The Planet Coffee House & Grill in Warrington

Our local cafe in Birchwood Shopping Centre just stepped up it's game to another level. Always a great breakfast spot but the speed of service today was incredible...no sooner had we sat down with our excellent coffee our breakfast arrived...the lady making the meals up was listening as we ordered and started putting our food together as we were paying... very slick professional service and great value food. Many thanks, we are lucky to have such a great local cafe we can walk to.

Always a busy little place when I pass here, so thought I would give it a try today. Had the cheese on toast which was just how I like it - thick bread and a vey generous helping of two cheeses. Lovely and clean place and the rest of the food looked good too from what I could see. Think I will be back to try the full English soon!

Following the Birchwood 10k race we called in. Coffee was excellent. Had to have more. I had veggie all day breakfast and OH had bacon and sausage on toast. Everything was well cooked, well presented, tasty. Good thick toast. Nice and clean everywhere, lovely service. Great value.

Great value cafe serving excellent coffee, breakfast and lunches. Friendly, efficient service from professional staff. Gluten free no problem... lovely breakfasts are great value. Nice seating area with plenty of space and always clean and tidy. Very lucky to have such a great local cafe close by. Superb.

egg and chips , sausages and chips and two teas . chips warm eggs swimming in oil tissue to mop the oil up off the plate , sausages are now small ones but the same price as the big sausages used to be but only one cafe in Birchwood shoping center . Will wait till home next time to eat . The Planet has gone down hill the last 5 months is not the same as it was

Came here for breakfast with my mum this morning and ordered an English breakfast. By far the worst I’ve ever had. Eggs swimming in oil and raw inside, bacon was so salty I couldn’t eat it, beans were cold and tasted like curry which was bizarre, the sausage tasted frozen. The only acceptable item was the toast. What a shame.

On Wednesday 23 August 2023 in the morning I went with my friend Lisa to this place for a cup of coffee. I saw an old metal board which a figure was holding it and I browsed the board which states (the visual explanation of) all the different kinds of coffees, such as cappuccino, latte, americano, espresso, etc. I noticed the ‘black eye’, which I thought that it was kind of funny and I would like to try that one. So I ordered a ‘black eye’ at the till, but the maid looked puzzled at me and said me that she had never heard of that one. She then discussed with the other members of staff. I said: “Never mind, an americano would do fine.”, so I got an americano and paid for it. I sat at the terrace and was drinking the americano while Lisa had a creamy cappuccino, when I noticed that a member of staff was cleaning the tables. I went over to her and showed her the metal board, so she understood what I was talking about and went inside while I was finishing my cup on the terrace. I was surprised that this member came towards me with a cup of coffee together with a note stating: “I am so sorry that I have never heard of the ‘black eye’, so upon discussing with staff I made this one for you.” I was very pleased with the goodwill and the excellent gesture of this service together with the ‘black eye’ on the house! I joked her: “When I come back the next time, try to remember the same order!” A cuppa worth for the day! ☕️

Had the all day breakfast what a joke asked could i swap the sausage for another piece of bacon and they said no told them I don't eat sausage but wouldn't change it so i had a sausage that ended up wasted the beans the tomatoes the ash brown were all cold including the bacon the only thing that was hot were the 2 fried eggs and that's only because they cant leave a fried egg to go cold and stagnate this place i will never recommend and never visit again oh and no mushrooms call that on English breakfast its a joke

Food not brilliant cheese on toast burnt. Howver, they insist you leave your trolley outside the cafe out of sight. I have questioned this before but they insist. Today my trolley was taken with my coin in. I asked to speak to the manager and asked are they liable if someone takes our shopping whilst you are eating. She was rude and said it was only a pound and no they are not liable. I replied if that's her answer we will not come again she said that's fine We travel a distance to look at ACC and then go to the planet for a treat. Will certainly not go in again. I want their customers to be aware they are leaving there shopping at planets insistence but they won t reimburse you if anything stolen

We are regulars at Planet. Great place, prices very reasonable, excellent service. The staff here are lovely. Greet us like friends.Had the burgers today. Classic cheese, and tex mex. Best burgers ever. 100 % beef patties. Better than the highly overpriced burgers we had recently at GR in Las Vegas! Please support this local business.They work so hard.

Used to come to Planet Cafe all the time as I work locally on Birchwood Park. I went a few weeks ago and the food wasn't up to the standard I remember, but it was very busy so I didn't really think much of it. Returned today. Burgers were so disgusting, so overcooked - I couldn't believe the chef was happy to send it out. I cut as much of the burnt bits off but I still couldn't taste beef through the taste of the charcoal. Not sure if it is under new ownership? it used to be great so I'm not sure what has happened. Certainly won't be back.

Without a doubt the worst breakfast we have ever had Black pudding and eggs severely over cooked Toast had barely seen a toaster Sausages was not nice And £9 for a breakfast that was horrendous is a joke

Another great breakfast! We run an artisan stall at the Birchwood Shopping centre each quarter and are always looked after really well by the team here. They do a great breakfast which keeps us going when we are busy on our stall. Thanks from Cutch!

The cafe itself is spotlessly clean, very Keen with environmental issues. The staff were lovely, clean tidy and helpful. The food quality was very poor. Grissel all in the sausages, extremely greasy with a bitter taste. Poor quality bacon full of fat. Consider buying your stock fresh not frozen from a reputable butcher and you will have cracked it. This cafe has potential, but the food quality is cheap and it shows

We popped in for poached egg on toast plus 2 flat whites.....flat whites drank and still waiting another 10 mins for breakfast, it wasn't busy either. No apology, no refill, simply left to get on with it..... Birchwood needs some competition as planet is becoming complacent.

Always rated the breakfast highly. But called in for lunch it was poor . Steak and onion baguette steak too tough to eat. Classic chicken ciabatta completely tasteless chicken was cooked to a minimum. No mayonnaise just lettuce and chicken. No side of coleslaw as described on menu. I would certainly never go for lunch there again

Planet never fails to deliver. Great food. Prices very good for the quality of food served. The eggs benedict were perfect. Cooked to perfection. Presentation very professional . Restaurant quality . Staff are lovely. Very friendly and helpful. Super clean tables. Highly recommended

Planet has been a lifeline for me elderly mum during lockdown and restrictions. We ho for a walk every morning and call at planet for breakfast takeaway. The staff are so lovely. Food is always super. Coffee is the best in the area . Interaction with customers is so nice

Food is always good and at a great place. Had Roast baguette with all the trimmings. It was fantastic!!! Take away only at mo, but well worth sitting in your car or taking it home. Staff are always friendly and cheerful even in these tough times.

Used to love Planet cafe, however no longer. Ordered scrambled egg on toast and the toast was so soggy it was just like bread. This was our last visit. Costa coffee is much better and quicker service.

We love a trip to the planet cafe. We go regularly for breakfast - most weekends. The full English breakfast is great but my favourite is the eggs Benedict. Lovely hollandaise sauce, eggs always runny! The cafe is very clean and has been well adapted for the COVID rules. The staff are always friendly and they have plenty of offers on in the week. Happy customers

We are frequent diners. The lunch time roast changes daily and is always delicious. Always a great selection of freshly cooked dishes, fish and veggie options also. The staff are brilliant, friendly and always helpful. I have frequently eaten in restaurants that charge twice as much for food not half as good. Oh yes... and they serve the best coffee in Warrington.

Came here for breakfast and can honestly say the food was fantastic and the service was impecable. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and we definitely be coming back again soon.

There was 5 of us a little one and my boy in his wheelchair, when the waitress saw we were a little cramped when she came over with our food, she moved us to another table and even moved the condiments trolly so my boys chair could move with ease. Food is always great and the staff are amazing

We have been going to Planet cafe for over 20 years and every time we visit the food is always excellent and never had any reason to complain, the food is so good and the staff are happy, friendly and cheerful, always receive a warm welcome and would definately recommend a visit, as you won't be disappointed

Hubby and I are regulars here. I have reviewed previously. Time for a new year update. The food remains first class. Hubby had roast dinner. 4 massive Turkey slices. Meat moist and tasty . Baby potatoes and veg. Served with stuffing cranberry sauce and Yorkshire pudding. Piping hot and beautifully presented. I had fish chips and mushy peas . Batter crisp and wafer thin. Lovely. Fish huge. Chips very good. Again, meal piping hot and beautifully presented. The staff are lovely and as regular customers they always ask how we are doing . Staff work so hard clearing tables and keeping everything spotlessly clean. Put this place on your list if you are shopping at birchwood centre or passing by. Well worth a stop .

I visited for the first time today with a friend. I had a Planet breakfast and my friend had eggs benedict. Both meals were served very quickly, piping hot and delicious. Staff very pleasant and tables cleared regularly. Will definitely return !

Stopped for a cuppa before catching the train, really impressed, they are using vegwear and have a choice of alternative milks and vegan icecream, really helpful staff, definitely recommended.

This cafe is great for any mealtime. The staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. The food is always great quality and the choice is very wide. Good value for money and I always enjoy my meals there!

I eat here at least three times a week. The breakfast is excellent and super value for money. The daily roast is beautifully cooked and at under £7 Is super value. Try the sear grilled salmon salad. Beautifully presented and kale and pomegranate in the salad. Best salad I've ever had. They also do grest cakes and the hot apple pie is a must have. Staff are excellent. Service quick. Place spotlessley clean.

Although I frequently have coffee and cake here first time for a proper meal and not disappointed my chargrill salmon and kale salad was delicious compliments to the chef.

Walked in for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at just how how enthusiastic, friendly, efficient and professional all the staff were.

Don't let the simple look of this place fool you. It punches way above it's weight. The professional staff are efficient but friendly and approachable, the menu choices are wide ranging, and the coffee is fantastic. The breakfast choice is huge, from basic bacon baps to eggs benedict! I was really surprised today spending half as much as I usually do on a full English, but getting a much better breakfast! I was impressed with the speed of service, the quality of ingredients, and also how well cooked they were. Go here !

Wow just completed a buffet from Planet Cafe for a funeral at Warr Cons Club - well no words can describe the amazing array of tasty sandwiches from Planet - Amazing and a big THANK U - superb

Great local café! Good food,friendly staff, great service, reasonable prices and the best coffee in the area. Wagu and fish burger excellent. Chocolate cake and and apple pie to die for.. Not good for the waistline though! Keep it up Planet👍👍

I'm a regular visitor to the planet coffee house,there food is always excellent ,prices are good presentation of all the meals I have had have been lovely ,the quality of there food is excellent.Also would like to praise all the staff who are very polite, friendly and will go out of their way to help you .

Been to the planet coffee house for the second time great menu, lovely staff, lemon and lime water on tap free to all customers, great place to visit keep up the good work. It will certainly be the place i eat at when in birchwood.

Waited over half an hour for 2 breakfasts of which we asked for no mushrooms, both came with mushrooms, of which where cold and full of oil and grease. Paid £13.50 for two cold horrible breakfasts.

After a complaint i contacted the manager as requested via text...heard nothing...went in and left my phone number with manageress....heard nothing...its now been 5 weeks i huess your not actually willing to resolve the matter with myself. Wonderful!

Called today..had the huge breakfast...only the sausage was warm...rest was cold and had little flavour. 80 for an extra portion of tomato..a tiny plum tomato in sauce!! Nearly a tenner and i only had half an egg and the toast waitress serving brews was impatient and actually huffed whilst i was browsing the biard

Highly recommend this place! We travelled to Birchwood from Chester to find somewhere that did a cooked breakfast after visiting the university. We found this place and thought we’d try it out. I had smoothie and Eggs Benedict Royale which we’re both absolutely brilliant. Even had to go back up and get an extra round of buttered toast after tasting some off the Planet Breakfast!

Great place to come for good food. No frills, but lovely freshly cooked food and great prices. Couldn’t fault it at all.

The updated Planet Cafe an even better place to eat now its not so open to the shopping centre walkways...very efficient friendly service and tasty fresh breakfast with good ingredients. Walk through the Park and breakfast tastes even better!

Had a chilli jacket potato and my friend has a tuna jacket potato. The food was served piping hot and tasted delicious. The portion sizes are large. Very tasty will visit again. The cafe is very clean with a good sized seating area.

Great breakfast .wprked close to the Planet Cafe and had breakfast there most days .i still go now after retirement meeting friends there for coffee and cake or of course ....a brekkie

I've use Planet Cafe a lot and always have a big breakfast which is nice, however I've been today and joined a long queue at about 11.10am, as i was 3rd in line at 11.30 the guy (chef) turned the food boards over from breakfast to dinner, i got served at 11.33 and asked for my usual big breakfast, the lady (wbo was polite) was writing my order down when a scottish lady butted in and said I cant have a big breakfast becuase they have stopped serving them, just the smaller all day breakfast now, i explained that I had been queueing for 20 mins and that the menu had only changed 3 mins ago but I was told the same - no big breakfast. Surely anyone who joined the queue well before the cut off time should be allowed to order what they want? Like I say I have used this cafe a lot previously but after todays experience I wont be making any more visits.

Ideal for the busy shopper. This cafe is very popular in the centre of a busy shopping mall. Food is ok but nothing special.

Had a takeaway bacon and sausage sandwich. The sandwich itself was plentiful with good quality ingredients though it was slightly overpriced in comparison to other takeaway products in the local area.

What a surprise, stopped off for a quick coffee and found a little gem. Situated in the Birchwood Shopping Centre this is a quality cafe.Great coffee, free papers and simple food to die for. The toast, yes, just toast smothered in butter is superb, and looking at my fellow diners tucking into eggs, sausage, bacon etc the rest of the menu looked top notch. Customers can sit inside or outside, but within the covered area of the shopping centre.

I love this place and visit often with my toddler. The food is delicious and so fresh with a huge choice. The smoothies are great and the coffee is the best in Birchwood. The staff are also brilliant, always smiling and very helpful, especially when I am on my own with my son.

I visited today with a colleague and we both had one of the specials - Haddock Thermidore. i can honestly say it was one of the most superb dishes I have ever had, lunch or otherwise. My colleague also agreed. Owner Jamie also let us have coffee on the house which was a very nice touch. I cannot recommend this place highly enough although it does get very busy now around lunchtime.

We had the roast lamb today and it was amongst the tastiest meals I have ever had. The quantity was good and it arrived speedily. I can thoroughly recommend eating here. There is a large selection on offer and everything looks delicious. Highly recommended.

Bacon podría utilizarse para re-sole zapatos, huevos fritos eran duras y correoso, media tostada, frijoles fría. hecho Todo por 5 libras. 99 cada uno. Pedimos al señor que estaba acechando las mesas para cambiar la comida incomible. No entendía muy bien el inglés, y salías para limpiar otra mesa. No lo recomendaría a menos que estés desesperado. Muchos sitios mejores para comer en y alrededor de Birchwood Mall. No regresaré. Sentado en la mesa mirando el pasaba en fue la mejor parte de esta experiencia. He dicho suficiente. . . . V2K

Myself and Three Friends visiting yesterday from the Wirral, Nothing wrong with the food when you eventually get it , The staff need some training in how to deal with the public . One person taking orders while the rest of the staff trying to look busy, eventually The person yesterday took my order then decided to stop and talk to a girl who walked in saying to her can't you keep away , I then said to him excuse me my friend is waiting to continue the order which he completely ignored me , Hopefully next time we visit we would like to see an improvement in the attitude to the staff Gill Harrison

Called in for a quick coffee lovely coffee very clean and friendly.Didn't have food but what was in the fridge looked nice and hot food looked delicious .

Very nice food, all homemade. Cheese on toast is to die for. Prices a little expensive bur it is a limited market as no others around. Very very nice.

Always have lunch when shopping or in the Birchwood area. Serves delicious snacks and full plated dinners, ample portions and slick service.

Staff are appalling...you can not order a simple roast dinner because of the language barrier without repeating yourself 3 times...in the end i asked for chips and a cup of tea still had to repeat myself...your made to feel dirty and as if you should not be even there by staff...can not even tell you what the food is like can only order chips terrible they need training WILL NOT BE RETURING.

Reconozcámoslo el abedul Centro comercial es un infierno. Sin embargo, este lugar es un oasis para escapar a si su otra mitad pasa su tiempo en la tienda de arranque coche (QVC).

Mi pareja y con frecuencia visita el café, pero sólo debido a la gran calidad de la comida. Pocos parecen desinteresados, particularmente el personal de una señora mayor en la rubia (quizás hasta el acento irlandés, puedo decir debido a lo tranquilo ella habla) cada vez que he sido ella es muy antipática y parece que ella es ser obligado contra su voluntad a hablar con los clientes y estaría en cualquier otro sitio. Creo una cálida bienvenida y un personal sonriente feliz haría visitas más agradable. Excelente comida a un precio razonable, aunque como ya he dicho sólo retorno debido a la gran comida, pero no el servicio.

Set in a typical busy shopping mall. The young staff are a credit to this fast food place. Smashing breakfast at value prices. Busy busy but worth the wait.

Las tiendas no ha estado aquí por un tiempo, ya que he sido afortunada localización para no ser sacado por la esposa!! Este café hace que la experiencia de compras mucho más agradable. Los propietarios bien bonitos interiores y el personal.

Este café está situado en el centro justo fuera del hogar Birchwood gangas. Hay un amplio aparcamiento en la zona de compras del parque, pero está un poco lejos andando si son discapacitados. Blue Badge aparcamiento está disponible, pero puede ser bastante limitado en las horas punta, sin embargo, el acceso al centro y el café son planas, por lo que es fácil para los discapacitados en sillas de ruedas.

La comida aquí es bueno, pero no me gusta donde el descanso está, básicamente es justo fuera de los aseos en el medio de la zona comercial, que tiene tiendas por toda la zona de estar con gente mirando en lo que tienes, no hay mucha privacidad en mi opinión. Necesidad de que sea un poco más privado en algunas zonas.

Planet cafe's food is fantastic for a cafe. The portions are well sized and appropriately hot. The service however is a complete atrocity and will leave your tummy grumbling for far too long. Only downside to an otherwise okay cafe.

Not been here for a while ( just because I hate shopping !!) Food up to its usual high standards with fast service. Well done keep up the good work it makes a bad shopping day experience much more bearable !!

La comida en el café de Planet es fantástico. Sólo sé de otro café que es igual de bueno y eso es en el norte de Gales! Siempre la comida es de buena calidad y las porciones están lejos de tacaños. El servicio es siempre rápido y estoy aquí un mínimo de una vez a la semana.

Este café siempre mantiene sus estándares muy altos. Nosotros solo tuvimos bol de caldo (muy sabroso) cordero asado caliente con todos los adornos y yo tuvimos y bacon, huevos de salchichas en pan tostado. excelente calidad por un centro comercial café ( o en cualquier otra parte que importa) con 2 café con leche, me dieron cambio desde £18 me alojo aquí leyendo el periódico mientras que la Sra. va de compras hasta que es tiempo para llevar las maletas para el coche. Prueba y no te decepcionará. Bien hecho a todo el personal.

Tomó nota de mi madre y de compras, decidimos almorzar aquí. Yo tenía el asado de cordero, era increíble muy sabroso y encantadores frescos vegetales. Mi madre tuvo el bacalao y dijo que era lo mejor que había probado. El personal era muy amable servicio fue rápido. Recomiendo encarecidamente este Café. Toda la comida es en la exposición y todo parecía una gran calidad. Bien hecho volveremos.

Fuimos a comer la comida era buena, pero nadie estaba limpiando las mesas así que cambiamos los platos sucios o propia mesa a otro . El servicio era un poco lento, ya que el lugar estaba muy lleno entiendo un retraso con las comidas, pero créanme deberían tener las mesas se han liquidado y limpiado por lo menos

Yo estaba en un centro comercial de Birchwood hoy a media mañana. Llamé al planeta para un café. Tienen una buena selección de café, pero hoy sólo tenía una confirmación blanco simple como aparte de que habría tenido un latte pero estoy contando calorías. Hablando de que, como yo estaba esperando para ser servida I fácilmente podría elegido cualquiera de su desayuno comida por ejemplo el bacon, salchichas, etc, ya que todo estaba perfectamente preparado pero que puede resistir. Las raciones eran muy generoso, todo por un buen precio. He estado allí por mi almuerzo unas cuantas veces. Un par de semanas que mi hija y yo tuvimos una chili en una chaqueta patatas y como soy un poco exigente en comida de la cafetería me sorprendió gratamente que el chili era casi tan bueno como jajaja antiminas. La carne para la cena con asado está tallado en el mostrador y parece maravilloso sin mencionar los gloriosos dulces y pasteles que tienen para ofrecer. El personal es muy eficiente y muy limpio. agua gratis en uno de esos dispensadores demasiado! Así que si eres como yo y como para beber agua con su comida, no tienes que comprar una botella de agua o tienes que pedir en la barra.

La comida en la cafetería / grill vale la pena ir a Birchwood por su propia cuenta. Comimos allí cada vez que vaya de compras en Birchwood. Es un café muy concurrida en una gran ubicación. Puedes pedir y pagar por el hasta tomar su número de orden a su mesa y el personal llevan a unos minutos más tarde.
