Went here 3 years ago and it was fantastic place, now I will not return as generally poor. No atmosphere, small portions and overpriced, far better restaurants nearby.

6-Star Service from Jake! I had the pleasure of being served by Jake at Nando’s today, and I genuinely wish I could give him 6 stars! He’s a very good-looking young man who welcomed me with a warm smile and turned the wait for my food into a pleasant experience. He even offered me some sauce to go with my order, again with that friendly smile. Jake, you made my visit feel special—your team and your family should be incredibly proud of you. Well done!
