Got a takeout, first time I’ve tried Birchwood Spice. Food is as good as anywhere else I’ve been, but the price makes it outstandingly good value for money👍🏾and will be my new eat in or takeout spot from now on 👌🏾. Was very impressed guys thanks. Lee.

Had a pint while waiting for my meal, the food was fantastic as usual, five star ⭐ never disappointed, staff are friendly, and the food is stunning.... In the words of Arnold " I'll be back"

Absolutely amazing food and the staff are so good we had a party of 12 and it was no trouble for the staff everything was hot and served perfect we even had a couple of complimentary sides we will be back

Landlady not the best bit miserable Didn't eat there but the other side of the pub was an Indian restaurant smelt nice and looked lovely food although I never tried it

We love coming here for food. Beautifuly cooked Indian food. You get what you pay for. Staff are very friendly and attentive.

Birchwood Spice are based here, first class Indian Cuisine and Onion Bhaji that are out of this world. A must for Indian food lovers.

Really good quality and super tasty Indian food. Good selection of beers and bottles and spirits. Always got the footy on. Restaurant is separate to pub but ya can sit in pub and eat. Staff are great, really friendly and good service

This is part of birchwood spice and although it's an very nice I probably wouldn't go there unless eating as it is a bit out of my way but still worth a visit if you are local very nice ale

there is a new Indian restaurant using part of the Poacher pub, the food and service is excellent it is called ( Birchwood Spice Pub) there is a varied menu and the price is really good, also the quality of a pint is spot on. the staff in the restaurant bring your drinks to your table as order them. considering your bill is comprised of meal and bar bill, this is an extra service.

Had great Indian meal here. This pub makes the most of it's large bar area showing the football and offering sensible prices then have a Fab Indian meal sit in or takeaway. Ample parking great place two mins off motorway.

The Poacher pub in Gorse Covert Warrington has teamed up with a great bunch of Indian guys to become the Birchwood Spice pub and restaurant. My wife and I have now eaten there on 4 occasions and each time the food and service has been fantastic We recommend you give it a try.

(November) Since my last review, the Poacher has seen a transformation, it is now incorporating a fine Indian restaurant, which also has a takeaway facility. Just when you think it can't get better.!

Forget what you know about the poacher. The bar is split into traditional pub and Indian restaurant and OMG the chef is amazing. I challenge you to not like the food.

Birchwood Spice is a fantastic Indian Restaurant that has taken over part of the pub and is open daily. The food and service is excellent.

There is now an Indian Restaurant based at the Poacher called " Birchwood Spice ". The food was excellent, as was the service. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

What an absolute dive! Despite being in a lovely area of Warrington this is one of the worst looking pubs exterior and interior wise. Also despite advertising on website and all over the outside of the pub that they do food they actually don't! A complete and utter waste of time! Avoid!

I was here today for my friend's baby shower. Haven't been for a while, the pub has been totally refurbished and is really welcoming. The staff are super friendly and accommodating! Will definitely be returning soon and highly recommend.

Very slow service from the kitchen (over an hour), poor communication regarding sold out items. We sent the nachos back to be retopped and it took another 20mins.. Bar staff were pleasant and helpful.

Went to watch the last day of the football season. Bought two pints. A random toddler spills entire pint all over my jeans. Family in question offer some baby wipes, but no apology. Stating “the table Is wonky “. Bar girl offers fresh pint and baby wipes. Manager cancels this as it would drain his beer stocks. Does diddly squat rudely and smugly , offers me nothing in my soaking wet Levi’s and walks off. Been a customer here for 30 years. Will never enter again. Crucifixion is too good for you.

Nice local pub. Food is standard pub food, but what they do is presented well and tastes good. It's not an ale/CAMRA pub, but you should find something you like. Nicely decorated and furniture following the recent refurbushment.

Went twice recently and enjoyed it. Landlord a character. Food catered but exceptional value and served promptly. A mixed grill was huge and cooked well.

It's good but could be cleaned more often. Small kid's area could be larger as 3 years old may get bored quite easily and want to go to the large part which isn't suitable for smaller ones.

Ran out of 2 types of beer in 1 night

The football was on so it was a bit rowdy. Nice refurb though. The menu does not have many vegetarian or vegan options.

Live round the corner but not been in here for about 20 years! Great refurb, lovely atmosphere...families , couples, friends ...quiet tables if you want, tv if you want, good service at the bar, great prices and excellent selection of beer. Good looking simple menu. A good pub we can walk to...happy days!

Good wheelchair access and disabled toilet. Food basic pub grub but hot and presented ok. Service a little slow but an apology was given and we weren't in any rush.

Fairly average local pub. Good sized portions of food.

It was fine. My wife enjoyed her steak and I had the battered halloumi which was nice. The menu is a bit limited.

Nice pub has bands on, watched a brilliant band there called "TheTones." Amazing group, really good music.

Ignorant bar staff that completely ignore you when you’re stood at the bar to serve locals first even though they have been waiting longer. Service is poor at the best of times even when there aren’t many people in. In nearly 30 years of visiting this pub I can honestly say service has never been so bad!

We decided to make the most of the nice evening and went for a couple of drinks sat outside the pub. We then decided to stay and have our meal. We went inside to eat. The food was lovely can recommend the chicken burger and the gammon . Service was great will be going back again soon.

Excellent pub nothing is to much trouble

Its 30 years since I have been in here. Could be another 30 before I go in again. Food not as described. Salad was missing of the burger. Had to ask for it. Bread and butter was bread and some sort of spread, not butter.
