Beautiful meal last night. The steak was cooked to perfection and the seabass was beautiful. Nikki and Grace were very attentive, as always, ensuring that you have everything you need and always having time for a chat whilst serving their customers.

We just popped in for a quick bite to eat after playing tennis nearby with our 2 young children. We had some great food (fillet steak and linguine) and the kids ate a good portion of sausage, chips and beans after being offered options not necessarily on the menu. The staff were super friendly and could not have been more attentive to us and our kids. I have been to the this pub many times but wanted to review on this occasion as it was a last minute visit and we were well catered for, thanks guys :) (sorry no photo's of the yummy food, doh!

Visited over many years, dissapointed they have not upped there game in this cutthroat world of pub lunches and the passion has gone long ago, stuck around back of chimney breast, very little veg between two lunches, Roast potatoes pathetic, overall, the bill was to my mind £8-10 overpriced for what we had, on the plus side the B&B pudding delicious Will leave it now for 12 months to hear local FB??

Arranged a meal for several members of our family. We had a booking elsewhere which cancelled, so came across the Plough via the reviews on here. Considering we phoned for a fairly large table on a saturday night, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We hadn't been to the Plough prior to the meal, but were all very pleased . Staff were all really freindly, food was very nice. We had some of the Tapas starters and everyone had their own main course. We had amongst us the duck, several plates of the pork goulash(?) and a steak. To a person everyone commented on how much they had enjoyed the food and were very complimentary of the pub overall. Thank you all for a lovely evening.

We visited the plough with our good friends and were instantly welcomed with a warm, friendly smile and hello. The pub has a really lovely vibe, it was busy and the hustle and bustle was lovely to see. We were seated quickly and drinks were almost served straightaway. We were given time to peruse the menu and recommendations were given. Our starters,a selection of Tapas were mouthwatering. Enough time between starters and main allowed us not to feel rushed. The main courses of steaks, risotto, and lamb chops with side dishes were then bought to the table. All absolutely mouthwatering. Desserts were just wonderful. The banana cake and panacotta were another level! At the end of our meal the chefs(owners) came to our table to see if everything had been ok and to receive feedback. Well done to all the staff at the Plough we shall definitely be returning.

Visited with a friend on a Saturday evening. Only downside of the visit was the choice of 6.30 or after 8pm ‘sitting’. We chose the five tapas plates option and everything was delicious. Particularly good was the prawn puri and the vegetable empanadas. There was a lovely atmosphere in the pub and the staff were friendly and efficient. Fantastic!

Their website and this Tripadvisor page state Wednesday, Open 12:00 - 3:00pm. It wasn't. No indication anywhere that it would be closed. Not even an apology in the entrance. People were arriving (presumably for lunch and a pint) and having to drive off again. Doesn't the manager (or owner) of this pub understand how to add important up-to-date information on the pub's own website? My advice to the public? Phone up before even thinking about having lunch time meals here. The nearby "Crown" served me a lovely pint after my walk.

Access is tight along the lanes but the car park is ample and then you can enjoy a super lunch. Cosy country pub in small village with busy bar full of locals. Dining area is separate with own small bar. Menu is reasonably varied with emphasis on steak which is well priced. Small problem with the menu as it is placed over other diners so quite embarrassing as it must spoil their meal if eating. Shared starters of olives, bread, whitebait and pate. Apparently the steaks were really good and cooked as ordered.he lamb shank was large and tasty. I had seabass which was on the small side but cooked correctly. One dessert was disappointing but overall everyone enjoyed the meal . With 2 bottles of wine and drinks it worked out at 40 pound per head. Service friendly.

Have been going to a favourite pub, The Plough, for at least 30 years, so have plenty of experience of the overall excellence of any visit.A wide and varied menu, at reasonable prices, with food at a very high standard. The varied menu is always available, but Tuesday 'Fish' Nights and Thursday 'Steak' nights are a particular pleasure for us and our friends. Where else can you get 2 v.g. Steaks, plus all the trimmings (vegs., chips, potatoes etc.) and a bottle of wine for £27?Last evening - a Fish night - my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Haddock Florentine (beautiful fish, light cheesy sauce, on wilted spinach, peas and chips - £10 x 2)), plus a starter, 2 coffees, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (£18), all for £50, which included a good tip.2 Clubs I belong to also go every year to play Boules in the Beer Garden, followed by excellent buffets, so all types of food are available, including light lunches etc.Always good value - very friendly and efficient staff and always a good variety of excellent beers. What more can you wish for? Highly popular, you probably need to book any evening during the week and definitely at the weekend. The Plough is also involved with a lot of charity work and enjoys a very respected place in Claverley society.Although the address is 'Bridgnorth', I would have thought that it is nearer to/or just as near to Wolverhampton, where we live. I takes me about 15 minutes to drive through countryside, on a 'main' road (max. 50 mph) for virtually all of the way.If you are anywhere near, you must go!

You need to book a table in advance for Saturday dinner. We arrived and were shown to our table. The pub was very busy. No menus are available for the starter or main courses only the puddings. The dishes on offer were on a chalk board, some were marked as sold out but after we had ordered 2 of our party’s dishes were also unavailable. Service was slow but we didn’t mind as we chatted in our group, however, the waiting staff were showing signs of being under pressure! Meals were good - steaks £20 plus, moussaka with salad £9 with chicken and pork dishes priced in between. There was a small board with fish dishes and one for steaks. Steaks were nice, fresh vegetables & the chips were fine. We shared a chocolate waffle pudding - £5. The waffle was cold straight out of the packet but the generous portion of chocolate chip ice cream was delicious topped with squirted cream - we couldn’t find the caramel. All in all - there is an air of disorganisation here but the food was good and this wouldn’t put us off visiting at some time in the future.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE from start to finish! 23.02.19. We came here for my fathers birthday meal as a party of 4. We had booked in for 7pm. On arrival we had to manoeuvre our way through a very crowded bar to get to the restaurant.. ok not ideal but it was fine (even though they have another door on the side of the venue that they could simply open to make it easier for restaurant customers. So we go into the restaurant area and say our names and we are seated . We look for menus and there are none on the table .. we have to spend several minutes looking around for a board with the menu chalked on. This was not great either as it was behind a table with other customers sat at it . Another party who had just arrived had to take pictures on their phone as it was difficult to see! This is not good at all.. the menu changes every week apparently but would it not be easier to print some menus on basic plain A4 paper for and place them at the tables for customers convenience? (There are only 12-15 tables in the restaurant) . We then decide what we want and order our drinks.. 1x pepsi 2x lemonade and a pint . All the fizzy drinks were flat .. ok not major so we asked for replacements to which we were told “no problem love” the gas must have gone the bar maid said . The replacement drinks arrive .. still flat but none of us could be bothered to complain again. After 10-15 minutes of waiting the waitress came to taken our order and only at that point told us that there were 4 different dishes that were not available as they had ran out and only had 2 cod and chips left . Bear in mind we were the second table to be seated on a Saturday night) again another problem as this should have been explained at the start . So two of our party had to order second choice options and the other 2 had cod and chips . The food arrived 25 minutes later (again there was only one other table that that ordered before ours at this point) and only 5-6 other tables now occupied. Not a major issue as we thought all fresh cooked to order . Food arrived and I have to say that both the cods were absolutely disgusting stodgy mess! And the chips looked and tasted old . For the sake of my fathers birthday my partner and I kept quiet (we had the cod & chips). Once we had finished our meal (70% of ours we left) I quietly spoke the the waitress and said how disappointed we were with the meals in general but especially the cod and chips because of how stodgy and horrible they were. Her response was “ok love” to which I replied can you look at knocking these off the bill please? . She said she would ask.. came back several minutes later and asked again what was wrong with the meal ... I explained again. Off she went to the kitchen, came back severa minutes later and plonked the bill and 4 mints on the table and began to walk off , I said excuse me has the bill been reduced accordingly? The extremely rude girl just said no while she was walking off. No apology or explanation at all.... absolutely disgusting!! By this point I had totally had enough and asked to speak to the manager who had been given incorrect feedback on my complaint and was just told that we didn’t like the fish apparently (lies) after a few minutes she eventually agreed to knock one of the meals off the bill. Overall a horrible dining experience with extremely rude waitress who constantly calls everyone of the customers love! Just terrible and would certainly not return to this place and will be telling friends and family of the horrible place that is the Plough at Claverley . Avoid .

The Plough is a lovely olde worldly pub in the middle of the village with a separate small dining room and a roaring fire. The staff were friendly and attentive and our food was beautiful and quite a bit better than normal pub grub and presented very nicely. We dined on a Friday evening and the dining area was surprisingly quiet but the bar area was packed with mainly locals. I would have rated this place as excellent overall if it were not for the fact that when arriving and leaving we had to thread our way through the people standing drinking at the bar, who were quite rowdy, which made us feel a bit uncomfortable.

This pub is a real traditional pub, the drinks , food and staff in there excellent and really know there stuffKeith and Karen run this place and always have a great selection of great beers and even a gin collection , something for everyone. They know how to serve a good gin and tonic too , with fever tree and all the extras. There's a snack menu and fresh cobs if your just peckish , and if your up for it the plough has a extensive home cooked food menu , great portions and only cooked by experienced chefs. Steak night absolute must There is a function room and areas for big groups , and even a area to have a game of darts. Outside beautiful kept garden and if your feeling French you could get your boules out for a game of pétanque. I hear they have 2 premier league boules teams. Dogs and children welcome in the bar. Makes it a great place for families , bike ride stops and walking breaks.Keep an eye out for the live music and events that keith and Karen always organise also. Plenty of parking and a must visit place in Shropshire

Two steaks and a bottle of house wine for £24. The steaks were tender and were served with a variety of different potatoes (chips, jacket or boiled ) and vegetables, peas or salad. Well worth a visit on a Thursday.

Hadn't planned to go out but thought I can't be bothered to cook so after many suggestions from the husband where to go chose the plough. Well what a good choice we made! Lovely comfortable friendly welcoming pub. Fantastic choice of food not your usual pub grub. I had fish which was excellent. Husband had steak again it was excellent. Wasn't expensive either! So win all the way lovely pub, excellent food, friendly staff, will definitely return & recommend.

We have visited this establishment several times. The food is always excellent quality and prepared exceptionally well. The staff are always friendly attentive and welcoming and Karen & Keith are great hosts. The beer is kept very well and there is a good range of spirits, wines and soft drinks.I would recommend the Plough to anyone and have taken many friends who have always commented on the high standard of hospitality, food and drink.

Its been many years since we went to this pub and we were delighted with the service and the food. (It was a pity to see the other two pubs in Cleverly in such a closed and sorry state.)The service at the plough was very good, the meals were excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The pub is very welcoming and nicely fitted out. Will definitely be returning more frequently

I took my partner for a meal last Saturday. The pub is situated right in the heart of the village, it is also a big thriving part of the community and village. The Plough isn't just about getting people through the door, it's a community pub in which is does a lot for the village. Whether it's the flower festival or a occasion for someone in the village both Karen and Keith go above and beyond to make the occasion a fantastic and memorable one for who may concern. When we arrived at the pub we were greeted by warm welcome from the friendliest staff who make you feel part of the furniture simply by walking through the pub door. After we had our drinks poured we sat down for a couple of minutes in which we were greeted by a lovely lady with brown hair who was very bubbly ready to take our order. The fantastic thing was there was so much choice to eat I asked the young lady for her opnion, which I was greeted by the young lady's expertise on the menu and what was popular and what she liked. What a fantastic recommendation she gave me. I had the T-Bone steak. Wow what a peace of meat, it was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a range of onion rings, grilled tomato, chips and salad. The meal was fantastic and wow what a fair portion it was. I have a decent appetite but boy did I struggle with eating it all. It was too good to waste. The steak melted in my mouth, the chips were crispy and cooked just right, I didn't need any condiments because how juicy the steak was. Half way through the meal another staff member came over, who was absolutely Lovely,m. She made polite conversation and asked us about our meal and I couldn't thank enough. The only regret I have is I wished I had room for pudding. If you look up the Village you will come across the plough instantly, it is a traditional pub that is all about the customer, the community, fantastic food and well kept beer. I recommend you making a stop into the village simply for the Plough and everything it has to offer. Jaymes

We literally popped in, just to make up for the fact our normal canal walk, after a lovely breakfast, was a rain-soaked, non-starter. What a treat. The staff, and customers, were very warm, pleasant, talkative. "Brexit" has not only got the top spot in the news, but people certainly seemed glad we can now celebrate being British.

Don't worry if you get a little lost on route to Claverley, I don't think I have ever been the same way twice into the village in 35 years of driving - just follow the signs!!!The pub is lovely, there is a small cosy bar area for non diners, which looks like it would be really lovely in winter with it's open fire/log burner. The restaurant area was really well laid out. The tables are not on top of one another and there is plenty space on the tables for the food and drinks - I do hate places where you feel like you are sat on someone else's lap and when the food comes you have to use every available surface around you for your drinks - well done The Plough brilliant tables. As for the food - fabulous. A really impressive selection of Meat and Fish mains, and a good select of starters; sorry cannot comment on the pud's I was too full to even think about having pudding!!! Loved the fruit Plum Chutney with the Pate starter - All the chutney's are made on site and they are gorgeous, not sugary like so many available today. Please start bottling them and selling them????Four of us ate and all four of us were blown away by the food; I can recommend the Garlic Mushrooms; Pate; Asparagus; Surf and Turf; Steak and Hake.I would suggest booking tables if you don't want to be disappointed.Seriously good and we will be returning soon.

Not been into heart of Claverley for a long time, lots of winding/narrow country lanes to get there, for 'outsiders'. How happy we are to have been recommended to return by friends...A lovely, 'old fashioned' (meant in a really good way), traditional pub, with nice 'drinking' area for locals, and a seperate, more dining area, well laid out, and comfortable. Nice atmosphere, buzzing in the 'bar', quieter and more intimate in the 'eating area'. Good, friendly service, and efficient too.And most important, a lovely selection of food, well proportioned, tasty, just excellent. Also good understanding and decent 'gluten free' selection for one of our party, couldn't have been more helpful. Not the cheapest, but not daft prices either, and frankly, well worth it for the quality. Underscored at end by a really nice selection of local cheeses, rather than the 'standard' experienced elsewhere recently, with total lack of imagination. Can't wait to return to sample other items off the menu, as rather hard to choose, given the rather excellent selection available. To finish off, decent car park too. Faultless. Really enjoyed, thank you.

A good varied menu with great friendly staff. Food was lovely and served quickly despite it being quite busy. Presentation was good and the quality of the food was excellent with all fresh produce and cooked perfectly. No complaints at all - just wish I have got round to eating here before. Will be back.

Visited the Plough Inn for Sunday lunch. Lovely looking pub and a typical countryside pub inside, very good first impressions. Received a warm welcome from the staff and were sat at our table. The starters were put in, and took quite a while to arrive. Starter was pate and toast, I’ve had better. The mains were ordered with the sweet at the start, but took an absolute age to arrive. I had the lamb dinner, the portions were good, the lamb was nice, but the mint sauce was more like mint water, really watery, which absolutely spoilt my lamb as I had poured it over. Once the mains had been taken away (Again took ages for table to be cleared), we asked for the sweet menu. At this time there were 2 members of staff clearing and cleaning a table the side of us (back and forth a few times without taking any notice of us or our sweet order). Ten more minutes went by and we decided we didn’t want to wait any longer, so paid and went home.To summarise, the food not bad, but service has a lot to be improved. I must say from the reviews on here I was really disappointed with our Sunday lunch, and wouldn't return for food at this pub.

I came with a group of friends who are mostly former cookery teachers, so I was hoping to impress them with the home-cooked food, as I live in the village and often bring visitors for meals. They really enjoyed the fish cakes for lunch and even though they thought there wasn't enough room left for desserts, they succumbed to the lemon meringue which was delicious. The food is always excellent and never lets me down when I have visitors!

Called in on spec and asked for a table for two. The restaurant was full but we were found seats in the bar. Chose the "Thursday Offer" - Two Rump Steaks and a bottle of wine for £25. The bar staff were eager to please and our order came within 15-20 minutes. The meal included fries and salad. I chose to add Pepper Sauce for and extra £2. The steaks were cooked as we requested and the wine was perfectly acceptable. We would probably book in advance if going again on one of their "Specials" evenings. It was possible to have items from the a la carte menu too.

We come here regularly and have never had a bad meal. We mostly go at lunch time and have the lunchtime deal at £9.95 each and it is very good value for 2 courses - the ploughman' is excellent, as are all the main courses we have had, and the onion rings are proper onion rings, not the processed frozen ones from everywhere else. The coffee is excellent too and a good choice of ale as wellThe owners and the staff are excellent and helpful. The main menu on the blackboard is available during lunchtime as well as the special and the choice is fantastic.Thank you for all the lovely food we have had as well as the lovely service, a pleasure to keep going there it's like little holiday

An old friend of mine lives close to Claverley and we decided to meet up for a drink and a meal and he suggested The Plough. They have a special "deal" on Thursday evenings when you can get 2 steak meals and a bottle of house wine (or 2 pints of beer each) all for the princely sum of just £24. Ideal for a "Lads night out".It gets busy on Thursday evenings exacerbated by the fact the other 2 pubs in Claverley who also served meals have now closed down. That being the case I'd recommend you book a table rather than just turn up.There is plenty of room in the car park but in my opinion it's not really a good pub to visit if you happen to have to use a wheelchair. We ordered drinks at the bar and were then shown to our table which was in the centre of the pub. There isn't too much choice on tables as I'm guessing they only cater for about 40 covers but it is small and welcoming. Table's tend to be very close together so not really suitable for a romantic meal but for a lively convivial atmosphere it's great! As per the "Special" deal we ordered (2) 10oz Rump steaks with all the trimmings and when they were served we were pleasantly surprised at how well the dish was presented and the size of the portions. Certainly more than enough for two hungry blokes! The waiting staff were very pleasant and attentive and we had a really good meal topped off with a delicious dessert, I had Blackcurrant Cheesecake - yummy!I noticed they had numerous special boards dotted around the pub coverings Mains which were meat or fish based and also one for Desserts so you could in fact have a al a carte menu to choose from if you wanted. All in all a great night and meal all for the sum of £24, takes some beating really!
