The Plough in Mole Valley

This place was recommended to us by a friend as a good place to go when one of your party is vegan, and we weren't disappointed. Good selection of vegan options. Very tasty food overall and the service couldn't have been better. Even though it was busy, we felt like we had an entire team of servers catering specifically to OUR needs. Even the toilets looked amazing. I assume they have recently had a refurbishment. First time here, but we will definitely come again. Thanks to AJ and team.

Excellent food in a lovely venue. The service was exceptionally good from AJ, friendly and helpful with recommendations and general check in.

Rang at short notice and they said they had space for us. The service was really friendly and attentive. Great range of bar drinks, cocktails and soft drinks plus wines etc. The ambience is lovely - a great blend of traditional and modern - hard to describe but you will see what i mean if you visit. The food? Off the charts. I ordered off the lunch menu but added a starter from the evening meal menu which was no problem. The taste of each meal was excellent. The price was very good value as well. And no charge for tap water which is a nice touch. Highly recommended. Great place, lovely staff, outstanding food and good value.

First time visiting here but definitely not the last. Staff made us feel extremely welcomed and valued. Food choices and quality were excellent. Lovely venue, felt clean and modern whilst still retaining its character.

Some people don't know the best food when they eat it. This far surpasses OK. As others have reviewed. I've eaten a lot of tai food in many establishments. This tops them all by light years. To write this restaurant is nothing to write home about in your review is rude and condescending. This food is to be shouted from the roof tops. Any special occasion this is our go to place. If you try here. Be prepared to not want to go anywhere else in the future. Every single dish I've ever had from here is impeccable and toasts your nuts. Everyone I've know to have eaten here said the Same. And if you're lucky enough to order a dish with the specially chopped Carrots. You'll understand what I'm talking about. They make a carrot not just a carrot. It's cut in such a way that the bite is better than the flavour. You have to try to understand. 5 stars isn't enough for this place and we'll deserving of a Michelin star. The staff are always impeccably dressed, smart and always service with a smile. And the service is top tier. You can tell they're not after tips, they genuinley want you to have to best experience. I can't spread enough positivity about this place. It truly is a jewel. You can't fail to leave having eating like a king. Unless you're sour and know nothing of great food.

Had a wondeful meal here yesterday. The staff were so attentive. AJ was exceptional! The food was great, the egg fry was different to what we have ever had and delicious. Definitely will be going back again!

Heard good things about the Plough so we checked it out for ourselves last night . Everything about the place is classy the decor,service & most importantly the food was top drawer.We had the mixed Malai sharing plate to start,& mixed up the mains like peppered tiger cry beef,pad mee plus couple rice & noodle sides. Will definitely be back soon the whole place pub side & restaurant are how it should be done.Quality. Thanks.

We have been making a regular 10 mile journey to the Plough for nearly two years. This is because the venue, the hospitality, the amazing Thai food & the staff are first class. We highly recommend!

Booked a table for 3 with our little one and drove 60 mins to get here only to be turned away rudely as we were 5 mins late (due to their garbage truck blocking their entrance). Their staff doesn’t know how to serve customers. They don’t answer phones and it was quite painful to get a table in the first place. Despite confirming at the time of booking that we could only reach 30 mins into our booking time, we were told to come anytime as long as we vacate the table on time. Sadly the duty manager at the time decided to give our table away to someone else without even bothering to check. The tone of the duty manager was quite rude and despite 3-4 tables being available, no effort was made to give us an alternate option. The manager was quite indifferent to the fact that their entrance to the restaurant was blocked thus causing a the delay. There’s barely any parking and we were asked to park in an alleyway next to a store instead. It was a waste of our evening given how far we drove out (based on glowing reviews). While I’m sure the food and beverages would be good, it’s a shame that customers are treated this way. The duty manager seemed quite arrogant, had no empathy, had no response to why their earlier manager had given us a flexible booking slot and refused to take any accountability for their entrance being blocked. Whats sad is that he was adamant on not giving us an alternate table, a later slot or even takeaway. Safe to say that we’re never visiting this pub again. As a genuine request, please don’t give flexible time slots or tables if you simply wish to turn away customers.

Good food by why oh why don’t a restaurant like this that charge a lot of money give you a small black Tissue instead of a proper napkin? To save money on laundry and now I have a expensive pair of jeans ruined 😡

First visit to The Plough for a family reunion and we all had a lovely time. The food and service was excellent in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Lai looked after us for our meal and made our visit special. Thank you Lai and the team for your great hospitality. We will definitely visit again.

The Plough is in an unusual setting just off a roundabout in Leatherhead but once inside it’s a fantastic experience. The staff, AJ and all the team are so warm and friendly. Very attentive. The Thai food was the best I’ve had outside london. Fresh and delicious and didn’t break the bank. A must to visit.

This is a sophisticated pub, serving Thai food by Thai staff. Went there on a Saturday for lunch - it was quite popular but not noisy at all. Amongst the four of us, have tried a good sample of their dishes. We know how good Thai food should taste from Asia. We really liked the massaman curry - which has good flavour of coconut. Platter was nice. Ending with banana fritter was a great choice. Pad Thai was tasty but bit wet. We shall we back.

Superb food and ale (Surrey Hills brewery's Shere Drop!). Quiet with pleasant decor.

Having attended a memorial service at the nearby Randalls Park we just wanted to enjoy a lunchtime meal and raise a glass to toast our late friend. Fortunately, the Plough Pub and especially its Malai Thai restaurant within were recommended to us. We parked the car, not forgetting to also register the licence plate on the specified app, and were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to a table. The Thai main dishes and desserts was authentically splendid; unanimously agreed amongst the best we’ve tasted. The accompanying sauvignon blanc wine was pretty good too. Our kind regards to the all staff, especially a young gentleman by the name of P.

A party of four. One friend with health issues ie can’t eat rice. Would have preferred a bowl of steamed or cook vegetables as side dish. The staff refused, even with a number of attempts. They want her to buy a main course to include vegetables. Rather than just vegetables as side dish. Such a shame for my friend. I have been there quite a few times. Obviously if you stick to the menu great, if you need flexibility due to your diet or health not so good. Let’s hope for some flexibility in the future.

Food is always fabulous, can’t fault, been here over and over and over but always expect put expectations. Lai is the best, very friendly, very accommodating and very kind. Nice ambience. My favourite place in Leatherhead, Surrey

Amazing service, best Thai food we’ve ever had. Another thing we really appreciated was being notified several times of the car park registration. We have been to other places where they don’t even mention it and hand you a hefty fine. All around great restaurant would highly recommend!! To add…The music nights are also always so much fun.

I and my partner had the chilli chicken and garlic pad gra graw - I may have that name slightly wrong but close enough. If you see it on the menu, do try it, it's so delicious and one of the best Thai dishes I've ever tasted. The maitre di was so friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I use this pub as a meeting place when transporting support items to dog rescues in Berkshire. Always cheerful staff, good service with tea and food, pleasant environment and dog friendly.

Amazing night, I drive over 45 minutes on the motorway when I come here, and am more than happy to do this everytime! It is so so worth the drive. I just want to keep coming back! Food is 10/10 everytime, the menu is unreal and the service and vibe is impeccable. The whole place it spotless and it's just such a homely, friendly place. I recommend to everyone!

Chicken curry and tamarind chicken, very good. Fast service, we were served and ate in 35 minutes.

Personally I feel this is the best Thai restaurant locally. It delivers on every level, service is quick, professional & the food is authentic. We was looked after by a lady called Emma who was very friendly & we felt well taken care of.

Saturday evening Thai. Excellent quality delicious food, quick service. And the owners have revamped the garden area. Quality all round , well worth a visit. But book in advance.

Back home visiting family and friends and booked a table for Saturday night. Was quite busy and took a while ( over 15 minutes) after being seated for anyone to come and ask us if we wanted a drink. Apart from that the food was excellent as it is known for. Will be back next time we come back home. Nice to see a few old famililar faces there enjoying a meal too.

Had lunch here today on our way home from a holiday in Italy. The food was excellent, I had the Pad Thai, it was delicious and my partner really enjoyed his meal too

Can be a bit noisy when busy. Monday lunch time good. Food exelent service 😋.

Amazing Thai food and lovely staff

Would and have recommended this place. The service was impeccable. We booked for in the garden but it rained heavily and they had already replanned our table indoors. It was a surprise for my husband which they were great at keeping and everything worked out perfectly. So friendly and helpful and the food is delicious 😋. We don't eat meat but it is great for those that do or don't. The toilets are spotless and everything really clean and such a relaxing atmosphere. Will definitely be booking up to go again.

Quite a nice Thai restaurant with covered outdoor dining/drinking space. Food quality was very good but the menu was a bit limited.

Leatherhead is not too far from our London home , and it was our last night in London before returning home. I tried two other restaurants close by , however they were fully booked . Fortunately the Plough had one table available and It offered thai food in a pub . I have not had Thai in London so was looking forward to it . A j the bartender was really great snd had good coctails for ys . The food was ok , The best dishes were the Papaya Salad and Satay . The rest were edible nothing to write home about .Having said that the Restaurant was full.

Great pub in Leatherhead with a Thai restaurant. The food was very good quality but the spicy pork dish I had was a little too sweet. Everyone else seemed very happy with their dishes.

Every single dish we had was amazing. Highlights would be the Aromatic Crispy Duck and Honey Chicken Sizzle. The service, in particular Emma, was extremely good - ask her for her recommendations and you will not be disappointed. Very very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back already!

Great food, but outstanding cocktails - best in absolutely ages! Barman AJ is truly gifted! We all had the raspberry & rhubarb gin (with a hint of herbs, like a Pimm's - really clever!), then designated driver had non-alcoholic gin with rhubarb & ginger (even nicer!!), while others indulged in espresso martinis with salted caramel - not too sweet, slightly smoky (!), off-the-scale gorgeous!!! Well done AJ - we'll be back!

Used to be good changed there beer selection not for me no more Thank you for reply. But I think your find my local does exceptionally well selling kronenbourg. Id like to add that they don't just supply what they can get in cheapest and sell for more profit unlike some places not to point fingers

Service- really good and attentive Atmosphere- nice atmosphere with plenty of people Food - disappointing food, red curry and drunken noodles were overly sweet, reported to staff but no real recognition of our feedback. This made the meal poor value in my opinion. Maybe it was an off day but this was not authentic Thai and means we will not be returning.

We just visited the bar and didn't go to eat in the separate Thai restaurant. Nice cosy bar with a good selection of drinks. We were there midweek and the restaurant was turning people away as they were full, so I assume the food is good! Suggest booking a table.

This is an outstanding restaurant. Lovely ambience, friendly and efficient service and the food is exceptional. We had ribs, prawn toast and dumplings to start. These were so tasty its hard to describe. The mains were a curry and a sizzling dish - again the taste was exceptional. Portion sizes were excellent and the taste was off the charts. Make sure to book and the place will try and accomodate you with a close alternative even if your preferred time isnt avaialble. I sent an enquiry online and within minutes the Plough phoned me with options. Fantastic service.

I was very impressed with the Thai food. The service was fine. We were there at lunchtime next to a rather noisy party, so can’t say much positive about the atmosphere. Food is worth the trip

Fantastic Valentines lunch. Warm welcome upon arrival and swiftly shown to our comfortable table. Plenty of room on the table for our sharing platter and drinks and water etc. All tables appeared to be of a decent size - so many times tables for 2 are not big enough for sharing dishes and drinks but not here! Chicken pad Thai and Beef massaman curry first class, piping hot and fresh. Lovely atmosphere, fantastic quality food and drinks. We have rebooked for our wedding anniversary in July - real gem.

First time here, top quality inside, we sat by the folding doors with a view into the garden. My pad Thai was delicious, the sweetness and sour flavour was perfectly balanced and there was plenty of chicken and crunchy peanuts. Really good. Friendly, service our drinks were on the table in minutes. This is our friends local, so they come regularly. I also recommend, without a doubt.

First visit of 2024, since, just prior, to Christmas last year. Both pub and restaurant remain ruddy excellent in every facet. Came here on a Saturday with friends of my parents - their first time here. They were highly impressed by the standard of all the food. Some really fresh and vibrant dishes. Asked Maisie for a recommendation and she suggested the Panang which was the best dish we had. Will definitely return, nice looking pub too

Superb Thai food at reasonable prices

What a fantastic service me and my friend received from Jess and Corinne at the plough, we arrived and the table was ready soon as we Got there, got spoken through the menu. Everything was 10/10 food the drinks, but above all the serves. Couldn’t have asked for a better serve. Very happy and would recommend to anyone specially with tonight’s staffing :)

We arrived hopefully after long haul flight on a Friday evening - just needed the warmth of their welcome and their great food! They were fully booked but Andrew the Manager who is always so kind and professional, squeezed us in. Emma showered us with kindness and fun. The girls are all so lovely and graceful.
