Had a lovely meal here previously, but this time was disappointing. Wanted a burger - "we're out of burgers". Okay then, I'll have a pie - "we're out of pies". Settled on the pork stroganoff, which had great flavour to it but I think there were only three small, tough morsels of pork in it, with undercooked rice. The sole barmaid/waitress looked harassed and not happy to be there (our plates were launched at the table from about 6 inches away). Desert ... sticky toffee pudding with custard please - "we're out of custard" (seriously, what chef doesn't know how to whip up a quick custard from scratch ??). Oh, and it turned out to be microwaved golden syrup pudding. Yeah, sorry folks, not your best day.

Traditional village pub with small bar, wooden beams, open fire place and lovely rear garden. Friendly staff and locals and a homely, cosy feel. Good selection of drinks, including a well-kept Timothy Taylor Landlord. Was going to bring a visiting colleague to eat here but the food didn’t look anything too special, so decided to go elsewhere. Would definitely return for drinks though.

Nice pub and clean... However the food let it down massively. I ordered 'the Plough Burger" thinking it would be decent, instead i got a toasted bun, not butter, with a tiny burger in it with no salad or cheese in the burger, a bit of salad on the side and a few scraggy chips. Really disappointing. The service was ok, but when they asked if all was ok with my meal i new they where taking the mick. I'd go for a drink but avoid the food.

This Pup was taken over in December 2021, so the lady owner told me....Wow wow and wow again.... a must visit Pub. We were on our way to East Midlands Airport and thought we would have dinner. Looking on TripAdvisor we saw that the Plough Inn was close by. Sunday dinner was our choice. Roast beef and a Pork with crackling dinner were our choices. What a meal. Everything cooked to perfection. Vegetables just right a little crunch when eating, not the slop you get at a carvery. Beef and Pork lovely flavour, and the gravy was the finishing touch. Pudding Apricot crumble and custard awesome. You need to try this pub, service and staff are amazing. Well done The Plough.

Under new management since re-opening in December 2021, the Plough has been steadily building up its offerings. Today, they began serving all-day breakfasts on Saturday from 9.30am. We called in to re-fuel at the end of a morning bike ride. A brilliant breakfast for hungry cyclists! One Full English Breakfast, one Breakfast Cob, with fresh ground coffee. Quality ingredients (lovely thick bacon rashers), generous portions and warm, friendly service on a cold, foggy January morning. Highly recommended ♥

It's the first Sunday opening after lockdown and I'm so pleased Nic decided to open back up again. My parents moved to the village in Dec 2020 and this was the first time we could take them to their new local. We were just popping in for a drink, but the smell of the Sunday roast was too tempting! I ordered Beef and was plated up a mouthwatering and belly-filling portion. Great selection of veggies and the service was brilliant. We all felt covid safe as it was well organised and it wasn't too crowded. It's a good job the roast isn't served every day otherwise my Dad would be reserving a daily spot! We also had a treacle sponge pudding with custard, really tasty and value for money portion. It finished me off though!

I’ve visited this Inn in the past, and rated it a four, however my latest experience certainly superseded the previous visit. A lovely friendly lady, who I can only imagine was the owner, and a very enthusiastic waitress looked after us extremely well. A limited menu, but that can only be expected during these trying times, offered a nice selection of fayre. Whitebait and a burger( with stilton!) for me. My wife had the mushrooms, followed by the fish and chips, all cooked perfectly. Wine was also well presented, ice bucket with plenty of ice! All in all a lovely evening.

Booked last minute for a table of four. On arrival the pub had a nice atmosphere, ordering process wasn't explained though and we weren't given a menu. Service was non existent, food took roughly 45 minutes to arrive and was substandard when it did. Frozen chips, normal baps for burger buns and the steak was the worst I've ever experienced. Ordered it medium rare and it looked anemic and was barely edible, it was a terrible cut and was cooked very poorly to the point it had no taste whatsoever. Left with dirty plates in front of us for 20 minutes before we decided to pay up and leave, I'd have complained in person had there been someone waiting tables to raise this with at the time. £60 later, I would never return under the current management.

What more can you say? A simple but effective menu with decent choice of home made food. All served quickly and efficiently with no fuss and at very acceptable prices. Good choice of beers on tap, nice staff and obviously somewhere the locals go to regularly. My advice: get out of your airport hotel and take a 3 minute car or taxi drive to go to the plough for your evening meal. You’ll save money and enjoy it too! Thank you Plough! We loved it.

Went for a family sunday dinner. We booked well in advance. To get to the table you have to walk through the main bar which was full of football fans shouting at the tv. Not a great welcome. Place was decorated lovely and the table was away from the busy bar. We all ordered, most of us a roast dinner and was then informed there was no chicken, belly of pork or beef so the only option was leg of lamb so we went for that. Waitress then came back to say there wasn't enough lamb so one of us had to compromise. The dinner arrived there was one small bowl of cauli cheese between 6 of us and was charged for an extra bowl £3.50. The dinner was small veg also came in little bowls and we ordered extra. The lamb was not was was on the menu. There was no leg and you got a coupke of slices of lamb. Waitress really tried her best but I felt she was very embarrassed. We ordered dessert, most of us cheesecake. Waitress returned to say only 1 cheesecake left. Why does this pub have no food? They knew we were coming well in advance. Food was nice not enough of it for the price. Staff were great can't fault them
