Holiday Inn in Basildon

Lovely staff and great customer service.

Very noisy and charged for parking. Woken at 430am by lorries offloading and repeatedly woken from that time onwards. The trickle air vent covers in the room were missing so it's an open big hole to outside. Noise passes through so constant noise from the busy main roads and deliveries to the service areas. I chose holiday Inn as other reviews seemed okay but this noise issue and missing vent cover was made for another hotel here. Never seen one missing, maybe its deliberate damage by somebody but at a few pounds the hotel should just replace it. Another surprise was the £12 charge for parking. Nothing said during the booking. Should be made clear before booking.

Recently stayed here, visit Basildon oftern and always stayed at other big names in the area. Decided for a change and glad booked Holiday Inn. On arrival staff were present at the front desk and checked in swiftly (oftern issues with other hotels that you wait 10 minutes for someone to come to desk). Checked in with no issues and given room key for 526, paid to upgrade my room which had a fridge, larger bed, sofa and was worth it for a couple of extra pound. Room was spotless, staff very friendly, bar staff very happy and reasonably priced. Had breakfast the next day, both female staff members very attentative and wide selection of hot and cold food. Hotel was great, they can't control the boy races in the car park next door but close your eyes and think of need for speed 😃. Thanks Adam (Stayed 7th-9th March)

Great location, very reasonably priced and well appointed room. Nice to watch the geese on the lake too! Lovely breakfast cooked by chef Sandra and great service from Christina, Adriana and Tracy.

Attended a convention for a weekend. Rooms pleasant and reasonable size. Problem with choosing the Green option of not having the room serviced meant that coffee and milk weren't renewed. Breakfast area airy, great views of the lake, good variety of hot and cold food available, clean. Excellent staff friendly, helpful, unobtrusive. Meeting rooms very flexible in setup options. Hotel was very warm. Room thermostat only went down to 16°. Opening the window increased the volume of noise from immature drivers playing with their car horns.

Great location with some brilliant restaurants and facilities only thing that lets it down is the car park with people using it as a rallying court would recommend a lake view as these rooms are the quickest

I arrived on the Sunday as was Greeted by Toni on the reception desk. Very well presented, a warm and professional welcome, exceptional customer service. Toni made me aware of my allowances for my stay as it was for business, what time breakfast was served, and my check-out time. I was handed my room key and my breakfast voucher and was told where my room was. The room was spacious, and clean, very well maintained. Huge smart TV, at least 65”. Food is good and a wide range to choose from, although along with the drinks it is expensive. The following few days I had questions regarding my upcoming stay to which Toni and Kerry were there to great me. Again both of them were very well presented and very professional. Toni and Kerry Both answered my questions with accuracy and overall I was very satisfied with the service I was provided.

Today, I had a delightful surprise—a spacious room with a huge, comfortable bed, impeccably clean as always. A special thanks to the wonderful ladies at the reception, Roberta and Claire, for their exceptional help!

Booked through a travel agent a week in advance, booked the wrong dates. I attended the hotel a week before my arrival to see if we could change the dates or get a refund, was told no. Ended up staying at the hotel, bed was shockingly uncomfortable, had a sore back and told I couldn’t be moved. Breakfast was average. Staff miserable. Would recommend staying in the premier inn round the corner if your needing to stay in Basildon.

The hotel was clean and the rooms spacious and had all the amenities we needed. What let the hotel down was the bar service- despite being a ‘24 hour’ bar, he definitely was not interested in serving us around midnight when we got back to the hotel from a do. Furthermore, there is some weird policy that you can order pizza but must take it up to your room- can’t eat it in the bar area. It was all very odd.

Nice place to stay and room rent was reasonable. Lots of paid parking spot but not free even for NHS employees anymore, which was used to be before 😕

Nice bar area. Rooms a bit tired but okay with a large TV. Beer pricey at £6.75 though. Don't pay for parking. It is complimentary but loads of pay now signs in the car park are misleading

Check in was swift and easy, Genna was a amazing at the reception and we had a nice rest with amazing breakfast the morning after.

My wife and I stayed overnight in the Basildon Holiday Inn this weekend for a nearby party. The receptionist who was on duty when we returned to the hotel could not have been more accommodating & professional. Exceptional service delivery, thank you for making our short stay great.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay during a work visit. Rooms are clean, simple (standard has a kettle but no mini fridge) and tidy. The location facing the water and pergola is pretty but to access anything outside of the industrial park requires a taxi or car. Breakfast included was good, the usual hot and cold options. I think this is a good budget hotel; rooms and bathroom are sturdy with a homely feel and quiet for sleep. Recommend

I came to the holiday inn to support a friend who needed to do a course there.Joe H was very supportive in helping her when she was anxious about the course.He was also very welcoming when I waited in the foyer for her.When my friend finished her course we both enjoyed the lovely food.The presentation was great, and Joe H knows how to give his customer service.His hospitality skills are professional and outstanding.

Really can't complain about this hotel, nice rooms rooms (on the top floor anyhow). Food is good, lots of beer and wine to choose from.

Short overnight stay, was a typical Holiday Inn, would recommend and if close by stay again.

I have stayed here many times over the last five years as a very respectful guest with no issues. However, I go to check in and apparently they have a new discrimination policy here. where they are willing to discriminate against anyone of a certain type, trying to use their accommodation, absolutely disgusted they should be ashamed of themselves.

Lovely versatile venue for a wedding! - I often DJ'd here. There were a couple of rooms to chose from. See some lovely photos I took at an elaborate Indian wedding. The table decorations and way the room was set was amazing! I offer a DJ and Photographer package, I''d be pleased to chat.

The hotel is in a nice and quiet location, there are places next to it where you can go and eat and drink… hotel rooms are quiet, beds are comfortable and big…. But I have been here for 3 days, the rooms have never been cleaned and the bathroom towels have never been changed.!!! They don't leave any drinking water in the room.!!!

Our Stay in Basildon at the Holiday Inn was quite enjoyable. Close to shopping and nice restaurants however the fun vibe from the lounge allows you to just relax and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat. The friendly and hard working staff made our stay so much fun. Sharron and Carly were full of great information regarding travel and local restaurants with friendly and engaging conversation.
