The Point Brewers Fayre in Inverclyde

This place was very Disappointingly. Service slow,. Food not good and when I commented when we left the member of staff could not have carer less.

The lady who assisted us was ok, but there was another rude lady talking to us while we needed an explanation about the kitchen closing at 7 pm when we have arrived early based on google timings. She was talking to us and suddenly left while talking and telling us it is up to you in a very unprofessional rude way! She did that twice! Had to leave because customer service is very bad and it was too early for us to order in 10 mins because the kitchen will close so early! Highly unrecommended place.

Went in on Monday place was almost empty. Sat at a table and was asked to move as that table was booked. No reservation on table. I said so out of all these empty tables this one reserved . So left felt we were being a hindrance anyway. Staff could do with some training in customer service .

This is a great place for a decent priced carvery on a Sunday. Sadly shutting down soon.

Lovely staff, decent food, could do with a change of menu though.

Went in on bank holiday Monday for some food. Hardly any staff on, and when we went to order food, staff member was quite abrupt. Wanted to order for 2 main meal deal and was told" not on its a bank holiday" then asked if could order from daily specials and was told " they don't start til later but they probably won't be on as it's a bank holiday" we ordered 2 main meals and 2 kids meals and it came to £55. I wouldn't have minded paying this but the kids meals were pitiful.

Lovely pub grub. The staff were very pleasant too.

Had a 1pm booking today online. Turned up. Gutters full of grass. Windows got flaking paint. Just looked awful from the outside so drove away. First impressions means a lot. If they don't care about the outside I'm not to keen to eat there. Just my opinion

Had breakfast, it was good. Janice and Anne were very welcoming.

Very poor service. Had to wait over an hour. Gammon steak was tough and baked potato was dry and withered. Curry was nice. Andrew the Waiter lad was very nice. Very apologetic . Offered us free deserts .

Was no bad, I'd prob go again if I was in the area, rather than go to McDonald's across the road,also a gid view of the harbour, so you might see fishing boats coming and going lol

In for family gathering over Easter weekend, Staff where fantastic went out their way to attend to us, Food was outstanding.

We stayed in the ajoining Premier Inn for 2 nights. On both days the bacon was dry like jerky and the black pudding very oily and did not look appetising, it did taste ok though I didnt finish it. On the second day, we asked for fresh bacon to be.told it had only just been cooked 🤔 it had most certainley been under the heat lamps for a considerable time. We was told they'd do some fresh for us, which when it came was, just about cooked....one extreme to the other. The sausages were delicious however and the pastries very fresh indeed.

Place is a joke. Food was edible at best, nothing against the kitchen. Service ar the bar was woeful. Massive queues resulting in us being late for their last orders? it was open till 11 yet they decided to close at 10? We couldn't realistically "drink up" in time and the POLICE were called!!! Really!! Shocked is an understatement! Upshot is management is piss poor here and service is particularly bad especially with Emma. I'd avoid where possible at all costs. The advertised opening hours are irrelevant, they close when they've had enough.

Good place for Families, or a quiet drink. Friendly staff. Also have a bonus card you can get offers, save points etc..

Hadn't been here for a few years and it's showing it's age. Food was nice but the place could certainly do with a wee spruce up.

Been going there since 2006 and it's not changed much.. It's cheap and cheerful, the service is good, the food is meh. It's clean and comfortable and with the correct expectations it's fine. Go expecting 5 star dining and you'll be disappointed, expect cheap pub food, quickly delivered and you'll be happy. If you are staying next door, again the breakfast is fine, cooked or continental - great value with the correct expectations. My only complaint is that it pretty much closes at 21.00 - if you are staying in the adjacent hotel you can take drinks over but don't expect a late night out. The lady with the pink hair and tattoos was top but I wouldn't like to argue with her. :-)

Decent pub grub. Tasty roast beef carvery.

Bar manager refused to throw out overnight beer that had been sitting in pipes over night . Only pint half is the usual way I'm sure .

Exceptional quality on carvery, the chef is right on his game.

Food was great,although at my table there was a hair in someone's dinner but the lady replaced the meal, I suppose this can happen anywhere everything else was 10/10

A really nice restaurant at reasonable prices and a great view of the Clyde if you can get a window seat.

Lovely, quiet place next to the water, nicely decorated. The food however was terrible. I had a "winner winner chicken dinner" and I lost. The chicken was like salty plastic, in fact, the only palatable thing was my glass of coke. I should have gone to KFC.. sorry, but I will not return. 🤷

Come here sometimes with family we enjoy it. Price's not bad food pretty good, too. My daughter loves the soft play. We always comment on how awful the bathrooms are designed, though.

Really decent carvery on a Sunday. Really decent price. Well cooked. Visit most weeks for Sunday lunch!

What an establishment food was, too die for

Chef at the Carvery attitude very rude to my Grandson today, and the food overdone must have served his time in a very small greasy cafe, I for one will not be back..

Served by Andrew, service was great, food was OK although the table we were seated at was dirty which was disappointing. Not the same without keiron who always went above and beyond.

Don't be late for the carvery, it was awful.

You get what you expect at this chain. Order at the bar from a wide range of food. Quality always good.&

Myself , my husband and two grandsons went to the Point in Greenock for our evening meal , something we've done many times before and had no issues. However tonight was very different, there was one girl behind the bar trying to deal with a queue of people wanting food or alcohol. Watching this was disturbing to me as the girl didn't seem to be getting any help from other staff members, she was getting the job done very well and is a credit to this pub, I was the one getting flustered for her. It's a damned shame for any manager or whoever was in charge allowing this to happen. The queue just got bigger and bigger, eventually someone helped out and the queue was down in no time so how was that not done sooner ?

Sorry, this was possibly the worst food I've ever had, Fish that is chewy is not fresh and a chicken pie that was microwaved from frozen £24 that should've been £10 max

Arrived with my husband... stood behind a lady with her child while staff member fiddled with ipad... for approx good 5 mins There was now about 6 people behind us .. Then off she went,.. no sorry won't be a min, no sorry for your wait.. nothing. Off she went, 3/4 mins later a diff female member of staff first word.. "you got a booking" I said no, she then completely ignored us looked over our heads, anyone got a booking, lady behind us did moved forward while still we were ignored...I take it you have to be rude to work there. At that we walked out.. please don't come back with it was Easter Sunday we were very busy there were empty tables everywhere... the restaurant we then went to was very nice and we not ignored TWICE

Food was lovely would recommend

New spicy chicken wings ordered. However didn't get the blue cheese sauce to go with it. Sharing platter very nice. Unlimited cola bit flat did say to staff but didn't know if they had changed the gas as they never came back to say.

Spoken with staff via telephone. At first she didn't seem interested In providing any help. I asked about what gluten free options they have available. She then told me that she doesn't have time to talk, that I should just go to the restaurant and hung up.

Food was best yet, put of four. Not a good range of beer for the traveler. Local taste catered for. Couldn’t afford a room at £144 pn

Really nice place to eat and drink. Great deal for two meals before six o'clock. It's like buy one get one free. Very friendly staff and service.

Very poor food plus my partner got a mixed grill and the portion was disgusting and we had to wait half a hour for a drink when there was no one at the bar they were all out the back talking never going there again we used to go there regularly now not going there at all very very poor

Waited an hour for food with a 2yr old and 5 Yr old hungry after complaining. It came out cold .

Has a great beer garden looking into the water. A little off the beaten track but worth a visit in the sun

This was only my third visit to the Garden Point, sadly it will be my last, we all had the Carvery which in hindsight would have been better served to the birds outside as there was only 2 choices of meat and looked over heated as the meat was all but dried out, and an almost empty gravy pot luke warm at best. As for the lack of any sides to put on your plate, as most of the dishes were almost empty and cold. Meat or vegetables weren't particularly warm either. I took a couple of stuffing balls, never ate them as I would have needed a jack hammer to split them or risk breaking your teeth on them, not one chef or kitchen staff to cut the meat, it fell upon the bar staff to attend to us, waiting time was horrendous. So next time we have family coming up, we will be giving this place a wide berth. Sorry but this isn't how it was the last time we visited and you'll need a vast improvement to temp us back.

Greeted with a smile and given a great table. The mixed grill was spot on and sticky toffee to die for. Staff were great from start to finish. Already looking forward to my next visit. A great team that clearly work together well.

Beautiful view but worst food I have ever tried. Tried this today while on holiday with kids. Beautiful summer day. Bought 3 meals. Got served salad with dry carrots and cucumber. Burger was dry. Do not recommend for food at all.

Decent food, reasonable prices and friendly staff.

I've taken my kids here for breakfast the past two weeks. It's a great deal where kids eat free with a paying adult. First week there was lots of pastries/pancakes/bagels etc. Second week this wasn't replenished. Having said that, there was great choice for the cooked breakfast, which also catered for myself being plant based. The kids wanted to come back to use the softplay area as it doesn't open until lunch so we returned one afternoon for lunch. Again, I felt like the menu catered well for those on a plant based diet and the kids menu was varied and gave good choice of veggies. My daughter has a dairy allergy and the staff member was kind enough to give her vegan ice cream eventhough it's not on the kids menu. My kids enjoyed their meals, the soft play and I enjoyed my vegan nachos and refillable coffee!

Food ok was better than food at wemyss bay caravan park by miles. Would go again.

Absolute horrendous!! It’s went down hill, food is disgusting .. my mum handed her meal back twice and ended up not having anything at all. Staff were ditsy and no experience at all .. wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, waste of money!!!

Arrived at 11:02 and was told that breakfast ended at 11 was then told to take a seat and we would be served breakfast, we were charged for a full breakfast and we got like 4 items each. Won't be back

Waterfront site with outdoor seating area. Staff friendly and helpful without being intrusive. There is a good menu range and decent choices for children..The food is very tasty and there is a choice of seating options inside. A children's play area is available and importantly, disabled access is very good. I am a frequent visitor along with my grandson so discounts are available. They also distribute vouchers which allow main courses at 2 for 1 prices

I have been staying at The Premier Inn next door , I think all the staff have been marvellous, very friendly, especially Carla and Rachel. I would definitely come back.

This was my first visit and at first I was impressed , we were taken to a small table next to the window so there was a bit of a nice view, but the other bit was the dry Dock for boats . They have plenty parking , plenty tables , plenty staff but after we were seated with the menu we waited over 20 minutes waiting for table service that didn't happen , we went to the bar and was told there that we should have been told to order at the bar . So our order goes in , haddock and chips and loaded chicken wings 25 minutes later we still didn't have it . When it arrived it was delicious but the waiting time wasn't so good , one desert was ordered and to get that and mind it was ordered an hour ago ... we had to go to the bar for that to , and thats when someone decided to clear out table (thankfully) . All the time we were waiting most of the staff were standing at the bar having a drink of some kind and just talking as though there was nothing to do . IF I go back there they had better improve there service or I'll complain to there head office .

Friendly staff with efficient service

Always a good menu here, served by attentive staff. There is easy access and good parking, you might even get a good view of the Clyde while eating through the large windows. Serving Breakfast, Lunchtime and Evening meals .. just brilliant.

2 hrs from ordering & never received any food. Got our money back & left. No explanation from staff. Won't be back. 1 star is actually being kind

Well organised on arrival and even more so when ordering. Recieved food in a timely manner and were very accommodating as we had 2 young children with us. Would not hesitate in recommending.

Visited Brewers Fayre today for the first time in a long while. The food was well cooked and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was very disappointed in the run down appearance of the place. Furnishings and fittings are shabby and the general decor is very tired. Such a pity!. I doubt I'll visit again unless there is a refurbishment. I would happily pay more for food if the surroundings were more pleasant. Such a lovely situation with beautiful views - owners not making the most of the potential.
