Hello friends, I have wanted to visit the Tavern for a long time and today I did with my friends. Everything was very tasty and the organization was at a high level. Anyone who wants to have fun and go to something Bulgarian abroad, this is the place. Highly recommend❤️❤️❤️

We had a lovely Christmas their was lovely food lovely atmosphere friendly staff all smiling and polite the sea food platter i had was absolutely brilliant the singer and the live music was very good and probably the best I've heard I recommend to everyone who sees this!!

The food was much better than an average restaurant back in Bulgaria. Had a traditional bulgarian salad, chips with feta on top and the meat served on a hot plate (sach). Everything was amasing and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely go back again. Please restock more bulgarian beer :)

This restaurant is one of the best places which we recommend to anyone who wants to try Easton European food. The atmosphere is really nice and make you feel like your in Bulgaria. So exited,the portion are really good size and definitely meet the value for the price. Saturday night the live music was super and the atmosphere was very friendly. The waitress was amazing and repayable I recommend that Seafood Platters. I am so excited can't wait for my next visit.

I am a regular customer. I have already tried everything on the menu! Highly recommend Starter platter(breaded cheese, mozzarella bites and chicken fingers), Seafood platter, Beef Ribeye Steak, Mixed grill, etc. Food is prepared with love and attention to details, very delicious. Service is amazing and staff is smiley and always friendly, owner is great. I love coming with my friends over and over again. Highly recommend

Food is so bad I felt sick after 30min leaving restaurant. Reply to owner: I was a other guy who wasn’t drunk and had non alcoholic drinks. I usually don’t make reviews but because you had so awful food and fake 4.5 star reviews I had to warn others 😊 If I’m unhappy customer why atmosphere is given 5 stars? Because only atmosphere is great there nothing else!

We decide to visit and have a meal for my husband’s birthday as we visited the area. We found ourself in a peace of land of Bulgaria. The food was real / for those who can make a difference :) / and scrumptious food. Admirations to the cook 🧑‍🍳 The portions were big enough to take some food home. The owner made all to be sure we were served on high standard. Highly recommend this restaurant . If you like delicious food with Mediterranean taste you will not be disappointed.

you are probably tired of noisy places, but here the only noises are from the music and from the food sizzling on your plate, the place where I call home, probably the cleanest place, with excellent food, service of high quality, with the most primitive people, and probably the most skilled cooks, we will definitely come back soon Xxxx

Ok.. saddens me too write this ..but we have been several times historically and taken the family we would travel just for this restaurant it was authentic layout cultural decor and authentic bulgarian menu the food was awesome hence many visits....alas this was not the case when we went on Saturday 25th may 24. The food was truly disappointing, portion, layout and combo was just not right . Menu was a subject for Confused.com advertising authentic bulgarian yet lrg amount greek n romainian and bulgarian all written in English authenticity out of the window I'm sorry guys but very very dissatisfied and extremely disappointed 😞..alas to say won't return in a hurry.. please please turn it bk to authentic bulgarian .. other customers were not impressed and left leaving half the food ....

My family and I often dine at the Mehanata restaurant because the atmosphere, food and service are absolutely top notch. I strongly recommend that we have been visiting this restaurant for four years now.

We had lunch with my colleague. The food was so delicious and the atmosphere was so Bulgarian. The prices are reasonable.

I did not like the place. In particular, the food and its presentation were not tasty. The meat was burnt, and the lavash was hard and it was not comfortable to eat it. I do not recommend it.

Milena the owner and our waitress were both very kind and welcoming. Food was good and top notch service. Highly recommend for both celebrations and a dine out.

Our Valentines meal. First time to Mexaha and will definitely not be our last. Food 5* entertainment 5* and Sophie the waitress 5*. The owner she was obviously 5* friendly and nice aswell as others which were eating in the restaurant. Sophie recommended the Feta Bites for starters omg they are amazing. We had the mix meat platter for main to share so we could try all the different meats. Absolutely delicious. We could not eat it all so came home with a doggy bag.

We entered the restaurant not knowing what to expect and were immediately made to feel welcome. Throughout lunch the service was super friendly and down to earth ; the choice of eastern European and Greek food tasty and beautifully presented. The room has a good atmosphere, with objects and pictures of Eastern Europe celebrations. We will definitely return to try more items on the menu and enjoy the music and singing which -we have been told- happens in the evenings.

There was hair in my food And we had to wait too long for the order so we would not repeat this mistake to visit the place again

The managers, a man and a woman, are terrible, no culture and manners, they lie to the customers that everything is fresh, but it is not, my child ate chicken cream soup and in the evening he was all covered in pimples, we went to the emergency room and they told me that it was from the food and I guessed that it was exactly from this restaurant because he hadn't eaten anything else but this soup, I wouldn't repeat it, I don't want to poison my family and I don't recommend it 1000%

We were greeted by a kind and smiling waitress who escorted us and presented their menu. She recommended a board with meats for three or four people. We were pleasantly surprised. Our dish was out of this world- Big Mixed Grill. It was amazing. The restaurant inside is spotless clean and smells fresh. Highly recommended!

A hidden gem in Maidstone. We were presented with the art of food in a plate - they cook from fresh and the chef shows all his love and passion in every single plate. Lovely restaurant, romantic place, delicious food - all that including the friendly owner makes you enjoy every moment. Very disappointed! One star is too much! My family and I had a reservation and still, there were no seats for us. We had to wait for 10 minutes to be seated. Also, the food was not good and very expensive. I ordered sautèed potatoes and waited for an hour until I reminded them about my order and after 10-15 minutes they arrived but they were raw and disgusting. I could not eat them and when I let them know they still charged me for it. On the menu, there were no labels for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or even allergies. Very slim options for vegetarians and no option for vegans. I am simply disappointed and do not recommend it. One star is too much for that place!

If you want to feel East European spirit, culture and food this is the place. The food is so delicious and on reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and professional with excellent service. We drove 80 miles to have a lunch in the restaurant and we was so satisfied. Highly recommended 👌

A hidden gem in Maidstone. Authentic Bulgarian food perfectly cooked and incredibly delicious. The best pork rib and ox tongue we have had in a while. Hearty service. Cozy setting. Good prices. This will be our go-to whenever we are in the area.

From where to start. This is one of the best restaurants in Maidstone. Staff are great lead by the lovely Milena. All of them are so friendly and kind. The food was very delicious with a nice presentation. The atmosphere is amazing - the decor is in an authentic Balkan style. We had a lovely fun night out, filled with lots of music, dancing and singing. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! Thank you for the great services, as always! If I could I would give more than 5 stars. The food was amazing as expected, arrived hot and quick. The food was well worth the price. The girl singing late at night sounded incredible. I would definitely travel an hour again to visit.

This has to be the best resturant I have ever atteneded. Me and the wife loved it Waayy just ma cup of tea bosh. The atmosphere is great, they have a orchestra on saturday with insurments I don't even know the names of! Honest to go a fantasic resturant with one of the nicest owners I've ever met, this place could easily rival places like mcdonalds, kfc and even Los Pollos Hermanos

This hidden gem right in the centre of Maidstone should be your next meal destination, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you are ever in the area, please check out Mehana, the service is incredible, the authentic food is amazing, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and certainly worth every penny, I intend to return soon.

Went in as a couple around 4pm, we were the only people sitting inside even after we left. Reasonable prices, generous portions though. Meat cooked well and we were able to take away what we couldn't eat. Friendly service, no problems at all. The design of the restaurant is very authentic I felt like I was in Plovdiv again 😄

My wife and I wanted to try something different when we went out for dinner on Saturday night and this place didn't disappoint. The staff were lovely. The food was delicious. The decor and music was traditional Bulgarian. Good pricing on the food too. We only stayed for food but next time we go back we would like to say for Entertainment, traditional singing and dancing

The fact that this place has previously been shut down due to a rat infestation should be reason enough not to go here.

Be careful, on Fridays and Saturdays you are charged for ‘live music’, whether you want to listen to it or not. The music is very loud and you can’t even hear yourself talking, let alone the people you are trying to have dinner with. The food was good, but you can’t buy wine unless you pay for a whole bottle. It was an interesting experience, I don’t think I would want to go back again though.
