Great place for a special night out. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much for them. Going again for a birthday meal in a few weeks time

We came for the lunch set menu: a mixed starter and choice of mains from a short selection. The mixed starter was fine; the sauce for the main was a little watery but the meat was tender and had excellent flavour. Good value at £16. Service was friendly and efficient. Would definitely come back.

Dishonest. Went to cashier counter to pay and was given 2 higher bills for payment. When asked on both occasions, cashier was not apologetic and merely changed the bill again. The manager came by and blamed me for paying at the cashier counter instead. Be warned and stay away unless you want to pay for others! Food was decent but then not worth the angry experience!

Excellent food - would happily go back! Food was fresh, well cooked and delicately flavored - no complaints

We have been recommended this restaurant but the starters were mainly lettuce. The Duck was small slices and ruined by spices and peppers and the meal came to just under £200 not recommended

Popped into this restaurant for a quick lunch on Sunday and we weren’t disappointed. Delicious and tasty fresh food. Great service and lots of choice on the menu. If we are back in the area we would definitely eat here again.

Always a good quality meal. Been using this place for eat in and delivery for years. Always polite and the quality of the food is great. The rice is quite big and 1 rice is often enough for 2!

This Thai restaurant offers decent food and table service was good. Doors were open so it helped a little to drown the noise of a group of guys oblivious to everyone else eating. The girl serving didn’t appear too happy or friendly but maybe an off night! Penang curry lacked flavour, but chicken was good cuts. Starters quite expensive for what you get for the money but tasty. I just felt it lacked atmosphere as a Thai restaurant but overall on my thinking average was just on food and service

My friend persuaded me to go to this restaurant even though I said I was not keen on Thai food. Well I am now!! What a little gem this place is! Warm and very welcoming! Lovely staff! Amazing food!! I can't wait to visit again next month!

Friday night had the most awful quality take away, The egg fried rice was swimming in water and looked like rice pudding, The massanam was watery and duck poor quality meat. Pad thai was nothing but tasteless sticky mess of noodles and a few prawns, Cost £50 and will not be ordering from them again! Should never have been allowed to leave the kitchen in that state!!!

Ordered takeaway and they got part of the order wrong. Rang to complain, they didn't really care that much and wanted to give us the correct items if we came in to the restaurant to eat - no thanks! They eventually promised to send out a cash refund which unsurprisingly never turned up. Food was OK, nothing special. Won't be ordering from there again.

I used to go to this restaurant since 2011, had business meetings and even dating. The last time I went with my wife for lunch we had been refused entry because I did not want to give my name details for the track and trace app. This will be my last visit - unless they stop their unconstitutional control. You would not know this is the country of the Magna Carta.

My husband and I have eating at this restaurant regularly for a few years now. The food is always delicious and the staff is most friendly. I am very surprised with the latest reviews bas I have never experienced anything like it.

The food is delicious but twice now we have ordered food with specific dietary requirements and twice now they have failed to deliver. They are happy to rectify their mistake but obviously the family meal is ruined. They are fine when you eat in

Leatherhead really needs the option of a Thai restaurant, and whilst this place has a perfect location and relatively nice feel to it on the inside, it is massively let down by the food quality. Its not a place you will walk out of saying how good the food is but if they can improve that then I would think about returning more often. Don't bother with take aways from here as that only seems to even worse. All in all, this is a place that feels like it should be better than it is. There is potential but doesn't quite work.

We were very dissatisfied with our delivery Thai. It was very expensive for poor quality. Was it chefs larder (mass produced cheapest of the cheapest, low quality base sauce? I would put my money on it - past experience in the restaurant trade). Very disappointed as I would love to support the local restaurant but I unfortunately would not recommend this to anyone). The Tom Yum soup was tasteless apart from the lemon grass which can add flavour to boiling water. The green curry (we had king prawn and also accidentally ordered a chicken one) was far too sweet (and tasted like a chefs larder paste / sauce base)The massaman was not traditionally created (would have also liked to have the choice of a beef version on the menu) and had no depth to it.The pad Thai was over powerfully sweet, glutinous and congealed and again tastelessPlease do take this on board as cutting corners is never an option as it does more harm than good.

The early evening menu at £16.95 for 2 courses is good value. the selection is good and portions good and quality good. Outside of this offer meals can be very expensiveThe only critisism is that the cheapest white wine was over £20 a bottle which I feel is too pricy

The most shocking experience! I’ve been to eat in a few years ago and had the best evening and great food. Tonight decided to order a takeaway online with friends and after nearly 2 hours had to call andThey decided to tell me they had not received the order which going by reviews is a lie they seem to use that excuse a lot. So nearly 10pm order arrives, jungle curry is basically water and chicken (dry)with a couple of veg? Pad Thai.. stodgy. Photos attached. Honestly tasteless and just genuinely shocking. We have paid nearly £90 for this order and I’m just disgusted by the whole service. Never ever go there. I’ve never had to complain about an order or leave a negative review until now. When we called they wanted to coMe and collect the food. Total joke.

This place is an absolute joke, the jungle curry looks like something iv thrown up.I wouldn't feed this to my dog.The staff were extremely rude after waiting over 2 hours. They then wanted to collect the food.Do yourself a favour and order at the Plough down the road.Avoid.

Ordered delivery online, called after 90mins passed as still not arrived. Was told that they had a power outage so our order was missed... however looking at previous reviews, they have used this excuse before. Food eventually arrived about 2 hours later, along with a £40 voucher. However, majority of the food we ordered and paid almost £90 for was inedible. The jungle curry was just watery with dry chicken, flavourless. Potatoes in massaman raw. Pad Thai stodgey and flavourless. Also missing one rice dish.Called the restaurant to discuss the issue to be told they would come and collect the food but would not replace it and it was 10pm so we were unable to order else where. Service is absolutely shocking, matching the food. £90 down the drain. Avoid at all costs.

I have been here before and the food was somewhat decent. Since the coronavirus lockdown I have ordered on 2 occasions and both times the quality is pathetic. Jungle curry is just a watery liquid as seen in the pics. Almost most curries are just watery stuff these days. Will not recommend this place to anyone

We had a lovely meal here last night. The staff greeted us with smiley eyes - they were all wearing their face masks and socially distanced from each other. The restaurant was well set out, spacious, hand sanitizers everywhere and they abdibed by the covid guidelines. The food was fantastic - we didn't have to wait long for it to come out and they had a wide range of drinks. It has to be one of the cleanist and friendlinest restaurants we have been to. We had a wonderful evening here and highly recommend anyone to go here.

We went to make the most of the Eat out to Help Out Scheme, there were far too many people in the restaurant and they were rushed off there feet. The food was good, apart from the vegetarian option which had three small bits of tofu which was not good for 9.95. The service was very slow, such a shame as it is lovely food. . One of the waiters pulled his mask down to talk to us and one of the other had the mask just over her mouth. They need to think again there COVID procedures

I would have given 4 Stars as the food was enjoyable but an hours wait for the starters was excessive. The restaurant is not cutting back on numbers so if you visit during the eat out scheme expect a very full restaurant and a long wait. Our experience was still enjoyable but some customers left before their main course arrived as they gave up. With 4 staff out serving and 2 in the kitchen the place should be able to cope but they are very disorganised. Food arrived for some tables before others had ordered and the same problem with drinks.

So impressed with the service we received today. This is by far the cleanest restaurant we have been to since COVID-19, every table was well spaced, the staff respected social distancing, hand sanitiser everywhere, everyone wore masks. And the food was excellent too, as usual!

We saw on facebook that Thai Pinto were cooking meals for Leatherhead hospital due to the Covid-19. We wanted to give something back to Thai Pinto so we ordered a delivery. That meal was superb, and we have now for the last 3 weeks on a Saturday ordered the same delivery every week as a weekend treat. The portions for delivery are big and the quality and taste of the food is amazing.

HOW do they make food that tastes this good? Seriously... how. It is so incredibly good. Heavenly. Due to COVID-19 we still want to support our local restaurants even though we can't eat there in person. I love that they have updated their website for a 'contact free' service - which we asked for as having to isolate. Food arrived hot and in good time.

phoned to make an order for a take away lunch and although the restaurant wasn't meant to open before 4pm, the owner made a special effort to do everything himself and deliver as initially planned. Hugely appreciated. Oh and the food? Absolutely delicious. Can recommend all the curries and Southern Thai chicken in particular.

Visited Thai Pinto with a group of 8 friends and we were all very pleased with the standard of food served. It was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was nicely full. The service was prompt and friendly. We all ordered starters and main courses and everyone said how lovely the food was. Thai Pinto is a little gem in Leatherhead and we will be back soon.

Over the past decade, my family have frequented this lovely restaurant, together and with friends. The owners are humble people and the staff are always bright and welcoming. The food is continuously excellent and everything is homemade and fresh. The relaxing atmosphere makes this restaurant perfect for date night or a long catch-up with an old friend.

Called for a delivery, and was told that as they were busy it would take an hour for delivery. Called back after 1hr 15 minutes, asked to call back in 10 minutes. Did that and and was asked to call back again. Called back again and heard the following conversation between two staff members 'Theyve been waiting for 1hr 50 minutes - wheres the Driver?' 'Tell them the Manager will call them tomorrow and offer a partial refund...' The phone was hung up by them, and the food arrived after 1hr and 50 minutes.

Although this restaurant has been in Leatherhead for a while, it is a new find for me, I’ve now visited it 3 times and each time the food has been great and the service outstanding. What more could you want.

There's a reason why some restaurants are successful and stand the test of time. This is an example of that. The decor is nice, tasteful, slightly understated and comfortable. Having recently been in Bangkok we could tell this was authentic looking. The service is good - polite, helpful, swift and friendly. Before we had even ordered we were asked if there were any dietary needs. I said I required gluten free and was told that most things could be made gluten free but to let him know what I wanted and he'd let me know if it was possible. Sooooo much nicer than being made to feel like a leper as so often happens elsewhere where I've been told there was nothing suitable for me or been given only 1 or 2 choices at most. The food was delicious and the portions were plentiful. This is not a cheap option for a meal out in Leatherhead but if you are looking for consistent quality and you like Thai food then I'd recommend you try this place.

this is a small restaurant at the top of the high street, which is popular with the locals in the village, but not well known.

I visited this restaurant alone whilst travelling for work. I felt very welcome and didn’t feel uncomfortable even though there was a large group dining near me. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh. Highly recommend.

This local restaurant always offer great deals, good service and very tasty food. There is a wide range to choose from and the early dinner offer is well worth taking advantage of.

Early evening meal with colleague. Wow, one of the best Thai meals I’ve had. Pleasant service and delicious food. The rib eye steak and the lamb dish were superb. Fleeting visit to the area but would highly recommend.

We have friends who eat here regularly so thought we’d try it for a Saturday night takeaway - sadly a decision which we regretted.

We popped in here on way back from Gatwick, friendly discrete service, nice wine, food was very good we had prawns in batter, dumplings, massaman curry and duck with tamarind The sauce in the curry was delicious and the prawns were light and tasty

We don't usually do takeaways, but this place came well recommended. The mixed starters were OK, but the main courses were better on quantity than quality, particularly the honey chicken. (We have since had a similar dish at a restaurant in Coulsdon that was in a different class.) In retrospect, the takeaway was a mistake. We've had a couple of decent sitdown meals at the Pinto, but for a Thai takeaway next time I'll buy from the Cook shop - half the price, and nicer.

Attentive staff and lovely fresh cooked food. The fishcakes are so delicious and the 'weeping tiger' is sublime. When they heard there was a birthday, they surprised the birthday girl with a free desert complete with candle! The early evening menu is very reasonably priced. The seasonal set menus and a la carte offer an amazing variety to tempt and delight.

This was my 3rd visit to Thai Pinto and for my money it is hands down the best restaurant in Leatherhead and beyond. Fantastic food, reasonably priced and the staff are exceptional. Lovely decor inside as well.

We ate at this restaurant on a Sunday evening. The place was virtually empty with the result that there was no atmosphere at all. The food was ok although some of the flavours were rather bland and it was certainly overpriced. Drinks, too, were expensive.

Excellent quality food. We tried the Christmas banquet and all the food tasted excellent. Only slight quibble would be that the portions were a little small.

We popped in here on a Friday on the way back from the station, just on the off chance they had a spare table. Parking was easy straight outside as the High Street allows vehicles in the evening.

I popped in for a rice and sweet chilli chicken takeaway (newJapanese takeaway shop nearby was closed) and, to be honest it's got to be the blandest food I've eaten in a long while - and that's putting it mildly. I'm perplexed by the favourable reviews because my experience is not comparable at all. The rice was horribly sticky i.e. too much water had been used as opposed to the natural texture of the rice and the sweet chilli chicken was a mix of a few tasteless and inedible chicken pieces with chunky uncooked peppers and a sweet watery sauce. I love Thai food but this ain't it. The price was a rip off too for the portion size - not that it would have made any difference as a couple of mouthfuls was all it took before it ended up in the bin.

Have now been to this restaurant three times with large groups of friends, most recently in July and have always enjoyed the quality of the food. Staff are attentive and amenable - have never been hurried out of the restaurant when we've been the last to leave either.

Very nice, tasty, fresh food, I had honey chicken and was very tasty with tempura veg on the side, the rest of my colleagues also enjoyed their meals, Singha on tap was a good choice, good quality for the price, very fast & friendly service especially as we are on a time limit for lunch.

Visited with a party of 5 on a Monday evening. Surprised to see a restaurant so busy on a early week day. Once food arrived it was easy to see why. Food was fantastic.

Honestly, some of the negative reviews of this place are just weird. Went for a family meal and found all the staff very friendly, bowing to us as Thais do, as we left. I was pleasantly surprised by how authentic this restaurant is. The staff speak Thai and everything was great. No complaints.

The food was delicious, service was very friendly and smiley. Never told them it was my birthday, they overheard friends wishing me happy birthday. The staff came out with a pudding with candle in it! They sang happy birthday to me. Roughly £25 a head including glass of wine x2 diet cokes, a pint and a half of beer! No starters or sweets. 4 different meals ordered, everyone loved their meal. Would definitely return. Food was excellent.

I have eaten at the Thai Pinto numerous times, even coming here for a birthday meal, and I have never had a bad experience.

Well the food here is excellent and authentic. It is just a shame that the women behind the cashier desk is purely interested in your money and not your dining experience. If you don't order expensive wine then don't expect good service here. This is the first truly rude Thai person I have ever met.....maybe she should hide away out the back of the restaurant rather than out the front scowling at diners who aren't interested in buying their overpriced wine.

My wife and I took some friends there who were over from America. They asked us to recommend somewhere in Leatherhead to meet, and as I'd had a pleasant meal there before, suggested Thai Pinto. We met up on a Sunday evening and was not busy at all, so hardly surprising that the service was very attentive. The staff were friendly. We shared a set meal for the 4 of us and it was ample. We all enjoyed the meal.

There was a group of 6 of us, we had a impromptu meal at Thai Pinto. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful. The food was really good, all six of us really enjoyed our meals & there was six empty plates. We would definitely recommend & can’t wait to go back.

There are only so many times you can give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt or hope a member of staff is just having a bad day. We should trust our instinct and wonder why is it there are several years between visits.

A nice restaurant with flavoursome food. The menu is varied. Staff are pleasent and helpful. Prices are reasonable.

I visited recently with a group. The restaurant was very quiet but it was a weekday and early evening. We each ordered starters and mains and a couple of shared puddings. The service was really good and the food was delicious. I was a bit surprised that there was a charge for prawn crackers, a lot of restaurants serve them complimentary. We still ordered them anyway.

The food is lovely but the prices keep going up and up and portion sizes keep getting smaller. The early evening menu keeps going up in price and prawn crackers are no longer complementary. There is plenty of other choice in Leatherhead.

Interesting that there were only two customers. We asked for a small change to the set menu no problem increasing the price but too difficult. Strange as we are regulars and invariably change the set meals. Food normally good but expensive. Too much choice locally to go back, pity!

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been. I work in Leatherhead so I go a couple times per week but I also visit on Sundays for the buffet which is absolutely heaven. Service is very good also, they are very polite and welcoming.

I went to the Sunday Buffet. There were no "contains nuts" labels so I asked the staff which ones had nuts in. I only picked from the other dishes but it had nut contamination. Two days later I am still ill but getting better. Don't be the first one to die from their incompetance (assuming they havent killed anyone yet). Nut contamination kills people every year. I have informed Surrey Trading Standards via Citizens Advice. The food itself was quite good but dangerous.

This is a great place if you like authentic Thai food. Hot as you like or milder. They cater for all tastes with grace and some style without exaggeration. Lovely staff and helpful with their advice
