Our first time visiting Talacre today and we stopped off for a light lunch at The Point. We opted for pizza and nachos to share between us, and we were not disappointed. Me and my girlfriend visited the pub over the bank holiday weekend, we wanted somewhere to watch the football. Having been in since 1pm, for both food and drinks, around 5.30pm we were asked if we could vacate the table of six we had been sitting at all afternoon, i explained to the barmaid that we would be happy to move to a smaller table to accomodate them as we were still watching the football, she advised that there were no spare tables available. A short while later the barman come over holding a small board, stood over the table and scribbled 'reserved' on the sign and stuck it on the table, saying the table was reserved from 6pm (it was about 5.40pm at the point) i explained that we were happy to move to another suitable table to continue watching the football, to which he pointed to a tall barrell with one stool, i said it wasnt suitable. I felt like they had forced us out of the pub, after spending our money in there all afternoon (£6 a pint btw), we wont be returning and have already spread the word around Talacre to our friends and family. Great little pub, shame about their approach to paying customers.

Every time I call in here it's either great or totally crap... been visiting Talacre for a few years now and have to call in here because there are only 2 pubs on the street, and like I say it's hit and miss Every time! Lyndon the owner has I think his dad working behind the bar? Looks like Mel B off BO SELECTA TV programme!! Anyway he needs some training in dealing in customer's... I called in a week or so ago after a long walk down the beach now it was only 10.55 and they don't start serving till 11.00 so instead of saying sit down I'll be with you in five minutes he shouts " were not open! We've not even finished mopping! " so I turned around and spent my money in the lighthouse instead.

Very disappointed food options very limited to pizza due to lack of staff and only serving until 7pm on a Saturday evening. We so many people leave due to no food service. The pub was very quite which is a shame as this could be a great place, there are plenty of screens to watch sports, the pub was very clean and dog friendly. Hopefully the food choices and later service will improve during the coming season.

Nice little place, stood at the bar for a few mins and got noticed but ignored by a couple of staff chatting and tidying up until a regular stood at the bar and was served quickly, response from bar was, it’s ok we know what he has, he’s a regular! I understand that but what’s to say I haven’t just bought a caravan on the nearing campsite? Which we may consider? Maybe there are other bars a bit more near and hospitable!

First time coming here, and I don't think we will come back. It was a bit of a shambles. We had our dogs with us so had to sit at the other end of the bar, no one greated us or handed a menu. We had to go and look for the menus. When looking at the menu I felt it was very over priced. Just over £8 for a salad! They were closing at 3 so had a limited menu, but no one told us until we went order the food. You order your food at one place then go to the bar to order your drinks. The food was ok but you could tell the chips where frozen not freshly cut. I also noticed that they do pop corn and a tub of that was about £3 and they they wanted £3.50 for a glass of pespi max. Luckily they had 50% off the food. We went there to eat as the cafe next door was closed and there really isn't anywhere to eat.

Always a lovely atmosphere, we always love the lighting in there, due to having a little boy who struggles with Sensory overload and lights can cause a big stress to him, it's so warmly and just the correct lighting. So came here for Sunday lunch last week as had previously been in for just drinks. Love the venue and the eclectic decor. Service was very confusing and haphazard. We had our puppy with us and was told to just go and find a table before ordering. I sat down and other half went to order. I was then rudely told off by a guy about dogs at tables. The puppy was sat on my lap. Only to then discover the guy is not even staff but I did see him talking to lots of folk and collecting glasses later. So after him I stood to leave and was told by bar staff, who'd heard all this, we could sit there but they don't normally allow dogs that part of the venue. So why tell us to go find a table if there's only certain areas you can be with a dog. How are we supposed to know? (or just wait to be abused by one of your regulars) Sat back but was stared at and made to feel uncomfortable continually by this fella who seemed to be well in with the staff. Waited an hour and the veg arrived at table.. Plates still hadn't arrived 10 minutes later so asked one of the team could they put it back to kitchen to keep warm. Plates arrived 5 minutes later with meat on but then veg took 10 minutes to come back. I mean, the food was great and best roasties but I was glad to get out. I didn't feel welcome and was disappointed the bar staff didn't speak to this mouthy guy. I'd go back for drinks on the patio but won't be eating here again. If you do go bring plenty of patience with you. Great well priced drinks and the food is good.. When it arrives and you're OK with regulars thinking they own the place.

After a harty walk, we were looking forward to Sunday lunch. We decided on the roast platter as there were 4 people in our party. Mistake! It was more a veg platter with off cuts of meat and 2 chicken legs taking up the platter. No Yorkshire puddings only a flat cardboard thing cut into quarters. I was gutted when I saw the other customers with nice fluffy Yorkshire puddings who didn't go for the poor man's platter. At £54.99 it was a rip off cheaper o get the full works. Disappointed!

Horrible experience. The owners of this establishment need to complete customer service training. One morning I called in for a drink and to use their loos. Whilst paying for my drink I checked whether it was OK that I had left my car on their car park without paying the charge since it would only take me a couple of minutes to finish my drink. The female bar staff member confirmed this by nodding and saying "I suppose so". I quickly drank up and vacated the car park as promised. Fast forward 23.5 hours and I decided to go here for another drink. Naturally, I left my car on the car park whilst I went for a quick drink, assuming this would be acceptable since it had been the previous day. This time I was desperate to use the loo so I went to the bathroom first. When I exited the loo I was rudely accosted by a grey haired middle aged man and a female member of bar staff who expressed their utter shock I was in the pub. Shouting they inquired how I had been able to enter the pub and told me they were closed until 11am. It was 10.45am and I told them the doors were open so I came in. They spoke to me in an aggressive manner as if to suggest I had broken in! After a short and heated discussion the older grey haired man asked if that was my car he had just put a parking notice on. When I went outside I had a rude note on my car demanding payment for parking. I had only been on the car park for less than 5 minutes, the time it takes to park the car, walk inside and then use a loo. I was intending on having a drink and even lunch here but after the way I was treated I decided to get out of the area altogether. This is no way to treat paying customers. I'm certain the bar staff would have remembered me since I had been twice on the previous day. In the extremely unlikely event I visited again I would use the free 1hr parking spaces nearby on Gamfa Wen or use the Gamfa Wen Car Park which is cheaper at only 20p for 2 hours. This way I wouldn't have to listen to the obnoxious owners of The Point Bar and Restaurant! Ps. If the owners read this then I would suggest you keep your doors locked when you are closed like most normal business owners do.

Sat outside with my dog - heatwave in progress. Sat at the back which is a shared seating area with the ice cream bar. Weeds everywhere, broken glass and nettles. A little girl caught her hand on the nettles and I showed her mum why she was itching her hand as she hadn't noticed. I then told the two young girls serving the ice creams. I said she caught the nettles because she was stepping away from the broken glass. That's a sentence i thought I'd never say about a pretty seaside area! I suggested somebody dealt with them - they looked at me blankly. I went past the next afternoon and noticed it was all still there - and I bet it still is! Shame: nice food and people but that's just not enough.

Let's start with the positives. Great location, has good selection of drinks on tap & in fridges. Food menu offers good selection without having too much on offer. Children's play section with tables as well. The negatives? Can't put a plate or a glass down for 10 seconds without someone coming to ask if you're finished or worse, just lifting the plate with food still on it. This happened 5x times in less than 30 minutes, our kid was playing on the slide and we were asked relentlessly. Seriously, whomever the manager is that pushes this, stop it. Stop it now.

This may be a particular experience for us but judging by the other reviews that is not the case. We walked past the Point after our trip to the beach and asked if we could book a table for the evening, at approx. 6.30pm. We were advised that we didn’t have to book and we could go there at any time up to 8.00pm. So, just before 6.00pm we arrived and I asked the barman if they were still serving food, to which the answer was yes but we had to queue at a different area to place the order, so I bought the drinks from the bar and we sat and decided on our food order. My wife went to the order point at just after 6.00pm. Someone in front of us was being served and ordered their food. My wife started detailing the food that we wanted and the lady stated that the people in front of us were the last order and they were not serving food any more!! So, the moral of ordering any food here is a) find somewhere else, failing that b) ask at least 5 different people and you get a consensus or c) risk it in the same way that we did and then decide to go somewhere else - not great with two hangry kids!!

Staff were very nice only had a problem with the menu we wanted chips instead of rice with our curry and got changed £3 extra said they can't change it ? None of us like rice but she made up a silly rule saying no .apart from that there's lots of rules everywhere.£3 to use the car park even though we had some drinks from the pub .

Pound for pound this is good value. Fast service from pleasant staff. Tables cleared quckly. More cafe than restaurant but this is reflected in the price.

Overlooking Conwy marina, this bar is so inviting, can't say anything about the food as just ordered coffees & larger, but judging by the amount of people having food, must be good.

We called here last year, and 'then' we thought that the place was a little gem, as the food was really good-(we had fish & chips) and the place has been well designed-(style wise) & thought out. Sadly our second visit was quiet the opposite, firstly why exactly are we paying £5 to park in a pub carpark??,..."oh and don't say that they are separate businesses!!", as we saw the fella taking the money for the parking kissing the landlady of the pub a very short time after entering. It gets worse though, the customer service was shocking, we were very rudely 'pointed' where to go for thr menus, we had to get our own set of cutlery, despite numerous staff just standing around, the table was sticky beyond belief, and even the toilet's had issues, both the men's-(and the ladies toilet so I was told) had 'none working' locks, and also the toilet handle for the gents loo was not there, just an ugly bit o' metal. Whatever happened here is very puzzling, as the food we got this time was well cheap, the chips were OK, but the Burger felt like one you'd get as a school dinner..:( To conclude: it's the parking thing that sticks out most, as we had only come there for food, thus why exactly were we charge to park??, as we were not charged the last time we called. We will not be calling again, as there are far too many things wrong here, it's like they don't care anymore, or have given up. Which is a real shame given that it's in such a great location...:((
