The Plimsoll in City of London, Westminster

Encantador. Fui con mi hijo a un almuerzo de cumpleaños por la tarde. Un poco caro (£ 6. 00 por un langostino) , pero volvería a pagarlo. Dos bocados escandalosamente sabrosos. Hamburguesa Dexter - cállate. Sin duda uno de los mejores de Londres. Personal de primera. Muy amable y acogedor. Yo volveré.

Lo visité un jueves por la noche. Es un lugar muy casual, sin duda más pub que gastropub, y la mayoría de los asientos estaban en taburetes bajos sin soporte para la espalda, por lo tanto no es el más cómodo de los lugares! Pedí una hamburguesa con queso Dexter con un poco de patatas fritas. También probé la torte de chocolate de postre. La hamburguesa era excelente! Rosa y jugoso en el interior con un bonito borde crujiente. Las patatas eran bastante buenas también y me gustó el alioli que acompañaba, que estaba lleno de ajo. El servicio fue amable y razonablemente eficiente. Mi factura fue de 57 libras, de las cuales 27 se gastaron en bebidas. Vine aquí específicamente para probar su hamburguesa y tengo que admitir que era una buena, probablemente una de mis favoritas en Londres. Definitivamente vale la pena comprobar! Nota: Google Maps muestra incorrectamente la dirección en una calle paralela.

Las hamburguesas eran sabrosas, pero venían sin lados. Comida y bebida muy cara. No podíamos salir de nuestra mesa, ya que estábamos tan apretados en la mesa de al lado. También nos echaron de nuestra mesa y no había otro lugar para sentarse.

Very very disappointed after all the hype about Pimsoll. Food was over priced in the main, the ‘pub’ is gritty and the toilets were like a 70’s pub, frankly disgusting. If you enjoy the grunge then go to Pimsoll. Everything was terrible value other than the burger and fried potatoes, both of these were good. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

The blonde lady behind the bar on the 25th Nov 2023 was the worst customer service i have ever had. I hope she does not stay employed here for longer than it takes for me to write this message. I have never felt so diminished by a member of staff in any establishment i have ever stepped foot in. She Seriously ruined my night and i am never stepping foot in here again as long as she works here. Thanks for the pint (which she was bitchy about whilst serving). thanks for nothing. Zac Trickett.

What great place, fab food, electric atmosphere, awesome staff…busy place good service can’t wait to visit again loved it

Situated on Plimsoll Road (named after Samuel Plimsoll and nothing to do with the shoe) this pub is quite hard to describe. Imagine an old boozer, add a trendy 20s/30s crowd and then serve very good food. This is not a gastropub, it’s a pub. Run by Four Legs who were famous for their residency in another Islington pub. They have an interesting riff on the Big Mac, which has been voted as the best burger in London. They do not sell chips but do have excellent roast potatoes. Chipolatas were very nice - crispy and served with mustard. The burger was excellent, although quite rich, so I would recommend sharing. Cockles were great as was the pasta. We also had an excellent tomato salad. The menu changes frequently but classics like the burger are always available. Service is friendly and laid back. As others have noted it is extremely busy and seating is old school pub. I definitely recommend this place as it feels like an evolution away from the more formal gastropub to something more casual but with the same standard of food.
