Saturday night and the pub was dead. Sofa was old and ripped,the carpet had seen better days.Beer was OK so was the servise. My first and last visit here.Such a shame as its a lovely old building.There was the smell comeing from the toilet into the bar area. I was very disappointed as been past this pub many many times.

Lovely staff and great land lady

This is a great local pub with a long standing history, the current land lady has just celebrated her 25th year. Atmosphere can go up and down but generally good especially when live acts are performing at weekends. It's quieter mid week. It would be nice if there was food available but there is a kebab/ burger bar in the carpark. Plenty of parking and occasional special events in the summer such as family days, Easter egg hunts etc and of course the staff are football mad so always ready to support local and national treams. New Year is always a good night.

Walked in ordered our drink to then be told it’s member’s only, made to feel very unwelcome.

Working on the local power station and staying up the road from this pub. I thought we would pop in for some food and a drink only to be told it was members only not sure what's going on

My first time in here despite living in the area for more than 15 years. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere, admittedly it was a weekday.

Jacky Ower is stupid. banned for 3yrs cause we cracked open 2 beers(offi) after buying 2 strongbows as no beers on tap due to shortage, which cost more. You are disrespectful and you need to go,But we brought 2 ciders which we don't drink.stupid landlady. Stay away. Change landlady. You will get more business

Made a nice change from my usual haunt, the bluehouse club

I like this place, has pool, the football on TV, nice beer, Claire the barmaid (an old friend of mine) and Jackie 'the governor', worth a visit.

Very dated pub in need of modernisation

Very lovely place, I come here every Sunday or so with my brother for drinks, the barmaid is very friendly and very prompt. Would definitely recommend

Large cosy old fashioned pub with live music on a Saturday.

Yet another good stop over at this pub..always made to feel welcome...nice staff..Good atmosphere..good music :-)

Look the staff have never been anything but friendly and some customers may appear rough but ive never had a problem in here, despite the tired surroundings this is not a bad pub but its tough to give more than 2 stars as the toilets are absolute kazis, there's people in africa saying damn wheres a hole in the ground when you need one. You would also think that tired pub equals dirt cheap prices and then you accept the surroundings but not so here either. There are two good pool tables, good luck finding a non broken cue though... A couple of years ago i remember buying a bag of quavors and on a whim looked at the expiry date, was about 18 months out of date lol

Never judged. Never had any problems. Got plenty of books of you want to sit, read, and not be bothered. Make sure you go to afro Joe's for some jerk chicken goodness.

The staff are wonderful and the karaoke makes for a really good night out, with 2 pool tables and outdoor seating it's got everything I think a pub needs

It serves a nice pint coffee. Food nice people starff nice .Saturday evenings live entertainment. All live football. Wot more do want from pub.

In middle of refurb but friendly lively old pub.great Karaoke nights with Tomkats Road show.

Run for the hills, This pub is a disgrace , Drunken yobs, if you fancy a fight want some drugs or have a discussing Kebab from the stall parked in the car park then at your peril.
